The return from the Queen of WWE may be coming soon. It was December when Charlotte Flair had a devastating knee injury in a match against Asuka. She suffered a torn ACL, a torn meniscus, and a torn MCL when she fell from the top rope during the match.
Flair has been rehabbing ever since surgery and has been determined to get back. She has been providing updates along the way and back in February she even said she was ahead of schedule. A torn ACL alone is generally nine months to a year out of action.
On her social media, Flair posted the following video which shows her back in the WWE Performance Center and taking rolls in the ring.
The TBS Champion (and NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion) Mercedes Moné is set to speak on the July 31 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Since last week a lot has happened for Moné. She brought in her security in the form of Kamille who made her official AEW debut as an All Elite talent, and Moné has been booked for All In against Britt Baker.
Kamille attacked Baker last week on Dynamite and on July 25 at San Diego Comic Con, Baker was egged on by Moné which led to Tony Khan booking the match at All In.
Dynamite – July 31
CMLL World Women’s Championship Eliminator: Willow Nightingale vs. Kris Statlander
SummerSlam is this weekend and the event has had a long history with WWE dating back to 1988. For the women, they didn’t get an official match until 1995. This was partly due to the match in 1990 never taking place as Queen Sherri defeated Sapphire by forfeit when Sapphire never showed up.
A couple good matches are to come this Saturday with a very personal rivalry has the Women’s World Title on the line as champion Liv Morgan defends against Rhea Ripley. Nia Jax will also get her Queen of the Ring match win as she challenges Bayley for the WWE Women’s Title.
Although these matches can’t be voted on yet, what is the best SummerSlam match over the years? We are going to have you the Diva Dirt readers vote!
Below in the poll are 36 matches to choose from. You will be able to vote up to 10 matches! The results will be provided on Thursday, August 1.
AEW’s Skye Blue who was injured during a match against Hikaru Shida over a week ago has had surgery. The match took place on Collision and had to be stopped when Skye landed hard off of a Shida crossbody from the ring apron to the floor.
Fellow AEW talent and Blue’s boyfriend Kyle Fletcher posted a photo of her, with her foot and leg in a cast.
Giulia has confirmed wrapping up her dates in Japan and it looks like she will be available for the next NXT premium live event! The next NXT event is set for Sept. 1 in Denver, Colorado for No Mercy.
On July 30, Giulia took to the mic at a Marigold event to state that she has five matches left and that her last date in Japan is August 19. She wants to share the ring with as many women as possible in her last five matches.
Giulia appeared in the NXT crowd back in April at Stand & Deliver and the NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez named her in a promo (along with Stephanie Vaquer) recently.
There’s no confirmation at the time of this writing who will be Giulia’s final opponent in Japan will be. She wrestled against Sareee to crown the first Marigold World Champion which Sareee won.
The first bit of women’s action kicks off with a backstage scene featuring Judgment Day discovering their club house trashed, courtesy of Liv Morgan.
In another intense moment, Maxxine Dupri slaps Chad Gable to stop a post match beatdown after the Alpha Academy took a loss to the Creed Brothers. Gable goes to leave to ring as the W6 enter the arena to stalk their prey but get’s taken out by Nikki Cross.
Zelina Vega admits that the attack from Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville was a wake-up call she needed. But before she can recover, they jump her again.
We see Liv Morgan backstage by the production trucks, talking by a fire. She’s furious about Dominik Mysterio breaking her heart, and she’s tossing his merch and pictures of them into the flames. Liv declares that at SummerSlam, she’s ending her Liv Morgan Revenge Tour by beating Rhea Ripley. She’s determined to stand tall as the “Women’s World Champion.”
Rhea Ripley responds with her own backstage promo, calling Liv’s revenge tour a fantasy. Rhea says that at SummerSlam, it’s her turn for payback. She recounts how Liv cost her three months of her career, took her championship, and tried to mess with her family and her Latino Heat. Rhea’s ready to end Liv’s tour once and for all.
Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance vs. Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark & Sonya Deville
Valkyria starts strong against Deville, slipping through her legs and landing some blows. Stark comes in, only to be caught in a wristlock. The villains get tossed outside, and we go to a break. When we’re back, Valkyria’s in trouble but manages to tag Carter. Chaos ensues, and Valkyria nails a gutwrench powerbomb. The After Party gets interrupted, and Stark hits Carter with the Z360 for the win.
Winners: Shayna, Zoey, Sonya
Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, and Kairi Sane stormed the ring making their return! The Damage CTRL trio quickly cleared the ring with SKY delivering a moonsault, taking out all three opponents on the floor. Damage CTRL then posed triumphantly in the ring.
And to wrap things up, Damage CTRL is back in action next week, with Dakota Kai taking on Sonya Deville.
Not a ton of content for the women last night. The story for Liv and Rhea has been laid out, so I understand why they didn’t want to add any new elements on the go home show but last night felt very much like a paint by numbers. That doesn’t dull my excitement for the SummerSlam match though, Liv has been doing the best work of her career and it would be a shame to see her lose the belt this Saturday. The tag division continues to be given time, it just feels in limbo while we wait for the post mania-SummerSlam stretch to reach it’s conclusion.
Hope to see some of ya’ll tonight in the NXT discussion post!
In case you wanted to see the full match between Bayley vs. Meiko Satomura from the Japan tour, you can! It is shown below.
This was a first time match between the two. Bayley would go on to retain and both would give each other their flowers after the match and on social media. She has been in the industry for 30 years come April.
The Wyatt Sicks aren’t hiding who they are as they became unmasked on the July 29 episode of Raw. They continue their target on Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers.
After The Creed Brothers defeated Akira Tozawa and Otis, the trio (with Gable) taunted and continued an attack on the former Alpha Academy members including Maxxine Dupri. The lights would go out however as the Wyatt Sicks would appear.
Although their identities have never been a secret to fans, since their debuted they have continued to wear masks out at ringside. This time, Joey Gacy (Huskus the Pig), Dexter Lumis (Mercy the Buzzard), and Erick Rowan (Ramblin’ Rabbit) would remove their masks as they were perched on the ring apron. This made Gable back away as he was caught with a thesz press of the turnbuckle by Nikki Cross (Abby the Witch or Sister Abigail) who also appeared unmasked. However, they did a lot to keep Cross’s full face hidden it seems.
Gable retreated up the ramp but was met by Uncle Howdy which made him run off to the side of the stage.
On Sunday, Shayna Baszler returned to GCW’s Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport in the main event to take on Miyu Yamashita. This was Yamashita’s first appearance but Baszler’s second as she defeated TNA’s Masha Slamovich in April.
The match ended in TKO with the final moments involving Yamashita connected with a question mark kick and went for another one, but Baszler countered and briefly locked in an ankle lock. Yamashita broke free of the hold to get a kick to Baszler’s head. Baszler was prepared for the following kick and hit Yamashita with a tombstone for the finish.
Elsewhere at this event, Masha Slamovich defeated Jody Threat. The two TNA Knockouts who are very familiar with one another took it to Bloodsport.
Final moments included Threat getting back to her feet as she connected with some head butts. Slamovich wasn’t phased enough by this as she suplexed Threat and hit her with a running knee for the TKO.

This Raw is also the go home show for SummerSlam which takes place on Aug. 3. The AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm isn’t mincing her words when it comes to her former protege Mariah May. The two are on a collision course towards All In where Storm plans to get her revenge on The Glamour and walk out still as champion.
On July 27 at Battle of the Belts XI, Storm took on Taya Valkyrie in an Eliminator Match. Storm was able to prove why she has been champion for so long and defeated the veteran. After the bout, Storm took to the mic to deliver a promo and a message to May.
”Mariah May, you were perfect. You were all my dreams come to life. And sometimes you were even a better me than I was. But Mariah, you made one minuscule mistake. Because when you had me on my knees, crying, screaming, bleeding, and screaming your name ———you should’ve cut my bloody head off!””
In addition to this, on Battle of the Belts we had the CMLL Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale defeat Deonna Purrazzo in an eliminator match. Purrazzo’s new buddy, Taya Valkyrie tried to interfere in the match, but she was chased out by Thunder Rosa. Nightingale is pushing forward to her match against Kris Statlander.
STARDOM’s top two championships have changed over the weekend with both having new faces to the gold. This took place over the course of two days for the Sapporo Wonder Rendezvous events.
First, we have the Wonder of Stardom Title which changed hands on July 27. Natsupoi was crowned as new champion after defeating Saori Anou who had just won it back from Mika Iwata 12 days prior. This is Natsupoi’s first time as the white belt champion. She is no stranger to gold tho as she has held several other titles sith the promotion.
Next, the top title changed hands as well on July 28. The World Stardom Championship now belongs to Natsuko Tora. She defeated Maika to end her reign at 212 days. This is Tora’s first time as World of Stardom Champion.
Back in 2021, Tora had challenged Utami Hayashishita for this very same top championship but during the match she tore her ACL and the match had to be stopped. Tora received assistance from Saya Kamitani during the match. After Tora’s win, she announced that Oedo Tai is no more and a new faction will form.
Mei Seira also regained the High Speed Championship. This is Seira’s second reign as she defeated Saya Kamitani. Kamitani held the gold for 92 days.
Tonight’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown was a pre-taped episode from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska as the roster is currently overseas in Japan.
To start the show, LA Knight took on Santos Escobar, who was accompanied by Elektra Lopez. Her main involvement in the match was to slap Knight in the face. Escobar would go on to lose, but he and United States Champion Logan Paul would team up to attack Knight after the match.
First up was Naomi, who was interviewed by Byron Saxton following her attack at the hands of Blair Davenport two weeks ago. Naomi said that she doesn’t know what Blair’s issue is with her, but can tell that she’s trying to play mind games, which won’t work. Naomi says that not only will she make Blair feel the glow, she’ll make her respect it. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair join in on the interview, letting her know that they have to handle some business with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
The show returns from commercial as Cargill and Belair make their way out to the ring. Bianca feels like The Unholy Union has been ghosting her and Jade since winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships at Clash at the Castle. But where are the champions? Right behind them! Fyre and Dawn attack Cargill and Belair from behind, but it backfires quickly as they get manhandled by both women outside the ring.
A video package was shown after of WWE’s current tour of Japan. The women featured included video footage and still photos of Damage CTRL, Liv Morgan, Asuka, and Meiko Satomura.
Backstage, Tiffany Stratton was shown sighing in the locker room over the sight of her busted up Money in the Bank briefcase. Queen Nia Jax walks up to her, telling the Buff Barbie that she’ll get her a new briefcase, and that she could still cash in on Bayley, but she has her guaranteed match at SummerSlam. Tiffany’s main motive for tonight is to get revenge on Bayley.
Michin would make her entrance for the main event tag team match, but would soon become the victim of a cheap shot by Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. That would be stopped by Michin’s partner Bayley. The WWE Women’s Champion would come out running and ready to swing a kendo stick at Jax and Stratton. The attack would lead to a 2-on-1 advantage at the start of the match, although Bayley was able to hold her own against Stratton. Michin eventually got up but Jax made sure to hit a Samoan drop on the outside to incapacitate her once again, with the heel team gaining the upper hand both before and after commercials.
It would take a few minutes for Bayley to finally regain ground, as Michin was able to stand up and get a tag in after two unsuccessful attempts from Bayley. Michin scored a near pinfall on Stratton, who kicked out as each team remained unwilling to lose. Bayley would get hit in the face with Tiffany’s MITB briefcase while the referee wasn’t paying attention, costing her the match as Jax hit the Annihilator for the win.
Here’s what’s scheduled for next week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown:
The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) (c) vs Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Red Velvet finally wins gold in her career with ROH/AEW as she is crowned the new ROH Women’s World TV Champion.
Velver defeated the inaugural champion Billie Starkz at Death Before Dishonor on Friday evening. This ended Starkz inaugural reign at 113 days. This was also Starkz one and only title defense.
The final moments was reminiscent of how Starkz won the title against Queen Aminata at Supercard of Honor. Starkz, tried to fake another injury to catch Velvet off guard. Instead, Velvet was able to get ahead of Starkz and hit the Final Slice for the victory.
Elsewhere on the pay-per-view, Leyla Hirsh won a Texas Death Match against Diamante and it was a bloody affair. The final moments was a moonsault from Hirsch from the top of the ladder through Diamante, who was duct taped to a table. This would make the victory for Hirsch as Diamante could not answer the ten count. However, Hirsch was attended to post match as it appears she hit her arm on the way down from the ladder.
SmackDown’s Blair Davenport and NXT’s Riley Osborne have tied the knot. The couple first mentioned their engagement in December.

It is being reported by PWInsider and followed up by Fightful that WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix is no longer with the company.
Phoenix had been working with the company as NXT commentator from 2019 to 2021 and then made appearances on the main roster in 2022 and 2023. Most recent was at Elimination Chamber in 2023 where she teamed with her husband Edge in a win over Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.
Since Edge left WWE to join AEW, now going by his real name Adam Copeland, Phoenix has not been on WWE TV. There is no word at this time if she intends on appearing for AEW.
WWE is still on their Japan live show tour and one last show to go will be a true memory for the current WWE Women’s Champion Bayley.
Satomura laid out the challenge to a championship match in which Bayley gladly accepted. Since being on this tour, Bayley has been teaming with Satomura, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill against Damage CTRL and Tiffany Stratton.
The babyface team that includes Satomura and Bayley have been winning their matches. This is the first time they have shared the ring together.
It was announced on Thursday that Satomura will be retiring in 2025.
Tony Khan is “sick of it” so he finally booked it, Mercedes Moné with Kamille by her side will face Britt Baker at All In with the TBS Championship on the line. Baker tried to get the match booked at Dynamite this week but Moné said “no.”
At San Diego Comic Con, Moné and Kamille (dressed up as Poison Ivy and Bane) interrupted the panel which had Baker on it. Tensions were high, and everyone on stage was holding them back. Khan said he was sick of it (Moné and Baker going at it) so he made the match official as the crowd chanted “book the match.”
After they were separated a backstage moment with Moné and Kamille had the TBS Champion fuming. She specifically said “anyone but Britt Baker.”
After a tumultuous Slammiversary this past Saturday, the TNA Knockouts are continuing where they left off heading into tonight’s Impact!
First, we hear from Rosemary as The Hive regroups stabbing away their past failures. Next week, we finally have the chance to see Rosemary back in action.
In Knockouts action, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne looks to team up with Eric Young to go against Ash By Elegance and Hammerstone in a intergender tag team match. Grace defended her Knockouts World title against Ash this past pay-per-view. Despite the loss, Ash looks to regroup and has a lot more muscle on her side this time around.
The two knockouts start the match and look to shake hands but Grace meets a slap from ASh and starts to go to town on her. Ash manages to get back on her feet to hit a DDT and get the tag out.
Ash gets the tag in and goes after Grace and her team continues to make quick tags to isolate Young in their corner. Grace finally gets the tag in and takes out Ash, but her partner is laid out as well. Grace meets face-to-face with Hammerstone and tries to test her power on him, but transitions into taking Ash out ringside.
Young tries to get to the top tope, but Ash slips him up for Hammerstone to lock in the submission for the win.
What did you think of tonight’s TNA Impact? How was the intergender tag team match? Can Grace get up from this defeat? And are you excited to see Rosemary return? Let us know in the comments!

On this special Blood and Guts edition of AEW Dynamite, surprises were in store and some fresh debuts have shaken up the AEW Women’s Division on the road to All In next month.
To kick off the night, the new CMLL Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale is ready to talk about her recent title victory. But, Nightingale can’t get a word out as Kris Statlander blindsides her and sends her crashing through production boxes. Stokeley proposes that the two women have an Eliminator match for the title next week on Dynamite, with Nightingale too battered for a response.
Next, Britt Baker is set to return to the ring against Hikaru Shida. Baker has been at odds with TBS Champion Mercedes Moné, who has been dodging a potential title match ever since Baker’s return. Tonight she looks to prove herself against former AEW Women’s World Champion Shida and hopes Moné gives her an answer.
The two rivals reignite this old fire and have not missed a beat. Baker looks to find ways to defeat her like she’s done before, but Shida does not look to give up without a fight. The two brawl outside and Baker meets the wrath of Shida.
Shida attempts to go for her patented dive, but Baker is quick to come back and follows with a Slingeblade.
The two are back and forth both drop to their knees. Shida wants to use her kendo stick but gets caught with a snapping neckbreaker. She tries to fight back, but Baker finds a counter and grips in the lock jaw for the win.
Post-win, Moné comes out and acknowledges that Baker wants a TBS title match at All In. Moné answers “No.” And to reiterate her answer, AEW’s recent signing Kamille, makes her debut to demolish Baker in the ring and has seemingly aligned herself with The CEO.
A second debut is also in the works tonight as Owen Hart Cup Winner, “The Glamour” Mariah May, reintroduces herself with a new title in hand and a familiar heel. Unfortunately for her opponent, May makes really quick work of her.
The win is short-lived as “Timeless” Toni Storm arrives from the crowd in disguise, drops the bob, and hammers on May. The referees and security break the two apart and Storm screams if May “prepared to die” because she is ready to go All In on her.
What did you think of tonight’s Blood & Guts? What did you think of Kamille’s debut and pairing with Moné? Will Storm finally get her revenge? Let us know in the comments below!
Raquel Rodriguez may just be back on TV soon according to PWInsider sources. Sources state she will return in the “near future.”

She has been suffering with this condition since the end of last year, but diagnosed in January, and return briefly at the WWE Elimination Chamber event. She last faced Chelsea Green in February where she was victorious.
