Total Divas Redux: Episode 10, ‘Nurse Nikki’

0

Okay, so like I love Total Divas. I literally live for this show every Sunday night. It’s the only thing that consoles me after watching DA BEARS have a bad game. Luckily, my team won today because there wouldn’t have been any consolation tonight. This was the most disgusting, gross, annoying episode of Total Divas… ever. I HATE feet. I HATE those creepy weirdos with foot fetishes (no offense if you have one… >.<). I don't even enjoy pedicures like a normal woman should. And my extreme dislike for all things feet completely manifested into a full-blown hurricane of pure, unadulterated HATRED thanks to the grotesque toe of one Jimmy (Jon) Uso. It was bloody. It was ROTTING. HIS TOE HAD A CONTAGIOUS FUNGUS ON IT. Like ohmygod, I can not even right now. I usually like to throw back a nice Carlsberg or Stella while watching TD, but oh no, not this week. I wouldn’t have been able to hold that beer down.

The fact he wouldn’t even go to the doctor to get it checked out just blows my mind. If I’m gushing from some part of my body that doesn’t normally bleed, I go to the doctor. Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’m a borderline hypochondriac (which is a real problem in our society today people… A REAL PROBLEM! Hypochondriasis should NOT be taken lightly, okay?). Regardless of whatever, and whatever it is that I’m trying to put into words…. screw it. Jimmy Uso just needed to go to the damn doctor. Naomi (Trinity) finally made her man go, and thank God. I say thank God because not only did Jimmy have to have his toenail removed, but come to find out, HE GAVE NAOMI THE FUNGUS. I don’t know what’s worse; getting a weird, creepy, disgusting foot fungus from your man or getting some type of STD from your man?

Okay… the STD is totally worse, but seriously… that foot fungus. Ohmygod… GROSS!

What’s sad is the nauseating and vomitous goodness didn’t just stop with Jimmy Uso’s toe. Oh no! We got to see John Cena‘s elbow surgery and you better believe it was gruesome. Now, y’all know I’m not right, so this isn’t the first time I’ve sat glued to the edge of my seat watching someone get sliced open. The twisted little part of me totes enjoys a good ole surgery. What I could have lived without was seeing Cena’s blood shoot up out of his elbow like someone had just turned on a water hose. Like, did that happen to me when I was getting my gallbladder removed back in 2006? Hey, at least John didn’t wake up during his surgery like I did. I remember violently throwing up because I had a tube shoved down my throat, a gaping hole in my stomach (or so it felt like but they used a laser, mind you), bright white lights… I felt like I had died and went to Heaven. I remember asking if I was dead and some nurse screaming “PUT HER BACK UNDER!” And then, I woke up in a bed, hours later, because I was violently throwing up the chlortab they had given me for the pain. I was put to sleep again only to be woken up again thanks to vomiting. Vicodin was to strong for me as well. I was never meant to be a drug addict, I reckon, and thus it was Advil for this girl.

This write-up is not about me. Oops…!

Cena’s surgery was a success, obviously, and he had naughty nurse Nikki Bella to help him heal anyway. They are a pretty sexually charged couple, are they not? John wasn’t too impressed when Nikki’s 26 boxes of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and purses arrived but really, 26 isn’t that bad. I would be lucky to cram all my crap into a modest 32 boxes, but I have a slight hording problem. I will say, that my collection of toys wouldn’t need much room. My one friend pales in comparison to Nikki’s chaingang of battery operated boyfriends.

Sadly for Nikki, her happiness at John’s was short-lived when he did the most horrible thing a man could ever do to a woman besides slap her with a prenup the day of their wedding. It gave her a roommate’s agreement. Oh, excuse me, a CO-HABITATION agreement that more or less said she had 48 hours to get all 26 boxes of her shit out of his home should he ever ask her.

Really?

I just want to slap him in that surgery repaired elbow and then scream in his face. Nikki Bella is a treasure. She is a goddess. She has a body to die for. I want to shake him and remind him that he is the one who asked her to move in. Nikki didn’t exactly beg him to have a place to live. I am so outraged on her behalf and on the behalf of trophy wives everywhere, myself include. I can’t say I blame Nikki for grabbing her stuff and getting out of there. In all seriousness, if John was going to spring something like that on her, he definitely should have put it out there before she got all of her stuff in his home. That just really irritates me. From what we’ve seen on the show, she’s not given him any reason to ever doubt her.

So, so annoying.

That just kind of sums up the whole episode. The backstage reaction to Eva Marie‘s busted ring announcing really worked my nerves. At least she’s getting opportunities, taking them, and trying. I know it’s just a show and all that blah, blah, blahhhhhhhhhhhness but she’s earning a living just like the rest of us. She just happens to be in a different of business with a different type of atmosphere. No offense to GINGER but maybe she doesn’t know his name because he’s never on television? Shady, I know, but whatevs. Regular wrestling viewers don’t know who Jinder Mahal is, and people who watch E! definitely don’t know who he is. Hell, the only reason I know who he is… well. There goes my entire theory about regular wrestling fans not knowing who Jinder Mahal is when I blantantly do.

Sorry, Eva Marie. I tried to help you out. You really did that a man an injustice, you know. But look on the bright side, at least you didn’t cheat.

I hope and pray that next week’s episode isn’t so glorified ewwwwww as this week’s was. The only thing missing was a recurrence of Cameron‘s (Ariane) yeast infection and Natalya‘s (Nattie) pissy tights. Yeah, I went there. How about some hidden gems?

Coming in at number five this week was Jimmy, Naomi, and Cameron riding around in a car together. The girls were singing and Jimmy was dropping f-bombs. And not rose smelling f-bombs if you know what I mean. He locked those windows and made those girls scream due to his stank. Beautiful.

This week’s number four gem is none other than the Lochness monster. Seeing Nessie show up completely out of the blue, even for one amazing split second, was everything to me. When I was a child, I would live for Unsolved Mysteries and all the stories they did about Lochness monster and where it could live, and just show rare it was. I never ever ever ever believed that it was a myth. In my heart of hearts I knew that such a magnificent creature was real. And it is. It’s on Total Divas. Hang on… what?! Are you saying… oh dear. Everyone who reads this is about to get horribly offended. So let me just say that this column reflects my opinion and my observations alone and does not necessarily reflect those of the Diva Dirt staff and website… yada, yada, yada. Hai there, JoJo! You’re about as rare as a Lochness monster sighing these days.

Moving on before people boycott this all together, at number three, is…. SANDRA! Our beloved Queen of Sass made her triumphant return to Total Divas this week as the girls sat backstage watching Eva Marie completely bombed. Sandra, never ever stop being so darn fabulous. You are the greatest thing on television, period. Even more so that my future ex-junkie/con turned yoga instructor husband, Vytas Baskauskas, and that is a whole lot of great! Also, his online yoga classes are no joke. The 20-minute core workout made me cry a little and that was just from watching it. True story.

The second best hidden gem of the week happened in the first forty-five seconds of the show. Nikki and Brie were hanging out, giving their measurements to a costume maker for their appearance on Psych, and poking fun at one another. These two are so cute together. They also decided to discuss Brie’s orgasm face. I was rolling to be honest.

And last, but certainly not least, the number one hidden gem of the week involves all things Braniel. Daniel (Bryan) and Brie have got to be the cutest couple in the entire world. I love that they consider their dog, Josie, their child and the face time segment between the two was sooooo adorable! The prospect of trouble in paradise next week has me cringing, but at least we know at some point this season we’re gettin’ a proposal! Happy, happy, happy days! I love them as this new power couple.

Tonight was not the best episode by any means and it left a lot of things to be desired. That being said, we know we are in for a lot more delicious drama and I, for one, CAN NOT WAIT! Six more sleeps until the next episode airs but like really, who’s counting… =)!

Photos and Video: JoJo Makes In-Ring Debut at NXT Live Event

Total Divas stars Eva Marie and JoJo made their NXT in-ring debuts tonight at a live event in Sebring, Florida.

The bout, which was JoJo’s first official match, saw her and Eva team up to take on Emma and Paige. The longtime NXT Divas picked up the win over the rookies, according to Diva Dirt contributor Jordan.

Twitter response to JoJo’s performance indicates that she definitely impressed.

Also making a debut was Becky Lynch‘s new gimmick, which appears to be based on reciting limericks. Leah Van Damme and Veronica Lane served as ring announcers.

Check out exclusive photos below and see the rest on our Instagram:

Video has surfaced online of Eva and JoJo’s pre-match promo as well as a snippet of the match itself:

OVW Watch (November 13th, 2013): Taeler Hendrix vs. Lei’D Tapa for the Women’s Title & More

10

Hi there, OVW fans. It’s been a while since we’ve put out an OVW Write-Up, mostly because of TNA dropping the company as its developmental territory. With that in mind, going forward, we’ll highlight OVW in a slimmer and trimmer fashion.

Publishing OVW Write-Ups was an effort to give TNA equal treatment alongside WWE’s NXT’s Reduxes. Now that the company is independent once again, we’ll forgo full reviews and just feature the matches themselves so fans can still follow the action.

This week’s episode featured two matches, the first being Taeler Hendrix vs. OVW Women’s Champion Lei’D Tapa with the title on the line:

Next, we’ve got Lovely Lylah and Jessie Belle challenging The Bodyguy to a match to answer for his various crimes of douchebaggery:

That match will go down next week. Tune in this time next Saturday to see it go down!

SmackDown Redux (November 15th, 2013): Natalya and the Funkadactyls Score Big

0

Welcome to the SmackDown Redux, boys and girls! This week the Divas
are doing double duty, as Natalya takes on Tamina (with AJ Lee), after their run-in on Main Event. Also, The Funkadactyls clash with the Bella Twins in a Total Divas tag match. Check out the matches below:

I won’t even bother giving Natalya vs. Tamina a full recap, as it was a total squash match. With Natalya losing her title match by DQ and winning so convincingly over Tamina, I’m going to say she’s going to be the Diva that’s next in line to feud with AJ Lee for the title.

Next up, Cameron and Naomi take on Nikki and Brie Bella in tag action:

The Funkadactyls make their way to the ring first and their entrance seems a bit… um… different. Yeah… different. The Bella come out next and our match is underway with Nikki and Cameron starting for their teams.

Nikki starts off with a waistlock, but Cameron reverse with a impressive arm drag. Cameron hits the ropes and attempts a sunset flip, but Nikki catches her and hits an Alabama Slam for a near fall. Staying on top of her opponent,  Nikki plants Cameron with a modified bodyslam for another near fall, before whipping her across the ring.

Nikki comes charging in the corner, but runs into two boots from Cameron and a flying crossbody for a near fall. Cameron immediately rolls to her corner and tags Naomi. After a few tag team maneuvers, The Funkadactyls land yet another near fall.

Naomi goes for a suplex, but Nikki evades, locks in a front chancery, drags Naomi to the Bella camp and tags in Brie.

Brie comes in with a flurry of offense and manages to get a two count, but Naomi brings her to a screeching halt with a beautiful wheelbarrow stunner. Naomi goes for the pin, but Nikki breaks it up and takes Cameron out as well. With Naomi distracted, Brie Bella goes for the Bella Buster for the win, but Naomi has her scouted. Naomi escapes and hits The Rear View to pick up the win for her team.

Thoughts: Excellent tag match for the Divas this week. I feel like Nikki Bella was especially impressive this week. Not only has she shaken off most of the ring rust that comes with such a serious injury, but she is adding new moves into her repertoire that set her apart from Brie as a wrestler, which is a refreshing change of pace.

I was also impressed with The Funkadactyls. They’re really starting to form a solid team, as opposed to it being “The Naomi Show” every time they wrestle. With all these teams popping up (Bella Twins, Funkadactyls, AJ/Tamina and Foxsana… Eva Marie and JoJo?), I would love to see WWE give the Women’s Tag Team Championships another shot, especially with all the attention the Divas are getting now. Not to mention all the ring ready Divas in NXT. Just sayin’, WWE…

Well, that’s all for this week guys! Until next time!

Update on AJ Lee’s Condition: Doing “Ok” After Fainting During Match

54

Following yesterday’s scary collapse during her match in London, Divas Champion AJ Lee appears to be doing fine.

PWInsider is reporting that AJ is telling “everyone that has asked” that she is okay.

As mentioned yesterday, the WWE has issued an official statement on the incident, telling news outlets that AJ had fainted due to dehydration. TMZ even picked up the story, echoing the WWE’s statement.

Needless to say, we’re glad to hear that the cause wasn’t anything more serious and that AJ’s doing well.

Stacy Keibler Returning to ‘How I Met Your Mother’

12

stacy HIMYM

Stacy Keibler is returning to TV… but not WWE TV.

The former WWE Diva took to Twitter to confirm that she was filming a new appearance for CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

She first tweeted a cryptic message with an image of her in make-up behind the scenes of the show:

Afterwards, she went on to clarify which show she was returning to before posting an image on her Instagram account with one of the show’s stars, Jason Segel.

Stacy’s newest appearance will be featured in the show’s ninth and final season. Her original appearance was in season five, when she appeared as a barmaid that caught character Barney Stinson‘s eye.

Will you be watching Stacy’s How I Met Your Mother return?

WWE Superstars Redux (November 15th, 2013): Girl, Bye!

What’s up Diva fans and welcome to this week’s Superstars Redux! We got a double dose of Funkadactyl fierceness on Friday as not only did the girls compete on SmackDown, but they also kicked some arse on Superstars! This week’s Superstars showing, the third in as many weeks, sees Naomi make her third straight appearance on the show. She’s teaming with Cameron to face my favorite tag team ever *sarcasm* Aksana and Alicia Fox, although one good thing about them is together, they can make up some cracking portmanteaus. AKLICIA and FOXANA sound pretty epic. Shame one of them has no character whatsoever and the other crawls around the ring like a toddler who has filled it’s nappy. Anyway, we need to get that image out of our minds, so let’s get right into it! TO THE VIDEO!

Out first are Planet Funk’s finest exports, Cameron and Naomi! The two of them looking stunning in satsuma (that is the name I’ve giving to their orangeness) – really liking the new attires ladies! Out next are Foxana and Alex Riley compliments how well they’ve been working as a team. If you’ve teamed together about 56 times and won 0 of the matches, that doesn’t constitute to working well, but whatever! Alex has been really impressing me on commentary as of late, so he better not start talking rubbish! We get enough of that on Raw.

The match begins with both girls trying to pump up the crowd before Alicia grinds at Naomi’s neck with a headlock takeover. Back to her feet, Naomi forearms her way out of Alicia’s grasp before traversing over the top rope and walloping Naomi in the head with a sweet kick. Naomi then flips over Alicia and bounces off the ropes before hitting a flip clothesline on Foxy. A flustered Alicia tags out to Aksana, who doesn’t do much better in handling Naomi! After a hurricanrana, Naomi tags in Cameron, who hits a wheelbarrow armdrag on Aksana before tagging Naomi back in. The Total Divas cast members hit a double suplex on Aksana before Alicia runs in to interrupt their celebratory dance. Sadly, she doesn’t interrupt it very well, as she ends up on the arena floor! As Naomi’s back was turned, Aksana has made it back to her feet and she drops Naomi with a gutwrench suplex.

Aksana then delivers some stomps before leveling Naomi with a sideslam. The crowd sarcastically chant “THIS IS AWESOME” yet I don’t blame them as Aksana then starts to perform the bane of my life, the sexy slug crawl! I laugh as Aksana could only muster a 1 count following a kick to the face and she then tags in Alicia to see if she can do any better.

Alicia hits a snapmare and… can only get a one count. Alicia’s next move is a new move in her arsenal that I really like. She hooks her leg around Naomi’s head and then sandwiches it between her leg and the mat. Although not enough to put Naomi away, Alicia did manage to get a two count – hooray! Next, ‘Lic lynches in a chinlock to see if a submission will fare better for her. Apparently not, as although she knocks Naomi back down when she first attempts to break out, Naomi hits a massive monkey flip and tags in Cameron!

Cameron blitzes the ring and delivers a series of clotheslines to Alicia before pulling off a very sloppy headscissor takeover. Well done Alicia and the camera work for sort of covering that up! Cameron then shakes what god gave her before hitting a split leg drop on Alicia. Aksana breaks the pin attempt up but then gets clobbered by Naomi. Cameron kicks Alicia in the stomach, lets out an almighty “GIRL BYE” and then hits a devastating Mickie James-style DDT. 1-2-3 – Cameron just GOT her first pinfall win on the internet WWE TV!

Thoughts: Another competent performance from the Divas, and it’s memorable because it’s the first time Cameron has hit the GIRL BYE DDT on TV. The move relies a lot on the strength of the seller too yet I thought it looked epic, as you can expect from someone like Alicia. Other than that dodgy headscissor takeover, Cameron is continuing to impress me with every showing. She has the looks, the charisma, the catchphrases and she’s getting it together in the ring. Although this show didn’t really mean anything, I’d rather see some Divas action rather than none, so I’m glad the girls got the chance to work again and hone their chemistry with each other. And with that, stay tuned, Jack will be back!

Picture of the Day: Mickie James is Easily Emmatained

19

Talk about headlines you never thought you’d hear before this week…

Yes, as previously reported, former TNA Knockout Mickie James has made her way down to the WWE Performance Center to help train NXT’s female prospects alongside Sara Del Rey this week. Not only did that involve ring training, but also a Picture of the Day that we personally find quite Emma-zing.

The above photo featuring both Mickie and NXT standout Emma was posted on the dancing Queen’s Twitter account. She tweeted:

We’re not going to lie. After that, we pretty much want to see a photo of every past Diva doing the Emmalution with our resident Aussie dancer. Tara, Nidia, Chyna…your move!

Mickie James Talks Training NXT Divas and the Possibility of a WWE Return

Capping off a week spent training NXT Divas at the WWE Performance Center, former Diva Mickie James sat down for an interview with WWE.com, discussing her experience with the up-and-coming Divas and rumors of a WWE return.

How did the training gig come about?: “I got a call from Talent Relations, and they asked if I would be interested in coming down, checking it out and working with some of the girls here. Of course, I jumped all over it; I was happy to do it. The place is amazing, it really is mind-blowing. We had all prayed for something like this [when we were] breaking in.”

Which NXT Divas have stood out to her?: “Obviously, I see so much with Paige; she’s awesome, I think she’s really great. And there are a few of the younger girls. Lexi (Alexa Bliss) has tons of personality and tons of potential. Mercedes (Sasha Banks) and Emma are really good. Shaul Guerrero, too; I don’t know if it’s just because it’s in her blood, but she’s a natural. Her footwork, her movements, and her personality are through the roof. Each of them has their strengths and you can see their personalities coming out more and more. That’s what I’ve really been trying to focus on with them too.”

What has she been teaching them?: “Mostly being vocal in the ring and being vocal while they’re working instead of just thinking about what their moves are and what they need to do in there. Actually being who they are.”

Are there current Divas she’d like to work with?: “Oh, gosh, yes. I would love to work with Natalya; we only had a couple matches when I was there. I would love to work with AJ Lee, and I think Brie Bella has really come a long way since I was in WWE, so I’d love to do some stuff with her.”

On rumors of a WWE return: “Of course, I would absolutely love that, but you never know. I’m just trying to take advantage of this opportunity. If I can pass a little knowledge of what I know, then hopefully that will do something, if not for me, then for the future of WWE and women’s wrestling itself.”

Check out the full interview on WWE.com.

Do you think Mickie will return to the WWE?

Impact Write-Up (November 14th, 2013): The Open Challenge Blossoms

49

Hey Knockout fans! So, it’s the first week following Knockout champ Gail Kim‘s open challenge on the last edition of Impact. I, for one, am excited at the prospect of a shake up in the Knockouts division, but whether or not this will come sooner rather than later remains to be seen. Gail might just plough her way through her challengers and that will be that. Let’s find out how things went down, shall we?

Brooke graced our screens in the open segment, as she accompanied her beau Bully Ray to the ring for a confrontation with Ken Anderson. She did a little dance on the ramp for her man and the world to see, before Bully took over and took it to Anderson.

Dixie Carter is backstage, going bananas over a vignette that just aired about the TNA Heavyweight Champion, brought to us by the friends of the man himself, Mr. AJ Styles. Dixie is preeeetty stressed out, or so it seems, and she says she has to head out there now. Damn it, production, you had one job!

Dixie is heading out to the ring. Clearly the crowd loves her, and she’s lapping it up. She says it’s hard to be perfect allllll the tiiiiime. I feel you, Dixie. It’s difficult. I kid, I kid. Anywho, she never has to go around proving her perfection, which is nice for her I’m sure, but every once in a while it just feels so good to say… Wait for it…

“Lord, have mercy! How right I am!”

When she kicked AJ off her roster, the class level of Impact went up tenfold. It proved her right. No one, but Dixie herself, obviously, is irreplaceable. The people don’t understand that TNA is a business. It’s about what has AJ Styles done for her lately? Other than irritate her, he’s taken her property – the Heavyweight title belt – and taken it t Mexico, along with the car he stole from her too!

He is not her World Champion. Period. Her lawyers will handle him.

But she wants to talk about the eight man challenge to crown the new champion. My one and only Jeff Hardy was successful last week, and moves up in the tournament. Now I could talk about Jeff all night (seriously, what is even happening here?) but I won’t, because I’m excited to get on to the Knockouts match. There’s still some Dixie goodness to come, though. She calls out Bobby Roode and James Storm, who are set to go one on one in the world title tournament. Next out is Samoa Joe, the Magnus.

Dixie turned the wheel of Dixie to determine their matches. She informs them of their matches. Bobby and James, who were formerly partners, will compete in a bull rope match. (I’m not sure where the coverage of Dixie ends and the coverage of the men begins here.) Storm informs her that he has nothing to prove to her, and then goes off into a monologue about what he’s got, including having the audience behind him. (Does Storm remind anyone else of a male ODB?)

(I’ll stop with the parenthesis soon, I promise.)

Samoe Joe repackages himself as Captain Obvious, and informs Dixie that the only reason she’s put together the tournament is to cover for the fact that she couldn’t cut a deal with AJ Styles.

“You better watch yourself Joe.” Is what Dixie actually said.

“You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.” Is what I heard.

Samoa tells her to realize who needs who. He says they’re all together right there to cover HER bad business. He says that after he becomes the world champion, the first man he defends against will be AJ Styles. Dixie is thrilled. NOT.

“No, no, no!”

An emphatic “no” from Dixie Carter there, folks. She will replace Samoa Joe ‘that fast’ if he tries anything like that. Snap. Magnus interrupts with his confused British accent. He talks about the spirit of competition. Captain America, everybody. Except it’s more like Captain English, with an enhanced sense of righteousness. I love him either way.

Dixie wishes them all the best of luck, before heading on back up the ramp with her dignity and her sass in tact.

Alright ladies and gents, it’s time for the Open Challenge match. Lei’D Tapa‘s music hits, and she’s led out to the ring by Knockouts champion Gail Kim, who looks beautiful in blue. The stipulation is as follows: if the challenger can beat Gail, they will earn a shot at the Knockouts Championship. Simples. Gail grabs a mic and recaps what she said last week. The offer was extended to any female outside of TNA who thinks she’s good enough to step in the ring with Gail. A lot of names were mentioned, with Gail responding to some, but she reminds us that someone actually has to show up.

And tonight, someone actually did.

Christy Hemme introduces her opponent. From Manchester, England… Hannah Blossom!

Awesome! As far as I’m aware, these two have never squared off before. Correct me if I’m wrong! Hannah’s not too unfamiliar with TNA, having been apart of the British Bootcamp a while back. The commentators certainly remember her.

Gail kicks things off – literally and no pun intended – with a big boot to the head of Hannah, who goes down hard. She throws Hannah into the corner, then nails an uppercut, which takes Hannah back to the mat. Gail with a right hand, and Irish whip and a running elbow to the gut. She grabs Hannah by the hair and sends her to the mat once again. Our Knockouts champ is mighty pleased with herself. Her hair looks fabulous tonight, by the way.

Gail’s heads back into the ring and doesn’t waste another moment before going after Hannah. But Hannah fights back with some big right hands, and just when it seems she may get the upper hand, Gail clocks her right on the hamstring and sends her back down again. Some trash talk ensues, followed by a heavy shot to the chest. Hannah is not faring all that well here. Gail lands two kicks to the mid section, then drives Hannah head first into the turnbuckle. Hannah falls to the mat once again, and this time she’s in prime position for a little figure four around the ring post. Gail locks it in.

After doing away with her opponent for the moment, Gail takes a second out and offers Hannah an open shot at her. Trash talk at its best. Great show of ring psychology here from Gail. She goes for her first pin attempt but Hannah kicks out at a count of one. A high five from Lei’D Tapa later, and Gail looks to be lining up Hannah for the Eat Defeat. But Hannah fights back! She lands some shots to the head, then a clothesline and a back elbow! She mounts a defense and unloads on Gail, then hits a great looking suplex. The crowd is starting to get behind her. She lands an elbow for a two count.

Hannah sends Gail to the corner, but Gail comes out of it focused and hits a big clothesline. She catches Hannah and nails the Eat Defeat for the three count.

“Nice try, Hannah Blossom. Not really.”

Gail promises to prove, week after week, that she is the most dominate TNA Knockouts champion of all time. So modest.

Thoughts: I enjoyed that match. It did exactly what was needed, and it was great to have Hannah Blossom on TNA this week. She looked good in the what little offense she managed, but let’s be honest here. There is a big difference in their levels of experience. Hannah put up a good fight, but Gail is champion for a reason. Personally, I see her dominating everyone that comes her way until, surprise surprise, Lei’D Tapa steps up to the plate and completely decimates her, earning herself a title shot. I do think this is culminating to Tapa/Gail, but what direction they decide to go creatively remains to be seen.

Hopefully we’ll get to see more Knockouts next week, though I’m not sure where they’ll fit into the open challenge storyline. Their absence from the ring this week makes sense after Gail and Tapa bulldozed them last week, but I hope to see them back next week and working in their own storylines.

Until then, see ya!

* Erin A Porter: What about MsChif? Even though she’s said several times that she has no interest in going to TNA or WWE, I think she would be great and challenging for Gail.

* @xFoxylicious: I think Madison Rayne would be a great choice. Gail thinks Madison came back for her but instead Rayne pins Gail and betrays her.

* Harry Saludares: Alissa Flash because she is #1 in PWI 2013

* @Jaffney_Quinn: I think it’s long overdue that Amber O’Neal makes her presence known in TNA.

* Josue Guzman: Any new name would be great for Gail and TNA together. However, if I had to pick a favorite name it would be Kana! She’s amazing and can bring an international flavor to the Knockouts Division

* Luc Tempest: Jessicka Havok. So Gail can see what a talented dominating female looks like

* Matthew Brown: I would love it if Lei’D Tapa accepted the challenge. Now that would be a shock & surprising twist. Plus I would love to see Gail kicked off that pedestal of hers!

* Mickey Micklon: Either a new person in TNA, but not new to Gail Kim (somebody she knows from past battles in the ring) or Lei’D Tapa (would be a surprise face turn).

* @Paul_Locky: Taeler Hendrix should challenge Gail. Love to see what Gail would do against someone’s she’s never faced before.

* @pikatrick: Gail vs. Mia Yim – technical, fast paced, high flying action. Yim can definitely bring it to Kim. What more can you ask for

* @RavenTNT: I think Ivelisse should challenge Gail Kim, she has the talent to pull it off

* Victor Montijo: I would love to see Melina answer the challenge! The series of matches Melina & Gail had on superstars were really good. I think WWE missed a great opportunity there! But hey WWE loss could be TNA’s gain…

And now we turn it over to you…

What are your two cents on the debate? Who should answer Gail’s challenge?

Picture of the Day: Stacy Keibler Celebrates Movember

11

Stacy Keibler‘s got the Movember spirit!

The leggy ex-WWE Diva is taking on her own form of facial hair growth this November. Instead of actually growing a mustache, she has opted for a fake, but we think it’s passable by all means.

Is there an official Movember rule book stating what is and is not acceptable? Yeah, that’s what we thought.

The picture was posted on Stacy’s Instagram account, with the added caption, “Combine @Movember + @CP3 @StateFarm night @LAClippers game and you get … #MoSistas”.

What do you all think – is Stacy’s new look TV ready?

NXT Redux (November 13th, 2013): Charlotte Shows Off Her Beautiful, Fierce Side

0

SURPRISE!!!!

In this game of Survivor, sometimes you have to vote people you like off the island. That’s what I’ve done with Jack this week. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t cover Raw this week, that I decided to throw about the power that comes with being the Khaleesi of the Diva Dirt Island, and made sure Jack’s torch was nice and snuffed. He’s currently on Redemption Island right now, plotting a way to get his NXT Redux back I’m sure, but it will be to little and much to late. Boy, bye!

I may or may not have watched an entire episode of NXT in a long, long, long, long time, but this week I was reminded why I had such an issue with Summer Rae being a ballroom dancer in the first place. Our favorite sequined salsa dancer teamed up with the fiercest of the fierce, Miss Sasha Banks to take on the team of Charlotte and Bayley (who was giving me nail polish envy, FYI).

Please excuse the Hulu embed. I can’t find anything better! Skip to 1:20 in the video below:

Now keeping in mind that I am a most casual viewer, take my opinions with that of a grain of salt. I’ll start with Charlotte. I’ll be honest, watching her wrestle didn’t impress me. I think she has a lot of basic skills that are masked very cleverly with gymnastics and athleticism. That being said, when one lacks with something, one must find a way to compensate. Her ring entrance is pretty incredible, and so is her physique. Girlfriend is FIT and TRIM, and once she figures out what she wants to do with her hair, she should be much more complete in terms of her look. I might not have enjoyed watching her wrestle, but I enjoyed her character and the twist at the end suited her rather well, I think.

Bayley’s gimmick is something I don’t get, and I don’t personally like it, but I can see why other people do. Comedy has never really done it for me when it comes to wrestling but she has come so far since SHIMMER it’s insane. As Davina Rose, she was kind of boring and kind of bland, but the WWE has done wonders for her. Other than Emma, I think Bayley is definitely the best facey-type of person NXT has, and I can’t wait to see even more progression from her. Her ring-work was solid. She made Charlotte look like a million dollars at the end, selling that attack like nobody’s business.

And as far as people looking like a million dollars, Sasha Banks might be my new favorite. This was the best thing to ever happen to her, and she WERKS. I love this girl almost as much as I love my precious Bella twins, and you guys who read the Raw Redux know that is a whole lot of love. Summer and Sasha exuded charisma, personality, and just sheer heel bitchyness. I’m not to fond of them throwing perfectly good headbands down to the ground, but I suppose it’s what a bad girl would do. They’ll probably just go buy the Chanel version later.

As far as the match goes, I really did love it. Bayley was the MVP and Summer continued to do what she does best and that is steal the show every time she steps in the ring. Her skills are soooo good and it’s going to be a sad day to see her leave NXT for good. It’s inevitable because in my opinion, she needs to be challenging for the Diva’s Championship ASAP. The turn at the end with Charlotte walking off with Sasha and Summer kind of makes me think that Charlotte may end up being Sasha’s go to person in place of Summer? I think Charlotte has the look and feel of a powerhouse heel and we all know that’s what her famous dad did best. I do believe she has a lot of potential, and I think she will get better. You really don’t need to have 2349720349823 moves to be someone whom a person like me might find entertaining, and being a super heel might just give Charlotte that boost she’s lacking as of right. It was a pretty great match and I’m very, very happy with it.

We also got a backstage segment featuring one of the one million and one new Divas, Lana, and a big bear of a man called Alexander Rusev. I see that he is Bulgarian. I wonder if he knows Katherine from The Vampire Diaries?

Anyways, skip to 18:00 in the video below:

Welp. I reckon digging my earplugs out of my gym bag was pretty pointless because I didn’t get any of that. Then again, I’m American and I guess I’m not supposed too. If that was the point of the segment, then well done. In other news, Lana is really pretty.

The last bit of Divaness from this episode of NXT comes in the form of a very interesting video package centered around Emma. I hated it. Emma is MUCH BETTER than that thirty seconds of my afternoon I’ll never get back.

Well, if that doesn’t give you guys sunshine, roses, and rainbow feelings then I don’t know what will. NXT, back when I watched it religiously, was always better than Raw and SmackDown, and it seems like it still is. No offense to Raw, obviously, but the talent down in Florida is just more interesting to me. They’re fresh and hungry, and the main roster is full of talent that just seems stale and burnt out a lot of the time. At this point, the only thing I watch WWE for are the Divas, and thank God for them. It seems like after this particular episode, if I need a wrestling fix for whatever reason, I’ll start turning into a regular viewer then.

My only concern is with so much female talent on NXT and on the main roster, what are they going to do?

Chances are, I won’t be around to recap it. Jack does an amazing job with this and with Main Event, so if I break down and decide to invite him back to the island, he will be right here next week. I’ll see you guys on the flip side! ;-)

WWE Main Event Redux (November 13th, 2013): Nattie Has AJ’s Number, but Tamina Has AJ’s Back

What’s up Diva fans and welcome to the Main Event Redux. We’re in for a treat this week as you’ve got an English fellow recapping the action from within Manchester, England and the action is certainly history making! For the first time ever of WWE Main Event, the Divas Championship will be defended as AJ Lee, with her leather lady Tamina Snuka will put the strap up against Natalya. With a concerned husband in Tyson Kidd watching backstage, can Nattie get the job done tonight and bring the butterfly belt back to Calgary? It’s about time we found out before the pools of saliva on the floor become embarrassingly big. TO THE VIDEO!

Out first in the Manchester Arena is AJ Lee, acting like her usual happy-go-crazy self. As always, she’s joined by the surly-go-miserable Tamina. We get a recap detailing why Natalya has earned this shot tonight before the Dungeon Diva herself makes her entrance. Nattie looks so composed and quite frankly stunning as she proudly struts her way down to the ring. Let’s hope her bladder is as composed as she looks!

Following a special in-ring set of introductions from Tony Chimel (who once again doesn’t say where AJ is from, who accompanied her to the ring or what her character’s surname is), the match begins. The girls lock up before Natalya quickly takes advantage and throws AJ down with a headlock takeover. More chain wrestling ensues with head scissors, kip-ups and schoolgirls before AJ locks in a side headlock. Nattie trys to break free yet AJ grabs at Natalya’s roots and keeps the submission locked in. Tal then hoists AJ in the air yet AJ hits a headlock takeover, showing how easy it can be to just shift those hips in order to keep momentum in your corner.

The girls get back to their feet and Natalya locks in a hammerlock, which AJ bursts out of thanks to a stiff looking elbow to the mush. I feel like we’re in the midst of Submission city as opposed to Manchester as AJ utilises another – this time a wristlock. Natalya rolls and flips her way out of the predicament and then hits a gorgeous throw. She goes for the first cover of the match so far yet can only muster a two count. Natalya whips AJ across the ropes, with the latter then traversing over the back of the former crucifix style yet Nattie is too fresh and powerful to be taken down for the pin and she grabs AJ by the hair and talks some smack. Following another Irish whip into the corner, AJ floats over Natalya before kicking her in the legs and throwing her by the hair to the mat. Nat avoids AJ’s running move before hitting a whirlybird scoop slam, proving she’s got plenty of life left in her yet. The former 1-time Divas Champion then picks AJ up, ramming her into the turnbuckle in the process. After a few kicks, Nattie goes for a Sharpshooter, yet AJ wriggles free and goes for a breather on the outside.

Natalya wants AJ to stop breathing, so she runs in hot pursuit of the champion. Tamina Snuka makes her presence felt yet Natalya shows how focused she is tonight; she knew AJ was about to baseball slide dropkick her yet she just side-stepped out of the way before proceeding to throw AJ into the barricade. Back in the ring, the girls tussle in the corner before Nattie scales the second rope. Heights are not normally Nattie’s forte and it shows, as AJ trips Nattie to the ground, smacking the back of her head and lower back big style.

After a commercial break, AJ is still in control of the challenger, wrenching the oxygen out of Nattie with a modified chinlock. Mrs Wilson then breaks free yet she slowly runs into a spinning heel kick for her troubles. She’s clearly not got enough breath back into those dungeon destroyed lungs! Ok, that sounds way more sinister after I typed it… Anyway, AJ goes for her first pin attempt of the match and although Nattie is short of breath, she’s not short of fight, and she kicks out. AJ then crushes Nattie’s windpipe onto the middle rope before hitting her head off the top turnbuckle and throwing her to the outside. Natalya has been thrown to “the wolves” AKA Tamina, yet Tamina ends up looking like a baby seal or something as all she does is kick Natalya once; make the most of the time you have Tamina for god sake!

Back in the ring, AJ goes for another unsuccessful cover before lynching in a sleeper hold complete with vicegrip-like body scissors. After a good 30 seconds in hold, Nattie makes it to her feet yet AJ beats her to the punch, well the elbow, as before Natalya can elbow AJ, AJ is quicker than a hiccup in using Nattie’s hair to take her to the mat once more. AJ skips like a lunatic for a short time yet it nearly costs her because Natalya hits a schoolgirl for two. Natalya looks to have regained control but just when you think AJ is down and out, she pounces, NXT Season 3 vs Naomi style with a sick DDT.

AJ goes for a cover yet it’s not enough to keep tenacious Tal down! She then beings to spin her web yet Nattie spins right back out! Nattie hits a kick to the stomach followed by a clothesline and then a snap suplex. Following a dropkick to the back, Natalya pulls AJ to her feet before knocking her right back down again with her discus clothesline. She mounts AJ for the cover yet all of her body weight is still not enough. The challenger goes for the Sharpshooter again yet AJ kicks her way out before getting desperate, utilizing a schoolgirl and small package in quick succession.

AJ charges at Natalya and the latter of which has had enough! It’s third time lucky for Natalya who locks in the Sharpshooter. AJ writhes in pain and clambers towards the bottom rope like a thirsty traveller lunging for an oasis in the desert… or something like that… Natalya pulls AJ back into the center of the ring and it looks like we’re about to get a new Champion….. until Tamina enters the ring and boots the lips off of Natalya’s face! The referee calls for the bell as Tamina stares at Natalya’s lifeless body. AJ gets back to her feet and then locks in the Black Widow, adding insult to injury to an emotional Natalya.

Thoughts: Holy mackerel, what a match! Whilst some parts were a little rough around the edges, I really enjoyed this match. The MVP for me is Natalya, who made every move look realistic and painful. I especially loved how after she had the life choked out of her by AJ, when she went to run across the ropes, it was clear to see that she was slow and lethargic, unable to muster any offence because of AJ’s submission. She made herself look passionate and determined throughout and she made AJ look like a genuine threat. Natalya could sell ice to eskimos if you ask me.

Another positive was the length of this match. I can’t remember the last time we saw a match this long. It just goes to show that if given plenty of time, the women can deliver the goods. Another thing I liked was ow important the match felt by being placed on Main Event. Backed up by the video replay from Natalya’s win two weeks ago on SmackDown and the in-ring introductions, I legit felt like we could see a new Champion crowned.

A lot of people seemingly complained about the finish yet I thought it was excellent. Natalya had not let Tamina get within her head through the entire match and she finally forgot about her right at the last second, letting the hysteria of a potential win take over. Alex Riley perfectly put over how Natalya’s three year wait for a one-on-one title match had been so cruelly taken from her and fans will definitely start to root for he even more knowing how she was robbed by a cheap bit of interference from Tamina.

Main Event often feels like Superstars in that it features basic, throwaway bouts, yet this week’s showing proved that if WWE add a little storyline and ‘big match feeling’ into the mix, they can come up trumps for the Divas. Main Event isn’t watched by the masses, yet it’s still a good enough platform to spotlight the Divas on, so more storyline-driven action on this show please! Let’s hope the storyline continues now with Natalya aiming for a fair shot at AJ’s championship. And with that, stay tuned, Jack will be back!

Picture of the Day: Winter Takes on a Different Look for Upcoming Web Series

8

We’re used to seeing former TNA Knockout Katarina, AKA Winter, sport a rather enchanting look while in the ring, but it seems those days are behind us, as she’s traded in the darker look for something a bit out of her comfort zone.

If you’re wondering where the above photo comes from – since we can assume she doesn’t dress like this in her day to day life – it’s for an upcoming sci-fi/fantasy web series titled Tinker.

The picture was posted on the series’s official Facebook page along with special shots from the rest of the cast. The caption revealed her character name(s), listing her as “Katarina Leigh Waters as Eldine Herzhaft & Verdalet Merewood.”

Needless to say, this is quite a change of pace for the woman who once portrayed a witch-esque figure famous for the drugging and manipulation of one Angelina Love.

Perhaps the Winter character was beyond its years given the newfound popularity of dark magic with shows like FX’s American Horror Story: Coven and Lifetime’s Witches of East End, but we’re beyond excited to see what trouble she causes as the ever so interesting Eldine Herzhaft & Verdalet Merewood (try saying those names five times fast).

For more information on Tinker, you can visit their official Facebook page.

‘Total Divas’ First Look: Nikki Bella Moves in With John Cena

On this Sunday’s Total Divas, Nikki Bella moves in with John Cena.

John seems a little taken aback when Nikki’s boxes (all 26 of them) arrive, especially when he finds out what’s inside one of them.
