Just one week from Saturday, TNA is heading towards Slammiversary but with a few more surprises in store for us along the way.
To open the show, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace issued an open challenge for her title last week. She is scheduled to face Ash by Elegance heading into Slammiversary. But tonight, the champion looks to prove herself in this bout and her surprise challenger is none other than WWE NXT’s Izzi Dame.
Before the match can even get started, George Iceman interrupts another Knockouts Championship match and announces that Ash is watching via satellite in The Bahamas.
The match gets started and Dame attempts to wrestle around Grace, but can’t seem to outmatch her power. Dame is significantly taller than Grace and attempts to use that to her advantage.
Dame unfortunately gets dumped outside the ring, but Grace can’t keep her eyes off of Iceman. But, seemingly Rosemary has eyes for Iceman and sends him running towards the back. This distraction allows Dame to take back control.
Grace tries to come back and roughens up Dame just enough to hit the Juggernaut Driver and retain her title.
Next, we see Steph De Lander on the beach reflecting on her love life and her storied history with PCO. SDL says she has some loose ends to tie up back in Australia, but promises she’ll take care of that business and asks if PCO will wait for her.
In more Knockouts action, we see Tasha Steelz take on a more reinvigorated Gisele Shaw. Before Shaw can finish her entrance, Steelz takes her out and steals her spotlight.
Shaw is at a disadvantage and tries to fight back as Steelz continues the assault on her. The two start to trade forearms and Shaw is able to stand on her two feet and hit the Shock and Awe. Shaw finds another opening and hits the Denoument Knee for the win.
Xia Brookside is backstage watching the match and says that she wants to take on one-half of the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions Alisha Edwards next week after getting involved in her match with Masha Slamovich. She is then asked about the status of SDL and believes that “true love conquers all.”
