It appears NXT Superstar, Tegan Nox, is healing nicely from the major knee surgery she suffered last August. She posted a gif on her Twitter page earlier today alluding to making great progress in her rehabilitation.
The Welsh wrestler experienced a horrific knee injury last August when taping an episode for the quarterfinals of the Mae Young Classic. Nox was wrestling Rhea Ripley when her knee went out and she was unable to continue the match. The injury occurred when she landed wrong after a suicide dive to the outside of the ring.
On Twitter, Nox said, “I tried to carry on as far as I could but a few minutes later after trying to push through the pain and finish the match, it all got too much and the match was stopped. Being greeted backstage by the distraught faces of my friends and coaches was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever experienced and it hurt more than the injury itself.”
The 23-year-old said her knee basically “exploded” during the match. She tore her ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus, among other injuries. After the injury, she went straight to the surgeon and had a successful surgery to repair the damage on her injured knee, as well as some repair on her other knee.
After the completion of the Mae Young Classic, it was reported that Nox was scheduled to have been in the finals of the women’s tournament, which made the injury even more heartbreaking.
This isn’t the first time injury has plagued Nox. She was supposed to be a contender in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, but had to be replaced due to an ACL tear in her other knee.
It is still unclear when Nox will make her in-ring return, but it sounds like she is making progress. She has a huge following and once she does return, she should be a fan favorite in NXT.
Keep checking back for updates on Nox’s return to the ring.
