How to Be a Halloween Diva: Part 2

6

Halloween is just around the corner, and if you’re stuck on a costume, you’re pretty much out of luck. But if you’re willing to prance around in costume any of the other 364 days of the year and are yearning to dress as your favorite WWE Diva, check out the “costumes” we’ve assembled. Below is Part 1, with Part 2 following tomorrow:

MARYSE

Maryse has that French sense of style and sexiness – she’s always got that allure about her. She’s never over the top, and yet can be sensual with just a glance. Maryse’s look is defined by her long, flowing cape and the bootcovers/legwarmers that compliment her outfit and pull the whole look together.

• The Look:
Hair: platinum blonde wig
Outfit: keyhole halter top & matching shorts, metallic legwarmers, black flat patent boots, black cape
• The Act: Of course, speak with a sultry French accent. Walk with a feminine strut, smirk, and display a over-confident air. Whip your cape around for good measure.

Tiffany’s Like Two-Face, But Less Awesome

3

In honor of Halloween, Tiffany had posed for a photoshoot, titled “Two Sides”, showing the two typical “good vs. evil” sides – an angel and a devil. I haven’t posted a Tiffany photoshoot in a while, as most are dull and as she doesn’t have much going on character-wise, there isn’t ever much to say. This just seemed like a moment to bypass that, as this one’s holiday themed. I’m not a fan of the cliche or slutty Halloween Costumes (they’re about as creative as dirt), and an angel and a devil are about as cliche as you get. That, along with the fact that she’s posing rather dully – she’s not even playing a “good” or “bad” character when wearing the costumes – makes this an overall poor photoshoot. Maybe if they got a more capable Diva to do the concept, the photoshoot wouldn’t look so much like an ad for Spencer’s gifts.

SmackDown Watch: October 31, 2008

On a Halloween edition of SmackDown, the Divas donned their costumes from Cyber Sunday in a six Diva tag team match. Brie Bella, Maria and Michelle McCool faced Maryse, Natalya and Victoria.

HALLOWEEN COSTUME SIX DIVA TAG MATCH

How to Be a Halloween Diva: Part 1

4

Halloween is just around the corner, and if you’re stuck on a costume, you’re pretty much out of luck. But if you’re willing to prance around in costume any of the other 364 days of the year and are yearning to dress as your favorite WWE Diva, check out the “costumes” we’ve assembled. Below is Part 1, with Part 2 following tomorrow:

BETH PHOENIX

Beth Phoenix has a pretty unique look – she is the Glamazon, after all. To achieve her look, you would need to focus on the basic look: slick catsuit, long blonde hair (with red accents), and the headband/tiara that’s ever-present on her forehead.

The Look:
Hair: long blonde wig, red hair extensions
Outfit: vinyl halter catsuit, black & white wingtip boots
Accessories: gold crystal tiara headband
The Act: Speak rarely, and give nearly everyone who you encounter a cold stare. A few smirks are allowed, but Beth is much of a smiler, so keep those to a minimum. Don’t forget to break out a few body-builder poses while you’re at it! Walk slow and determined, and above all: intimidate.

The Early Bird Gets the Worm

9

Now, no need to check your calendars – it’s not Halloween just yet – but Natalya‘s new photoshoot may have you second guessing that claim. This one, “Beauty in Black”, features the Diva in clothing that’s a bit eccentric, to say the least. The lacy and torn look in shades of deep purple and black elicit images of witches, appropriately enough. Maybe with more appropriate pants, it would look less witch-stuck-in-the-80s. Maybe it’s a tip-of-the-hat to Halloween, but in any case, I’m not loving it. Natalya is charming enough on her own – her poses are good – but her choice in attire is never all that impressive. But hey, I guess something’s got to fall by the wayside. At least she’s taking chances, and I’ll take that over blah-ness any day.

Braaiinnnnsssssss…

12

No, Jillian Hall isn’t floating in mid-air, she’s just crawling towards the camera in a (non-intentional) zombie-like fashion. Appropriately, this new photoshoot is called “Looks That Kill”. Of course, it’s just because Halloween is in a few days, but I think a few of you will agree with me when I say that Jillian looks a little dead behind the eyes. I do appreciate that she’s wearing a necklace reminiscent of the ones I’d wear when I was 11 years old – you know, those fake tattoo-looking things.. Alas, this shoot is more of the same from her, a step down from her last photoshoot, but it’s not terrible. But, just for kicks, maybe she could dress up as her former self for Halloween. Maybe she’ll find that she enjoys it so much that she’ll stick with it.

Layla Who? Layla London!

11

Among our fabulous WWE Divas, second names are like gold dust. Just ask the likes of Maria or Melina, who’ve had their second names dropped. So I guess former Diva Search winner, Layla has graduated as WWE has awarded her a surname! According to latest reports, WWE is now advertising Layla by the name of Layla London.

Hmm, I don’t know about you but I quite love it. The way I look at it is, they could have done a lot worse – just ask Wesley Holiday. Looks like Layla’s new surname is a nod to her nationality, the Diva was born and raised in London, England which is just where I type this post! Love it or hate it? Let us know!

Night of the Living Dead Divas

5

Oh, those folks at WWE.com are a blast aren’t they? With Halloween around the corner, what would be more fun that Photoshopping some our favourite “Entertainers” and Divas? I know! Sounds like a productive day at the office…

Among the Divas “zombified” are Beth Phoenix, Candice, Eve, Layla and Maria. What do you think? I won’t name any names but I’d say some of them look better in their zombie form than they usually do… Zing!

SmackDown Spoilers: October 31, 2008

This week’s SmackDown falls on Halloween! So what have our delectable Divas got in store for us?

Brie Bella, Maria & Michelle McCool def. Maryse, Natalya & Victoria in a six Diva tag match. Maria got the win with a top rope crossbody.

Win A Date With Tad Hamilton Kelly Kelly!

7

So, you admire the Divas. You love them! In fact, you almost have an unhealthy borderline-obsession with them. But wouldn’t you like to take it to the next level? C’mon, you know you do. Well, here’s your chance! Kelly Kelly is up for grabs in an online contest, where one lucky winner will get to join this hottie for thrilling date! Oh yes, contain yourselves.

The Cowhead Show (whatever that is) is holding a contest for one lucky fan to win a date with WWE Diva Kelly Kelly. The details are as followed: “Who WOULDN’T want to win a date with WWE Diva Kelly Kelly? All you need to do to enter is send us a headshot of yourself and a short note saying why you would be a good match for her. We’ll pick the top entries and bring them in for our version of the Dating Game.”

Assuming this contest won’t discriminate against the ladies, my entry shall go a little something like this: (Name) Josie (Why I’d Be A Good Match) Well, I love the Divas! I especially love little blondes who bare their tummies like Britney Spears, and while Kelly Kelly may be a former exhibitionist, I am and forever will be a sure bet; I put out on the first date! Kelly Kelly, I’m going to RAWk your world!

I mean, c’mon! Who wouldn’t want to pick me? All of those pervy 50+ year old men that is sure to enter in on this contest, pffft… they’ve got nothing on me! HLA ALL THE WAY!

For those of you that are really, really interested in this contest (and hey, I’m not judging you) click here. Serious inquiries only, please.

C’est Magnifique!

11

One SmackDown Diva may be striving to be the brand’s resident “fashionista”, but I think Maryse is giving her a run for her money, if not stealing the title outright. Her new photoshoot, “Magnificent”, is downright gorgeous. Granted, what she’s wearing wouldn’t necessarily be seen on the high-end catwalks (being a denim bikini top and hot pants), but as far as wrestling outfits go, it’s edgy without going over-the-top. The shoes are definitely on the high-fashion end, and seeing them in a WWE shoot is bizarre, but I like it. It gives the look a more fashion-forward feeling, and I think we can all agree that that is something WWE shoots usually lack. And, to tack this on, if you look at one of the photos below you’ll notice a tattoo on her inner wrist. Is it just me (and my blindness) or is that new? I can’t make out what it says, but maybe it’s a lovely French lyric or something. :P

Raw Redux – October 27, 2008

25

This week on Raw: In six Diva action, Kelly Kelly led her team of Candice and Mickie James to victory over Jillian, Katie Lea and Layla.

Thoughts & Reactions
A decent match and a fun segment were on the bill from our Monday night crew. Not what I expected or wanted to see this week, but I have to say, it wasn’t overall a bad night for the Divas. I thought WWE may finally create a storyline this week with Cyber Sunday over, perhaps Kelly vs Beth for the title – it felt like the perfect time to start a new programme but nope. However, the six Diva tag team match was a good watch and Beth’s reaction to Charlie Haas was hilarious.

Starting with Beth, Haas looked exactly like the Glamazon lol. It’s almost eerie to be honest. I was hoping for a showdown between the real and fake Beths, would’ve been far more entertaining than anything involving Santino. Well not much more to add here…

Boy, did my heart stop when I found out Layla would actually be in a match! Holy frig! I ain’t gonna lie, it’s one of the few things that have excited me about Raw’s women’s division in the past few months. Says a lot about the division, if you ask me. When Kelly, Candice and Mickie came out, I actually began thinking about how strong the faces are on Raw at the moment. You have three popular Divas who can go in the ring each and every week, that’s a great thing. Meanwhile on the heel side, we only have one strong Diva in Beth Phoenix while we cannot take the likes of Jillian and Katie Lea seriously because we know they are but jobbers. If WWE actually built up Jillian or Katie a little bit more, I think the division could be very strong. You have three believable faces but only one believable heel. Hell, I think the less experienced Layla (who I heart and adore) is a more effective and believable heel than Jillian and Katie. I can believe that Layla is a bad ass Diva who’ll eff you up, but Jillian and Katie at this point are jokes. I hope WWE builds up Layla a little stronger than they have done with those two, because we need some strong heels on Raw. The only Diva that didn’t get perpetually buried like Jillian and Katie was Melina when she was a heel. She was always the number two heel behind Beth and when you had a tag team match say Mickie & Candice vs Beth & Melina, it seemed like an even match-up. We all knew the three faces would win this match, if WWE bothered in the slighest, the fans may just have felt this was an even match-up. Like I say, Layla is a greet heel in the making and I hope she’s not buried like her partners from last night.

The match saw some great work from all three faces, it was great to see Mickie back on Raw and back in the fold. However, I wonder if that was not just a technicality. I think WWE only booked her for Raw because she won the Costume Contest at Cyber Sunday, had she not I think she’d still be in limbo. Nice work from all three of the Divas this week, they all gelled well together which makes it easier to believe they are a team. I know I say it every week, but I think last night was a significant statement that Kelly is being pushed as the new top face on Raw. Even though WWE loves Candice and the fans love Mickie, Kelly was the one again, who came in off the hot tag and finished the match up. Say what you want about Kelly, but I think she’s worked really hard and she deserves this confidence that WWE is showing in her at the moment. Plus I’d personally rather see Kelly get a push than my darling *cough* Candice and let’s face it, as much as we all love Mickie, she needs to take a back seat for a while. Kelly is a new fresh face and I think this is an example that if you apply yourself, learn your craft, you will be rewarded. But who’s to say that Kelly won’t just be the flavour of the year, which I think was the case with Candice in 2007. Her stock has dropped in favour of Kelly, this year. As for the heels, I would have loved to see more of Layla in the ring, I really want to see her in a one on one match. I was a little wary of how Layla would fare in the ring, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen her in a match. It’s hard to believe that just a few months ago she was having show stopping matches with Michelle McCool on SmackDown, that seems a lifetime ago. I hope Layla’s still got it, she’s a great wrestler for someone who’s only been around for two years. And also wouldn’t it be cool to see Layla vs Kelly here and now on Raw? I mean after their disaster of a match on ECW in January, nearly a year later, it would be so cool to see them go at it.

Some other random tidbits: How effing funny was it when WWE cut Candice’s disrobing with Mickie’s entrance? Usually that’s the money shot for WWE, they just love showing us the disrobe. A welcome change and also possibly a subtle hint of Candice’s de-push. And how funny was it when the heels came out, Jillian was front and centre? The Diva in front and centre is usually considered the top heel in the match and it was Jillian the Joke (ooh I like that, new nickname!). I’d have put Layla front and centre myself, she’s the only one that hasn’t been completely devalued and the only one we can actually take seriously as a heel because she hasn’t jobbed every single match of her WWE career.

FCW Watch (Episode 4): Roucka vs Wesley Holiday

Sunday’s FCW episode saw an actual Divas match! Former Diva Search contestant, Roucka locked up with Wesley Holiday (who?). Check out the match below:

FCW: EPISODE 4

As for the match, while there were some good moves, it felt like exactly what it was: a training match. I don’t really want to judge too harshly, obviously they are training and seem to be coming along well. The timing of the match was slow, some of the spots were boring but overall, that is to be expected. Are they ready for the primetime? No but there is hope.

Punk & Lita: The Sequel + Major Cameo!

9

How pleasant, shades of my Diva-Dirt Debut. CM Punk and Lita were once again spotted at another Bouncing Souls in Chicago concert. Only this time, they’re celebrating both Halloween and Punk’s 30th Birthday with a few famous friends in costumes, so much fun!

So we get it: Lita and Punk are friends, they share a lot of similarities and enjoy each others company. Heck, they’re even both dressed as some pretty gnarly Zombies! That’s cool. Not much news there, except… we might have a new Diva on our hands!

I’m sure by now you’ve spotted at least one famous friend, Hornswoggle! That’d be him, front and center, with the insert picture to the right. He looks both cute and insanely creepy; I don’t know if I should laugh or hide the children… if I had some. I’m not sure if he’s supposed to be a Barbie doll or Cindy Lou Who, but it’s friggin’ genius!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but WWE.Com needs to get on top of this, I demand a photoshoot! I’m sure the little lady will blow the rest of these so-called Divas out of the water, Sailors, Warriors and Bananas included!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to muster up enough courage to check under my bed. Yes, definitely leaning towards creepy.

Peanut Butter Jelly Time… on SmackDown!

You kind of had to figure that Team Blue would have their Divas dressed in costumes this week, because duh, Halloween is on Friday! And well, in Victoria‘s latest MySpace blog, she reveals that not only the funniest, but nastiest fruit of them all (Josie cannot stand bananas) will indeed make a cameo:

Seriously! How did I not win the Diva Costume Contest ?! For those of you that watched the WWE Cyber Sunday pay-per-view, I think you’ll agree that I had the best outfit in the history of produce related costumes. Two years in a row I have been robbed. But in all honesty, I had a blast. I dressed up as a banana and sang the “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” Song, and I got paid to do it. I need to be counting my blessings.

BTW, if you are in San Diego for Smackdown, and you hear me singing the “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” Song, you better cheer your lungs out…or be prepared to be Widow’s Peaked by an angry 145 lb banana…

If I had to make a guess, SmackDown will most-likely shadow RAW with a 6-Diva tag match also. Perhaps we’ll be treated to Michelle McCool, Maria, and Brie Bella versus Maryse, Natalya and Victoria. Been there, done that, but costumes and Victoria just make the world a little easier to smile at.

Here’s some food for thought; if you were to dress up as a WWE Diva this year for Halloween, who would it be? Oh, and boys, just for shits and giggles, you can play too!

Systematic Breakdown of Cyber Sunday

14

Cyber Sunday saw the return of the Halloween Costume Contest, proving why I least look forward to this pay per view of all the events on the calendar. No Divas matches, but mindless segments which were more like commercials for softcore porn. “You can sail my boat!”, “I’ll take you to heaven!” Suggestive carrots didn’t help matters either. I thought we were aiming for a PG audience now?

Anyway, this month’s column is kind of hard to write so I’m going to add my opinions on costumes seperately. As for the segments and the catfight, it all just seemed a little sloppy and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at all the shenanigans. While I liked some costumes, this doesn’t make up for a lack of match. The catfight at the end was ridiculous and as you can see from the picture above, why on earth was Mickie  holding Candice? It just looked like a silly routine from a bad comedy double-act. Did anyone else notice Mickie fall over at the end of the segment too? I lol’d. Anyway, it was great to see Mickie pick up the win here, I really thought it would be between her and Kelly and I’m glad it was Mickie over Kelly. What does this prove? That Mickie, no matter how much WWE tries to push Candice and Kelly on us, is still the most popular Diva in WWE today and deservedly so.

Now onto the costumes:

The Good
I thought Beth’s costume really suited her as the Glamazon, it looked great and so did she. Brie Bella‘s Cleopatra costume was perfect for her, she definitely has the right look to pull it off and did so. Eve’s very original and outside-the-box Ninja Turtle costume was a lot of fun to see, I really liked it – it showed personality. Lena Yada looked mighty fierce in her ninja outfit, this was my favourite outfit of the entire night. Who’d have thought it? Lena Yada winning my vote! Mickie pulled off her Tomb Raider outfit very well also, I’m not sure how it compares to Angelina Jolie, but I thought Mickie had the right look to pull off Lara Croft. And last but not least – Victoria! God, is there anything to really say here other than LMFAO!

Best of the Best: Lena Yada as a ninja.

The Bad
Candice’s Marilyn Monroe costume was just so cliched. And dear God woman, a little warning before you try to sing. Kelly Kelly as a sailor hmm, there was nothing fun or original about this costume. It just looked like Kelly Kelly in a slutty sailor outfit trying to look sexy. Layla‘s Princess Leia outfit wasn’t flattering on her, neither were the buns. But I do give Layla points, because she really showed some acting chops in her little segment, I thought it was pretty cool. Maryse‘s French maid costume was again, cliched. It actually doesn’t look too different to something she’d wear in the ring either. Natalya‘s cop costume was just unoriginal. And Tiffany’s skanky nun was offensive to some apparently and just looked tacky and cheap.

Baddest of the Bad: Kelly Kelly as a sailor

The Ugly
Jillian‘s Batgirl just didn’t work for me, it looked odd to say the least. Katie Lea‘s vampire hmm… when I heard she was going to be a vampire I thought it could go one of two ways: a cool sleek vampire or an over the top mess. Unfortunately, Katie went for the latter. It’s nice to know she’s not afraid to fug it up but this is a WWE Divas contest, let us not forget. Just like most Maria outfits, the bunny costume was too over-accessorised with fur flying everywhere. But apparently she made it herself, so go figure. The outfit was cliched also, like so original, Maria. Michelle McCool‘s army costume was just one big ole tranny hot mess! Everything looked like it had just been thrown together, it didn’t look like a costume you could just purchase at Wal-Mart. The coat didn’t even fit her and the tights were kinda skanky and Michelle is not skanky.

Ugliest of the Ugly: Michelle McCool as an army brat.

Brie Hides in Plain Sight

6

Finally, SmackDown’s newest Diva Brie Bella has her own WWE.com photoshoot! Entitled “Radiant Red”, it’s a bit different from regular shoots. For one, she’s wearing a full-length skirt, and I think those are so few and far between in the WWE, they might as well be extinct. I think it’s a little too “salsa dancer” for my taste, as are the shoes. The top, however, is cute. If it were longer and covered her stomach, I’d love it. Overall, it sort of looks like she’s wearing a costume – so many ruffles – but it’s impressive for her first go-round. I do have one question though – is it just Brie in this shoot, or is Nicole somwhere in there too? I’m too lazy to investigate, but I’m sure if one were to look close enough, they could tell. As a twin myself, I know that twins never look *exactly* alike, and the notion that they do kind of bugs me. Maybe that’s why I’m rooting for the “switcheroo” game to be over..

Perfect 10: Week of October 20th

4

The Perfect 10 returns! The premise is simple: We will rank the ten Divas or Knockouts who we think have had the best week of television, similar to WWE.com’s Power 25. Who will make the grade and who will fall short? It’s all new and exclusive only at Diva Dirt!

WEEK OF OCTOBER 13th – OCTOBER 19th, 2008

10. Michelle McCool (Last Week: #10)
Staying put at 10 is Michelle McCool, the Divas Champion. Michelle had a tough week this week, dealing with her partner (and #1 Contender) Maria who cost the pair a match on SmackDown.

Erin: Well, that obviously plants the seeds for a feud, which is great for Michelle, as far as I’m concerned. If she were to lose a bit of her babyface image, it would help her tremendously. Besides, since it wasn’t really her fault she lost, it’s not like it was a devastating loss anyways.
Melanie: I hope she doesn’t turn heel, but it looks as though she’s gonna be pushed a bit further in the character department. She came across pretty well this week compared to last week’s robotic acting.

• • • • • • • •

09. Maria (Last Week: #7)
Down two spots is Maria, who seemed to be caught up in a triangle with Michelle McCool and Festus. A week from her big win, Maria goes back to her losing ways.

Erin: It looks like she may be getting an actual storyline, so that alone makes this a step up from the previous weeks since her SmackDown debut. Whether or not this leads to a Divas Championship reign is beyond me..
Melanie: I have a feeling this match will take place at Survivor Series, it’s not my first choice but if they keep building this up as they have done, it could actually be a good match.

• • • • • • • •

08. Natalya (New Entry)
Natalya is a brand new entry this week, the Diva picked up a huge tag team win though she didn’t do much.

Erin: I really wish she had more to do, but with Maryse as the top heel and the Divas Championship being contested between two babyfaces, there’s not much available.
Melanie: Natalya is probably the most underutilised Diva in history, so much potential *sigh*

• • • • • • • •

07. Candice (New Entry)
Candice scored a big tag team win too, bringing her back to the Perfect 10 in a new spot at #7.

Erin: It’s not on the same level as a feud with Beth, but a win’s a win. We’ll see if she was merely a place-holder tag team partner for Kelly or if she’s really back on Raw for good.
Melanie: I don’t think Candice is Raw’s top Diva priority anymore.

• • • • • • • •

06. Christy Hemme (New Entry)
Another new entry is Christy Hemme who makes her Perfect 10 debut at a sizable #6. Christy is trying to be a serious wrestler now apparently and a win over Velvet Sky on a live edition of Impact helped.

Erin: Well, this ought to be interesting. I haven’t seen her wrestle in a longggg time. Maybe this feud with the Beautiful People can bring more out of her than screaming and grimacing.
Melanie: I think it’s really interesting that four years later, Christy’s finally being primed for a wrestling role while her Diva Search counterparts such as Michelle McCool and Candice are already former and current champions.

Cyber Sunday: Vote For Your Favourite

15

The so-called WWE Universe had their say last night, now it’s time for our Diva Dirt readers to voice their opinion! Who do you think should have won last night’s Halloween Costume Contest?

Take a look at all of the costumes in one monumental gallery and then vote for your favorite below:

[poll id=”207″]

Cyber Sunday Discussion & Tip Sheet

126

Discuss tonight’s Cyber Sunday pay per view in this post as it happens! In a Halloween Costume Contest, all of the WWE Divas will be vying for your votes!

Discuss your favourite outfits, who you’re voting for and more!

The Tip Sheet
Erin: So last year, Mickie James won the contest even though her costume was about as creative as the ones you can find at Wal-Mart. This tells me that the fans don’t really care who wears what – it’ll be a popularity contest, plain and simple. The question is, then, who is the most popular at the moment? I’m willing to bet on Mickie, even though she’s not really in the spotlight at the moment. I’m sure she’ll come up with something cutesy, but not really worthy of winning. She’ll still win, though. Hopefully the rest will pick up the slack, creativity-wise.
Josie: I tend to believe that if anything is left for the fans to decide (and it’s legit, not WWE rigged), it’s quantity over quality. It doesn’t really matter who or what the best costume is, because ultimately, it’s a popularity contest. If the fans like you and you have a great following, they’ll usually come through for you. You can have a big flop, but the support group will be there. That said, I can’t help but to think Mickie James will pull out another victory. She’s very over with the general WWE universe. If anyone were to pull an upset, though, my money is on Kelly Kelly.
Melanie: I think regardless of the fan vote, Kelly has this one locked down. WWE is pushing her and I think this will be an avenue to do so. The only other Diva I see coming close to her in votes is Mickie James. Those are the two front runners, if you ask me. Mickie still proves to be immensely popular with the fans, but WWE can and does rig the votes for the Cyber Sunday pay per view and I expect this one will fall in Kelly’s favour.

Katie Lea’s Advice For HBK

8

Those Superstars, err, I mean “Entertainers” sure are getting snappy these days! And by snappy I mean bitchy. Even for kayfabe, the comments seem to get more below the belt by the day! From John Morrison’s aim at Candice, Shad Gaspard’s MySpace blast on Miz & Morrison and for the latest in-fight? Katie Lea turns her attention to legend, Shawn Michaels. Something tells me that’s not too wise a choice…

The second choice, the ‘Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels, isn’t much better… Seriously, do they still call him ‘Kid’…? Nevertheless, I will admit that it ‘Breaks my Heart’ (see how that works..?) that he still needs to be lurking around; and more than anything I’m tired of the moping and the constant boo-boo face… So let me address this little problem here directly: Shawn, please, please, please, for the love of God (no offense intended…) find your bloody smile already!! We know you’re miserable. You’ve been miserable for a while now. It’s time to get over it and move on.

Bitchy as it may be, it’s not far from the truth…

Former WWE Diva, Former Playboy Model, Former… Stripper?

10

Remember me? I’m the one who made an official blog debut about two weeks ago, before fading into oblivion. Long story short, mid-terms will do you in. I’m slowly inching my way back into the cyber world, so hopefully you’ll see more of my posts on a daily basis. As for this topic, new or old, it’s definitely news to me. Perhaps for you, too?

Moving along, don’t you just adore the accompanying picture? Christy Hemme is a character, in and out of the ring. She’s got a red hot personality, and the hair to prove it! However, the usually optimistic Knockout has had a photo surface online that could very well give Kelly Kelly a run for her reputation as an extreme exhibitionist. Christy Hemme, Stripper. Could it be?

It isn’t exactly far fetched to have female personalities in the world of wrestling with pole dancing experiences; Lita put herself through wrestling school as a part-time stripper right by a Chinese restaurant, WCW’s Gorgeous George was a notorious stripper, before, during, and after her wrestling stint, and then there’s just a whole roster of ladies that have dabbled into both soft and hardcore porn, pole included.

But it begs the question: does that make them a slut? What is a slut in your opinion? Someone who exposes themselves on live television, via The Kat. Someone who literally spreads their legs in a mere ring entrance, via Melina. What about our Playboy cover girls, Sable, Chyna, Torrie, Christy, Ashley and Maria? Then we have controversial Divas such as Michelle McCool and her relations with the living-dead, Lita with her relations between Matt Hardy and Edge, and finally, Mickie James with her infamous photo’spread’ that just takes her reputation to a whole new level… and the way we look at Arby’s.

It just goes to show, there’s hardly anything left to shock fans of both Divas and Knockouts. For the most part, in merely every situation, it’s a been there, done that scenario. For every lady that makes a headline these days, there’s someone that has already blazed that path.

Moving back to Christy; in her defense, this photo could have been taken during her stint with her former dance team, Purrfect Angels. But as a former Playboy cover model and a featured starlet in Girls Gone Wild, anything is possible with Ms. Hemme. There isn’t much you can’t put past her. After all, she did name her finisher ‘Firecrotch’, and Lindsay Lohan, the queen of shock value herself and to whom this nickname was originally bestowed upon, would be oh-so proud!

Going Costume Shopping for Cyber Sunday

21

With Cyber Sunday Halloween Costume Contest set to go down this Sunday, I felt inspired to assign costumes to each participating Diva. Although several Divas have already shared what their costume will be, I’ve gone ahead and came up with my own ideas, making sure to avoid the more cliche and skanky costumes. I mean, I don’t know how many times you can see a sexy nurse before losing your mind. Without further adieu, take a look at the costume options below and cast a vote for your favorite! BETH PHOENIX – SHE-HULK

Women’s Champ Beth Phoenix is known for her brute strength and intimidating demeanor, so it’s easy to picture the Glamazon as She-Hulk, lawyer-by-day cousin to the famous Jade Giant. Like She-Hulk, Beth is statuesque and beautiful, and could totally kick some evil-doer ass. She’s also got the sass to match. Just paint Beth green and boom – you’ve got it!

BRIE BELLA – MASQUERADE COUNTESS

Brie Bella, or is it Nicole Bella? Whoever it is, she’s constantly playing switcheroo, ducking under the ring at a moment’s notice to switch places with her twin. With the mysterious thought in mind, Brie could dress as a Masquerade Countess, brandishing a mask as her “disguise” and giving a new meaning to hiding your true identity.

Awesome Kong Regains Knockouts Championship

18

On a live edition of Impact last night, Awesome Kong defeated Taylor Wilde to become the TNA Knockouts Champion for a second time. Kong now becomes the title’s first ever two-time holder.

In other action, Christy Hemme defeated Velvet Sky of the Beautiful People in singles action.

Your Take: What do you think of Kong regaining the title? Happy or not? Let us know in the comments!

“Superstar” is to “Entertainer” as “Diva” is to…

10

The WWE recently made a move to change their “Superstars” moniker to “Entertainers”, reportedly in an effort to move away from the image of an organized sport and towards a “traveling entertainment” image. While it’s doubtful that the WWE will match up to a traveling theater troupe (maybe a traveling circus is more comparable), it makes for an interesting change. The WWE’s wrestlers have been dubbed Superstars for a long time now, so it will be a bit of an adjustment to refer to them differently.

A question sprung to my mind while reading the news, however: What if the Divas were forced to change their moniker? That’s not happening, clearly, but what if it did? What would you want to be their new name? Here’s a few options I thought of on the fly:

• Ladies (very old school, but I kind of like that)
• Bombshells (kind of cliche)
• Sirens (cliche, again.. and sounds sort of seedy now that I think about it)

What about you guys – what do you think would be a fitting moniker for the ladies of the WWE? Would it be something in the vain of TNA’s “Knockouts” or would you go in a completely different direction? In that same thought, is “Divas” better than TNA’s “Knockouts”, or vice versa? Put on your thinking caps and sound off in the comments!
