A second women’s match has been confirmed for the July 9 episode of NXT. According to NXT’s social media, Sol Ruca will be taking on Fallon Henley. Ruca challenged for the NXT Women’s North American Title over the weekend as Kelani Jordan retained the gold.
In addition, it was previously confirmed at Heatwave that Arianna Grace will face Karmen Petrovic.
After a fantastic 2024 Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday, many fans are saying this was the best women’s one to date.
But what do you think?
Below you will see a poll that gives you the reader a chance to vote. There are eight MITB matches with seven winners. The winner of each is listed first.
AJ Mendez is continuing with her ventures as an actress. She is staring in a new comedy film titled Sacramento alongside Michael Angarano, Kristen Stewart, and Michael Cera. The film debuted at Tribeca Film Festival in June.
In the interview you see below from Screen Rant Plus, Mendez speaks on the movie explaining that she plays the role of an athlete transitioning to the next phase of her life including motherhood.
Mendez also mentions what’s next for her, including an original comic book, a short film, and a horror movie. She says that the Scrappy Heart Productions company, which she is a co-founder of, is trying to represent the unrepresented communities such as the Latino community.
NXT’s Heatwave on Sunday was firing on all cylinders and every match was hot, hot, hot!
For the women there were three matches total with two on the main show, both for championship gold! For the pre show match you can click here.
First we had Sol Ruca challenging Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. And boy was this a show of athleticism! Both women being currently babyfaces, this was just a good and fun match between two talented women. A highlight of the match came from Ruca when she hit a springboard 450 clothesline that nearly won her the title!
In the end though, after a tough battle, Jordan retained off of the split legged moonsault.
The NXT Women’s Title was also on the line as Roxanne Perez defended against Lola Vice. perez showed throughout the match from bell to bell just how vicious she has become. As for Vice, someone who has be underestimated by some fans proved why she belonged in this match!
The battle these two women had would only infuriate Perez as there wasn’t anything she could do to keep Vice down. Vice wanted to win her first championship in WWE and make that call to her mother to celebrate! Unfortunately for Vice, tonight was not her night. After FIVE Pop Rox, Perez finally put away the former MMA fighter.
After the first Pop Rox wasn’t enough, Perez delivered the second one on the announce table! Three, four, and five came one after another until Perez got the three count.
In an exclusive, Perez says until someone actually decides to step up who is on her level, she and her baby will be waiting.
AEW’s first women’s champion, Riho, has announced on her social media that she has fractured her arm. She says she is doing well.
Riho had just returned recently to AEW programming where she confronted Serena Deeb and entered a program with her. She was victorious on Saturday’s episode of Collision against Lady Frost. This was Riho’s first match back since March. It is unknown how long she will be sidelined.
We send our best wishes for her speedy and healthy recovery.
On the NXT Heatwave pre-show on Sunday, Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace teamed up in their home town of Toronto. They were victorious against Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx as Petrovic got the pin on Nyx. The final moments of the match had Nyx roll up Petrovic, but Grace pulled the hair of Nyx from the outside which reversed the pin. Jayne wasn’t able to stop it and had a look of disbelief.
Later in the night, Grace and Petrovic found themselves in Ava’s office. Ava congratulated them but Grace took all the glory saying that if she wasn’t out there they wouldn’t have won. Ava would then book them in singles action for this Tuesday’s NXT to find out who is the better woman.
The talk continues, in regards to WWE bringing mid-card titles, to both Raw and SmackDown.
PWN continues its reports saying that the idea is in the works for both a Women’s U.S. Title and a Women’s Intercontinental Title. This news was broken by the same insider at the end of May.
Fightful Select has weighed in saying that the talent they have spoken to haven’t heard this but other staff were excited of the possibility.
“To follow up on the Women’s IC & US Title rumors, talent we’ve spoken to haven’t heard of the possibility before the reports, but were hopeful it would happen. Other staff we spoke to were also excited about the possibility.”
General Manager of Raw, Adam Pearce has confirmed a mixed tag team match for this Monday’s Raw on July 8. After the past few weeks, we will have a mixed tag team match as Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio will take on the Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio.
Morgan successfully defended her title against Vega last week.
In addition, already scheduled will be Damage CTRL vs. Lyra Valkyria, Kayden Carter, and Katana Chance.
ALGEO: I think this little pairing of Karmen and Arianna is cute. I’m not sure where it’s going at this point in time, but a win here could definitely tell a story even further.
WINNERS: Karmen and Arianna
JOEY: I’m not complaining this match is on the card bc anytime I get to see Arianna, I’m happy but I can’t see the heels taking the loss here. Plus I’m ready for Jacy to move up in the NXT hierarchy, she’s too talented to keep on being overlooked. WINNERS: Jacy & Jazmyn
NICK: With them being in Canada and this team being from Canada, it just makes sense for Arianna and Karmen to win. Even though they are a complete makeshift and I don’t see them sticking together, it should be a fun little match.
WINNERS: Arianna and Karmen
NXT Women’s North American Title
ALGEO: I don’t think Kelani is losing the title this early on in her title run. I would not mind seeing Sol Ruca taking the title but at this point, I do believe they’re both equal contenders for the title. Some gold for Sol is long overdue, but we gotta let Lani cook for a little bit.
WINNER: Kelani Jordan
JOEY: I feel like I’ve been so conditioned by NXT booking to not get used to likable babyfaces which is why I can see Sol winning here thus causing Kelani to turn on her but NXT really doesn’t need anymore heels. I’m not sure what taking a loss here does for Ruca but let’s go Lani!
WINNER: Kelani Jordan
NICK: I am so bummed that Sol is getting a shot this soon. There’s no way Kelani is losing this match but Sol being a champion is everything I want. I do love Kelani, so I hope she gets a nice reign as inaugural champ. The babyface vs. babyface dynamic makes it harder to root for. It makes me feel that maybe someone else will get involved.
WINNER: Kelani Jordan
NXT Women’s Championship
ALGEO: I don’t think Roxanne is losing this title anytime soon, especially to Lola. Lola has done a good job at building herself as a potential threat to her title. But, I don’t think it’s the right time yet for her in my humble and honest opinion. Roxanne is arguably the best sound wrestler this roster has, and there’s a lot of potential to just help the division up as its champion.
WINNER: Roxanne Perez
JOEY: Out of all three matches on the card, this is the one I’m looking forward to the most. Roxanne is on another level atm, she’s such a joy to watch in the ring and Lola has a chip on her shoulder and is hungry to prove herself. Lola’s sudden face turn makes me believe she’s not winning here but she’s a favorite amongst management so it’s hard to predict. My gut tell me the champ is retaining though so….
WINNER: Roxanne Perez
NICK: This one is a no brainer. I truly believe it was going to be Giulia’s debut, so they had to turn at the last minute and go with Lola. I like Lola, but she doesn’t scream main eventer to me right now. I almost feel as though she should be facing Kelani and Sol should be facing Roxanne.
Tiffany Stratton is your new Ms. Money in the Bank as she becomes the seventh woman in history to hold the briefcase.
On Saturday, Stratton climbed to the top of the ladder and unclipped the briefcase only after thwarting Chelsea Green. Green was just mere seconds away from winning herself despite her fear of heights. However, Stratton dumped the ladder that Green was on as she came crashing down two ladders (that she helped set up) on the outside.
Green wasn’t the only woman who was mere seconds away either as all six women (including Naomi, Zoey Stark, IYO SKY, and Lyra Valkyria) were that close to winning. And a spot with Stark and SKY was arguably the spot of the night as both women came crashing down on another ladder from a sunset flip.
Stratton ran into the MITB host Trish Stratus backstage after her win. Stratus told Stratton to not get too arrogant or ahead of herself because what happens after the cash in is what really matters. Either becoming a future hall of famer or a flash in the pan.
WWE continues to bring back prior pay-per-view names for new premium live events. The company has confirmed the prior Bad Blood event for the first time in 20 years. Only used three times, it will be returning this October on the 5th. It was used in 1997, 2003, and last time in 2004.
As women wrestling wasn’t a priority back then, the women only had one match out of these events and that was in 2004. There was a Fatal-four way match which had Trish Stratus winning her fifth championship. Victoria was the champion heading into the match and also included Gail Kim and Lita.
Tonight is MITB and although we only have one women’s match, it should be a good one. Trish Stratus will be our host! The show sill START at 7 PM ET.
Here are the six women who will be in this year’s match:
IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Zoey Stark
You will find the Diva Dirt staff prediction below:
ALGEO: If there is one woman in this world who can rock a match like this and match all that green it’s Naomi. A run with the briefcase will be all she needs to help carry her momentum within this run. Plus, we all know that Naomi has always got a bit of Moné on her side.
WINNER: Naomi
JOEY: I feel like this is said every year with the women’s money in the bank winner, whomever wins this year should have a lengthy run as Ms MITB. That being said, I feel like the Smackdown division has a better chance at winning the briefcase. Any of the 3 would be great choices but my vote is for the hot mess herself.
WINNER: Chelsea Green
NICK: I really like the field this year. No offense to IYO but I would have replaced her with someone like Kiana only because she won it last year. But everyone else could really use this win. I want Naomi to win because I feel she needs this, but something is telling me it isn’t happening. So I am going with the home country gal.
WINNER: Chelsea Green
Don’t forget to check back in with Diva Dirt tonight to chat about the show live in the MITB discussion post!
After AEW Rampage from Friday, we now know the two women who will fight to win this year’s Owen Hart Cup. The finals take place this Wednesday, July 10, on Dynamite.
We first have last year’s winner Willow Nightingale who is looking to take back to back years. She defeated Serena Deeb in round one and Kris Statlander in the semi-finals. Her opponent in the finals we now know will be Mariah May. May defeated Saraya in round one and on Friday she took out Hikaru Shida.
May’s victory was something of concern, because if she wins it all, she earns a championship match against Toni Storm. Storm seemed rather elated by the win and even wanted the bosom of May this time.
Storm will be facing Trish Adora on Saturday’s episode of Collision.
We are less than a day away from Money in the Bank taking place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and there’s much to look forward to. Aside from the legend, the icon, the moment, the 7-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus being the host for tomorrow night’s show, we’ll also be seeing six women battle it out for a Money in the Bank contract. Note to both Liv Morgan and Bayley: watch out, because you never know who might cash in and what title they have in mind.
All of that takes place tomorrow, but tonight, the focus is on Friday Night SmackDown. It’s one final chance for the female fighters of Team Blue to prove themselves before tomorrow’s big night. Let’s get started!
Jackie Redmond interviewed Bayley to ask about the process of winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, having been winner of the 2019 match. Bayley says the Money in the Bank ladder match is one of the most brutal yet rewarding matches in WWE, but you have to stay mentally sharp as timing is important. She gets interrupted by Chelsea Green, who says her advice is almost as irrelevant as she is; in fact, she wouldn’t even be Women’s Champion had it not been for Green’s “illegal” ejection for interfering in the match between her and Piper Niven at Clash at the Castle. As Chelsea is one of the competitors in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match, she declares that she will be coming for Bayley’s title when she becomes “Cha-Ching Chelsea” and wins. The interruption is a set up as Piper attacks Bayley from behind and throws her into a box, with Green making the final statement that she’ll be coming to Bayley with a Money in the Bank contract and become the WWE Women’s Champion.
This wouldn’t be the first time Bayley appeared this week. Following the backstage attack, she was seen leaving the office of SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis. Naomi approaches her to check if she’s okay, with the champ saying that she’s sick of them. Turns out, she had been talking to Aldis to make a match between her and Piper Niven later on. Naomi mentions that she’s got Bayley’s back, but it was noted by fans that her demeanor seemed to change once the champ turned around.
Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae made their way out to the ring for tag team action, in their latest encounter against Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Unfortunately, the show went on a commercial break, but once the show returned, the match was already ongoing. Jade initially held control but was quickly overtaken by LeRae and Hartwell, double teaming on her and making sure she was far from Bianca. Both Cargill and Hartwell ended up hitting big boots on each other, which laid them out and opened up an opportunity to tag in their respective partners. Once tagged in, Belair launched a quick and fiery offense on LeRae and almost got a near fall on her. The match would end with both Jade and Bianca hitting Jaded and a KOD on LeRae and Hartwell, with Cargill getting the pin for her and Belair.
Cathy Kelley would interview them following the match, with Bianca saying that while the past few months have been rough, her and Jade are here to finish what they started, which is to get back the Women’s Tag Team Championships from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, and Jade chimes in to thank them for keeping the belts warm for them. Both women know that regaining their title is inevitable. Any last words? “We’re gonna see you soon.”
It was then time for Bayley to have her match. With Naomi by her side, she would be taking on Piper Niven, who would have Chelsea Green in tow. IYO SKY was in the crowd of the arena, watching Bayley’s entrance with a focused facial expression; we would later see brief cuts to Zoey Stark and Lyra Valkyria also observing the action, who like SKY will also be competing in the Money in the Bank ladder match. From the outset of the match, Niven made sure to demonstrate her domineering moveset on the champ, trying to make an example out of her after her loss in Scotland three weeks ago. Tiffany Stratton, another MITB competitor, would make her way out to the ring and kept an even closer eye on the match. Chelsea and Naomi would go on to have a fight outside the ring, but IYO, Zoey, Lyra, and Tiffany would join in. The commotion would cost Piper the match, resulting in another loss to Bayley.
The champ didn’t get to leave unscathed as Nia Jax would attack her inside the ring immediately after winning. Basking in glee over her attack, Michin, who has had issues with Jax throughout the past two months, would come running her off with a kendo stick in hand, saving Bayley.
Money in the Bank airs live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, tomorrow night on Saturday, July 6th, at 7 p.m. EST on Peacock. The following matches are set to take place:
Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match: IYO SKY vs. Chelsea Green vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi vs. Zoey Stark
Next week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown (July 12) is set to include the following:
Michin vs Nia Jax (with Tiffany Stratton)

Two women’s matches have been added to the July 6 episode of AEW Collison!
First, following her successful win against Mina Shirakawa to retain the AEW Women’s World Title at Forbidden Door, Toni Storm will be in action. She will be facing Trish Adora.
Next, we will see a return to the ring by Riho. Riho returned last week to make a save against Serena Deeb. She will be in action against Lady Frost.
During the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament, a video that was posted by Tiffany Stratton on her Instagram Story. This made the rounds on social media and for all the wrong reasons.
For those that may have missed it, Stratton shared a pre made video clip of a tag team match where she knocked Jade Cargill off of the ring apron. On the video was a popular audio clip stating “Black Bitch.”
Stratton quickly removed the post. This had a lot of eyes on Stratton for posting it in the first place even though she didn’t make it and it wasn’t her audio.
When asked about it by Adrian Hernandez in an interview prior to MITB, Stratton clears up what happened.
“It was an honest mistake. I didn’t hear the audio. I had it up for maybe 20 seconds and I deleted it instantly as soon as I heard the audio. It was an honest mistake,” she said.
Stratton will be one of six women in the MITB ladder match this Saturday. She defeated Jade Cargill and Candice LeRae in a Triple Threat to qualify.
Ahead of Money in the Bank on Saturday, WWE did their Kick Off panel on Friday. Each woman for the Money in Bank Ladder match was interviewed by Michael Cole in Toronto.
The order of the panel was IYO SKY, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, Naomi, Zoey Stark, and the home country girl, Chelsea Green. Green received a huge ovation from the crowd. In fact, all of the women received a good response outside of the villainous Zoey Stark.
Before we got to Green at the end of the panel, Cole mentioned how the Kick Off event started with Toronto’s own Trish Stratus. And he reminded Stark of their relationship with Stratus. Stark said that Stratus was too old to still be in the business.
As for Green, she says she has some ideas that will help her win MITB without even climbing a ladder. Regardless, the briefcase needs her more than she needs the briefcase.
Marigold’s Giulia was originally expected for this Sunday’s NXT Heatwave event. However, an injury has caused to push that appearance back but she will be facing Sareee at Marigold’s nect event on July 16.
The highly decorated Japanese talent is wanted on NXT programming as soon as possible and to be at the next NXT premium live event. This will likely be SummerSlam weekend.
Per Fightful Select:
Giulia may not be at NXT Heatwave, but fans may not have too much longer to wait to see her on the brand.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has had sources in both NXT and Marigold claim that she will not be present in Toronto for NXT Heatwave on Sunday, and will be on the road with Marigold this weekend. We have not heard of any plans for a video appearance from Giulia, or any other form of appearance on the show as of this writing. PWN had also noted this today.
However, in speaking with other sources in NXT, Brennan learned that the expectation is that Giulia will feature on the next NXT Premium Live Event, but there has been no confirmation on when that will be, although NXT sources believe SummerSlam weekend is a likely landing spot for NXT’s next PLE. These same sources maintain that WWE want Giulia on screen “as soon as possible” but acknowledge that Giulia has Marigold commitments to complete before this is a possibility.
With regards to her current injury, while she has yet to be cleared, the expectation with those we spoke to is that she will be cleared in time to face Sareee at Marigold Summer Destiny next weekend.
Creatively, we are told that following her injury, “everything is on the table” for how Giulia could debut on the brand, with an NXT Women’s Title challenge still expected, but not guaranteed.
For those questioning if Giulia has signed with WWE, she joined the company during WrestleMania weekend.
Trish Stratus will be at Money in the Bank as the host!
The seven time women’s champion and WWE Hall of Famer Stratus has posted a video following up from her teaser yesterday. This time she lays it all out there. With hashtags of MITB and saying she will see us tomorrow, Stratus pulls up to the ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto, Ontario Canada in her Ferrari.
Stratus has not been seen on WWE TV since she lost to Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage match at Payback in September. What better way to introduce her into the fold than her hometown! Also, she may need to get some revenge on someone in particular in that ladder match?
On this Independence Day edition of TNA Impact! Things get a bit chaotic as the Knockouts march towards Slammiversary in just two weeks.
To kickoff Knockouts action tonight the team of Spitfire, Dani Luna and Jody Threat, will go face-to-face in a 10-minute challenge per Lars Frederiksen.
The two lock up and are even throughout the entire match. Both continue to wrestle respectfully and engage in a test of chain wrestling. The team eventually realizes they can’t hold back anymore and Threat manages to take down Luna a few times, but Luna seemingly won’t go down without a fight. The two find themselves on the top rope and Luna sends them both crashing via Superplex, and follows up with a Falcon Arrow.
Unfortunately, the referee has to ring the time bell. But, the team wants to keep going until they reach a victor. Five more minutes are added to the match, but the Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Masha Slamovich and Alisha Edwards cut this match even shorter to send a statement.
Backstage, we catch a glimpse of PCO going haywire as he’s trying to bring Steph De Lander back to life after getting put through a table a couple of weeks ago.
Next in Knockouts action, we see an intergender tag-team match as Rebecca Hardy and Matt Hardy take on The System’s Alisha Edwards and Eddie Edwards. Both couples have been at each other’s throats since their debacle Against All Odds. This marks Reby’s first match in eight years.
Both women are playing possum in the beginning of the match, and let their men take over. The two finally get the tag in and the Hardys finally start to gain the advantage over the other team. However, Rebecca meets the interference of Eddie and the Edwards family takes over the matchup.
Matt manages to save Rebecca from this onslaught. The numbers gain slows down the Hardys, but Rebecca turns it around hitting thealowblow on Eddie. The husband and wife duo follow up with dual Twist Of Fates and pick up the win for tonight.
Lastly, we see TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace sending a message to Ash By Elegance before their title match at Slammiversary. While Ash is on vacation, Grace issues another open challenge for her title next week on Impact!
What did you think of tonight’s TNA Impact? Who can stand up to the dominance of Grace? And is Spitfire ready for the future ahead? Let us know in below!
The ROH Women’s TV Champion Billie Starkz is now booked in her first title defense since becoming the inaugural champion in April. At Supercard of Honor, Starkz had a very controversial victory over Queen Aminata. Now she will defend against Red Velvet at the upcoming Death Before Dishonor event on July 26.
Over the past few months, tensions have raised between Starkz and the ROH Women’s Champion Athena against Aminata and Red.
It has also been confirmed that Aminata will challenge Athena, who had been saying she had an injury, and has held the championship nearing 600 days.
The news was confirmed in the promo below during the July 4 episode of ROH.
Money in the Bank is this Saturday and it will be on WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus’ hometown of Toronto, Ontario Canada. Still on the active WWE roster, fans have not seen Stratus since September where she lost to Becky Lynch inside a Steel Cage at Payback.
On July 4, Stratus made a post on her social media. It is a simple post of her just walking and looking back in her wrestling merch but where is she heading? Could we see her return at MITB in her hometown?
Stratus has gone on record lately along with Lita stating that there is unfinished business. Also stating that retirement isn’t a word that is in their vocabulary and they stay ready.
The semi-finals continues for the Owen Hart Cup. We already had last year’s winner Willow Nightingale advance to this year’s finals as she defeated Kris Statlander on Dynamite. Her opponent for the finals is now set after Rampage.
Owen Hart Cup Semi Finals: Mariah May def. Hikaru Shida
