It was announced on NXT 2.0 on May 24 that Nikkita Lyons was injured. As a result, she was removed from the Women’s Breakout Tournament in which she made it to the semi-finals. She was replaced by Tiffany Stratton who would defeat Fallon Henley to advance to the finals.
At the time of the announcement by NXT, the nature of the injury was not confirmed.
Lyons took to her social media today to confirm that she is indeed injured and has a partial tear on her MCL, “just a sprain, it could have been worse.” She says she does not require surgery and she has already started rehabbing. She states it was a freak accident. Her last match was in the quarter-finals of the Breakout Tournament against Arianna Grace.
She says her goal is to come back better than before. Lyons was on a winning streak. She had only lost her debut match in December but has won her last seven matches, six being singles matches.
