Raw Redux (November 25th, 2013): The Night the Internet Wrote the Redux

0

“Tonight we’re going to have a Survivor Series rematch!”

Why, God? Why?

Honestly, what can I say about the debacle on Raw that I didn’t already say on Sunday about Survivor Series? The match was virtually the same, except longer, and in a lot of ways, that was so much worse. Sometimes you just have to sit back, relax, and watch the wreck unfold before your beautiful hazel eyes, and that’s exactly what I did last night. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled, the internet wrote this Redux for me.

I was on my Twitter account (@allhailKHALEESI) during the match and have compiled a list of tweets that popped up on my timeline during the contest.

@QueenAmiee: Jesus Christ…. you know it’s bad when even the Diva fans are complaining the Divas are coming.. #RAW

@PocketVolcano: Universal “NOOOOOOOOOOs” and “You gotta be kidding me”s on my TL about the Divas rematch.

@knownaserin: The Divas match so underwhelming they had to do it twice! #Raw

@KeepItFiveStar: Alicia Fox pined JoJo, earning her place on Total Divas Season 02.

@tylerrcrush: Summer’s submissions SLAY, and she has such a great, unique move set, and she can’t even use ONE move?!

@ShayLMitchell: Why couldn’t Summer actually wrestle them? Why can’t Eva be better? Why couldn’t we start a Divas title feud? Why were we being punished?

@ShayLMitchell: It seems like every time WWE hears that we like the Divas division, they go out of their way to destroy it.

@gocalldapolice: I’m going to start drinking before RAW. Maybe it’ll make it less painful to watch.

@Theregoeskitty: I feel like we’re all in an abusive relationship with RAW, we forgive it, everything is good for a while and then it lets us down again

Nothing I can write will so accurately describe my feelings on last night better than what see above. JoJo has been written out of Total Divas for the most part, and Alicia Fox does keep popping up on the show. It wouldn’t shock me at all to see Alicia become a cast member for season two. The E! PR Twitter confirmed the announcement and tweeted the entire cast but JoJo. I’m bothered by that at all because I’m not a fan of the Total Divas version of JoJo anyway. I will say that once again, I liked her during the match. I think she has a lot of potential if she stays with the company and I’m curious to see how well she does on her own.

Summer was completely wasted Sunday and Monday. She is so much more than a comedy act. I’m so disappointed that nothing really materialized for her on either night, but I do think it was kind of cool to see her end up being the sole survivor last night. There were some other positives as well. Natalya and AJ Lee happened just the way it needed too. AJ got a measure of revenge and we have a door left open for another match between the two. Eva Marie embraced the absolutely hell the Long Island crowd gave her and blew them a kiss as their reigned their jeers down on her. I loved the way she toyed with them. Nikki Bella got kind of wasted during the comedy bits with Summer as well, BUT it could very well lead us to a fresh new match of Summer Rae vs. Nikki Bella.

Summer had amazing chemistry with Natalya, and I can’t wait to see what she does with someone else. I would love to see her step inside the ring with Nikki and I think they would work each other really well. I wouldn’t mind seeing Summer put with AJ and Tamina to take on the Bellas and Natalya, either. There’s a lot they could do. They could even do AJ and Summer versus the Bellas with Tamina and Eva Marie at ringside. There’s a lot the WWE could do and that’s why seeing them waste those fourteen women not once but twice hurts so bad.

The Diva fan community is a fiercely loyal group of people who have passion for their favorite girl. They won’t hesitate to go into battle for their favorite and that’s why Diva fans are the best type of fans. I work for the best women’s wrestling website on the Internet and I’m so proud to be a part of this community. We fight so hard for these women to be treated as equal in their company and that’s one fight I won’t ever give up. I’m so sick of everyone living in the past and turning their noses up at the Divas just because they’re not Trish Stratus or Lita or Jazz or Molly Holly or who the hell ever. I don’t want to go back to that time anyway. We have Nattie, Nikki, Brie, AJ, Summer, and so many other girls who can shine when given the chance. Slowly but surely the Divas are gaining more and more respect and it pisses me off when the WWE decides to cut the legs off at the knees. Musical chairs and two crappy marquee, cluster fuck tag team matches are ridiculous when you have that many girls who can work.

Diva Dirt isn’t the only site that supports these women. There are others out there that are just as passionate. All the men and women who put their time and effort into websites devoted to women’s wrestling, Divas, and Knockouts are proof that people do care. It’s proof we believe in the girls who go out there every night and bust their butts for all of us. I realize that the WWE might think they are doing what’s best for business by overlooking the Divas and giving them not a lot to work with, but this is the same company that thinks the majority of the free world give a shit about Randy Orton versus John Cena for the 23934508934059340589345th time. I’m just so annoyed with what we’ve been given after having one hell of a summer, that I can’t help but be annoyed.

Those girls deserve better and I hope and I pray that these past couple of weeks are just some weird transition period and they’ve got many juicy, exciting storylines lined up. If nothing else, the relationship between Diva fans and the WWE is abusive. As irritated as we are now, we will watch next week. We will believe that our favorite is going to get a huge spotlight and we will keep our fingers crossed until we hear that theme music hit. We will always go back and it’s not fair. It’s not fair to us and it’s not fair to the girls who have done everything they can to build the division up and get people excited about it again.

I turned Raw off last night after the Diva debacle, I truly did. It killed any desire I had to watch the rest of the program and that wasn’t much anyway. The best time of the year for WWE fans is right around the corner and unfortunately it’s usually not a kind time for the Divas. I hope this year they build something special for WrestleMania but thus far, they’re not off to a good start.

Until next time… and until that time, never forget!

Cryssi… out! ;-)

‘Total Divas’ Ratings Down Against Heavy Competition

0

Total Divas couldn’t fight off competition from Survivor Series, the American Music Awards and the NFL, dropping to a series low on Sunday night.

Sunday’s episode, titled Seeing Red, drew only 920,00 viewers according to TV by the Numbers, down significantly from last week’s 1.4 million.

It also dropped in the 18-49 year old demo, earning a 0.5 rating that matches a series low.

This news is surely disappointing for those involved with the show, but it couldn’t have been unexpected. Survivor Series is arguably the third biggest Pay-Per-View of the year for the WWE, and competition from a major awards show and a packed NFL schedule was bound to negatively affect the ratings.

On the bright side, Total Divas has already been renewed for a second season, so this news shouldn’t affect its future in any meaningful way.

Video: Velvet Sky Gives Advice to Women Starting Out in Wrestling

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky recently discussed breaking into the wrestling business with fellow wrestler Justin Credible on his Pro Wrestling 101 show

Recalling her initial training with mentor Jason Knight, the two-time Knockouts Champion said: “One of the first things I learned [from Jason Knight] is always in this business, is keep your ears open and your mouth shut. So that is the rule of thumb, probably the number one rule.”

Velvet also explained the type of person you need to be to make it in the wrestling business. She said, “I suggest if you don’t have a thick skin, you don’t even bother getting in this business because it’s really not just glitz and glamour. It takes a lot of heart, soul, blood, sweat, tears, dedication.”

Velvet also stated the importance of staying humble. She stated, “A lot of people, I’ve seen it happen, they start out in this business so sweet and so humble and then they get a deal and and it gets to their head and they change and they think they’re better than everybody. Don’t ever ever forget where you came from. No matter what level I get to in this business, or in life, you can just never forget where you came from.”

Velvet also discusses locker room etiquette, how much you have to sacrifice to make it and respect within modern day wrestling. You can view the interview below:

Picture of the Day: Leva Bates Channels Her Inner Pokemon Trainer

8

Leva Bates is quite highly regarded for many things.

You’ve got great wrestling and ridiculously fun promos… but through it all, what really helps her to stand out among a crowd is that of the fact she has taken cosplay to a whole new level, adopting many a costume for her ring gear.

This time around, Leva has taken on the look of Ash Ketchum. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, he’s widely known from the Pokémon series.

She posted the above photo on her Instagram account, captioning it, “A pic from @pwxperience this past Saturday! Thanks to Adrian Rohr for taking it. If you have pics from this weekend, send em my way!”

We’ve got to admit, while the gear earns an A+ as always, the Poké Ball in her hand is the perfect icing on the cake. And when it comes to obtaining victories, Leva’s certainly gotta catch ’em all when dressed like this.

…Hey, I tried.

Video: Natalya, Brie and Nikki Bella Talk About Their Survivor Series Win

WWE.com caught up with Natalya, Brie and Nikki Bella after their big win at last night’s Survivor Series, getting their reaction to the victory.

All three said the win was redemption, Natalya adding that the match was about sticking up for yourself and fighting for what you believe in.

Nikki – who was a survivor alongside Natalya – then tells her to remember that she couldn’t have won without her. The remark seems to throw Natalya off a bit, but Brie assures Natalya that Nikki was just kidding.

Total Divas Redux: Episode 11, ‘Seeing Red’

27

Dude…

I’ve literally sat here for hours trying to think of how to kick this thing off but I am literally drawing a total blank. Also, when typing “total” I capitalized it almost like I was about write Total Divas. But seriously, I’m blank. I don’t know if it was from the epicness of the episode and knowing I can’t truly put into words about how I felt when I learned that Vinnie‘s penis was too big for Cameron‘s (Ariane) vagina, or what. But seriously, wowowowowow is all I can say about what we saw last night.

I was shaking with anticipation when watching, wondering whether or not Nikki was going to sign John Cena‘s BS co-habitation agreement and I reckon she finally did. I mean, we never really saw her sign the papers on camera, but we got to listen to her gather advice from Brie and Mama Bella on the situation, and ignore John for awhile while she checked into a hotel and contemplated her future. To be honest, I don’t know if I would have signed it or not. I mean if I took the time to organize my Loubies and other designer shoes in a nice little shoe closet, and was then presented with some crap ROOMMATE agreement, I would be pressed. I would be hurt. I would probably be a total drama queen and tell the most perfect man who has ever walked into my life to just piss off.

Okay, I’m full of crap. My butt would have probably signed it after hearing him leave me voicemails all week and grovel, because that’s the type of person I am. I love those men that are so emotionally damaged and broken in some way because I have the overwhelming urge to save them from their past and from their future. I want to be their future. I want to be the one that makes them enjoy life again. I want to be the one they put all their stock into when they thought they could never ever ever love another woman again ever. I would have definitely strung John along for awhile before cracking and signing, but I’m also not a very good person. A savior I am, but purely for selfish reasons and thankfully Nikki Bella isn’t like that. And watching her crumble when John FINALLY explained his reasons for wanting this agreement in the first place was pure poetry. What an amazing man he is. Last week, I couldn’t stand him. This week, totally in love again. You got to love a man who supports his family. And yes, I have to respect the fact that he wants to protect that.

Alright Nikki, time to “accidentally” throw those birth control pills in the trash when “cleaning” the bathroom. I’m totally kidding.

Alright, not really.

I’m twirling my hair and trying to appear innocent having just written all of that. Don’t judge me. For the most part I TRY to not judge other people. That’s why I’m doing my best not to hate Cameron (Ariane) and Vincent for stealing Daniel Bryan‘s (Bryan) virtue. I don’t think I can ever look at the poor man the same after watching Cameron beat Vincent with a riding crop and both of them start chanting “yes… yes… yes” a la our precious angel, Daniel. There is absolutely nothing wrong with engaging in BDSM, despite the fact that 50 Shades of Gray have managed to take away some of the mystique and excitement of it, but I just know that the next time my man handcuffs me to the bed and starts spanking me for being a naughty little girl, he damn sure better not start chanting “yes… yes… yes!” If he is doing that, then how in the world is going to hear me say “thank you, sir, may I have another?”

Not everyone is a sexual being and there’s nothing wrong with that. My heart just broke for Cameron this week. She clearly has some type of hang up about sex and I give her so much credit for trying to tackle the problem and figure out what’s going so she can maintain a healthy relationship with Vincent. Whereas I don’t believe sex needs to be the most important thing in a relationship, it is at the top of the list. Both partners need that connection and that physicality and I respect Cameron for wanting to figure out what’s going on with her mind and her body to keep Vincent from being completely frustrated. This girl continues to surprise me week after week with all the different sides we see of her.

An ugly side of Natalya (Nattie) reared its head this week but all is fair in love and war. Her relationship with Tyson Kidd (TJ) has been well documented on Total Divas and we know how much Nattie loves her man. Her pretty eyes turned bright jealous green when she witnessed Tyson working out with Eva Marie in the ring. That’s how the relationship between Nattie and Tyson started, afterall. I love the fact that Natalya felt that Eva Marie and her flashy red hair and no bra could undo like a 13-year relationship and marriage with one innocent lock up. Talk about giving Eva Marie a lot of credit and having absolutely no faith in the man you married, Nat.

So what does Nattie do to attempt to fix the situation? Oh you know, she goes to the Performance Center and finds the hottest person there at the moment, which just happened to be a very shirtless Fandango, and gets him to work out with her. That didn’t go over well with Tyson, who just got jealous and angry.

Do unto others…

Our marrieds ended up working it out and like a classy lady, Nattie admitted she handled the situation completely wrong. Eva Marie, for once, really didn’t do anything wrong, and everyone lived happily ever after.

Except for Braniel.

Apparently success is a terrible thing in Brie Bella‘s book, unless of course, she’s the one who is being successful. Daniel, having had his innocence stolen mind you, being the top draw in the entire WWE Universe was nothing more than an annoyance for Queen Brie and she didn’t hesitate to use Princess Josie to remind her King that his absence in their life wasn’t going unnoticed. Queen Brie felt like she was getting the shaft (and not in the sexually gratifying way, mind you) and was well down on the list of Daniel’s priorities. Paychecks, performing, and fulfilling work obligations be damned!!!

Luckily, Nikki reminded her sister that being needy wasn’t always a good thing and Brie came to the realization that Daniel working his ass off at the moment was going to buy that dream house (likely eco-friendly with appliances that run off sunlight) for their future family. And honestly to be fair to Brie, when you are able to spend so much time with someone that you love, and never have to compete for their attention, it is kind of like a shock when things like that change without warning.

Brie womaned up and did the right thing, apologizing to Daniel for the way she acted. Daniel, being perfect, promised he would do a better job of trying to balance all his new responsibilities while still making time for Brie, and I am swooning because the perfect type of man is one who apologizes even when he’s done nothing wrong. They are so damn cute, I can’t stand it, and I know with the proposal looming on the horizon, I’ll prob cry like a baby when he pops that question.

So Braniel did end up with a happily ever after when the episode was said and done, and I, for one, am a sucker for a happy ending more than I am for a 40 percent off sale at my favorite shopping sites.

Such a good episode and talk about dozens of hidden gems this week. Of course, we can only pick so lets start with good ole number five! Naomi (Trinity) and Cameron were backstage at Raw talking while waiting for their match. Their talk was about sex and Naomi mentioned that Jimmy Uso (Jon), her man, turns into a Grinch when she decides not to give him any. So now, not only am I going to think of his funky feet whenever I watch him wrestle, I’m also going to wonder if he has so much aggression because he isn’t getting laid. Wonderful.

Hidden gem number four for this week involves Nikki and John, and their dinner. We all know John has issues with women thanks to his past and we now know why he is thirsty to protect his fortune. So when the word ‘marriage’ slipped out of his mouth, Nikki was quick to bring up the fact that she’s basically already come up with a prenup of her own. It basically involves a lot of sex and a lot of kissing, and John being John, definitely wasn’t about to argue with that. Just for good measure, they even got started on the kissing part right there at the dinner table. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what came next after John, no doubt, picked up the check.

Our third precious jewel is Daniel Bryan and his salad. You know what? It takes a real man to sit down at the table and order a salad for lunch. Yes, he is a vegan. Yes, he lives a healthy lifestyle. But dammit, this man ordered a salad. Did Daniel get to eat said salad during his working lunch with his hot girlfriend? Not really, and by the time the rest of their food came, Brie was done with the situation anyway, but nonetheless, Daniel Bryan remains perfect. Orders salad at lunch. It’s the little things.

This week’s runner-up for hidden gem of the week is none other than Norman Smiley. In case you aren’t really a wrestling fan, he is a former wrestler turned trainer, who works with the talent down in NXT at the Performance Center. I was a huge fan of WCW when I was little and I loved this guy! So for me, this is kind of a selfish hidden gem. It was just nice to see him still doing what he loves and those trainers do such a good job down in NXT. Loved this so, so, so much.

And last, but certainly not least, this week’s hidden gem involves Cameron. Never in my life did I ever expect to see someone I admire and respect carry about their own pee sample on cable television. And never in a million years did I ever expect that the first thing I would think of when this was happening on television is that said urine sample looked like the apple juice I drank for breakfast.

Think about that one. Until next week!

Survivor Series in Review: A Hot Mess

0

Okay, so I know I’ve said this before but it has never been more fitting as a life motto than it is tonight. If you don’t have anything nice to say, THEN DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. Sadly, it isn’t always easy to abide by that especially when my job is that of a Redux writer. Survivor Series was a hot mess, to say the least, and trust me, that’s me being super duper kind. I don’t like to litter the world with negativity and hate because there’s so much of that anyway, so to get us started tonight I’m going to focus on the positive things.

Tonight on Survivor Series we were treated to a seven-on-seven Diva Tag Team match with traditional Survivor Series rules. As I said back on Monday, this match could go one of two ways. Team ‘True’ Divas (which is the dumbest name in the history of names seeing as how most of those women have similar backgrounds), AJ Lee, Tamina Snuka, Kaitlyn, Summer Slae, Alicia Fox, Aksana and Rosa Mendes, took on Team Total Divas, which was a team basically comprised of the seven cast members. For Redux purposes and my word count, Team TD is comprised of Natalya, Brie and Nikki Bella, Cameron and Naomi, Eva Marie, and the other one that’s never on television. Just kidding, of course! By the time the show was all said and done, it was the one who is never on television, Miss JoJo, that ended up with the fans chanting her name. But I’m totes getting ahead of myself.

Anyway!

The match could end up being the greatest thing this world has ever seen or, on the flip side, it could be the worst thing ever. I know what my opinion of it is but here’s a chance for you guys to be the judge.

I’ll be brutally honest when I say that I thought the promo was going to be the worst thing I saw all night. I wasn’t really impressed with AJ at the beginning because I thought she was talking to herself, but when it was revealed that the rest of her team happened to be standing there, I started to get it. In her backwards way of motivating them, AJ managed to turn their animosity towards her around on the Total Divas girls and that was basically the lead in to the match.

I could have gone my entire life without ever having lived in a world were Aksana pins Brie and Rosa pins Cameron, but unfortunately that didn’t work out for me. That happened, along with Nikki and Summer having a dance off which ended when Nikki busted out the worm. I really have no words. What I will say is that the most compelling part of the match ended up being JoJo. We have yet to see her step inside the ring on Raw, and for most of the match she just stood there on the outside of the ring. Nikki was the one who tagged her in towards the end and it was only fitting that she went against the powerhouse Tamina. JoJo bumped extremely well in her main roster debut and for a moment, I thought she would end up getting a shock elimination on Tamina. It didn’t work out and Tamina tagged in AJ to make the pin.

Part of me feels like I’m going to end up liking JoJo away from Total Divas. She is super young and that’s an automatic strike against her. She can’t help her age and she can’t help the way she has been protrayed on the show (spoiled little brat), but she can let her work ethic and in-ring performances speak for her, and she has time on her side. JoJo has many, many years ahead of her should she choose to stay in this business and I’m curious to see how far she can go. The great Kelly Kelly, the best Diva of all time, made her debut at the tender age of 19 and went on to become the first female to ever defend the World Heavyweight Championship. Now she’s living the good life as a hockey WAG, slaying the world with her hot brunette hair. Sounds like an amazing life to me and JoJo already has a very good pedigree!

The match itself ended as most of us thought it would. Team Total Divas ended up getting the win when Natalya got the submission on AJ. Natalya and Nikki were the sole survivors for their team, and shame on me for picking the wrong Bella. I can only assume that Natalya will get another title shot, and I can only pray that we never see a hot mess like this again. Overall, I definitely give the match a 2 out of 5… and the two is because I loved the Funkadactyls ring gear and Nikki getting a chance to have a little bit of the spotlight Brie has embraced the past few months.

It wasn’t a total bust and I don’t want to be a complete Debbie Downer. Some positives can be taken away such as another potential AJ/Natalya match, perhaps the insertion of Nikki into the title picture, and JoJo having a positive debut. It just sucks because after seeing the opening match featuring the guys and Roman Reigns being the sole survivor, the Divas never really got a chance. Such is life.

Thankfully Total Divas was on tonight and saved the day. Check back for that Redux soon! =)

Picture of the Day: Team Total Divas Strike a Victory Pose

It was a big night for Natalya, Nikki, Brie, Cameron, Naomi, Eva Marie and JoJo, as the seven stars of E!’s Total Divas picked up a victory at Survivor Series.

The match, of course, ended with Natalya and Nikki Bella being the sole survivors, but that didn’t mean the rest of the team didn’t step up and impress as well. After things were all said and done, the batch posed for a group shot to celebrate their sweet revenge over Team “True Divas”.

Cameron posted the picture on her Twitter account, tweeting:

Survivor Series Predictions: Team ‘Total Divas’ vs. Team True Divas

169

Tonight at Survivor Series, Team Total Divas (Brie Bella, Cameron, Eva Marie, JoJo, Naomi, Natalya and Nikki Bella) takes on Team “True Divas” (AJ Lee, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Kaitlyn, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae and Tamina Snuka) in a seven-on-seven Elimination Tag Team match. Which team will claim bragging rights? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:

Adrian: After this week’s shambles I can’t say I’m too optimistic about tonight’s match. Although at least if it’s an elimination match there’s guaranteed to be more than eight seconds of ring time per contestant…right? Anyways, prodigal daughter Kaitlyn’s inclusion on Team True Divas is interesting, and the theorist in me can totally see her turning on AJ here and costing her team the match. However, I really don’t think creative have thought about it that deeply. I do think Team Total Divas will win, but something ridiculous’ll happen like Eva Marie being the sole survivor or something. At this point, is that even a particularly outlandish prediction to make?

Bobby: As much as I want to think WWE knows we all pretty much believe Team Total Divas is winning this and they’re deciding to do the unexpected swerve by having them lose, I just can’t see it happening. I don’t really have much to go into detail about with this match since it was built up extremely quickly, but I will say I’m beyond excited and so thankful it’s an actual elimination bout instead of just one fall. I really hope for some good stuff from Eva Marie, Summer Rae and JoJo in particular, and I’m also hoping for AJ/Kaitlyn tension. As far as who survives, I’m going to say Team Total Divas wins with Natalya and the Bella Twins remaining the sole survivors after Nattie makes AJ tap to the Sharpshooter.

Chris: Honestly, It’s really hard for me to get into this match. It just seems kind of thrown together at the last minute to get the girls on the PPV. I mean AJ has said herself that she needs no one besides Tamina, so why is she leading a bunch of girls that she doesn’t even get along with? What so happen is it comes down to the Bellas, Naomi & Cameron, and Natalya vs AJ, Tamina, and Kaitlyn. Tamina and Nattie brawl on the outside and get both get counted out. AJ tries to get Kaitlyn to double team one of the girls when the referee is distracted by the brawl outside, but instead of helping AJ, Kaitlyn spears her. Kaitlyn then walks out of the arena, getting counted out and allowing Brie Bella to pin AJ and getting the win for her team. This way you can refresh the AJ vs Kaitlyn feud, hell add Naomi in and have a triple threat at TLC. Just save us from this crap! Team Total Divas wins. Survivors: the Bella Twins, Cameron and Naomi.

Cryssi: I definitely have to go with Team Total Divas for this one. They’re on a tear at the moment, living the life, and I think it would be a shame if the WWE didn’t capitalize on everything they’ve done for the division. I think winning this match would be a nice touch since they won’t pull the trigger with the championship and it wouldn’t shock me to see it coming down to AJ and Natalya. I’ll go out on a limb and say they’ll be the sole survivors for their team along with Brie Bella, on Team Total Divas.

Eleri: I love each of the Divas (well, some less than others) but I wish, wish, wish we had more to go on with this one. Given the time and proper build up, this would be a serious feud because it sums up the divide in women’s wrestling fans right now. I’m going with Team Total Divas to pick up the win, and I expect Brie and Natalya to be the last women standing. If not, I do think one of the Bellas will inadvertently get the other eliminated, but I don’t know which way to go. I’m just glad Kaitlyn is back. Now if only they’d give her an actual character. But that’s a whole other issue. So yeah, Team Total Divas for me!

Erin: The momentum is clearly with Team Total Divas, and I don’t see them messing with the aura of success that show’s been generating. The team behind AJ and Tamina have gotten no real exposure out of this, so I don’t see them giving the win to a bunch of lumped together Divas. The real question is who will be the survivor(s). Natalya looks to have the best odds for getting the next title shot from AJ, so she definitely has to survive. She won’t be alone, though, so I’ll say it will be her and Naomi left at the end, with Natalya getting the last opponent to tap out to the Sharpshooter.

Jack: I’m Team Total Divas all the way! With a second series of the reality show confirmed, I definitely see the Total Divas winning to use as a storyline on the show. As there’s bonus points up for grabs if I can correctly predict the sole survivor(s), I’m going to say that Brie Bella and Natalya will be sole survivors. Both of them have been major competitors for AJ Lee’s Divas Championship over the last few months, and as both feuds sort of just ended before they properly even began (not a lot of storyline), I can see WWE picking up where they left off as opposed to creating a new challenger for AJ’s belt. That and I don’t think Eva Marie is anywhere near ready to be #1 Contender. Team Total Divas will win – you can’t stop them now!

Katelyn: Team Total Divas to take the win here… with AJ Lee to be the last one eliminated, probably by Natalya. I’m thinking that there will be more than one competitor left on the Total Divas team too and that AJ will realize that she has nowhere to run or hide once her bodyguard Tamina and her teammates have gone. I also expect Eva and JoJo to do very little, Kaitlyn to show disdain towards AJ and Tamina to be shockingly eliminated.

Steven: With Total Divas back from hiatus and doing fantastic in terms of ratings, I think the outcome of this match is obvious. My money is on Team Total Divas picking up the win, and Natalya and/or Brie Bella being the survivors for their team, earning a title shot in the process.

BREAKDOWN: 9 for Team Total Divas, 0 for Team True Divas.

Who do you agree with? Who is just dead wrong?

SmackDown Redux (November 22nd, 2013): AJ Can’t Escape From This One

51

Hello everyone, and welcome this week’s (slightly late) edition of the SmackDown Redux!

This week on the blue brand, Vickie Guerrero gets a measure of revenge on the Divas Champion AJ Lee after their singles match on Monday, as she puts her in a handicap match against  Total Divas Naomi and Cameron. This, of course, follows AJ’s weaseling out of facing Naomi on Wednesday’s Main Event.

Can AJ beat the odds and give her Survivor Series team some momentum going into Sunday or will she be another victim of the numbers game? Check out the match below:

The Funkadactyls are out first, sans pompoms. AJ comes out next with Tamina Snuka in tow, and she does not look happy with the situation she’s been put in. The official signals for the bell and our Divas match is underway!

The Funkadactyls immediately go on offense, taking AJ down with double team maneuvers, sending AJ scrambling out of the ring. Tamina tries to insert herself into the match, but gets knocked on her ass by Cameron and Naomi for her trouble.

The Funkadactyls try to keep up their team assault on the champ, but Tamina gets a hold of Cameron and takes her out, leaving Naomi to deal with AJ.

With Naomi distracted, AJ gets the jump on her, taking her down with a neckbreaker for a near fall abnd follows up with a stalemate into a chokehold. Naomi fights out of the submission and levels AJ with a enziguri for a near fall of her own, prompting Tamina to get involved once again. Unfortunately for Tamina, Cameron has gotten her second wind and takes her out. AJ sees Cameron trying to make her way back into the match and nails her with a knee lift, but turns around into a Rear View from Naomi, which nets a win for The Funkadactyls.

Thoughts: A nice filler match going into Survivor Series. Nothing too spectacular, but it beats the hell out of Diva musical chairs.

That’s all for this week’s redux, boys and girls! Until next time!

Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan to Get Married in April

14

Since they got engaged earlier this year, Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan have let a few details slip about their wedding plans.

Brie has discussed Austin, Texas as a possible wedding site, as she says they’re looking to have a “rustic, country wedding”.

More recently, Daniel revealed when they plan on tying the knot, telling the Boston Herald that they’ll be getting married this April.

While discussing their first date in Boston, he said, “We went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and that was when we realized we really, really liked each other. That was in January of 2011, and now we’re getting married next April.”

It looks like they might use the downtime after WrestleMania 30 – which takes place April 6th – to have their wedding. Smart choice!
