Bayley has been out of action now for just about a year.
Her last match took place on the June 25 episode of SmackDown in a mixed tag match alongside Seth Rollins. They took on Bianca Belair & Cesaro and came out with a victory after Bayley pinned Belair.

Bayley was set to face Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title in July at Money in the Bank. The match was set as an “I Quit” match and would have likely been the end of their feud. However, the match never took place.
On July 9, it was confirmed that Bayley suffered an injury and would be out for nine months. Her injury was to her ACL which required surgery and it happened during training at the WWE Performance Center.
Yesterday, Bayley posted on her social media a photo of her ring boots which can be seen below. This wouldn’t be the first time Bayley has teased her return, but the post got fans talking again.
Fans have been hoping for a Bayley return since the start of the year. At that time it would have been less than nine months and was just a hope that she would come back in January in the Royal Rumble match. Now it is past nine months and hopefully, she will return shortly.
In March as WrestleMania was approaching, PWInsider stated that her return to regular television programming would come after WrestleMania.
Bayley has not wrestled in front of a live crowd since before the pandemic in March 2020.

Toni Storm eyes up the AEW Women’s World Champions on the June 8 episode of Dynamite after she came to the aide of the current champion Thunder Rosa.
Rosa issued an open challenge earlier in the day. She said she preferred someone from the top five of the women’s rankings to step up but she was open to anyone. The number five positioned Marina Shafir answered the challenge.
The two women would fight on tonight’s Dynamite with the championship on the line. Rosa would go on to retain after countering a move from Shafir and rolling through to pin her to the mat.
Post-match, Shafir was not happy at all about her loss as she attacked the champion locking in a submission. Toni Storm came rushing down to the ring to save Rosa and take out Shafir. After coming down to do what she intended to do, Storm would pick up the championship belt and hold it before Rosa would yank it out of her hand.
Storm is currently sitting at number four on the current women’s rankings.
The match for June 10 Rampage will have Red Velvet take on Kris Statlander. The Baddies and the TBS Champion Jade Cargill continue to have issues with Statlander as she has recently helped Athena and Anna Jay.

Roxanne Perez has made history in NXT as she wins the first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
Weeks of matches resulted in the final two participants being Perez and Tiffany Stratton. Perez has won a contract for a championship opportunity for a title of her choosing. She has not made the decision of what championship she will be going for at the time of this writing.
The final moments of the match had Stratton pull Perez over to the corner to deliver a moonsault but she missed. Perez took advantage of the miss to hit Pop Rox and get the pin securing her victory.
The celebration started immediately as Cora Jade joined Perez in the ring. The two would celebrate with the contract in hand before Toxic Attraction’s music hit and the champions made their way down to the ring. Mandy Rose would start getting into the head of Perez and let her know she has no chance of defeating her for the NXT Women’s Title. She tells Perez to enjoy this moment because it is all down hill from here.
A brawl breaks out with the five women in the ring as Indi Hartwell rushes in to even the odds for the side of Perez & Jade. A six-woman tag team match has now been booked for next week between them.
Wendy Choo had a backstage segment with Stratton. Choo was originally being interviewed when Stratton interrupted because of her loss to Perez. Eventually Choo would throw her orange soda in the face of Stratton.
Also on this week’s NXT 2.0, Alba Fyre continues her dominance as she defeated Tatum Paxley. The battle went back and forth until Fyre was able to execute a Glory Bomb prior to a Senton Bomb to pick up the pin and victory. Paxley stepped up to Fyre this week because Lash Legend originally showed no interest.
After the match, Legend attacked Fyre heading up the ramp with a big boot.
Thea Hail signs a scholarship for Chase U and later in the night she tries to fill in as the tag team partner of Andre Chase. Chase had to take on Pretty Deadly in a handicap match after he tag team partner Bodhi Hayward was attacked backstage pre-match. Hail hopped up on the apron and insisted that Chase tag her in but he never did and Pretty Deadly picked up the win.
The fall-out from the In Your House event takes place on tonight’s NXT 2.0.
Toxic Attraction continue to stay at the top of the women’s division as Mandy Rose defeated Wendy Choo while Jacy Jayne/Gigi Dolin retained against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter.
We’ve made it to the finals of the first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament and we are down to two women fighting to get a chance at a championship.
On tonight’s show, Roxanne Perez will be going one-on-one with Tiffany Stratton. Perez got to the finals after defeating Kiana James in the first round followed by Lash Legend in the semi-finals. Stratton came into the tournament as a replacement for an injured Nikkita Lyons and defeated Fallon Henley.
Tatum Paxley will also be stepping up to Alba Fyre tonight. At the In Your House event, Paxley and Legend had a conversation backstage on who would be next to face the intimidating Fyre. Legend didn’t seem to want to step up so Paxley decided she will have her hand at Fyre tonight.
Former NXT Women’s Champion and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane is currently going by simply KAIRI and has been back in Stardom. She decided to leave WWE in July 2020 and made her way back to the ring in March 2022 at World Climax.
Talking recently with Entame Next (translation via Reddit user DamieN62), KAIRI opened up about her decision to leave WWE. After moving back to Japan she continued to be an ambassador for the company up until her return to Stardom.
“When I left Japan in 2017, I promised my fans that I would go on a long journey, but that I would come back grown up. I told that to President Rossy Ogawa (now Executive Producer). In the first place, my goal was to learn first-class professional wrestling, and I didn’t really intend to live permanently in the US. I thought about retiring from wrestling. This is a personal story, but I lost my best friend to illness. I made a vow at her graveside and promised to make it happen: I was going to participate in WrestleMania. I wanted to make it happen for sure. Thanks to that, I was able to compete in three WrestleManias, had a title match with Asuka as Kabuki Warriors, became a champion in both NXT and WWE, and even received an award for the NXT overall competitor of the year,” she said.
She continues, “After I moved to the U.S., my personal life was secondary to my professional life, and I was flying around and competing four times a week without a break, but then the pandemic hit, and I suddenly had time to myself. Then I took the time to do some introspection. I thought, ‘Where am I going to go from here? I had a sense of accomplishment that I had fulfilled my promise to my best friend and that I had done everything I could in my three years with WWE, and after several consultations with WWE, I decided to leave.”
On her reasoning for returning to Stardom she says, “After I returned to Japan, I had not been watching professional wrestling with much enthusiasm. But when I went to Stardom’s Budokan last year, the feeling of “I want to fight with everyone someday” came up from my heart. However, even if I were to return, it would be the first time in about two years that I would be in the ring. The pacing of the matches and the rules were different from those in WWE, and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to adapt quickly.
However, I had been training in the gym even when I was not competing, so I was in good physical condition. Another aspect of my decision to return was that I was confident in my three years of learning and experiencing wrestling in WWE. I am proud of the fact that I once protected Stardom during a period of stagnation as a player president, and I am proud of the fact that I was at the forefront of WWE women’s wrestling during its reform period, and I am proud of the fact that I have overcome both of these challenges.”
KAIRI’s last match with Stardom was in a tag team bout with Tam Nakano. They defeated Queen’s Quest (Miyu Amasaki & Utami Hayashishita) at Flashing Champions on May 28.
One of AEW’s newest additions to its women’s roster Toni Storm sat down with Renee Paquette for her latest episode of The Sessions.
Storm is a former WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion and the second Mae Young Classic winner but she decided it was time to leave WWE in the final days of 2021. After being granted her release, Storm took her 90-days where she was restricted from working elsewhere to take time to reflect.
In her conversation with Paquette, she did consider going back to Japan but AEW did reach out to her and that is where she has landed. She contemplated if she even wanted to wrestle anymore. She talks about going back to Australia for a month to reset herself.
The two talked back and forth about Storm’s exit from WWE and the talent gave a lot of insight on how she was feeling and why she decided to move on in her career.
“I thought my whole purpose in life was to go to WWE, but then over time I realized it’s just pro wrestling that I love. It’s not a company that I love. I just love pro wrestling,” said Storm.
Storm had only been on the main roster for six months prior to requesting her release. During that time she was more off-screen than on. She had a debut win over Zelina Vega and then wasn’t utilized on TV for the months directly following.
Here is what she had to say about her time on the main roster –
“I say it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Like people weren’t telling me that it was probably going to be terrible for years. I heard that from so many people, so many people. A lot of people don’t enjoy it, at all. For some people it just works out for others, it just makes them miserable and I guess I just fell in that category. It just wasn’t for me at that point.”
Paquette adds that it was a good thing that she realized that’s how she felt early on.
Storm continues, “They just fire people left, right, and center out of the blue. I could be fired next week and then it’s like, what’s the point? It just got very pointless to be honest. And it is hard to convey that.”
They continue to discuss how there are different layers and more to it when deciding to part ways with the company. Paquette says the last thing anyone wants is to sound bitter or that they weren’t handed the right cards. There is more to it.
“I’m not mad about the booking. I certainly don’t want to bury WWE. I don’t want to say bad things about the place. I had a great time there for the most part. There were times where I have great memories. It made me who I am essentially. I feel like I grew up. With them I had a very unique relationship.”
She continues, “I just felt like they, at times, didn’t have very much respect for me. Over time they just crushed my love for wrestling, I wasn’t even wrestling anymore. You’re not even allowed to say wrestling. It just wasn’t for me anymore.”
She goes on to say in the clip below that she knows she wasn’t going to succeed in WWE.
I got Toni Storm to come hang out with me and dish on all things wrestling, the ups and downs, knowing what works for her, and making choices. Plus we talk becoming Mrs. Juice Robinson, and Only Fans. It’s a real one! Thank you Toni!!! @aewpic.twitter.com/u6K8EzPhXc
As for Paquette, she recently spoke up on the recent win that Dr. Britt Baker had in the Owen Hart Cup. Bake would defeat both Storm and then Ruby Soho in the finals to win the tournament. She spoke on this in a separate episode of The Sessions.
Paquette stated,
“My fingers not fully on the pulse with every little nuisance of things going on, but I think when Toni Storm didn’t go over Britt on their way to the tournament, and then to have Ruby also lose, it would be nice to have one of those women in that spot,” Paquette said.
She continues, “Like I’m saying, Britt is f***ing great, there’s no denying that. I think she’s fantastic, I think she is head and shoulders at the top of that division, but to spread some of that love around as they’re bulking up that division, these women are stars. Toni Storm is a star, Ruby Soho is a star … she’s amazing. Kris Stantlander is on her way up as well.”
After a Fatal 4-way in the main event of the June 6 episode of Raw, a new number one contender was determined for Bianca Belair‘s Raw Women’s Championship. Fresh off of her win in a Triple Threat at Hell in a Cell, Belair was looking for her next opponent. Rhea Ripley defeated Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, and Doudrop in order to get that honor. Belair and Ripley will collide at Money in the Bank on Saturday, July 2.
As the number one contenders match winded down, Bliss went for Twisted Bliss on Morgan but the latter got her knees up. Doudrop tossed Bliss out of the ring but Morgan hits a Codebreaker. She went for ObLIVion but Nikki A.S.H. on the outside blocked her in order to help out her tag partner.
Doudrop delivers a Michinoku Driver on Morgan to get a near fall as Ripley comes back into the match. Ripley is able to get Doudrop up for the Riptide and pins her for the win.
Bianca Belair was at ringside for the match to find out who would face her at Money in the Bank. Post-match, Damian Priest and newest Judgment Day member Finn Balor joined Ripley in the ring in a stare-down with Belair to end Raw.
It is important to note that throughout the match, Morgan, and Bliss teamed up frequently to try and win the match hinting at them possibly forming a tag team moving forward. Having them feud with Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H. could be the next step.
Speaking of The Judgment Day, Edge is no longer the leader. Heading into Raw it was confirmed that a new member would be added to the faction. That person turned out to be Balor. Despite Balor being with AJ Styles and Morgan and losing to Judgment Day at Hell in a Cell, he saw the potential for joining the group.
As the segment continued, Ripley/Priest/Balor all turned on Edge with a vicious attack taking down the leader of the group.
Maryse was also featured on this week’s Raw as she made a return to promote the new season of Miz & Mrs. She traded words with Riddle during Miz TV which led to a match between Riddle and The Miz.
Dana Brooke became a five-time 24/7 Champion and retained her belt against Becky Lynch with an assist from Asuka. To read more on that you can click here.
Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of Raw.
The opening match had Brooke vs. Lynch squaring off in singles competition. Mere seconds after the bell rang, now-former 24/7 Champion Akira Tozawa was being chased by the usual suspects in the hunt for gold. Tozawa entered the ring in which Brooke would pin him becoming a five-time champ. Brooke lost the title to Tozawa on last week’s Raw.
Lynch quickly took to the mic and said that nobody is going to be winning a championship in her matches anymore except for her. She stated that the 24/7 Championship will now be on the line and warned the rest of the talent at ringside to not interfere or she would smash their faces.
Back from a commercial break, the Superstars who were at ringside were now gone. The match between Lynch and Brooke continued. After delivering a couple of Bexploders, Asuka‘s music hits which distracts Big Time Becks as she heads to the ring.
Lynch went to swing for Asuka who was on the ring apron but missed. Brooke went to take advantage and roll up Lynch but only got a near fall. Moments later, Brooke went for a senton from the top rope but Lynch moved out of the way just in time.
Lynch went for the ManHandle Slam but Brooke countered for a pin. They were close enough to the ropes that Asuka could hold down Lynch’s foot to assist with the big win for Brooke.
Asuka celebrates on the outside of the ring as Brooke hightails it up the ramp.
The fallout from Hell in a Cell is upon us and will take place on tonight’s Raw.
Bianca Belair is still the Raw Women’s Champion after battling both Becky Lynch and Asuka in one barn burner of a match to open the event on Sunday. Belair would pin Asuka to retain after dumping Lynch out of the ring who was going for the pin herself.
Where will all three women stand on tonight’s Raw moving forward to Money in the Bank in July.
Elsewhere at the premium live event, The Judgment Day successfully defeated Liv Morgan/Finn Balor/AJ Styles. It is being reported that a new member will be added tonight. Will it be a woman?
Alexa Bliss has been on a winning streak since returning. After taking down Sonya Deville and then both Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop in back-to-back weeks.
Set for tonight is a number one contender match to determine Belair’s next opponent. It will be a Fatal 4-way that involves Alexa Bliss vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Liv Morgan vs. Doudrop.
Dana Brooke is no longer 24/7 Champion but two weeks ago she requested a match against Carmella after their run-in. Last week did not bring up that as a possibility still but will it be discussed tonight?
Maryse will also be returning tonight to promote the new season of Miz & Mrs.

In a match that kicked off the Hell in a Cell event on Sunday, Belair defended her championship against Becky Lynch and Asuka in a stellar Triple Threat. These three women proved why they are some of the best in women’s wrestling by putting on a clinic in front of the Chicago fans.
Match Time – 18:55
The back half of the match witnessed Belair rolling to the outside allowing Lynch to apply the DisarmHer to Asuka on the middle ropes. Belair re-enters and trips up Lynch while Asuka takes out the champ with a hip attack. Lynch goes for a pin with a roll-up but Asuka kicks out and then applies the Asuka Lock. After trading some near falls, Asuka goes for the Asuka Lock again but this time Belair tries to break it up but misses with a stomp from the top rope. Asuka breaks the submission on Lynch and goes for a hip attack on Belair but is caught.
Belair plants Asuka with a Glam Slam into the top turnbuckle. Lynch tosses Belair out in order to plant Asuka with the ManHandle Slam and goes for the cover. However, Belair rushes back into the ring and tosses Lynch out to steal the pin on Asuka to get the victory.
Belair had a Digital Exclusive after her match where she said she was the smartEST as a result of the way she stole the pin from Lynch to retain her gold.
This event had a second match which involved the women of Raw. In a six-person tag team match, The Judgment Day (Rhea Ripley/Edge/Damian Priest) defeated the team of Liv Morgan/AJ Styles/Finn Balor.
Match Time – 16:00
The final moments came down to the men, but the women played a role in the finish. Balor went up top to land the Coup de Grace unto Edge to win the match for his team. Ripley jumped in the middle of Balor and Edge which caused Balor to stop. Morgan would rush in and jump on Ripley to take her out of the situation. Edge gets up and spears Balor for the pin and the victory for the strong faction.

WWE’s Hell in a Cell is tonight and there are two matches on the card for the women.
First, there will be a mixed tag team match that pins The Judgment Day (Rhea Ripley/Edge/Damian Priest) against Liv Morgan/Aj Style/Finn Balor. Since joining The Judgment, Ripley has continued her feud with her former tag partner Morgan. Morgan received a pin over Ripley heading into this match. Edge has been trying to recruit more members to the faction, could another woman join the group tonight?
The second women’s match is for the Raw Women’s Championship. Bianca Belair will be defending her title in a Triple Threat against Becky Lynch and Asuka. Asuka first qualified to be Belair’s number one contender after defeating Lynch but in a rematch, Lynch defeated Asuka to put herself into the bout.
Io Shirai has not been on NXT programming since Stand & Deliver which took place over WrestleMania weekend in April. There has been no talk about here whereabouts on screen.
In her last appearance, Shirai was in a Fatal 4-way for the NXT Women’s Title. She faced Mandy Rose, Kay Lee Ray, and Cora Jade. This came after Shirai & KLR won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and cashed in on the singles title. Rose retained the championship match.
In the latest report from Fightful Select, the most recent news on her status is as follows:
Shirai has been out of action for two months since NXT Stand & Deliver and hasn’t been seen on NXT TV. After numerous inquiries over that period, a WWE source confirmed that she’s been sidelined with an injury, but didn’t elaborate on the severity of it or what it was. They also confirmed that for the time being she’d not been factored into creative plans in any way.
Shirai is well liked among the NXT locker room and WWE in general. The WWE sources that we spoke to said that they were hopeful she’d be healed up “in the summer,” but that’s hardly a guarantee.
Check back in with Diva Dirt for further news on Io Shirai and all the women in NXT.
Toxic Attraction stays dominating the NXT 2.0 Women’s Division as all three members walk out of In Your House retaining their titles.
On Saturday, NXT had their latest premium live event and the NXT Women’s Tag Team TItles were in reach for Katana Chance & Kayden Carter. They challenged Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne who are in their second reign as champs.
Chance & Carter came pretty close to winning their first gold after they delivered the tandem neck breaker followed by the 360 splash combination. Carter attempted the pin on Dolin but Jayne pulled her out of the ring from her cover.
Moments later, Jayne hit Carter with a right hand before Dolin executed a German Suplex to get the pin and retain their titles.
The night would continue to go in the favor of Toxic Attraction as Mandy Rose retained her title against Wendy Choo. Rose had to dodge the antics of Choo throughout the match and perhaps it got the best of her when she ripped apart her pillow. Choo would take Rose down to the match with a sleeper but was unable to get her to pass out. Rose would make it to the ropes to cause the breaks.
After Choo tried to go up top, Rose pulled her back down and hit her with a high knee to get the pin and retain her championship.
With Toxic Attractionr retaining their belts, they feel untouchable according to their Digital Exclusive. They feel that there is no other competition left to challenge them.
There was a segment during the broadcast where Tatum Paxley and Lash Legend exchanged some words. Behind them were Sloane Jacobs, Erica Yan, and Brooklyn Barlow. They had just got finished watching a promo for Alba Fyre. As Legend was mocking the promo for Fyre, Paxley asked when she would step up for a match against Fyre.
Legend didn’t seem interested in tussling with Fyre so it would be Paxley that would step up to her. Paxley vs. Fyre is set for this Tuesday’s episode of NXT 2.0.
This upcoming episode of NXT 2.0 will also feature the finals of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. It will be Tiffany Stratton taking on Roxanne Perez. The two had a backstage interview that can be seen below.
Check back in with Diva Dirt for further news and results from the women of NXT 2.0.
NXT 2.0 has its next premium live event tonight and it is In Your House.
Two women’s matches are on the card having both the NXT Women’s Title and NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles set to be defended. Mandy Rose will be defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Wendy Choo. The rest of Toxic Attraction, Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin, will be defending against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter.
Can Toxic Attraction all walk out of In Your House with gold still around their waist or will it be the start of a new era with Choo and the KC’s?
The Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz would love to add more gold to her collection.
Steelz is currently sitting at the top of IMPACT’s Knockouts division and continues to be in a number of first. She was the winner of the first Knockouts Ultimate X match earlier this year and now she is about to step foot into the first Queen of the Mountain Match to defend her championship. But who else would Steelz like to face that is outside of the IMPACT promotion?
While talking about the upcoming Slammiversary event that will celebrate 20-years of the promotion, Steelz spoke with Battleground Podcast.
Somebody tell Kamille I’ll be watching her match 6/11 & she should watch mine 6/19…. Then we can meet up ?? https://t.co/7KA4Clp8tF
“Let’s go outside of IMPACT a little bit because that Kamille, man, I think Kamille and I, we have we’ve been this close, but we haven’t gotten in that ring together yet. I would have loved to step in the ring with Kamille. She’s a champ. I’m a champ. I mean, NWA-IMPACT, I’m sure they did their crossovers at one point. Mickie James, she brought my title over there to NWA one time, so I wouldn’t mind getting in the ring with Kamille, you know? We could do our little champ champ match…..I am the greatest, that beat the greatest. There’s nothing that I can’t do. Especially beating down someone like Kamille. That’s on period.”
Steelz goes on to say she intends to win Queen of the Mountain on June 19, go on to become the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion (which is currently an achievement made by Taya Valkyrie), and would like for Fire ‘N Flava to get back together at some point.
As for Kamille, she is set to defend the NWA World Women’s Championship on June 11 against KiLynn King at Alwayz Ready. On June 6, she will have held the championship for 365-days since defeating Serena Deeb this time last year.
The Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair would like for Sasha Banks and Naomi to tell their side of the story before commenting publicly.
Over the past few weeks, Banks & Naomi have been the talk of the wrestling world following their walk out on the May 16 episode of Raw. Despite being tag champions, the two were booked in a six-pack challenge match to determine the number one contender to face Belair at Hell in a Cell.
They decided to leave the show after what has been concluded wanting better for the tag team championships. Since then, they have been suspended indefinitely and stripped of the tag gold.
Ahead of her match at Hell in a Cell, Belair spoke with Sports Illustrated and was asked her thoughts on the situation. She concluded that it was not her story to tell
“I’ve shared some amazing moments with them both, and I’d rather not speak on it,” Belair says. “That’s their story to share, and they should be the first ones to speak on it.”
Belair’s goal is to remain champion for at least a year where she plans on facing Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 and defeating her as well.
“I have a lot to prove, and I want to keep proving who I am,” Belair says. “I’m an overachiever, and I am always striving to be the best version of myself. I want my reputation to be that every time I step in the ring; it’s going to be a great match.
“I still have a long way to go. The next step is beating Becky and Asuka at Hell in a Cell. I want to carry this all the way to WrestleMania next year, where I can hopefully take down Charlotte [Flair], the fourth Four Horsewoman. I’m trying to go all the way with this. I want to be known as one of the greatest.’”
Check back in with Diva Dirt on Sunday, June 5 for the Hell in a Cell Discussion Post to chat about Belair’s upcoming Triple Threat against Becky Lynch & Asuka.
Athena took AEW by storm by debuting during Double or Nothing last weekend and quickly made a direct path towards the TBS Champion Jade Cargill.
On Dynamite, Athena’s request for a title shot was quickly shot down by Cargill but the champion’s Baddies quickly came to her aide. As a result, Kiera Hogan stepped to Athena and the two had a match this week on Rampage.
The numbers outside the ring for Hogan included Cargill, Red Velvet, and Stokely Hathaway. Velvet would get involved and trip Athena off the apron causing her to come crashing down to the ringside floor. The match would end with Hogan and Athena battling up top before Hogan gets knocked down to the mat. Athena hits her O-Face finisher for the victory and to secure her first win in AEW.
On the June 3 episode of SmackDown, there was a six-pack challenge to determine the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The participants included Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Aliyah, Xia Li, Natalya, and Shayna Baszler. In the end, it would be Natalya pinning Shotzi to get the victory and the opportunity to face Rousey in the future with the gold on the line. There was no date given for their match.
Prior to the match starting, Rousey made her way out to ringside to have a seat by commentary to watch the bout. Rodriguez and Shotzi entered the ring first and second. Aliyah’s music hit after Shotzi was entering the ring. Aliyah would not appear and it turns out that she was locked in the women’s locker room as payback for Aliyah doing the same thing to Shotzi last week.
After the rest of the women made it into the ring, Shotzi would try to convince the referee to ring the bell but Aliyah made her way into the ring just in time. She targeted Shotzi immediately as the two spilled to the outside.
The match had good moments for each woman to show off their talents. It came down to Rodriguez thinking she had the match won after taking out both Shotzi and Natalya. She took them both out in the corner with the spinning corkscrew elbow. Rodriguez followed it up with a one-arm powerbomb to Shotzi. She couldn’t capitalize as Baszler locked in the Kirifuda Clutch. While Baszler was trying to make Rodriguez tap or pass out, Natalya became the opportunist and covered Shotzi pinning her for the three count.
It was confirmed that Lacey Evans is indeed back on SmackDown. PWInsider reported yesterday that she had made a move once again and is now back on the blue brand.
A vignette was aired saying that she will be back next week.
Tonight’s SmackDown has an exciting six-pack challenge set. It will be to determine the number one contender for the Ronda Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship. The participants will be Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Aliyah, and Xia Li.
Tonight's Six-Pack Challenge will determine @RondaRousey’s next challenger for the SmackDown Women’s Championship!
Hell in a Cell is this weekend on Sunday and there are two matches set that included women from Raw. At this time there are no matches set for SmackDown for either the women or the men.
In the past few weeks, it has been Rodriguez that has been getting the matches with Rousey but Shotzi riled up the rest of the locker room last week that anyone could potentially become the number one contender.

WWE has announced that there will be a number one contender match taking place on tonight’s SmackDown. It will be a six-pack challenge and include Raquel Rodriguez vs. Aliyah vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Natalya vs. Shotzi vs. Xia Li.
Last week, Rodriguez had a rematch with the SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The match was cut short when Baszler & Natalya caused the disqualification. This caused the match to turn into a tag team bout which Rousey and Rodriguez would win.
Shotzi convinced Baszler & Natalya to attack Rodriguez and Rousey based on Rodriguez getting more opportunities. Aliyah locked Shotzi in the locker room so she was unable to make a statement herself.
The official WWE preview states –
As the various volatile elements of a very heated SmackDown women’s locker room boil over, Raquel Rodriguez, Aliyah, Shayna Baszler, Natalya, Shotzi and Xia Li will compete in a Six-Pack Challenge to see who can win the right to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.
Anything goes and anything can happen when six of SmackDown’s most sensational Superstars compete for the opportunity to knock The Baddest Woman on the Planet off the top of the mountain, tonight at 8/7 C on FOX.
