Tonight at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, Sasha Banks defends the NXT Women’s Title against Becky Lynch. Will The Boss lose the belt? The Diva Dirt team weighs in:
Chris: This one I’m super excited for! Although some questioned the Becky Lynch face turn I really enjoyed the contract signing segment and these two always deliver, especially on the live specials. I expect a great match between these two, but there’s no way Sasha Banks isn’t walking out without the win.
Erin: With the two lengthy Women’s Title reigns that preceded hers, I can’t see Sasha dropping the belt just yet. She’s getting into her groove as champion, and I think it would be a mistake to take the title off of her now. Becky is definitely coming into her own, but I think this match will serve to get solidify her spot as one of NXT’s top Divas rather than making her the Diva. She really needed this kind of focus to be seen as a legitimate threat, and a fantastic match with Sasha, even if it’s a losing effort, will go a long way towards making her a true star. Sasha Banks to retain.
Jack: I’ve enjoyed Becky Lynch and her ‘Lass Kicking’ self since she won the chance to face Sasha yet I don’t see her winning tonight. Sasha Banks should retain and then go on to lose to Bayley at the next NXT special. Banksy has this one in the bag!
Jake: This Women’s Title match is definitely going to be memorable. Sasha and Becky have both been at the top of their game but I’m not sure Becky is ready to hold the gold just yet. I believe Sasha Banks will retain her title by making Becky tap out after a second or third Banks Statement. This is Becky’s opportunity to really show the crowd what she can do and solidify herself as a top NXT Diva after Charlotte‘s inevitable departure.
Josue: Tonight is a big night for Becky Lynch and what an opportunity she is receiving to help elevate her career even further. I loved the small video package of Becky we’ve seen a few weeks ago leading up to this title match; you can see there has been such a growth from Becky managing to stand up to her former pal The Boss, who was equally entertaining the night of the contract signing. One day will come for Becky to hold the NXT Women’s title but for now I see Sasha Banks retaining her championship and maintaining her position as NXT’s top woman.
