Could NXT be getting a championship title for their women’s division soon?
Fans at WrestleMania Axxess in East Rutherford, NJ have reported seeing an NXT Women’s Championship (note the sign calling it ‘Women’s’ not ‘Divas’!) on display amongst the other official WWE produced title belts.
Prior to Florida Championship Wrestling being re-branded as NXT Wrestling last year, they had two titles for the Divas to compete for: the Queen of FCW (its last title holder was Raquel Diaz) and the FCW Divas Championship (its last title holder was Caylee Turner). WWE Diva AJ Lee is a previous holder of both.
NXT currently features two different titles on their program: the NXT Championship, introduced July 2012, and the NXT Tag Team Championship, introduced January 2013.
Given how much their women’s division has expanded as of late, this is very unsurprising and exciting news!
