The Rev Theory music video for their new single, Hell Yeah has finally been released by their record label. The video stars RAW’s own, Ashley playing some sort of love interest for one of them or whatever. To be honest, I couldn’t be bothered to watch it. Unfortunately, I can’t embed the video but check it out by clicking here.

YouTube Classics: April Hunter vs. Alan Funk
Welcome to the YouTube Classics! This week, our theme is “Battle of the Sexes”, intergender matches featuring both men and women competing against one another. Today, we have April Hunter vs. Alan Funk from TNA’s early days. Funk, incidentally, is clad in a dress, as he is the crowned “Miss TNA”. That’s about as gender-bending as you can get in wrestling!
50 Sexiest: The First Update
Okay so here’s the deal, every once in a while I’m gonna blog and update you guys on the status of 50 Sexiest Divas, just to give you a flavour of what’s going on. In future, I may even give you tips into who’s getting a lot of votes etc. But only if you’re very lucky! But with this first post I just want to say a big THANK YOU.
We just launched this competition two days ago and already it’s exceeded our every expectation, honestly we didn’t expect such a huge response. The last time I checked the vote count (this morning) it was well over 200 votes. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t expecting even a 100 in the first week! Not only that, but in two days our YouTube video has gotten over 1000 views too! And I just want to send a special thank you to Angie, over at our sponsor site, Divas-Heaven.com for really going above and beyond the call of duty in supporting the competition over there. With that, keep voting and showing your support for your favourite Diva(s)!

Terri’s Good Deed of the Day
Former WWE Diva, Terri Runnels is trying to be relevant again. One of the original Divas along with Sunny and Sable, Terri is using her fame (or what’s left of it, it’s been what… 4 years?) to launch a new competition to make the world write. Is this to cure illiteracy or something? Coz making people, whom already have bad English, an essay is like asking a deaf person what the time is. And the prize? For writing an essay (and paying the small fee of $200) you could win a house and $100,000:
GAINESVILLE, FL –– Terri Runnels, former World Wrestling Entertainment Diva/Wrestler/Host, announced today she is holding an International contest to Make The World “Writeâ€, giving a hard working, good person, family, non-profit corporation or company a chance to win her home plus $100,000 to use to make the world a better place!
Contest must have at least 5,000 entries and the contest will end on August 3, 2008. There will be a $200 fee per entry/essay. The Make The World “Write†contest focuses on the skill and passion of the writer! The winner will receive Terri’s beautiful four bedroom, three bathroom home with a stunning pool complete with waterfalls, a hot tub and, a playhouse, workshop or whatever you choose to make it, plus $100,000 for the winner to use at their discretion.
Terri Runnels states, “The Make The World “Write†reminds us that every act of kindness, every dream dared to be expressed —counts. This contest is about making someone’s dream come true along with allowing them to then do the same for others or whatever they think will “make the world a better placeâ€! Make The World “Write†will be the opportunity of a lifetime!â€
To participate in Make The World “Write†and for more information, visit http://www.MakeTheWorldWrite.com.
About Terri Runnels: Terri is best known as one of professional wrestling’s original divas, formerly of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). With Terri’s 18 year career in the sports entertainment industry, Terri was seen entertaining millions of dedicated viewers and on high-rated programs and networks such as NBC, TNN, UPN and Spike TV. Terri has a deep dedication and commitment to working with philanthropic causes throughout the world, including non-profit corporations such as the Make A Wish Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club of America, Children’s Miracle Network, Hermie & Elliott Sadler Foundation, and Autism Speaks. Terri has served as a corporate spokesperson for numerous clients across the country, has participated in countless celebrity “meet-and-greets†and other highly successful appearances. She is currently working on two books centering around “motherhood” and other entertainment projects!
Hey! Before you start opening up Microsoft Word… I haven’t finished! I’m not sure if she’s giving away her own home, though that would be funny! Anyway for Terri’s next act, she will attempt to cure world peace.
Breaking News: SmackDown! Launches Divas Title!
Stop the freakin’ presses!!! It has emerged that SmackDown! is launching it’s very own Women’s Championship at Night of Champions on June 29th. The news was revealed at last night’s SmackDown! tapings where General Manager, Vickie Guerrero announced that SmackDown! would be crowning it’s very own Diva Champion!
Tune in this Friday night on SmackDown! to see which Diva will advance to the Night of Champions match-up for the new title!
Complete SmackDown! Spoilers – June 06, 2008
This week on Friday Night SmackDown! history will be made, tune in as not one but two bombshells are dropped! Check out the full details below:
– Edge and La Familia opened the show. Vickie Guerrero got insane amounts of heat for introducing Edge, saying Undertaker was gone from WWE for good. Edge cut a promo and said Undertaker can now ‘rest in peace.’
The lights then went out, and people thought Undertaker was back already. The lights came on, and Edge had pranked us all. Huge heat for that. Vickie announces she and Edge will get married on the July 11 edition of Smackdown. Geez.
– Batista hit the ring and said he wanted Edge in a title match. Vickie said no to the idea, and said if he wants a title shot, he has to win an 8-man tag match tonight with the added stipulation that she chooses who teams with Batista.
– Backstage, Vickie was shown with the SmackDown divas. She says she will crown a new Smackdown brand Divas champion!
– Natalya beat Cherry, Maryse, Victoria, Layla El and Michelle McCool in a divas match to advance to Night Of Champions where the new Divas champion will be crowned.
One Night at McCool’s on the Best Damn Sports Show
Oh, cut me some slack – I’m a Liv Tyler fan. I had to make that reference. Anywaayyss, Michelle McCool appeared on The Best Damn Sports Show Period tonight, seemingly to promote the WWE’s “1 Million Dollar Giveaway”, the upcoming Draft, and Jimmy Kimmel’s appearance on SmackDown this Friday. Aside from that mishmash of promotion, they spoke with her about her reason behind entering the WWE Diva Search and her college softball days, amongst other things.
To see our stills and video of her appearance, follow the cut!
Dead Ringer: Beth Phoenix & Beau Garrett
So, I was watching Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (I know, I know..), and I couldn’t help but think that this actress looked a lot like Beth Phoenix. Her name is Beau Garrett, and she’s only been in a few notable movies (Fantastic Four, Turistas, Made of Honor), so it’s likely that you don’t even know who she is (Click here to see her IMDB profile). I think it’s in the eyes. Maybe she has a bit of Jillian Hall in her too? I don’t know.. I keep seeing Beth when I look at her. What do you think?
Everyone’s Got A Price, Maria Included
The question is: is Maria‘s price more than $25,000? The RAW Diva’s stock may have plummeted on television, but twice in as many weeks she’s on the promotional spree for WWE. Last week, she hosted a screening for WWE’s Tribute to the Troops for a panel of Emmy voters and today, she attended the press conference for “McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania.” Maria even dressed for the occasion in a green dress, I guess she thought she was being cute and smart?
And as the picture above would suggest, she was the picture of class and grace – setting a fantastic example for the WWE Divas before a crowd of America’s top media outlets. I’m sure the other Divas are so proud. Check out our picture selection below and for bonus pictures click here.
Showtime Reminder: Michelle on “Best Damn..” Tonight
Just a small reminder: Michelle McCool is set to appear on tonight’s episode of the Best Damn Sports Show Period along with John Cena. Here’s the listings, for those of you with Fox Sports Net or Comcast Sports Net:
CSN at 9 pm. EST & 11 pm. EST
FSN at 9 pm. EST & 11 pm. EST

Watch Out, Daffney’s About!
Here’s one from the history books: It seems former WCW worker, Daffney aka Shannon Spruill could be headed back to national television! Once, the deranged and psychopathic lover of David Flair (Good times, WCW!), Daffney was one of the only females in WCW to get truly get over with the fans and became something of a cult icon.
Spruill was later hired by WWE in 2003 to a development deal but was fired in the same year. She briefly did work in TNA during their Wednesday night pay per view days and this Thursday night on iMPACT!, Daff will make her national television return for the first time since WCW. Daffney will play the “fan” who challenges Kong this week. And wait, it doesn’t stop there! According to reports, TNA was so impressed by Shannon (iMPACT! was taped last week) that they want to hire her full-time!
I’m not too familiar with Daffney, other than she was a pretty big part of the WCW “women’s division” (if you could call it that) and was one of their only girls to actually get over with the fans, so I’m all for a talented, hard-working girl getting another shot in this crazy industry.
Gail Drives “Spike” Through Controversy
They say controversy creates cash (oh wait, only Eric Bischoff says that), well TNA certainly created a lot of controversy with their commercial on Spike TV for iMPACT! The one where the Knockouts talk about how they don’t compete in pillowfights etc. No? You’re lost? Thank God for YouTube…
It seems head Knockout, Gail Kim has been paying attention the Internet mauling the Knockouts have received as a result of the commercial and has decided to tell her side of the story:
so i have received a lot of comments, emails etc regarding the new spiketv commercial for the tna knockouts. I guess some people are offended or think we are bashing the other company so i thought i would address the issue. First of all, i think the point of the commercial was to feature us which was nice and made us feel appreciated for all the hard work we have put in for TNA and spike. A lot of people are saying most of you were former divas and now youre bashing them? well first of all, I would hope that a lot of people would have common sense to know that we dont have control over the script of the commercial and secondly i think everyone is overreacting to it. we are in a competitive entertainment market and things like this happen all the time. I think the WWE has a lot of talented girls…Ive worked and trained with some of them and dont knock how hard they have worked to get to this level. Personally I loved the commercial and am proud of everything the Knockouts division has accomplished so far and feel like its finally the time that we are featured in this kind of way! so i hope people can see the positive side of this and if not, well sorry you feel like you have to dwell on it !!!
love gail
Just like Gail writes, she and her fellow Knockouts aren’t in the creative know-how, they are given a script and expected to perform. While I don’t agree with the commercial and the pot shots from TNA, Gail makes a fair point. I am glad it’s Gail and not any other Knockout being the first one to speak out, because to be blunt none of the other girls should dare have a say. Gail is a well respected performer, who has reached heights in both WWE and TNA. All I’m sayin’ is it wouldn’t sound the same if Christy Hemme were the one making this post…
Jazz Approached By TNA
Fuck, we have lost out big time. Turns out that the plum role of “problem solver” to the Beautiful People, which we went to Mickie Knuckles (see her make her debut this Thursday) was originally intended for two time WWE Women’s Champion and one of my favourite Divas, Jazz. Unfortunately, TNA couldn’t reach the multi-talented ECW alumna in time:
A female bodyguard for “The Beautiful People” is set to debut on Impact this Thursday. There was talk of bringing former WWE Women’s Champion Carlene “Jazz” Begnaud in for the role, but they weren’t able to get in touch with her in time for the last Impact taping or she simply wasn’t interested. Instead, the company’s going with an indy women’s wrestler that doesn’t look like your typical ‘Knockout’ or ‘Diva’. Additionally, Vince Russo wanted another pretty girl to join “The Beautiful People,” but Jeff Jarrett nixed the idea feeling that a third one may not get as over as well as Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, thus watering down the act.
I would love to see Jazz in TNA, this girl is just too talented to go to waste. Last year however, Jazz and her husband Rodney Mack caused some controversy when they opinionated that none of the major promotions want to employ them because of their skin colour. I certainly don’t agree. I really wanted a Jazz-Gail Kim feud in WWE, let’s hope TNA and Jazz can come to some agreement in the future. In fact, earlier this year, Jazz topped Diva Dirt‘s list of names TNA should hire.
Beth is G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S
Okay, I really, really hate that song, but seeing Beth Phoenix in this photoshoot makes me hate it a little less. She looks amazing, IMO. She utilizes her signature headdress without it look gaudy (as it has before), and the gold and bronze accents work perfectly together. Overall, Beth looks sexier than I’ve ever seen her! Here’s proof that she can work both sides of the Diva spectrum – she’s both kick-ass and has sex appeal. Click the thumbnails below to see the full photos.
YouTube Classics: Matt Hardy/Lita vs. Big Show/Trish
Welcome to the YouTube Classics! I’m a day late and a dollar short, but it’s still here! This week, our theme is “Battle of the Sexes”, intergender matches featuring both men and women competing against one another. Today, we have Matt Hardy & Lita vs. Big Show & Trish Stratus:
RAW Redux – June 02, 2008
This week, with a new improved formula! We have photos and a match video after the cut!
This week on RAW: Coming off the heels of One Night Stand, Melina was all eyes on Beth Phoenix in the next chapter of this epic feud. Elsewhere, the women’s division evolved with Mickie James back in the fold and the official women’s division introduction to Katie Lea! Later, Mickie was involved in a backstage rendezvous with John Cena.
Thoughts & Reactions
WWE sent a message loud and clear last night: a new direction for the women’s division, one based on real wrestling. After One Night Stand, I was left speechless. An amazing match from Beth and Melina. There were so many question marks going into last night’s RAW, because for the first time in a long time I had no idea what WWE was going to do next. Where can this go next? Will the feud continue? Will Beth just simply go back into the title hunt? The predictable booking just wasn’t there, it was honestly a guessing game. I was so eager to watch RAW and found out what would happen next and I can tell you this: I was not disappointed. They didn’t just drop Melina and revert back to Beth-Mickie, as I had an inkling they would, instead they followed through logically and actually set up another dimension to this feud that could be exciting to see develop over the next few weeks and that is the set-up of Melina being so embroiled by Beth Phoenix. And I’m going to admit it… I popped so hard when Katie’s music hit. Note to self: Never eat breakfast while watching RAW.
Needless to say, I thought last night’s Diva action was the perfect follow-through from the amazing night before. I had worried that I’d be left underwhelmed after a stellar “I Quit” match, but if anything I was overwhelmed because I was not expecting Katie Lea to be added to the mix… what a fabulous addition! Although, I feel a little bad for Jillian, it says a lot when they bring in a Diva who has never been involved in the women’s division before to wrestle this match and not her. Will Jillian find herself back on SmackDown! during the Draft? I can see it happening. Last night during RAW, I saw the future of the women’s division in the ring. These four Divas, I hope in future will have great matches and great feuds with each other and we got a little glimpse of that on RAW.
The match itself was pretty good, if a little short, I would have liked to see the girls get a few minutes longer. Melina was just on-point, character-wise, so much intensity – Melina is a fantastic actress. The spot with Melina and Beth was so well done and you could hear the crowd reaction, they went absolutely nuts! I must point out, that for the first time in history, the King was actually making useful comments to enhance the plot and storyline rather than just talking about how hot they are. He mentioned during the “rush” between Beth and Melina that no Diva has made Beth retreat before. Could he be under orders from WWE to actually focus on the in-ring action? I think it really showed that WWE is taking the division more seriously. I would have loved to see more offense from Katie, but I’ll take this for now; for a moment there it looked like Mickie would get the win over Katie and I was about to hurl something at the TV. You don’t introduce Katie Lea to the division and have her job in her first match, if they wanted to do that they should have used Jillian. But in the end, I was really pleased that Katie got the cover, it has her come off strong in her first match. Of course, she got some help from the Glamazon but they are the heels so I wouldn’t have Katie pin the Women’s Champion cleanly unless it’s a title match.
I have been harsh on Mickie and Cena’s backstage segments (i.e. One Night Stand), but I am pleased to say I enjoyed last night’s segment! The acting from Mickie was miles better than the night before or from her past segments on RAW. She came across funny and kooky, kind of like Cameron Diaz, I did lol when she saw the knickers! This segment was a lot funnier than the one at One Night Stand and actually enjoyable. The comments from Cena felt kinda shoot-ish, maybe the word spread backstage that news of their relationship has broken on the Internet?
In all, there was a lot of plot development last night on RAW, I cannot wait till next week to see what happens next. See, you don’t need bikini contests to draw in viewers; this feud between Melina and Beth has been fantastic and so unpredictable and that makes people want to watch the product; I honestly don’t know what they’ll do next with Melina’s whole cataotonic state of mind – which is why I want to tune in. Storylines like this can draw viewers into RAW, Vince, you don’t need $1m to do that.
Diva Dirt Presents: 50 Sexiest Divas 2008
The wait is over! The time is now… Diva Dirt is proud to present to you, it’s first ever 50 Sexiest Divas list! Damn, That’s A Lot of Denim
Victoria has a new WWE.com photoshoot, sporting a lovely Canadian tuxedo, and the creative geniuses at WWE.com have struck gold again with the title “Deadly Denim”. I sure hope it doesn’t poison her or something.. I’m not a big fan of the denim-on-denim combo, especially with the super-short jacket. IMO, Victoria should stick to the black, spider-themed ensembles – at least with them she won’t look like a wannabe country music singer.. Click the thumbnails below to view the full photos!

Now Playing: Double Featurette
Diva Dirt Theatre is back with a double featurette this month! Watch as Beth Phoenix and Melina star in “I Quit at One Night Stand.” And if that isn’t enough for you, we have a bonus feature (a “B” flick, if you will), “When John Met Mickie… Backstage.” Grab some popcorn and enjoy the shows!
Torrie: Under the Surgeon’s Knife
It seems Trish Stratus isn’t the only one having work done! Torrie Wilson updated her MySpace some hours ago to say that she is having surgery on her back today. Torrie asks that we keep her in our thoughts and prayers. Read Torrie’s blog below:
Hey my friends!
Well, I just wanted to let you in on everything that’s happening! I am going in for back surgery today and I am so very nervous. I know that I am in great hands as far as all my Dr.’s and all but it’s still scary if you really think about it….I have to say that I absolutely cannot wait to feel better though and I am so damn tired of feeling crickety and fragile and not being able to be as active as I want. They are doing a new kind of surgery where they go in through your side and use a scope to take out one of my discs and replace it with something synthetic. My Dr. says that within 6 weeks I will be able to run some (which is my loooove!) and that I will be walking around tomorrow but please please please say a prayer for me today that everything will go smoothly! If all goes well, my reward will be a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 10 days so I can’t wait for that! I will let you know how it all goes in the next couple of days. Love you all!
Good luck, Torrie! It was reported yesterday that Torrie may be appearing at a RAW house show on June 14th in Boise, Idaho. Looks like things are looking on the up for my favourite Diva!

Systematic Breakdown of One Night Stand
It’s only been two weeks since I wrote my last “Systematic Breakdown of…”, but here we are again. Another pay per view in the history books – and actually, the word “history” is very fitting here – because last night at the 2008 edition of One Night Stand, history was made for the WWE Divas when Beth Phoenix and Melina did battle in what I am sure in future, will be an iconic “I Quit” match.
This month we are introducing new elements to the Breakdown, after the cut we have pictures too!
Thoughts & Reactions
For those of us who watched the match live last night, I know I certainly felt like I was watching history being made because from from start to finish, this was a fantastic, competetive match. Both Divas deserve a standing applause, because they worked their butts off at One Night Stand and delivered a match that for me, stole the show. I wrote in our Prediction Post yesterday that this could go one of two ways; it could be a filler match or it could be a defining match for the women’s division and thankfully it was the latter. WWE really invested time into this match allowing it to be the best it could be and I’m grateful, I loved watching this match, it showcased the ability of the Divas. Sure, they’re sexy but it’s not all about sex… these two Divas proved that they can wrestle, that if given the time and emotional investment into storylines, that the WWE Divas brand can be so much more than Diva Search girls, bikini contests etc.
I fully expected the Beth win and I think it was the right call to make, as much as I love Melina, there’s no way you could have the Glamazon quit without making her look weak. Yes, Melina quit but she still came across strong – just look at what it took for Beth to finally put Melina away. She really hung on in there and that’s something I hope WWE pushes on RAW tonight. Furthermore, they should really push that Melina took Beth further than any Diva before her could, really made Beth work for her victory and didn’t make it easy for her. Candice and Mickie, sure they had good matches with Beth, but those matches in my eyes are weak compared to this one. They really need to sell that this match with Melina really took it’s toll on the Glamazon because Melina certainly deserves the kudos and after her amazing work over the past few weeks, really does deserve to remain in the limelight.
Overall, the in-ring work and the story told in this match was fantastic and the girls deserve a lot of respect for the way they mapped out this match and were able to tell a story. They got a lot more time than the Divas usually do, 10-12 minutes and planned every bit of it so it was must-watch television. Even though we all knew Beth would win in the end, they really worked hard to give Melina an upper-hand in parts of the match, have her come across as though she just might beat Beth and that added to the excitement of the match-up.
The finish was just fantastic and a sight to be seen, the image above is just wow… I mean, if you thought Beth piling up Melina and Mickie at Judgment Day was a sight, then this was it’s equal. What a fantastic finish to the match, it really showed that Beth needed to pull out all the stops to get Melina to say “I quit”, and this move with Melina’s body so contorted her head touching her feet – it was just sick! This finish showed the physicality and the intensity of both these Divas, I don’t think there could be any other move to end this match that would do it justice; they really went that extra mile with the finish with Melina being forced to quit due to the severity of this move.
After a 5-star match, what does WWE do? Taint it! Ain’t that always the way… Instead of appreciating this defining Divas match, we cut to John Cena talking about two girls doing submission holds is hot. Let’s throw out the window the fact that this match was so physical, so intense just like the men’s matches. No instead, let’s make sexual innuendos. The whole Cena-Adamle-Mickie thing was stupid and pathetic. I don’t think WWE even knows where they’re going with Cena-Mickie, they just want to get her on TV in some fashion. She still can’t act, though.
Mickie & Cena: Just Another Love Story
Hmm, so many of us were thrown off by the sudden pairing of Mickie James and John Cena. Where did this come from? Why?! What sins have we commited to be punished so?! Oh… okay… one too far… Well, we have the scoop (actually Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com has the scoop)… Mickie and Cena are doing the dirty in real life.
And of course, Vince McMahon being the pervy voyeur that he is – when he couldn’t get a ringside seat to their personal, bedroom antics – made the call himself to have the duo play luvahs on screen too. All those comments about them being an odd couple on screen, imagine what they’re like in real life?!
I don’t know where on earth their love story is going, storyline wise, but I sure hope their personal life isn’t as dull and badly acted. Being the giving person that I am, here’s a little song dedication to our newest couple:
Trish Stratus: Au Naturale
Rumour has it that legendary 7-time Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus has had her breast implants removed! That is the word from Power Slam magazine, which is based in the UK. The Diva was always known for her fabulously busty boobs, but it seems that after two years out of the wrestling industry, Trish is no longer interested in looking fake.
Now that Trish has left the WWE, I guess she feels time to strip away the “Diva” look and start being simply Trish. I applaud her, with or without her ample assets, she is gorgeous and her implants do not define who she is and they don’t detract from her list of endless accomplishments in the WWE.
Hopefully this will help Trish get more work in the entertainment industry too, where implants are for slutty girls without talent, which Trish has in abundance.
