The next NXT TakeOver event is rapidly approaching and now it has a name. On Feb. 14 we will witness NXT Vengeance Day. The event had already been announced but there was no name associated with it.
There is one official match scheduled for the event which will be a huge Triple Threat for the NXT Women’s Title. We will see the champion, Io Shirai face off against both Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez. Both challengers have been chomping at the bit to get their hand on the gold for a number of weeks now. Storm has staked claim to it ever since her move to the U.S. brand prior to WarGames.
Storm and Martinez failed to pass the first round of the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament as a result of Shirai’s interference. Speaking of the tournament, the finals are expected to happen as well at this TakeOver event.
The semi-finals kick off on tonight’s episode of NXT as Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro face Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez.
