Tonight at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Sasha Banks defends the NXT Women’s Title against Bayley. Will we see a fourth Women’s Champion? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:
Chris: This quite frankly Ladies and Gentlemen, should be the main event. I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a match on a PPV/Live Special… Oh wait, yes I can. The last time NXT had a live special. Both of these ladies journeys have been incredible to watch over the last two years, and in my opinion this will be their shining moment, sure they’ve faced off probably 100 times over the years, but never in front of 13,000 people in the biggest event in NXT history. Although the result is pretty obvious to most of us, I’m still excited for what I believe will be one of the more emotional moments in recent history. I predict Bayley walks out of Brooklyn the NXT Women’s Champion.
Cryssi: I don’t pretend to sit around and say that I watch NXT on a consistent basis. I don’t. But I am excited for this match for a number of reasons. Sasha is absolutely everything; her star is so bright. I can’t wait to see what her future holds on the main roster. Bayley has done her time in NXT. She’s had countless matches and storylines, and plays the underdog role so well. I think tonight it would be played as a huge upset for Bayley to get the win tonight and it could rattle Sasha’s confidence going into SummerSlam tomorrow for the biggest match of her career so far. I expect to see Bayley win the match tonight for sure.
Erin: I think I’m on the same page as most Diva fans when I say that, unless a swerve happens, Bayley’s walking out with the belt. The outcome may be predictable as hell, but that doesn’t seem to have damped people’s excitement for it. Part of it is because Diva TakeOver matches have a reputation for greatness, sure, but I also think Bayley’s likability plays into it too. She’s worked so hard to get here, and the fans are eager to see her finally reach the top of the mountain. Bayley wins, but Sasha isn’t going to let that title go easily.
Jack: I feel like a broken record when it comes to Bayley in title matches as every time she has been in one, I’ve been convinced of a title change. However, now with Sasha on the main roster and the booking build up Baylz in impressive fashion, Saturday in Brooklyn has to be her night. Bayley wins.
Josue: Bayley‘s time has come! Sasha has really found her place since being called up to the main roster as the star of Team B.A.D and although she is still referred to as the NXT Women’s Champion, seeing her on Raw/Smackdown without the title leaves an impression that she is fully ready to graduate from NXT. With Bayley being the last of four horse women still on NXT on a full time basis, it only makes sense for her to win the title from Sasha and start her reign against the next generation of women in NXT.
BREAKDOWN: 5 for Bayley, 0 for Sasha.
