Full Card Announced for This Friday’s SHINE 15

The complete card has been announced for SHINE 15, which will set out to tie up plenty of loose ends as their last show of 2013.

As confirmed at the end of the last SHINE show, SHINE Champion Rain will face Amazing Kong in the main event. With this set to be Rain’s final match before her imminent retirement from wrestling, and with Kong now flanked by Daffney and her All-Star Squad, the odds are certainly in Kong’s favour. However, if we’ve learned anything from Rain’s tenure in SHINE, it’s been to expect the unexpected.

Also, Jessicka Havok gets an opportunity to pay back Allysin Kay for her betrayal at SHINE 14 when they go one-on-one in the ring together. At October’s show the two best friends briefly appeared to have reconciled, only for Kay to attack Havok during her Last Woman Standing bout against Saraya Knight, costing her the match and their friendship.

Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle of the S-N-S Express have been a thorn in the side of the American Sweethearts (Santana Garrett and Amber O’Neal) over the past couple of shows, and this Friday they have the opportunity to see them off once and for all as the two teams face off in a match where the losing team must break up.

Meanwhile, Leva Bates and the S-N-S Express’s remaining member Nevaeh are all too familiar with each other from the past two SHINE shows, Nevaeh defeating Leva on her SHINE debut in September and again in six-woman tag team action at SHINE 14. This time, the score will be settled in a Friday 13th Massacre match, where anything goes.

In addition, Mia Yim and Ivelisse go head-to-head in a grudge match going back to SHINE 11 in July. Ivelisse is still smarting from their semi-final match in the inaugural SHINE Championship tournament, which ended in controversy as some inadvertent interference from Ivelisse’s friend Rain allowed Mia to pick up the win. However, she’ll have the chance to redeem herself on Friday in what should be one of the standout contests of the night.

Full card below:

* SHINE Championship Match: Rain (c) vs. Amazing Kong w/Daffney

* Jessicka Havok vs. Allysin Kay

* Losing Team Must Break Up: The S-N-S Express (Sassy Stephie & Jessie Belle) vs. The American Sweethearts (Santana Garrett and Amber O’Neal)

* Mia Yim vs Ivelisse

* Friday 13th Massacre Match: Leva Bates vs. Nevaeh

* Angelina Love vs. Taylor Made

* Mercedes Martinez vs. Heidi Lovelace

* Sojo Bolt vs. La Rosa Negra

* Su Yung vs. Solo Darling (w/ Daffney)

SHINE 15 takes place Friday, December 13th at the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida at 9pm Eastern (2am GMT). Click here to order the show.

Total Divas Redux: Episode 13, ‘Saying Goodbye’

60

Ohmygod. I knew tonight’s episode of Total Divas was going to be difficult for me, but even I underestimated just how much it would get to me. When I was seven, a stray cat gave birth to kittens in one of our flower pots. I loved all the kittens, but there was one in particular that became my cat. I named her Calico and she was in my live until I was 24 years old. I remember our last night very clearly. She would always sleep in my bed with me but couldn’t make it up there that last night. She curled up on my floor and slept there until I woke up. Later on that day, she passed away on our couch, with me beside her the entire time. I held her as she took her last breath and her death still hurts. Calico was more than just a pet, she was a best friend. I will always love that cat more than anything in this world and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her in some capacity. She was my family, and to watch what Natalya (Nattie) and Tyson Kidd (TJ) went through with Gismo broke my heart into a million pieces.

If you follow Nattie on Twitter, you know that Gismo was her baby. She was always posted photos of him. He was basically her son. Watching them dealing with Gismo’s declining health and doing their best to try and keep it together wasn’t easy. I cried my eyes out during the entire episode and thinking of my cat isn’t helping me calm down either. All I want to do is cuddle with my furbabies that I have now and make sure they know just how much I adore them. It’s never easy losing a pet, because that pet becomes someone you love. I give Nattie and Tyson all the love and respect in the world for dealing with this as stoically as they did. It wasn’t easy on either of them, or their other baby, Charlotte. Cats know when something is wrong and it affects them. Tyson brought home a kitten for them, an adorable little thing that looked it could have Gismo’s offspring. They named him King Louis, because Nattie always believed that Gismo was the Louis Vuitton of cats.

I cried. It’s still tugging at my heart as I write all of this. Pets are so, so special and mean so much to so many people. For some, their pet is all they have. That’s why they’re family. I can’t say it enough, but my heart goes out to Nattie and Tyson. They handled the situation as best they could and I’m so incredibly happy that they went through it together. They’re an amazing couple, and very nice people (I’ve met Nattie, she’s beautiful inside and out). Thank you two so much for sharing Gismo with the world. I know he brought you guys a lot of joy, and I wish you two and Charlotte many years of happiness with Louis.

The rest of the episode was kind of a blur to me to be honest. Nikki and Brie fought the majority of the time due to Brie’s singles push, and Naomi (Trinity) and Jimmy Uso (Jon) had their problems. Jimmy really struck a nerve with me. No one likes a jealous man and through my tears, I was able to be rendered pretty speechless when he decided to get involved in with her career. It’s one thing to show up at a photoshoot and get upset because your woman is showing off her body, I kind of get that and it’s kind of cute, but Jimmy just took it to another level. Naomi had every right to bring him outside and go off on him, because someone’s career is sacred. You can’t mess with that under any circumstances, and he knew after she stormed out that he had messed up big time.

As they were leaving the arena, Naomi rightfully refused to ride in the car with him, and then refused to tell him who she was riding with because he would probably just be jealous. I did crack a smile at that, because she was probably right, but the smiling stopped. It led to a pretty sweet heart to heart between them and a lot of things came to the surface. It takes a big man to admit that he’s insecure that’s exactly what Jimmy did. Naomi handled herself well and they made up, and it was sweet. Couples go through ups and downs and rough patches, and it was nice to see them able to work it out.

Brie and Nikki hit a wall as well, but that’s to be expected with sisters and honestly it was only a matter of time before Nikki’s injury became an issue. I thought it was real snotty of Brie to continuously refer to the injury as a vacation but at the same she was putting a lot of pressure and stress on herself to keep the Bella brand going in Nikki’s absence.

It’s well documented that the twins have always been a team together on television and on the road so Brie was kind of forced to branch out of her comfort zone and start performing on her own. All these elements as well as Nikki’s frustration and uncertainty with her injury combined for lots of delicious tension in this horribly sad episode.

As Brie’s star is rising, Nikki can’t help but wonder if hers is fading and during a brunch featuring the other cast members – Cameron (Ariane), JoJo, Nattie, and Eva Marie – all the drama finally boiled over. Too many petty remarks finally built up and Nikki went at Brie for everything that she’s been saying. Brie didn’t seem all that bothered and merely pointed out that someone was going to have too teach Nikki to wrestle again should she ever decide to get back in the ring. Ouch. Bella loyalty won out in the end with the twins coming together after Brie’s amazing performance at Night of Champions. She didn’t win the Divas Championship but Nikki was beaming with pride at how well her sister did. I love them.

This episode was so difficult for me and there’s just not a lot of hidden gems this week. I was to blinded with tears to properly watch but the moment that made me lulz was when Brie threw Mama Bella under the bus for having a boob job like Nikki. Brie! You can’t just put your mom on blast like that! She’s your mom! I hope these Mama Bella cameos during pay-per-views keep happening. She’s awesome.

Next week is the season one finale and it’s promising to leave us wanting more. Brie Mode rears it head once again the consequences could end up being pretty ugly for Nattie!

Slammy Awards Rewind: AJ Lee Wins ‘Diva of the Year’ and ‘Kiss of the Year’ (2012)

Leading up to tonight’s Slammy Awards, we’re looking back at memorable Diva moments from the recent history of the WWE’s annual award show.

Today, we’re looking to 2012, when AJ Lee dominated the two Diva-related categories, winning Diva of the Year and Kiss of the Year with John Cena. That last win was no surprise, as she was included in the category’s three other nominations.

The Diva of the Year announcement took place on the TLC pre-show the night before, while the Kiss of the Year reveal was live on Raw and featured yet another kiss – one that infuriated Vickie Guerrero.

Slammy Awards Rewind: Kelly Kelly Wins ‘Divalicious Moment of the Year’ (2011)

Leading up to tonight’s Slammy Awards, we’re looking back at memorable Diva moments from the recent history of the WWE’s annual award show.

Today, we’re looking to 2011, when there was no official Diva of the Year category. Instead, there was the Divalicious Moment of the Year. Kelly Kelly‘s Divas Title win would take the crown, beating out competition from Kharma‘s debut, Beth Phoenix‘s Super Glam Slam on Eve Torres and Natalya‘s double Sharpshooter on Eve and Layla.

Lita returned to present her with the award – a Divalicious moment in itself – and when Kelly thwarted Beth and Natalya’s attempt to steal the trophy, Lita raised her hand in victory.

OVW Saturday Night Special Results: Lei’D Tapa vs. The Bodyguy for the OVW Women’s Title

Last night, OVW held its December Saturday Night Special, which featured a match between OVW Women’s Champion Lei’D Tapa and The Bodyguy with the title on the line.

Results below, courtesy of OVW Mania:

OVW Women’s Title match: The Bodyguy vs. Lei’D Tapa.
Tapa dominates early over the Bodyguy who is wearing airbrushed tights with the Women’s Title on the front and Tapa’s face on the backside. She uses the Tongan Death Grip and hits a big boot. 4M gets in while the Bodyguy grabs at the ref’s leg to distract him. Tapa ducks a clothesline and PICKS UP 4M and hits her TKO finisher on him! As she gets up, the Bodyguy sneaks up behind her and rolls her up for the 3!
Winner and new OVW Women’s Champion: The Bodyguy by pinfall.

Yes, you read that correctly: The Bodyguy is now OVW Women’s Champion.

Do you think Lei’D Tapa is done with OVW?

FWE Results: Number One Contender to Women’s Championship Still Undecided & More

Last night saw Family Wrestling Entertainment return to internet Pay-Per-View for their Openweight Grand Prix Final.

Three women’s matches took place, with Angelina Love and Ivelisse Velez facing off for the number one contendership for Maria Kanellis‘s FWE Women’s Championship in the co-main event of the night.

However, after a solid performance from both women in the ring, the match found itself on the outside for the remaining moments, ending on a double count-out. Ivelisse then chased Love to the back, leaving us none the wiser about who Maria’s next opponent is.

Elsewhere on the card, Taeler Hendrix scored an impressive win against Christina Von Eerie in a short but calculated and aggressive match, Taeler hitting a vicious headbutt early on and eventually winning the match with a rolling neck snap.

Meanwhile, Candice LeRae shone as the only female participant in a Five-on-Five Elimination match where she teamed with Joey Ryan, Rhett Titus and FWE Tag Team Champions The Adrenaline Express in a losing effort against the Young Bucks, Jigsaw, Orange Cassidy and Wes Draven. LeRae burst into the match a few minutes in after a spell on the apron and showed off some breathtaking spots including a Suicide Dive Tornado DDT to Nick Jackson and a frenzied series of headscissors takedowns before being eliminated by the Young Bucks after her Adrenaline Express partners abandoned her in the ring.

WWE Superstars Redux (December 6th, 2013): Never Take Your Eyes Off the Prize

What’s up Diva fans and welcome to this week’s Superstars Redux! Trying to find a video for this week’s offering was like trying to find a needle in a haystack, yet I’ve finally managed to come across one! Keeping with the subject of needles in haystacks, Aksana‘s wins are like needles in haystacks as we’ve rarely even seen one. Reasonably fresh off pinning Brie Bella at Survivor Series, can Aksana use some of that rare luck to get a win here against Kaitlyn? Or will the Hybrid Diva beat Aksana clean for the 940639463633th time? There’s only one way to find out.

TO THE VIDEO!

Kicking off this week’s episode of Superstars are our WWE Divas, with Kaitlyn the first to make her way to the ring. She’s all jorted up and looks ready for a walk in the park match against Aksana. Speaking of the Lithuanian, she is out next. One thing I will say about Aksana, her entrance is very unique and I really like that. It definitely stands out more than the likes of Kaitlyn’s.

The match starts with a collar and elbow tie-up and the commentary team immediately discuss the recent events in Kaitlyn’s off-screen love life. Strange how much they are plugging Kaitlyn’s new man. With Kaitlyn not being a cast member of Total Divas, you’d think they would not mention it. Unless she’s set to join the cast? Speculation over, Aksana shoves Kaitlyn, the latter of which looks pretty darn p-o’d! Aksana cowers to the ropes screaming like the first victim in a horror movie (let’s be real, Aksana would be the first to go). Kaitlyn keeps the offense going with a scoop slam, which she follows up with a backbreaker and shoulder block. Aksana retreats to the outside, yet although she was knocked down, she’s far from out. Kaitlyn goes to follow her yet Aksana trips her up, sending Kaitlyn crashing spine first on the ring apron.

Back in the squared circle, Aksana pounds at Kaitlyn’s head before raking it with her forearm. She then poses in the comedic way that only she can and then kicks Kaitlyn in the chest. Following some more strikes with her legs, Aksana snapmares her opponent and utilises a keylock/half nelson variation. Unlike most of Aksana’s submissions against Kaitlyn, this one barely lasts five seconds as Kaitlyn quickly gets to her feet. As quick as she got up, Aksana sends her right back down. Aksana berates the crowd and this distraction allows Kaitlyn to nearly roll up Aksana for the win. Don’t do that again Aksana!

Aksana gets right back on the offensive, knocking Kaitlyn down with an elbow. Aksana knees Kaitlyn all over some more before using her shin to choke Kaitlyn out in the corner. The Lithuanian Lovely then hits a sideslam and… the sexy slug crawl and kick combo. I’m still having nightmares about her crawling towards me like that! After two unsuccessful pin attempts, Aksana goes back to her earlier submission. Although locked in for a little longer this time, it’s still not as prolific as her ‘HEADLOCK OF ALMIGHTY DOOM’ as knowing she will never top that, Aksana changes tactic and starts to deliver some elbow drops. She misses the second one and missed a charging move in the corner and this is where Kaitlyn gets back in the swing of things!

Following an elbow and a clothesline, kaitlyn gets kicked in the face, yet she shrugs that off pretty quickly and nails her patented gutbuster. She then looks to be eyeing up Aksana for the Spear yet the cowardly heel retreats into the corner. The crafty Aksana then kicks Kaitlyn in the leg and attempts to cheat to win by having her feet on the ropes, yet the referee spots her shenanigans. Aksana is furious with the ref and argues with him like crazy, yet she took her eyes off the prize for a little too long as she turns round into a Spear and it’s over. Aksana loses to Kaitlyn for the 167th time.

Thoughts: A respectable yet somewhat forgettable encounter between both girls. It was nice to see Kaitlyn get a win (even if only 24 people will have watched it) and I believe that with AJ vs Total Divas going on, it’s important for Kaitlyn not to be forgotten about, and appearances like this make sure she’s still in people’s minds.

I also liked Aksana’s interaction with the crowd. Although I’m not a fan of Aksana’s look or sexy crawl, I do like how she rubs the crowd up the wrong way and her silly, cocky antics. If only she turned face and got a more impressive moveset. Alas, it’s better to see some Divas than no Divas so I’m thankful for that. And with that, stay tuned, Jack will be back!

Picture of the Day: Kelly Kelly and Maryse Strike a (Hand) Pose

0

We’ve got to admit, we’re a sucker for seeing shots of former Divas reunited after their time in the WWE, and the recent photos surfacing of Kelly Kelly and Maryse are no exception.

The two took part in Pittsburgh’s Steel City Comic Con, giving fans a chance to meet and greet some of their favorite celebrities.

Kelly posted a slew of photos on her Twitter account, with the one above being captioned:

Maryse may have made that hand gesture her trademark, but if we’re being honest, Kelly – looking great as a brunette, by the way – has got it down pat. Battle of the hand poses, anyone?

SmackDown Redux (December 6th, 2013): Tamina Tries to Slow Natalya’s TLC Roll

0

Hello Diva fans and welcome to this week’s SmackDown Redux! As announced on Monday, next Sunday Natalya will get a shot at the Divas Championship at TLC, when she faces off against AJ Lee. However, Natalya has her hands full tonight, as she takes on Tamina Snuka with AJ on commentary. Can Natalya keep her momentum going strong, or will she fall to the Polynesian Princess? Check out the match below:

We kick off our festivities with Natalya already in the ring. Tamina and AJ are out next (accompanied by Leather Vest). Tamina climbs into the ring, AJ takes her place at the commentary booth and our Divas match is underway!

As soon as the bell rings, Natalya locks in a side headlock, but is tossed away by Tamina. Nattie switches to a different approach and goes for a O’Connor Roll. Tamina blocks the pin attempt, but gets blasted with a discus clothesline from Natalya for a one count.

Natalya rolls out of the ring to the apron and goes for a shoulderblock, but Tamina scouts it and sends her flying into the Turnbuckle. Before Natalya can gather herself, she’s attacked by Leather Vest (what a heel!), allowing Tamina to ram Nattie into the ringframe, before throwing her back into the ring for a near fall.

Frustrated, Tamina tries for a submission, but Natalya reverses the hold and lands two boots in her opponent’s face. Natalya tries to get back into the match, but gets steamrolled into the corner by Tamina. Tamina charges in for a huge splash and gets a face full of turnbuckle for her trouble, which allows Natalya to roll her up for another nearfall.

Natalya goes to finish Tamina off with the Sharpshooter and gets away and planted with a huge Samoan Drop. Tamina goes to the high rent district for the Superbly Splash, but Natalya rolls away and pins Tamina to pick up the win.

Thoughts: Decent, straightforward match between that served its purpose well: Putting Natalya over as a threat to AJ’s reign as champion.

Speaking of AJ’s reign, I really feel like it’s coming to an end sooner than later. WWE really seems to have lost direction when it comes to AJ’s character and it would be wise to step away from her and build someone else up. That said, I do think the better choice would have been Brie Bella, especially during the first half of Total Divas, but I think Natalya could make a good, if not better champion if used well.

That’s all for this week. Until next week, guys!

Impact Write-Up (December 5th, 2013): Someone’s Had Enough of Gail’s Open Challenge

64

Welcome Knockout followers! Last night saw the continuation of Gail Kim‘s open challenge. After a one week break, the Knockouts champ was back in force as she took on her latest opponent. We also got more #HeelDixie, who is amazing. On with the show…

Our first glimpse of the TNA president came when Dixie Carter was found by one of her assistants backstage. She was talking on the phone to someone called Jason when she was interrupted and informed her that she had a delivery. What could it be? Well, I’ll tell you. Flowers.

‘Flowers? I do not want flowers!’ And they’re from a fan. Dixie is not impressed. She instructs them not to bother her again unless the delivery looks and feels like her world heavyweight title. Good Lord! I am loving Dixie.

We see Dixie again not long later, and she’s gathered some of the boys in the back. In front of her are four briefcases, each with a number from 1-4 on them. It’s another one of Dixie’s great ideas. She knows they thought the #WheelofDixie was, like, the most innovative thing ever but this is better. Obviously. One of the briefcases has a world title match contract, the second has a tag team title match contract, the third an X division title contract and the fourth… well, has the end of your contract. Unlucky!

We got a little segment of Gail Kim and her husband, Robert Irvine, on the Impact365 thingy. Gail talked about how she’s been dominating in less than two minutes in all of the open challenge matches, and Robert agreed. He doesn’t want anyone wasting Gail’s time.

The video quickly cut to Velvet Sky backstage with her man, Chris Sabin. Basically they were just basking in their attractiveness. Fair enough.

Gail Kim makes her way out to the ring, accompanied by the ever-loyal (though I hope not for too long) Lei’D Tapa. The champ is totally cocky and ready to go.

And her opponent, from Toronto, Canada: Laura Dennis, otherwise known as Cherry Bomb!

Alrighty then, let’s see how this goes.

Gail gets right in her opponent’s face as soon as the bell rings. She runs her around the ring, then plants her face first into the turnbuckle. Gail doesn’t give Laura much time to breathe before she hits her with a mean uppercut. Gail with a nasty neckbreaker and a two count, which Laura doesn’t kick out of. No, no, Gail picks her up. She’s not finished that easily.

Gail hits a knee to the gut and a right hand, setting up Laura in the corner. A big clothesline and Laura with nowhere to go but down from it. Gail plays up the crowd, who boo her quite enthusiastically. She loves it. Gail calls Laura pathetic, and then kicks her across the spine to prove it. She pulls Laura up to her feet, then hits a big knee to the mid-section. Laura’s back down on the mat once again.

Gail’s taking her time and being quite meticulous to prove a point. That she’s in charge. She traps Laura in the corner again and starts to choke her out with her foot. Gail’s just punishing her right now. Gail then with the running elbow and the ‘aren’t I fabulous’ pose on the outside. Lovely.

Back in the ring, Gail is just taunting Laura now, and Laura looks like she’s just had enough. Gail knocks her back down with a boot to the face. Picking her opponent up off the mat, Gail demands, pointing to the crowd, that Laura tell them who the best is. She’s screaming at Laura, and now Laura really has had enough. Instead, she delivers a big slap to Gail’s face.

Laura on the offense now with two big right hands and a clothesline, knocking the champ clean off her feet. A big shoulder block off the ropes is next, followed by a pin attempt and a two count. Gail’s in the corner and Laura charges, but Gail gets her feet up in time to block her.

Gail with the Eat Defeat, and this one’s over.

Gracious as ever, Gail goes after Laura once again and this time with help from Lei’D Tapa. Another Eat Defeat to an already put of out Laura, some ‘loser’ taunts and an attempted TKO…

But here comes ODB to save the day!

ODB clears the ring and Tapa is seething on the outside. Gail Kim has to hold her back as ODB stands tall in the ring.

We spy Dixie once again backstage, and she’s finally received her package. She tells Spud that if something isn’t going your way, you just have to put your foot down hard enough to get exactly what you want. At that point the show cuts back to the ring, but Dixie reappears later on.

Dixie’s backstage with her package. She’s excited about the world heavyweight title picture, and to get the actual title back from AJ Styles. Spud opens the box up for her, only for it to reveal… a TNA Knockouts Championship belt. Well. Dixie is not happy. She starts to have a mild breakdown, her voice reaches some odd decibels and she walks out of shot, proclaiming this:

NXT Redux (December 4th, 2013): Paige and Natalya Put on a Clinic

natalya vs paige

What’s up Diva fans and welcome to this week’s NXT Redux! After a few weeks of backstage segments galore, we’re finally back in the ring on this edition of NXT… and the NXT Women’s Championship is on the line! The future Mrs. @Jack5326 defends the belt against Mrs. Wilson herself, Natalya. So weird referring to Natalya as that! Let’s just jump right into the action before I hyperventilate – you’re going to love this!

TO THE VIDEO!

Our first Diva sighting of the night is a debut! Ms. Veronica Lane makes her first NXT appearance, looking awesome in an orange dress. Her ring announcing however, needs a little work. Onwards and upwards though! Out first is Natalya, in what appears to be a new silver gown. Looking slick Tal! Paige is out next, not wearing anything new, yet if it’s not broke, don’t fix it! Paige comes out to an unusually frosty reception yet she let’s out her textbook roar and shrugs the crowd’s indifference off. You know you’ll always have me in your corner!

The match begins with an awkward display of sportsmanship before both girls exchange headlock takeovers and headscissors reversals, complete with kip ups. Renee Young makes a fantastic plea for Paige’s sake on why she behaved the way she did last week backstage, showing how Paige could still be a face but feel that way she felt. Awesome explanation. Following a few armlocks, Natalya flips her way out of danger, capitalizing with a waistlock throw.

Nattie continues her offense with an armlock/pin combination yet Paige jumps right back at Tal, knocking her for six with a headbutt. Paige rolls Nattie up from behind for two before trying to pin her foe again with a jackknife cover. Natalya rises up and utilizes a backslide. Paige’s shoulders aren’t quite down and once both girls get back to their feet, Paige grabs Nattie’s boot, forcing her into a tricky predicament. Undeterred, Natalya shows off some of her dungeon instincts, rolling out of the sticky situation before applying a tight leglock on Paige. The pair exchange hairgrabs and elbows before Paige drapes her arm over Nattie’s neck, pulling her into a headlock eventually. Natalya grounds Paige once again with a headlock takeover before Paige’s shifts her hips and gets back to a vertical base.

Paige shrugs Natalya off yet the latter shoulder blocks the former before staring at her; the intensity is definitely building! Natalya uses Paige’s back as a catapult for herself and then she grabs at Paige’s ankles – it could be Sharpshooter time! Paige has other ideas though, retreating to the ringside area as we go to a commercial break.

Back from the break and Paige has gone PSYCHO on Nattie in the corner, delivering blows to the body like a berserk banshee! My kind of woman! Well, maybe not that crazy! The Diva of Tomorrow then channels the legendary Stone Cold by stomping a mudhole into Natalya. Alex Riley explains why Paige has been really riled up during the break and his explanation really added even more intensity to the match. Paige then puts her foe in a sleeper hold whilst Alex and Renee exchange some banter. “Stay on the pulse, brother.” Who knew Hulk Hogan had joined the NXT commentary team? Still not as random as Tensai

Paige thrusts Natalya back down to the mat as Alex and Renee continue to put over how amazing Paige is. Impressive commentary here. Thank god we don’t have another Mike Adamle on our hands! Paige then locks in an abdominal stretch that she keeps winched in for a short while. She shakes her like a ragdoll in the process – steady on girl! Natalya fights out though, wrapping Paige in an abdominal stretch of her own, complete with her signature heel hook twist. Love it. Paige eventually fights out and hip tosses Nattie whilst the term ‘twerking’ raises it’s ugly head.

GO AWWWWWAAAAYYYYY!

Ahem. Moving on, Paige goes ballistic with Natalya in the corner again, whacking her head and kicking her chest in. Paige then uses her sick thrust kick whilst Natalya is on the apron before hitting a few of her “I’M EUROPEAN AND CAN IGNORE THE ROPE BREAK LIKE SHEAMUS” knees to the head. Natalya becomes the first person to reverse this onslaught though, grabbing Paige’s leg and hitting a nasty looking dragon screw leg whip. After laying a beating on Paige, Tal whips the champion opponent and the two clash in the middle of the ring with a double crossbody.

Paige gets back up first yet she misses a leg drop, allowing Natalya to regain control. Nattie hits a clothesline before slapping Paige’s nose off and hitting a snap suplex. The Dungeon Diva then hits an awesome powerslam driver for a two count and frustration begins to sneak in. Paige then tries to mount a comeback with a kick to the shoulder yet Natalya isn’t going down without a fight as she nails Paige with her Nat by Nature clothesline. After a two count, Nattie knows it’s lethal weapon time. Here comes the Sharpshooter! Paige writhes in pain as she crawls closer to the ropes yet Nattie pulls her back into the middle of the ring. It’s a sick fight as Paige refuses to tap. Eventually, Paige rolls Natalya head first into the turnbuckle, leaving the challenger dazed. After a moment to catch their breaths, Paige hits the Paige Turner out of nowhere and pins Natalya clean. The two embrace after the match, having earned each other’s respect.

Thoughts: This could be a match of the year candidate, I loved it! It was intense, passionate, back and forth, unpredictable, physical, rough, brutal and told an amazing story. Paige was desperate to keep the gold and impress the veteran and the veteran didn’t want to be outshone by the ‘rookie’. The match was not traditionally booked and I loved how back and forth it was. It was refreshing and so unpredictable. Paige’s Paige Turner was a definite highspot, due to the fact it came out of nowhere and it because it has never looked better. Natalya sold it superbly and for once, the move looked genuinely dangerous. Oh, and I loved that Nattie brought back the “YEAHH BABY!”

Also, Renee Young, I can’t sing your praises anymore than I already have. She is witty, knowledgeable and a breath of fresh air. Her performance was nearly as good as the match!

And with that, stay tuned, Jack will be back!

Your Two Cents: Will AJ Lee Break Maryse’s Record?

Your Two Cents is our interactive feature where we ask for the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers.

This week, we’re asking this: AJ Lee is 45 days away from breaking Maryse‘s record for longest reigning Divas Champion. Should she? Will she? We’ve read your responses on our social media pages and picked some of the best submissions to highlight here on the website. As always, you can join the debate by leaving your comments!

* Armando Munguia: No AJ should not beat Maryse’s record. Maryse’s defended her title way more than AJ has and Maryse’s fought like a champion, she faced champions ultimately losing to the 5-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James.

* Ashley Matthew: I think some fans are hoping for a title change, feeling that it is long overdue but I can understand why WWE wants AJ to be the Divas Champion this long. As of right now, I think making her the longest reigning Divas Champion is a good idea since it would give them more time to build up a decent feud between her and another Diva, who will eventually take the title away from her.

* @AWESOMENICK7: I think AJ’s time as a champion is coming to a close at TLC and that Maryse will reign supreme! :)

* Das Cool Santos: I’m ok with her breaking it as long as WWE builds her up. She’s been loosing way too many matches, She can’t survive on mic work alone.

* @FanOfLifeAndYou: YES YES YES Daniel Bryan style! AJ is the face of the WWE right now.

* @JosephAMT: I think she will, I don’t really want her to as I have a sentimental attachment to Maryse & hope 1 day she still might return.

* Joshua Mcdonald: I think she should simply because Maryse while being a great character was a horrible wrestler. I simply don’t think she deserves to hold any record.

* Megan Travis: Honestly I would be perfectly okay with AJ beating the record. Maryse’s big reign tends to be overrated anyway since she was not only hurt for a month of it but never had any sort of good matches while she had it. Her one big feud with Mickie had a crap culmination match. AJ’s booking has suffered post HIAC but she’s had good title defenses, has a crowd connection, cut the most talked about diva promo in recent memory, was part of the first ever divas contract signing segment and has two long running feuds (Kaitlyn and the Total Divas cast). WWE just needs to fix up her booking for non-title situations and have her feud with Natalya continue and reach deep meaning and continuing on with the reign would be good.

* @MelaniePrice01: I adore Maryse but if someone is going to take that record, AJ should be the 1 to do it, time to elevate some new stars.

* Randi Parker: If WWE doesn’t take the title off of her at TLC, which I don’t see happening, I see her holding the title till Mania, and breaking Maryse’s record. As a huge fan of hers, I would love if she did, no matter what happens in the future, she’ll always have her name in WWE history!

* Raphael Lamounier: She deserves to be the longest reigning Divas Champion. In a roster where the Divas are so underestimated she’s the only one who really stands for herself! I like Nattie, but honestly I don’t think that AJ should lose her title to a “Total Diva”.

* Samuel C. Garner: I believe she most definitely should and will break the record. The way she’s been losing lately, I highly doubt she’ll lose at TLC. That would practically bury her, and I don’t see WWE doing that to their top diva, especially when she’s this close to breaking the record.

* @WWEJosePerez: No, I have faith that Natalya would take the title from A.J before she over passes Maryse’s Reign.

And now we turn it over to you…

What are your two cents on the debate? Will AJ break Maryse’s record?
