Picture of the Day: Brie Mode Makes its Highly Anticipated Return

28

Admit it, of all the returns you’ve ever seen in wrestling, one of your most anticipated was that of the one and only Brie Mode!

Brie Mode, of course made popular by Total Divas star Brie Bella, is that oh so exciting time (for viewers) when Brie tends to get a little bit…tipsy, if you will.

Brie posted the above photo on her Instagram account, captioning it, “BRIEMODE!!!!!!! #totaldivas #briemode”, which we hope was actually posted when Brie Mode was in full effect.

Sure, Daniel Bryan may not be a fan, but come on, let’s not beat around the bush. We all know that in addition to Sandra the Seamstress, the late Gismo Neidhart and Heel Jane Geddes, Brie Mode was a true surprise breakout star of Total Divas. Could Daniel just be a little jealous perhaps? You know, since his popularity isn’t totally skyrocketing into the stratosphere or anything like that.

Whatever the case may be, we hope you’ll all safely channel your inner Brie Mode at least once in your lifetime.

Trish Stratus Gives Birth

34

Trish Stratus has finally given birth!

Trish, who first announced her pregnancy back in April during her WWE Hall of Fame induction speech, gave birth today to son Maximus Stratus Fisico. The baby weighed in at a healthy eight pounds, three ounces.

The announcement comes a week after Max’s due date, and is via a simple graphic posted to Trish’s official website, giving her spin on the traditional birth announcement.

Congrats Trish! Now the real challenge begins…

WWE Debuts New “Rise Above Cancer” Collection

WWE has revealed new merchandise for their annual Susan G. Komen Foundation fundraising effort. Merchandise sales will help benefit the organization, which works to find a cure for breast cancer.

This year, every Diva and Superstar who currently has a shirt has had their shirts remade in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kaitlyn and AJ Lee are among some of the new designs available.

You can purchase shirts from the new line at Shop.WWE.com.

Divas Championship Match Confirmed for Battleground

This Sunday, AJ Lee will defend her Divas Championship against Brie Bella, as comfirmed by WWE.com earlier today.

For weeks, it looked as though Natalya would be facing off against AJ for the title, but things took a turn last Monday on Raw when Brie scored a pinfall victory over the Divas Champion.

AJ has been on a quest to show she’s better than the stars of Total Divas and even defeated Brie, Natalya and Naomi at last month’s Night of Champions Pay-Per-View. Will things be different when AJ has to defend her title on-on-one?

Are you excited for this match?

Brooke Hogan Keeping Busy After TNA: New Music and Reality Show Appearance

0

Over the summer, VP of the Knockouts division Brooke Hogan parted ways with TNA.

We haven’t heard much from Brooke over the last few months, but she recently spoke with OnlineAthens.com and clued us in to what she’s been up to lately.

Hogan recently filmed an episode of the television show Weird America, a program about “psychic energies” and other paranormal phenomena.

“I’m actually personally interested in this show because I have a little bit of history with a psychic background, kind of a sixth sense-type thing,” Hogan told the website.

Brooke also mentioned she’s been working on reigniting her music career. If you remember in 2005, Hogan had a brief musical career with her song “About Us”. Looks like she’s working on creating some more tunes.

“I’ve been in Nashville for a little bit. I’ve come up with a great set of songs, and I have a lot more than I need for one album right now. I just kind of took a break and needed to start over,” Hogan said.

There wasn’t any mention of her TNA departure in the article, but it looks like Brooke is still determined as ever to achieve success, in typical Hogan fashion.

Report: WWE Officials High on ‘Total Divas’ Star

0

Eva Marie seems to be getting some praise from WWE officials.

In an article on the Bleacher Report, it’s noted that despite not being the most technical wrestler, WWE sees a big future for Eva Marie.

Thanks to her her cover girl looks and quite an impressive modeling portfolio, the WWE seems to believe she’ll be quite a marketable face.

Thoughts: That being said, what else does she have to offer to wrestling? We’ve seen plenty of model Divas before and they haven’t exactly been the best but we’ve also seen some models turn into some of the best wrestlers of the modern era.

Do you see Eva Marie as a top Diva in the future?

Snap Judgment: Will Brie Bella or Natalya Get a Divas Title Shot?

Our Snap Judgment feature asks you questions and gets a gut answer.

Every so often, we’ll ask a simple question, and you’ll vote in the poll. Remember: go with your gut. We want to know what you really think. Hey, it’s called Snap Judgment for a reason!

Both Brie Bella and Natalya have some form of claim to face AJ Lee for the Divas Championship this Sunday at Battleground, but if only one Diva gets the nod, who do you think it will be?

Quick, vote in the poll below and tell us what you picked in the comments!

Picture of the Day: Prepare for Trouble…and Make it Double

28

One’s a brash GM, the other a newly minted bodyguard. In their own ways, they’re both trouble.

Tamina Snuka shared this photo of herself alongside Vickie Guerrero just before heading to a Bourbon Street WrestleMania 30 kick off event in New Orleans. She tweeted:

We love their friendship! While at first glance this may seem like an odd couple, it makes sense that these two single mothers would bond while on the road.

As for the trouble they’re referring to, we assume there’s always some to find on Bourbon Street. But really, all they need to do to cause a ruckus is give Vickie a megaphone.

Tell Us: What Would You Want in an Indy Wrestling Web Series?

Diva Dirt is constantly trying to bring new, innovative features to the site, and we want to pick your brain to put together our newest idea.

We’re in the (very very) early stages of putting together an unscripted web series featuring a big name in indy women’s wrestling. She would produce a five minute video on a weekly or semi-monthly basis.

We want to know: what would you like to see in this web series? Ideally, it would maintain a certain level of kayfabe (i.e. no shoot interviews) and be easy for her to film on the road.

So, what would be on your wish list for this series? Tell us in the comments!

Picture of the Day: Nikki Bella Gets Goatbombed

38

Nikki Bella spent Saturday night on the town with several of her closest girlfriends, but newly engaged sister Brie wasn’t along for the ride, probably on the road for the WWE’s weekend live events.

But wait, is that Brie we see behind Nikki’s head? And… Daniel Bryan? How rude of them to photobomb Nikki!

Okay, we couldn’t resist getting in a goat joke. But seriously, Brie needs to get that painted as a mural in her house. It’s majestic.

Nikki posted the above photo on Instagram, captioning it, “My Brizee @briannagc is in the background! Do Not Disturb at The Lodge!”

Nikki Mode: activated.

SHINE 13 in Review: A Friendship in Jeopardy

SHINE 13 was a night of twists and turns as two best friends found themselves on opposing fronts, while a shrewd and villainous champion looked to continue her title reign against a familiar foe of late.

Circumstances out of SHINE’s control meant last month’s show had seen the company enter its second year in somewhat subdued fashion, but within minutes of SHINE 13 any worries of a repeat incident were thrown swiftly over the ropes (which, thankfully, were more secure than last month) as the women of SHINE – including a host of debutantes – brought things firmly back to the lofty standards we’ve come to expect month in, month out.

In the main event, Valkyrie leader Rain‘s SHINE Championship was on the line against a fellow veteran in Angelina Love. It was the third match between the two in SHINE with both women sharing a victory apiece prior to last night, so Love in particular had everything to play for, knowing a defeat here would likely see her have to make her way to the back of the pecking order. With Valkyrie enforcer April Hunter absent from her usual position at ringside, the playing field was levelled, and while Rain put her heel cunning to good use a number of times throughout the match, she showed that even on her own her championship credentials are not to be sniffed at, pinning Love – cleanly – with her patented Implant DDT after a great, evenly-matched contest to make sure the title stays firmly in Valkyrie’s hands for another month.

If there was a Venn diagram of heel stables in women’s wrestling (and I have no doubt that there is one somewhere), it wouldn’t take long to notice certain overlaps. One in particular is that of the returning Allysin Kay, who found herself in a dilemma of loyalty last night as she and her Valkyrie team-mate Ivelisse went up against the team of the new, slimline Amazing Kong and Kay’s best friend Jessicka Havok, who leads WSU’s Midwest Militia. Havok had already issued Kay with a “me or them” ultimatum, and for most of the match it looked like friendship would prevail, with Kay refusing to wrestle when she found herself in the ring with Havok. However, in a moment of insanity Kay lunged at Kong with a discus clothesline only for Kong to duck and Kay’s forearm to wipe Havok straight off her feet, before Ivelisse hit her with the Vertigo Kick to make it two wins out of two for Valkyrie. Neither Havok nor Kay looked too impressed with the finished, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see how this transpires in the coming months as we discover where Allysin Kay’s loyalties lie.

It was also a night of debuts, with three women working their first SHINE matches. Canadian rookie Xandra Bale impressed in her maiden match, putting in a good performance in the four-way opening match of the show against La Rosa Negra, Taeler Hendrix and the victorious Su Yung, who continues to impress on the undercard. Elsewhere, Nevaeh got off to a winning start in SHINE, defeating Leva (dressed in an awesome Silent Hill nurse costume) in a solid match thanks to a distraction from her friend Sassy Stephie. Stephie herself also impressed with her S-N-S Express partner Jessie Belle, defeating Amber O’Neal and the ever-impressive Santana Garrett in a fine tag team match.

The match of the night, however, featured another debutante in Scottish sensation and Pro Wrestling:EVE Champion Nikki Storm, who started her US tour in thrilling fashion going up against Mia Yim in what was billed as an International Dream Match. Both Storm and Yim brought the match to each other, with Storm her normal feisty self, showing no sign of nerves on her American debut. After about a million near-falls (including Yim kicking out of BOTH of Storm’s finishers) a brutal and punishing 450 degree double-stomp saw Yim come out the winner, but with plenty of heads turned towards Nikki Storm, who it’s wonderful to see finally getting the global recognition she deserves.

Meanwhile, it was a mixed bag of results for Daffney‘s All-Star Squad. Many were expecting the experienced Nikki Roxx to make quick work of rising Canadian star Leah Von Dutch last night, making only her second appearance for SHINE, and although Roxx triumphed in the end thanks to the Barbie Crusher, Von Dutch put in a gutsy, spirited performance, matching Roxx hold-for-hold for vast portions of the match and making a serious statement for herself as a performer. Daffney’s other client, Solo Darling, wasn’t so fortunate, losing to Mercedes Martinez in controversial fashion following a low blow while the referee was looking elsewhere. Roxx ran in after the match to prevent a further beatdown, only for Von Dutch to come out and even the numbers. Finally, Kimberly entered the ring to make the final save, exiting with the All-Star Squad, who may well have a new addition to the group.

SHINE 13 was certainly a welcome return to form for the company, with quality wrestling from start to finish and a real sense of importance to the occasion. The introduction of the SHINE Championship two shows ago has added structure to the events while adding a new caveat to the results of undercard matches. With Rain apparently retiring at the end of the year and a plethora of potential successors in the waiting, SHINE continues to keep us on our toes, with plenty to ponder while we eagerly anticipate next month’s offering.

SmackDown Redux (September 27th, 2013): AJ Has a New Heavy

0

Hello, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this week’s SmackDown Redux! This week on the blue brand, Divas Champion AJ Lee attempts to keep her Total Divas Elimination Tour rolling, as she faces off against one half of the Funkadactyls, Cameron. Can Cameron do what her partner couldn’t last week, and knock off the champ or will AJ check another name off her list? Check out the match below:

Out first to the ring is Cameron, along with Naomi and we’re treated to that dance routine we all love so much. AJ is out next, being accompanied by… TAMINA SNUKA?!?!?! Wait… what? In a backstage vignette, AJ explains that she hired Tamina as protection because all the Divas hate her. Maybe more that she is teamed up with the champ, she’ll finally get to make that statement… Anyway, the referee signal for the bell and our match is underway!

AJ sits on the middle rope, obviously not taking Cameron seriously, but as soon as Cameron turns away AJ sneak attacks her from behind. AJ thrashes Cameron in the corner for a bit, before taking her over with a snapmare, followed by a cravat.

AJ works the submission, but Cameron fights her way back to a vertical base,  only to be snatched back down to the mat by AJ. AJ continues her assault, whipping her opponent across the ring. She goes for a splash in the corner, but Cameron moves in the nick of time and rolls up the champion for a nearfall.

Cameron sees her opportunity and goes on the offensive with a flurry of strikes, followed by a split leg drop for another nearfall. AJ tries her best to slow the raging Funkadactyl down, but Cameron makes her way to the top rope and hits a sketchy looking crossbody for another 2 count.

Before Cameron can gain any more momentum, AJ kicks her in the gut and throws her out of the ring to the floor below. AJ goes out of ring and tosses Cameron back inside, prompting Naomi to check on her partner. AJ gets a little mouthy with Naomi, but things can get physical, Tamina pulls Naomi off of the ring apron and makes a statement all over Naomi’s face with a HUGE clothesline.

Meanwhile back in the ring, Cameron takes advantage of the distraction and rolls AJ up, looking to take the upset victory. Unfortunately for Cameron, AJ kicks out and nails her with a shining wizard to pick up the victory.

Thoughts: We’re all friends here, so I’m not gonna lie to you: I didn’t go into this match with high expectations. Cameron has only ever competed in tag matches and in a very limited capacity, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect of her as a singles competitor. That said, I was pleasantly surprised. While she may not be the best in the ring, Cameron has definitely progressed and has the potential to do so much more. Sooner or later, she’ll be making her own Melina vs Alicia Fox moments.

As for the AJ/Tamina alliance, I’m not sure how feel yet. While I understand the concept of AJ needing some hired muscle, the pairing with Tamina seems random and forced, but I’ll give it a few weeks to see how it plays out between the two before I pass judgment.

That’s all for this week, guys. Leave your guesses on who you think is the next victim on the Total Divas Elimination Tour is! Until next time!

OVW Write-Up (September 26th, 2013): One Blossom Down, One to Go?

39

Hello, OVW fans! Fair warning: there is no bad ass Four-Way Ladder match this week, but there are definite signs that OVW’s heading in a compelling direction. For the second week in a row, the women of OVW compete in the main event.

We kick off this week with the new OVW Women’s Champion Hannah Blossom, who is interviewed by Gilbert Corsey:

Hannah expresses her excitement at winning the title, saying that it’s her time to shine. When asked about shoving her sister Holly off the ladder at the end of the match, Hannah acknowledges that she hasn’t heard from her sister in a few days. She hopes, though, that she can talk to her now.

Holly makes her way to the ring and admits that Hannah’s actions really upset her. She’s thought about it, though, and she now understands why she did it. She says she’s happy for Hannah. The sisters hug. Cue sitcom “awwwwwww!” track.

Lei’D Tapa can’t abide this happiness, so she interrupts the family reunion and takes the microphone. She threatens Hannah, telling her that she has something she could easily take. Holly defends her sister, standing between the two women.

Hannah grabs the mic and begins to challenge Tapa to the title match, but Holly snatches the mic away from her, telling Tapa that if she wants her sister, she has to go through her. Tapa accepts the challenge, but not before telling poor Gilbert to bow down (#BowDownGilbert?). She says that she’s going to make both of the Blossoms BOW DOWN.

But just because we have an actual wrestling feud going on, that doesn’t mean the Miss OVW contest has ceased. Thankfully, though, it has been brought backstage, in short little segments that are more fitting for filling that comedic relief role. This week, the ladies are competing in a hula hoop challenge, with several segments spread out over the night:

In the first segment we see Ray Lynn, Lylah Lodge and Jessie Belle start to hula hoop. Tapa makes a cameo, telling them that TAPA DOES NOT HULA HOOP!

In the next, we see Jessie chase off a peeping tom before we segue into a segment with Hannah and Holly. Hannah tells Holly that she doesn’t need to take on Tapa for her.

Holly informs her sister that even though she’s the Women’s Champion, they’re still in this together. She’s doing this.

In the final hula hopping segment, Ray Lynn and Lylah are still going strong. That is, until a scuffle causes Lylah to drop her hoop. This makes Ray Lynn the winner, and she tries to celebrate with her BFF Tapa. Tapa appears, pie-faces her and tells her WE ARE NOT BEST FRIENDS! Okay, I’ll admit, that made me laugh.

Finally, in the main event of the evening, we’ve got Lei’D Tapa and Holly Blossom going one-on-one. Hannah joins the commentary team for the match.

The match starts with Tapa grabbing a handful of Holly’s hair, but Holly valiantly battles back, trying to wear down Tapa with numerous blows. Tapa isn’t fazed, though, and tosses her bodily into the corner.

Holly dodges an attack and pounces on Tapa in the corner, pounding on her head. Tapa pushes her off, but she pounces right back on her. Tapa eventually grabs hold of Holly and swtches places with her, seating her on the turnbuckle and getting in some hits of her own.

Holly stumbles to the mat and dodges another attack from Tapa, hitting her with some chops before Tapa shoves her away. She knocks Holly to the mat and motions to Hannah, telling her that she’s next.

She charges at Holly, but gets a boot to the face and a kick to the stomach. Holly tries to whip Tapa into the corner, but Tapa won’t budge and instead whips her into the ropes, delivering a big boot on the rebound.

Tapa goes for a pin attempt, but pulls Holly off the mat after a two-count. Uh oh..

After toying with Holly a bit, Tapa takes one pause too long, and Holly begins to battle back, stomping on Tapa’s feet and knocking her down.

Out of nowhere, though, Tapa hits her with the TKO, and it’s all over. She pins Holly and wins the match.

Hannah and Tapa jaw a bit after the match, Hannah telling Tapa that she just made this personal.

Thoughts: I think it says a lot about the new priority OVW has for their women’s division that this match was the main event. It makes this feud seem that much more important, and I’m really happy about that. It’s the little things that can make or break a feud, and OVW’s doing a good job with this one so far.

They’re also doing a good job making Tapa look like an unstoppable force. She’s not the smoothest wrestler, but she plays a great monster, and the Blossoms sell being intimidated by her really well. I think they’re definitely setting her up for the jump to the TNA roster, and having her eventually put over Hannah will be smart.

It will be interesting to see how Tapa’s character translates to TNA, as the Knockouts there aren’t as inexperienced and small as the ones in OVW. I can’t wait to see her try and intimidate ODB.

Lastly, I need to say thank youuuu to OVW for putting the Miss OVW segments where they belong: on the sidelines. Cutting them up into small segments and allowing for actual wrestling to go on around them makes me a happy viewer.

Picture of the Day: Brie Bella Seals Her Engagement With a Kiss

58

It’s been a big day for Brie Bella, with news breaking that she and longtime boyfriend Daniel Bryan have given the Braniel Army what they’ve longed for: an engagement announcement.

Perhaps it should come as no surprise, considering she did catch the bouquet at Natalya‘s Total Divas-centric wedding, but it does appear that Daniel didn’t want to wait any longer and finally popped the question!

Brie posted the above photo on her Instagram account, captioning it, “I’m the happiest girl in the world. The Future Mrs. Danielson makes my heart smile.”

We suggest that at their impending wedding, instead of kissing the bride, Daniel takes it upon himself to give her another iron claw hold, as displayed in his attempt to make her pay for getting into Brie Mode during Natalya’s bachelorette party in Vegas.

…Speaking of which, can we expect Brie Mode to make its return during her own bachelorette party?

Full Results: SHINE Wrestling Presents SHINE 13

shine13a

Diva Dirt presents live coverage of SHINE 13, airing on iPPV tonight.

The main event sees SHINE Champion Rain defend her title against former 5-time TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love, while the undercard includes, among others, Valkyrie duo of Ivelisse and Allysin Kay facing Jessicka Havok and Amazing Kong (WWE’s Kharma) in tag team action.

SHINE 13 comes to us live from the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida, starting at 9pm ET (2am GMT). Order the event by clicking here.

Live results of the show below:

Su Yung defeated La Rosa Negra, Xandra Bale and Taeler Hendrix. A solid four-way match that was perhaps a bit too short, but still fun. Yung got the win with a Yellow Fever on Xandra Bale.

Nikki Roxx defeated Leah Von Dutch. A great, back-and-forth match, and one of the best performances from Von Dutch I’ve seen so far, matching the veteran Roxx hold-for-hold for most of the contest. Roxx got the win with a Barbie Crusher.

Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle defeat Santana and Amber O’Neal. Stephie gets the win on O’Neal with Kiss My Sass. Good match.

Mercedes Martinez defeated Solo Darling. Mercedes got the win with the Fisherman Buster after hitting a low blow on Solo while the referee was talking to Daffney at ringside. Post-match, Nikki Roxx comes out to attack Martinez, only to be thwarted by Leah Von Dutch, who in turn is attacked by Kimberly! Kimberly celebrates in the ring as the next match’s competitors come out.

Nevaeh defeated Leva. Nevaeh picked up the win after a distraction from Sassy Stephie and Jessie Belle. Leva was dressed as a nurse from Silent Hill, and pulled off the costume and mannerisms in fantastically creepy fashion. Definitely one of her best costumes yet. Post-match, Nevaeh stands at the ring entrance with Stephie and Jessie and announces that “the N in “S n’ S” stands for Nevaeh.

Mia Yim defeated Nikki Storm. Storm looked superb on her SHINE debut, portraying her usual cocky, short-fused heel character from the British indies. Yim got the win with a 450 splash, but not before kicking out of everything Storm had to offer. Great outing from both women.

Allysin Kay and Ivelisse defeated Jessicka Havok and Amazing Kong. Kay refused to wrestle Havok throughout the match, tagging in Ivelisse whenever she found herself in the ring with her best friend. The finish came when in a moment of craziness Kay clotheslined Havok by accident, allowing Ivelisse to hit an Enzuigiri for the 3-count. Kay and Havok stared down after the match.

Rain defeated Angelina Love to retain the SHINE Championship. Although Rain was her usual sneaky heel self throughout the match, she got the win in reasonably clean fashion, with the Implant DDT. A solid performance from both women, if a little anti-climatic at the end.

That’s all for our live coverage of SHINE 13! Check back tomorrow for a full review!

Impact Write-Up (September 26th, 2013): Are You on #TeamDixie?

110

What’s up faithful Knockout followers? We had lots and lots of Knockout coverage on last night’s Impact, so I’m not gonna bore you with an introduction. Let’s get right into it.

It all began with a confident, arrogant-looking Dixie Carter making her way to her locker room I assume, and getting stopped by Sting to discuss just what is going on with her right now. She’s barely bothered by him, though, and gives all her attention to her pretty in pink iphone. Sting cuts to the chase, says that this isn’t the Dixie that he knows, and Dixie says that he needn’t worry about it because ‘Dixie Carter has got this one handled.’ Alright, so let’s talk about Dixie’s top. No, just no. Besides that, the segment did its job in showing that this new Dixie Carter is here to stay.

Our next glimpse of Knockout goodness comes from Brooke Tessmacher, who might just have the most perfect body ever. Honestly. What I would give for that stomach… she’s rocking out to accompany Bully Ray in the opening segment wearing some denim shorts and a black crop top. I’m not a fan of the boots, but she looks great and happy for her, that she’s getting some spotlight. Brooke has come so, so far from where she started and it’s nice to see her being rewarded. It might not be a Knockouts championship but it IS being in main event segments.

Bully talks about beating AJ Styles, and how he plans to do it, but he really uses the time to talk up Dixie, and how much she’s inside AJ’s head. It’s a nice little throwback to remind us that Dixie is a woman on a warparth. He says Dixie Carter is the person that made AJ Styles phenomenal. Bully is soon interrupted by the rest of Aces and Eights, who last week were taken by surprise when Bully declared Brooke to be the reason he is where he is now. Aces and Eights took exception to that, and so they made their way out to air some grievances. They say that Bully cares more about his ‘hoe’ than his bros. How rude. Brooke is not happy about that one. Bully defends his missus, warning Aces and Eights not to call Brooke a hoe… and of course this starts a loud hoe chant! Brooke and Bully head out soon after, talking trash all the way home.

Next up is a six person tag featuring the new Knockouts champ ODB – who teams with Eric Young and Joseph Park – and Gail Kim, who has the Bromance on her side: Robbie E and Jessie. Christy Hemme handles the introductions, with Gail and her team coming out first, followed of course by ODB and her boys. Gail looks gorgeous in her orange attire. It looks like Gail and ODB are going to start things off for us. Gail’s all chit chat and ODB is all boobs and… nope, Gail tags out and they let the boys get to work first. No fair. Gail is, however, on hand to tangle up Joseph Park in the corner so one of the Bromance can get in a hearty little hit to the mid section. Around the eighteen minute mark, Gail gets in some cheap shots on Joseph Park that don’t bode well for her at all. After a mighty slap he loses it and she hightails it out of there. Gail breaks up a pin attempt for the other team, but ODB gets in there too and tosses Gail out onto the ramp. ODB then smothers Robbie E with her boobs, before Jessie falls victim to a series of splashes! The last of which is delivered by the Knockouts champion, ODB, and she then covers him for the three count.

Right after an ad for the countdown to Bound for Glory, we get a nice little treat. That’s right! Lei’D Tapa is coming to Impact, and she can’t come quick enough. I’m so excited for her to breath new life into the Knockouts division, and I think it’d be pretty interesting to see her take on ODB; they’re certainly similar in their build, strength and physicality, so it’s a match I hope they book!

Velvet Sky makes an appearance backstage with her on and off screen boyfriend, Chris Sabin. She looks gorgeous as Chris and Austin Aries discuss get a little riled up while discussing who, generally, had the better title win. Sabin is totally full of it and Velvet isn’t so sure as she looks on.

Velvet accompanied Sabin out to ringside for his X Divison title match against Manik last night. Velvet was really there for her man, cheering him on and feeling the pain when he got hit bad. She plays the managerial role well and I hope this storyline goes somewhere exciting for her. Sabin feigns a knee issue, which takes him outside the ring and to Velvet, who is looking mighty concerned for her man. She starts to help him from ringside, Manik heads out to join them and Sabin uses Velvet as a shield, shoving her right into his opponent and, might I add, into harm’s way! It’s classic, heely and is sure to piss some people off, including Velvet I hope. Oh, his knee is fine btw.

A little later, Manik locks in a submission on Sabin and he claws for the ropes. He gets to Velvet instead, who is dragged into the match and once again used as a shield by Sabin! Not cool, bro. Karma is a bitch, Sabin, and that’s why you got pinned. Oops. Sabin attacks Manik post match and Velvet can’t believe it. She’s shouting at him to stop but does he listen? Oh no, no, no. Aries heads out to make the save and (I’m a broken record) Sabin ditches the ring, but not before putting Velvet in harms way AGAIN!

Brooke makes a second appearance around the fifteen minute mark here, looking and laughing as Bully punishes his Aces and Eights bros. She still looks amaze.

To finish out a night of Knockouts galore, Dixie Carter heads out to the ring to meet AJ and Hulk Hogan, apologizing for her interrupting them. She doesn’t meant to be rude, and she goes on to say that she’s really, sincerely grateful to Hogan for everything he’s done for TNA, and for her. But guess what, he’s just an employee! She then turns her attention to AJ, whom she imitates as she recites his ‘I’m gonna make you get down on your knees and beg’ line from last week. In your dreams, AJ! While Hogan may see potential in the phenomenally marginal one, Dixie on the other hand does not, and so she rips up AJ’s contract! She doesn’t mean to be rude – obviously, look how nice she’s being! – but she wants AJ out of her ring! She yells repeatedly, he gets in her face and she brushes him off with a nice little wave, telling him to just ‘go on, honey.’

Snap.

Hogan tries to reason with Dixie, but she gets it. She knows the people aren’t happy with her and she knows Hulk doesn’t either. But they don’t understand. How could they? Ninety nine percent of the people out there have never had to live in Dixie’s world. All the decisions, the heart wrenching ones that she has to make? None of them understand. People criticize her, they put her down but they need her. The crowd boos, but Dixie carries on. I got a little distracted by how she’s wobbling in her shoes a little bit, and they aren’t that high… Anyyyyway. Dixie turns to Hogan a final time. She’s not saying what he did was a mistake (that being the contract signing with AJ) but she’d have appreciated it a lot more if he’d run it by her first. But she just wants to know one thing. Is Hulk gonna get in line, is he going to be on Team Dixie? Or is he going to pull and AJ, and sit on the sidelines.

Dixie is giving him one week to make a choice.

So I leave you with this, Knockouts lovers…

Are you #TeamDixie?

Until next week, Eleri out!

Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan Get Engaged

You can guarantee Brie Bella will be saying “Yes! Yes! Yes!” as she is now engaged to her WWE wrestler beau, Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson).

The former WWE Champion popped the question to his girlfriend of three years during a hike in Big Sur, California, on Wednesday.

Brie told E! News: “I have never in my life seen him so nervous. I’ve been by him when he’s gone out for WrestleMania and some really big things. He got really, really nervous and he started talking about how long we’ve been together. He got down on one knee and compared our love. He said he’ll love me forever like the ocean goes on.”

Oh, and romantic D-Bry didn’t just get down on bended knee, he invited Brie’s whole family to join them. (How awkward would it have been if she said no?)

Brie added: “He flew out my whole family and his family and surprised me for an engagement dinner. That was probably the most special thing anyone has ever done for me.”

The former Divas Champion’s twin sister Nikki — who has hinted on Total Divas that she wants her man John Cena to put a ring on it too — is naturally excited for her sibling, and it looks like she can’t wait to get Brie into ‘Brie Mode’ again!

Brie revealed: “Nikki was over the moon happy for me. I could just see in her eyes that she’s just so happy for me. I think she’s excited to plan the wedding because she’ll be my maid of honor. She’s already talking about the bachelorette party.”

The entire proposal was filmed for E!’s hit new reality show, Total Divas. You can watch the romantic moment when the show returns for six new episodes from November 17.

Picture of the Day: Baby Stratus, Six Days Overdue and Counting

32

It feels like a lifetime ago that current Hall of Famer Trish Stratus dropped the bombshell that come September, she would be delivering a little Stratusfaction of her own.

Unfortunately, it seems that things might not pan out as she predicted in her Hall of Fame speech. Baby Stratus is currently six days overdue, and if he waits a few more, he’ll end up being born in a completely different month!

Trish posted the stunning picture above on her Instagram account, captioning it, “6 days overdue. This belly is gonna be gone any day now and I’ll be holding my baby boy any time now! #babystratus #cantwait #babyboy #bellybump”.

100% Stratusfaction may always be guaranteed, but apparently it can’t guarantee a delivery date.
