On ROH TV over the weekend, the first of two Three-way ROH Women’s Title Contenders matches took place. After what happened on last week’s ROH TV, six women are vying to get a chance at the ROH Women’s Championship after they interrupted current champion Rok-C during her speech.
Board of Directors Maria Kanellis Bennett would make the decision to have two Three-way matches to start and the winner of those two matches will face in a one-on-one number one contenders match. The winner will face Rok-C at Final Battle.
The first match was between Angelina Love, Willow, and Miranda Alize. Love is no stranger to gold herself and Alize was in the finals that Rok-C won to become champion. Willow can be considered one of the breakout stars of the year and has been making a name for herself in several different promotions.
Match time: 8:32 via pinfall
Willow continues to shine as she pulled out the win in this match. After Love delivered a crossbody to both of her competitors on the outside, she rolled Willow back in the ring for a near fall. Alize attempted to climb back in but Love knocked her off the ring apron. This allowed Willow to stack up Love and get the victory.
Willow will be facing the winner of the second Three-way between Allysin Kay, Trish Adora, and Mandy Leon. The winner of that encounter will be next to face Rok-C.
Rok-C has already defended her title outside of ROH TV. She defeated Killer Kelly and will be taking on Laynie Luck at Warrior Wrestling on Oct. 16.
