Lyra Valkyria Set For OTT Wrestling Return In December

0

The former NXT Women’s Champion and current WWE Raw Superstar, Lyra Valkyria, is going to take a trip home.

OTT Wrestling announced Valkyria’s homecoming to the promotion is set for Dec. 21. Valkyria is a former OTT Women’s Wrestling Champion, which she held for 153 days in 2019.

More on her return to the promotion has been shared on Fightful Select.

On November 22nd, Over The Top Wrestling announced that on December 21st, Lyra Valkyria will return to the promotion along with her former Woke Queen partner Debbie Keitel.

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan asked around in OTT and was met with surprise regarding the announcement, with several people we spoke to finding out about Lyra’s return to the promotion through social media, with some also expressing their surprise to see Debbie Keitel returning to OTT along with her former Woke Queens’ partner.

One source we spoke to in OTT noted that it was expected to be a really special moment for the two women, and stated that they would like to see a reunion of the tag team. Another source noted the impact Finn Balor and JD McDonagh’s appearance was felt throughout Irish wrestling and expects the same from Lyra’s appearance.

We have also heard of promotions signing contracts with WWE prior to their talent making outside appearances. One source we spoke to expects more WWE talents to start popping up more often in European independent promotions in 2025. As we’d previously reported, Lyra was in attendance for ScrapperMania earlier this year, supporting her now fiancé LJ Cleary.

On this past week’s Raw, Valkyria received a vignette hyping up her character.

Mina Shirakawa: Plans To Wrestle Lots Of Matches As Rose Gold With Mariah May

STARDOM’s Mina Shirakawa recently returned to AEW and is ready to celebrate Mariah May at Full Gear with a Champagne Celebration. She also had a victory herself recently against Harley Cameron. The duo together were known as Rose Gold in STARDOM.

While speaking with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Shirakawa spoke on how long she intends to stay in the United States.

“I’ve been making Mariah (May) wait a lot, and I plan to stay in the United States until her feelings of loneliness are gone. I’m here to celebrate her championship win and wrestle a lot of matches as [our team] Rose Gold. Our friendship hasn’t changed in the slightest. We’re still best friends forever. However, I am a little concerned that she’s acting a bit weird recently … but I think with me by her side, she’ll calm down again soon enough.”

In the recent Full Gear media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan said the following about keeping Shirakawa as long as he can in the promotion.

“I am optimistic to keep Mina with us a lot. Mina Shirakawa fits in very well in AEW and she has been a great part of the show. We’d like to have her here as much as possible.

Coming up after Full Gear, I’m optimistic that Mina Shirakawa can join us more frequently and we’ll see what that can be as far as her schedule with AEW and STARDOM simultaneously. We have a great relationship with STARDOM now and I love working with STARDOM, Mr. Okada, and the great Bushiroad executives. Mina Shirakawa is a great star for STARDOM and also, now, a great star for AEW in America and all over the world.

I feel Mina Shirakawa adds a lot to AEW and I would like her to stay indefinitely, more regularly, and be with us more frequently. Thankfully, STARDOM is open to that and they’ve been very kind about opening her schedule up to us. I expect to see Mina Shirakawa a lot in AEW going forward.”

Charlotte Flair Teases Her WWE Return

The 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair seems more eager than ever to return to the ring. Flair has been out of action for nearly a year as she went out in December 2023 with a knee injury.

On her social media, Flair posted a block of ice which would explode revealing a diamond with a hologram of herself inside.

The latest rumors of a Flair return came in October where news stated she would be involved with the build to WrestleMania 41.

WWE has not announced any official return for Flair at the time of this writing.

Masha Slamovich Retains Ahead of The Juggernaut; The Elegance Brand Proves Successful

We’re just eight days away from Turning Point next week, but the fate of the Knockouts Division could be changed tonight on the road to the pay-per-view.

TNA Impact! starts out tonight with the TNA Knockouts World Championship on the line. Masha Slamovich had posed a challenge to Alisha Edwards last week after Edwards ran off on her mouth yet again. But in this bout, it is No Disqualifications.

Before the ring announcement can even finish, Edwards attacks Slamovich but the Knockouts Champion fights back. Edwards spills out toward the ring and catches an airborne Slamovich with a trash can lid. A chair comes into play and Edwards lands a DDT on the chair to gain back control.

Edwards unfortunately gets greedy and charges into the chair as Slamovich dodges out of the way in the corner. Slamovich brings a trash can into play and sets up Edwards on the top rope. She tries to Superplex Edwards into the trash can, but Edwards rakes her eyes and sends Slamovich into the trash can only for a two-count.

A frustrated Edwards tries to take Slamovich out with a kendo stick, but Slamovich catches it and turns the tide to hit her finish and retain the title.

Before Slamovich can even celebrate, Tasha Steelz attacks her from behind. In comes, former champion Jordynne Grace to make the save, but it looks like her main focus is the the rematch for the gold come Turning Point.

Next, one-half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, Jody Threat, takes on Ash By Elegance tonight. Spitfire and The Elegance Brand have been at odds for weeks now, and the two teams look to get a one-up on each other tonight.

As the bell rings, Ash cowers her way out of a lockup. Eventually, Threat steps on her hand and finally gets some strong offense in. Ash inadvertently sends Threat into the ring post, and Heather attempts to take advantage of a distracted referee.

Ash is in total control at this point in the match, but Threat tries to turn this match around after a quick roll up. Threat props Ash to the top rope, but Heather tries to get involved again. Dani Luna tries to put a stop to this, but Ash drops Threat and hits Rarified Air to pick up the win.

Savannah Evans looks to get back in action tonight after her vicious attack against Lei Ying Lee a couple of weeks back. Her opponent tonight is Brittany Jade, but is soon to find out about the vicious wrath of Evans and meets a quick end.

Backstage, we catch a glimpse of Slamovich and Grace chatting backstage. Slamovich ups the odds this Turning Point and makes the rematch a 2 out of 3 Falls match. Both agree on these terms but have more to prove come next week Saturday.

What did you think of tonight’s TNA Impact? Has The Elegance Brand gotten into the head of Spitfire? Who comes out Knockouts Champion come Turning Point? Let us know below!

ROH Review: Athena Defeats Leila Grey In Proving Ground Match!

0

Hello everyone, welcome to the fight club! On thursday night, top flight Leila Grey challanged The forever champion and fallen goddess Athena in a proving ground match.

The only thing the ROH baddie needed to do to earn a title match was to defeat Athena or last at least 10 minutes in the ring.

Dressed in a white and platinum ensemble, Leila made her way to the ring, while Athena sported her personalized title belt and a translucent green outfit detailed with soda can taps.

Highlights of the match included a spot in the steel steps and a powerbomb counter, going back and forth until Athena playfully defeated Leila by choking her out with a triangle choke, tapping out after a couple of seconds.

Leila was unable to land her plane for a championship match, but got a fair loss out of it.

ROH Final Battle airs next December 20th. Who do you think could challenge the Minion Overlord for the championship? Let us know in the comments below!

Kris Statlander Drives Her Statement Forward; Rose Gold Back In Action

We are a shy three days away from AEW Full Gear, but tonight on AEW Dynamite the women look to heat things up heading into the next pay-per-view.

Kris Statlander attempts to get steam-rolling heading into her match this Saturday for Mercedes Moné’s TBS Championship. But tonight, she has a lot to prove as she attempts to get through a formidable opponent, former AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida.

The two shake hands and lock up and the two are at an even playing field. Statlander manages to sweep the feet of Shida, but Shida finds a counter to her play. Shida wears down Statlander to the corner and gets in a dropkick. Statlander tries to make her way to safety, but Shida strikes with a knee on the apron to gain control.

The two end up clashing in the middle of the ring, and Statlander attempts to gain back her momentum in this match. Shida tries fights back and attempts to get in a Katana kick, but Statlander counters and plants Shida for the win.

Statlander and Shida shake hands, but the lapse in respect is interrupted by none other than The CEO herself. Moné boasts to the crowd in Reading, Pennsylvania but they are having none of it. The crowd is getting her angry and commands Kamille to take out both competitors in the ring. Her attempt fails injured arm and all, and Moné tries to hit a backstabber but Statlander counters it into a Piledriver.

Renee Paquette is backstage with the AEW Women’s World Champion, Mariah May, along with her Rose Gold tag team partner Mina Shirakawa. The two are looking to party come Full Gear with a champagne celebration, but have a tag team match this Friday on Rampage.

Paquette is backstage once again with Jamie Hayter, whose interview was cut unceremoniously by Julia Hart. She then gets cut even shorter with some harrowing imagery of Hart herself.

What did you think about tonight’s go-home show? Can Statlander be the one to defeat The CEO? Will Rose Gold come out successful this weekend? Let us know in the comments below!

B-Fab Receives Praise From WWE

0

It has taken one on-screen match with two ring veterans to show how much potential B-Fab has and how much she shines. Her hard work to get here is not going unnoticed either.

Since her Triple Threat against Bayley and Candice LeRae last week on SmackDown, Fightful Select has a report from WWE sources praising the talent.

Per Fightful Select:

B-Fab got an opportunity on WWE Smackdown, and plenty of people in WWE were happy about it.

B-Fab wrestled on the November 15 episode of Smackdown in the United States Title tournament, and also was featured in a backstage segment. There were a number of staff and talent watching the match from Gorilla and backstage, as we’re told B-Fab has gained a reputation for working hard to improve.

B-Fab has been going to the New Hart Dungeon run by Natalya and Tyson Kidd, becoming one of their most frequent visitors. We’re told that she’s been anxious to wrestle more, as well. She was put in tag team matches on a recent overseas live tour, and we’re told did well enough to get more opportunities on screen.

“Her initiative goes a long way. She’s been called up, released, brought back, put with a different group. She’s going above and beyond to make herself as available, useful and versatile as she can and always has a good attitude,” said one WWE producer.

In another post by Fightful Select during a Q&A a reader asked if B-Fab was going to be utilized more or if this match was just because they needed someone for the tournament.

Per Sean Ross Sapp –

As best I know, there are a number of people pushing for her to get more opportunities, both on the talent side and the agent side. She did nothing to prevent future opportunities on Friday!

B-Fab had a backstage segment with Michin, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven as well on Friday. This led to a tease of a tag team with Michin who B-Fab has been having matches with at live events.

Announced today, B-Fab will be in the upcoming Speed Tournament to determine current champion Candice LeRae’s next opponent. B-Fab will be taking on her trainer Natalya in the first round.

If you haven’t yet posted your nominations for the 2024 Year End Fan Awards, do so please!

Allie Talks Rosemary In NXT, Says She “Bawled Her Eyes Out”

Allie and Rosemary have a big history together in TNA. That is up until 2019 when Allie was “killed off” and “died” in Rosemary’s arms. This was a way for Allie to leave the promotion as she went to AEW.

The recent crossovers and working relationship with TNA and WWE has been very fun for many. This includes Rosemary who has made several appearances on NXT, mostly with Wendy Choo.

Allie spoke with Captain’s Corner in a virtual signing recently and had the following to say about her former comrade.

“A huge moment for me was seeing Rosemary on NXT. I bawled my eyes out. I had no idea until my trainer Ryan told me at the gym, and I immediately started crying. I had no idea. He casually said, ‘Rosemary was on NXT.’ I remember I was doing bicep curls, and I was like, ‘Pardon?’ I started immediately crying,” said Allie.

Allie left AEW this time in November last year.

Toni Storm Says She’s “Not Used To Being A Loser”

Timeless Toni Storm appears to be fed up.

Ever since losing the AEW Women’s World Championship, she hasn’t been on AEW and any other promotion she has been working in since she has been losing matches. She doesn’t want to show her face in public again.

“I’m not used to being a loser,” Storm told James Dator of SBNation, “I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that. AEW is just fine without me. Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.” (Fightful)

She even changed her famous catchphrase to something rather somber. “Chin down. Tits in. Don’t bother watching for the shoe.”

Please provide your nominations (if you haven’t) for the Year End Fan Awards.

Nick Aldis Calls Liv Morgan The MVP Of 2024

0

SmackDown’s General Manager Nick Aldis speaks very highly of the current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. There is no doubt that the rise of Morgan has hit the top of the charts in 2024. Booking aside to some, Morgan has arguably had the best year of her career.

Liv Morgan, to me, is the MVP of 2024,” Nick Aldis told Chris Van Vliet on Insight“I’ve told her a couple of times, ‘You are crushing it.’ A good heel has to have some self-awareness. You have to know what impression you give off when you walk in the room. Liv Morgan is a stunningly good-looking girl. That can work against you. She finally realized, ‘I can use that.’ I gave her a piece of advice, she doesn’t need it, but I offered it anyway. I was like, ‘Your heat reminds me of Shawn (Michaels) in 1997.’ Shawn had that swagger. He was so good, you couldn’t be like, ‘You suck.’ No, he did not suck. He was so demonstratively the best performer by a long way in 1997. (Hulk) Hogan was a huge star in WCW, Sting was cooking with Crow Sting, NWO was hot, (Steve) Austin was coming up, Bret (Hart) was Bret, but Shawn was so on his game and you couldn’t take it away. He was so good in the ring. He started using that, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ and he was good-looking. He was calling out, ‘Your girl would leave you for me.’ That’s heat. Liv has that same thing. We’ve got a lot more women in the audience these days, and they’re like, ‘She is really good-looking.’ It’s totally believable that she would steal someone’s boyfriend.” (Fightful)

Morgan is at 179 days and counting in her second reign as a world champion. She will be leading her team in WarGames this year. Unless she drops the title before the year ends, she will be well over 200 days as champion. However, her next challenger is slated to be IYO SKY.

WWE has released the newest brackets.

Parker shows impressive strength early on, but Vaquer counters by targeting the arm, putting Parker in a vulnerable position. Parker regains momentum by driving Vaquer into the corner and hitting a sit-down splash before the break.

Back from commercial, Parker executes a reverse suplex for two, transitioning into a double-arm submission. Vaquer powers through with a running Meteora in the corner, followed by a figure-four necklock slam. Parker fires back with a Falcon Arrow for a near fall, but interference from Lola Vice disrupts her momentum. Vaquer capitalizes with a superkick and a package backbreaker for the win.

Winner: Stephanie Vaquer

Mixed Tag Team Match: Karmen Petrovic & Ashante “Thee” Adonis vs. Brinley Reece & Dio Lennox

In a playful nod to college football, the teams come out in Washington State and Oregon State gear. Early confusion over who starts the match gives way to chaos in the ring. Petrovic takes control by targeting Reece’s arm, while Adonis uses his speed to counter Lennox’s power moves. A flirty distraction from Adonis gives Petrovic the opening to land a decisive kick on Reece, securing the pinfall victory.

Winners: Karmen Petrovic & Ashante “Thee” Adonis

Iron Survivor Qualifying Match: Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair

With Charlie Dempsey in her corner, Sinclair struggles against Zaria’s overwhelming strength. Zaria dominates early, shrugging off rollup attempts and landing suplexes with ease. A distraction from Dempsey allows Sinclair to briefly rally, hitting a dive and a rollup for two. Zaria quickly regains control, delivering a thunderous spear followed by an F5 to secure her victory.

Winner: Zaria

After the break, Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyz, and Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence cut in-ring promos. Henley announces an open challenge for her North American Championship next week. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson interrupt, eager to accept the challenge.

The chaos escalates as Nikkita Lyons joins the fray, followed by Adrianna Rizzo attacking Lyons. A massive brawl ensues with multiple women getting involved. As the dust settles, Tatum Paxley executes her finisher on Henley and poses with the championship belt, setting the stage for next week’s title defense.

Karmen Petrovic and Ashante Adonis share a moment backstage, showing sparks of chemistry. However, Nikkita Lyons interrupts, demanding Adonis text her back. The tension causes Petrovic to storm off, clearly upset.

Another solid episode of NXT. The Iron Survivor Challenge continues to deliver engaging storylines, and while not every segment was perfect, the show is doing a commendable job of showcasing its talent. See you next week!

Dakota Kai Says She’s Ready To Show Everyone Why She’s A Champion, PFC Responds

0

Dakota Kai made her return from a fourth month absence last week on Raw. She was taken out by Pure Fusion Collective and now she’s back and ready to prove to everyone why she’s a champion.

Kai presents herself on this week’s Raw in a vignette seen below. She says she has never loved this or wanted this more.

PFC had a backstage interview as a response from their loss to the returning Kai and Damage CTRL last week. All three women didn’t seem impressed by Byron Saxton’s interview skills, but Sonya Deville did state that she has a plan as Zoey Stark mocks Saxton when they walk away.
