Nicole Savoy is nearing a record two years as the SHIMMER Champion. She defeated Mercedes Martinez in November 2017 just one day shy from Martinez holding the title for one year. Savoy is guaranteed to make history with the promotion as she will be defeating the longest reigning champion –MsChif.
MsChif, who was the second champion in 2008, held the title for 715-days. As of this writing, Savoy is at 682-days. It was reported on SHIMMER’s Twitter account that their next event will take place on Nov. 2.
Here's a look at the stats for the SHIMMER Championship's existence over the past 12 years. Since Nicole Savoy's next defense will take place during the SHIMMER 114-117 weekend (Nov. 2 & 3), she will end up with the longest single reign thus far. pic.twitter.com/AYtvVn3iIb

Savoy was recently a participant in the Casino Battle Royale at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. She was eliminated from that match by the eventual winner, Nyla Rose. She also appeared in the first Mae Young Classic Tournament. She made it to the second round before being eliminated by Candice LeRae.
For the next SHIMMER event, it has already been confirmed that Savoy will be teaming up with Big Swole to take on the SHIMMER Tag Team Champions – Cheerleader Melissa and Mercedes Martinez – for the tag titles.
