On this week’s episode of NXT UK, a huge number one contenders match for NXT UK Women’s Championship was announced. The match between Jinny and Piper Niven will take in three weeks time on Jan, 7.
Jinny and Niven have been on a collision course ever since the “Fashionista” cost Niven a chance at the title last month. On Nov, 19, Niven challenge Kay Lee Ray for the NXT UK Women’s Championship in a brutal falls count anywhere match.
KLR and Niven have been intertwined in a heated and bitter rivalry throughout their careers. The match saw the two Scottish warriors beat and battered each other all over the BT Studios.
Jinny would interfere by striking Niven with a steel chair allowing KLR to get the victory in a ruthless affair.
In the following weeks, Niven sought revenge on Jinny and attacked her backstage. Jinny would retaliate by calling a Niven a “wild animal”. This back-and-forth led to the match announcement, which will decide KLR’s next challenger.
Speaking of the champ, she returned to the show this week to face Isla Dawn in a non-title match. The bout was a strong and entertaining encounter with Dawn getting the better of KLR on several occasions. But the “Scary Queen of Scots” overcame the offence and hit a Gory Driver for the win.
After the match, Lee Ray stated that she plans to hold onto the title for a very long time.
