Trish Stratus Turns Heel, NEW Women’s Tag Team Champs Crowned

We have new tag team champions in the women’s division as Liv Morgan pinned WWE hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez become tag team champions on the April 10 episode of Raw.

For those that missed it, they may be wondering why it was Stratus that was in the match. Earlier in the night, Lita who was tag champs with Becky Lynch, was attacked backstage. Morgan and Rodriguez were screaming for help and swore they were not the ones that attacked her. Lynch and Stratus would show up shortly later as they had suspicions of Morgan and Rodriguez.

As the schedule tag team title match was set to take place, Lynch confirmed it would be Stratus to fill in for Lita. She stated that Lita was sent to a local medical facility. Everything leading up to the match didn’t bode too well for The Man.

The final moments of the match had Stratus tag in. She went for the Chick Kick but Morgan caught her and rolled her up to get the victory. Morgan and Rodriguez would quickly celebrate as they left the ring and went up the ramp.

Still inside the ring, Lynch helped up Stratus and the two would share words and embrace. The second that Lynch turned her back, Startus turned heel and attacked her from behind. She followed up with a Chick Kick which Lynch sold perfectly.

Moments later, Byron Saxton was backstage trying to get to the bottom of what Stratus did to Lynch. However, Stratus ignored him and kept walking.

IYO SKY Earns Number One Contender Spot For Raw Women’s Title

Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY is the new number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.

On the April 10 episode of Raw, SKY won a Triple Threat match against Michin Mia Yim and Piper Niven.

The final moments of the match had Michin hit an Eat Defeat but it would be SKY who climbed to the top and hit the Over the Moonsault on top of both Michin and Niven. She pinned Michin for the win.

Before this Triple Threat took place, it was originally Bayley in the match instead of SKY. Bayley was talking with Adam Pearce in his office and joined SKY and Dakota Kai outside the office. Baykey said Pearce was more focused on the upcoming draft and she stressed how important it was that Damage CTRL need to stay together.

When Bayley said she would originally be in the Triple Threat, SKY got upset and as she was speaking in Japanese, Kai would state that it should be one of them getting the opportunity. Bayley went back in and got it for SKY.

Raw Discussion Post: 04.10.23

Hopefully tonight’s Raw goes way better than last weeks fiasco. For what it is worth, Vince McMahon is reportedly not present at tonight’s show in Seattle.

Officially scheduled is a Women’s Tag Team Titles match where the champs Becky Lynch and Lita will be challenged by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Morgan and Rodriguez defeated Damage CTRL last week to become number one contenders.

It is being rumored but not confirmed by WWE yet that Bianca Belair will be taking on IYO SKY.

It is being reported that Bayley will be present for the show.

Latest On Bayley’s Status Since WrestleMania

0

There has been a lot of speculation and anticipation since WrestleMania when it comes to Bayley.

First, Bayley posted to following on Twitter after her loss at WrestleMania alongside fellow Damage CTRL members Dakota Kai & IYO SKY. They were defeated by tag team champions Lita & Becky Lynch along with Trish Stratus.

“And sometimes the most romantic love story comes to an end. Bye”

Speculation continued after that social media post when Bayley was cut from joining Damage CTRL at ringside on the April 3 episode of Raw. Kai and SKY took on Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan in a number one contender match in a losing effort.

Bayley wasn’t the only woman cut from the show. There was planned for two women’s Triple Threat matches which changed to this tag twam number one contender bout. However, it did seem odd that Bayley was cut to merely join her fellow stablemates at ringside. Furthermore, following the highly fan disapproval of the episode along with Vince McMahon allegedly rewriting the show minutes before…it had many fans concerned.

In a recent report by PWInsider, in regards to speculation, “there is no expectation” of Bayley leaving the company. The report adds that there are no signs of Bayley being “unhappy” or that “her creative is being dropped.” It is common for Bayley to stay in character on social media.

After the match, a new challenge emerged – Mayu Iwatani. Iwatani faced KAIRI in main event of Historic X-Over to crown the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion. KAIRI won that match to become the first champion. Iwatani is only one of two Grand Slam Champions for STARDOM. Io Shirai (IYO SKY) being the other.

Moné and Iwatani will face off on April 23 at All Star Grand Queendom.

Morgan & Rodriguez Gain Momentum; WWE Draft Coming Soon

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez have a huge match coming up on the April 10 episode of Raw. They will be taking on Lita and Becky Lynch for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. But before we get there, they were in action on the April 7 episode of SmackDown.

The number one contenders took on Natalya and Shotzi. The final moments of the match saw Morgan landing a Tornado DDT followed up by ObLIVion for the pin and the victory for her and Rodriguez.

The new SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley took to the ring with the rest of Judgment Day. She bragged about her championship win at Mania. This led to a match between the men of LWO and Judgment Day. With Ripley and Zelina Vega at ringside they did collide. When Ripley got involved in the match to save Dominik form a 619 by his father – Vega landed a hurricanrana on Ripley. Ripley then chased down Vega.

Despite prior news of talent not hearing about an upcoming draft, Triple H took to the ring and confirmed one is coming. It will be taking place in a few weeks and he stated that all talent is eligible.

Latest On WWE Draft – Is It Taking Place?

0

It was previously reported that a WWE Draft was set to happen late last year, but that never ended up taking place. If it were to have panned it, a draft would have reset the rosters during Triple H’s regime for the first time. However, talent was told that the draft would be moved to 2023 but were not indicated on when. Some assumed it would take place right after WrestleMania as it has done so in past years.

According to a new report by Fightful Select, they can confirm after speaking to over a dozen talent that unanimously have said that they have not been told that a WWE Draft is coming – or when it could even be.

As of Friday afternoon, talent still haven’t been told about any plans for a draft. In the past, sources for both Fox and USA Network wanted primarily distinctly different and separate rosters in order to specialize their investment. Since Triple H took over creative there has been less of that.

Without a draft taking place last year and one this year not being talked about, the last one to take place was in 2021.

Knockouts Tag Team Title Rematch Set For IMPACT Rebellion

This week’s IMPACT Wrestling featured the in-ring debut of Jody Threat. It was the only Knockouts bout of the night, but the Canadian wrestler showed off her hard-hitting style against Tara Rising. In the end, Threat hit her own version of an F5 to secure the victory.

Later, Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly found themselves mixed up in Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray’s business when a big brawl broke out. This seemed to indicate Kelly will join Team Dreamer and Slamovich will join Team Bully for the Hardcore War at Rebellion, but that has not been officially confirmed.

Additionally, Alisha Edwards returned to storylines as she turned heel and helped Eddie beat PCO.

It is now confirmed that Jessicka and Rosemary will receive their Knockouts World Tag Team Championship rematch against The Coven on April 16 at the Rebellion pay-per-view. Before that happens, though, Jessicka will face Taylor Wilde on next week’s IMPACT.

Next week’s go-home show will also feature Tasha Steelz vs. Gisele Shaw after the two had a backstage confrontation on Thursday. Shaw believes Steelz has bitten off more than she can chew, but the former world champ is ready to get back in the ring.

We will also hear the final status update on Mickie James next Thursday just days before she potentially defends or relinquishes her Knockouts title at Rebellion. Meanwhile, we did hear from Deonna Purrazzo in a vignette as she declared she’s ready to become a three-time champion.

Jamie Hayter Retains On AEW Dynamite; TBS Title Match Set For Battle Of The Belts

This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a thrilling women’s match as Jamie Hayter defended her AEW World Women’s Championship against Riho. It marked their third singles match in AEW, and they held nothing back.

Clashing a half hour into the show, Hayter and Riho shook hands before Hayter attempted a Hayterade out the gate. When the action spilled out of the ring, Riho was slammed onto the apron before the break.

Riho came back with a flying crossbody from the top followed by a snap German suplex. Hayter attempted to keep Riho grounded, but the challenger countered with a devastating running knees for a nearfall. Riho dodged Hayterade but then turned around into it connecting for another nearfall. Hayter pulled her up and sent her back down with another Hayterade to seal the deal in a bout that ran over 12 minutes.

Afterward, Renee Paquette interviewed The Outcasts backstage. Ruby Soho said they’re here to regain control of the women’s division, and that will happen by one of them becoming champion. Saraya said they’ll figure out who that is at some point, while Toni Storm added that all that matters is Hayter gets dethroned.

AEW will present live episodes of Rampage and Battle of the Belts this Friday. On Rampage, Anna Jay will go one-on-one with Julia Hart, plus Jade Cargill sits down with Taya Valkyrie. Later on Battle of the Belts, Cargill will defend her TBS Championship against Billie Starkz for the first time.

Vickie Guerrero’s Daughter, Sherilyn, Alleges Sexual Assault From Stepfather

0

Vickie Guerrero’s youngest daughter, Sherilyn, has come forward with allegations when it comes to her stepfather (Vickie’s husband). Sherilyn, who is also the daughter of the late Eddie Guerrero, took to her TikTok on April 4 with an emotional claim against her stepfather Kris Benson.

@bbguerrerooo

I have waited so long and tried my hardest to put it all behind me but its time i start MY healing journey. Im done being silent, its not helping my mental health. I could never fit this into 3 minutes anyways so i feel the fact im allowed 10 minutes, well its the best way i can sum up everything. Please respect my family & i want nothing but love for them…. I am done being silent though while they go on not worried about me, its time i worry about myself ??

? original sound – Sherilyn Guerrero

“Come 2020, right before COVID, there was a cruise that my family went on and basically on this cruise, I got sexually assaulted. The unfortunate part is that it was my stepdad. Yeah, it was my stepdad. Was I the only one? No, but that’s not my business to put their story out there, but it happened to me.”

Sherilyn adds that she spoke to her mother in regards to the sexual assault but Vickie stated that it was a “mistake” and that is “not who he is.” Since telling Vickie, Sherilyn states she has had her number blocked and hasn’t been speaking to her.

Vickie has since released her response to the allegations. She calls her daughter manic and says she is a narcissist. Guerrero also accused Sherilyn of being drunk on the cruise she claimed she was assaulted on. And also states that she has not once spoken to Kris once about this.

Vickie adds she will see her daughter in court.

Vickie has since deleted the post.

Beyond hearing both what Sherilyn and then what Vickie had to say, Chavo Guererro Jr. says he has been helping his cousin through all of this.

Vickie is currently signed with AEW but has recently stated that she will not be renewing her contract. Her contract is up in July. During her time with AEW she has mostly played the manager of Nyla Rose.

Update

Vickie’s other daughter Shaul Guerrero posted about the incident as well. She admits that Sherilyn was sexually assaulted but further stated that her sister will not try to mend fences and actively go to therapy.

Indi Hartwell Retains NXT Women’s Title; Cora Jade Returns

0

On April 4, NXT had its Stand & Deliver fall out episode. Things kicked off big with the new NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell heading to the ring to open the show. Hartwell was greeted by a huge “you deserve it chant” before explaining she waited so long to hear that and thought she never might.

Continuing to soak up her moment, Hartwell gave praise to the other five women in the ladder match. She singled out Roxanne Perez and seeing as she is the former champion, Hartwell wanted to give her first dibs at a match. However, it wouldn’t be Perez’s music that hit as Zoey Stark made her way to the ring.

Stark spent plenty of time belittling Hartwell before challenging her to a title match later in the show. A challenge Hartwell accepted.

The match would take place later in the night and saw Hartwell retain. Stark almost had the match won after hitting a massive Z360, but Hartwell rolled out of the ring. Back in, Stark went for the pin but the champ would kick out and get the pin herself.

Post match, two new challengers arose. Tiffany Stratton made her way out to the ramp while exchange glances at Hartwell – Cora Jade returned! Jade jumped Hartwell from behind before making her way to the back. She exchanged words with Stratton letting her know she would become the next champion.

A bit later, Jade was leaving the arena as Lyra Valkyria approached her and told her she isn’t here to dwell on the past. However, for the future, Cora can’t escape her fate.

A second women’s match on the show had Ivy Nile taking on Tatum Paxley in a personal match. Paxley turned on her former tag team partner a number of weeks ago. Unfortunately for Paxley, she couldn’t pick up the win here as Nile was victorious.

A promo aired for the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. While celebrating their victory they confirmed they didn’t officially scorch the earth but they sent a warning to any other tag team who dares come in their way.

As for the former tag champions, Fallon Henley finally let it slip out that Kiana James was talking to Sebastian. James admitted it but told Brooks they weren’t exclusive so her talking to someone else wasn’t a big deal. Now she feels that once they kissed she feels different but at the same time Brooks let her down. He did not trust her during the tag title match and now James doesn’t have gold around her waist.

Lastly, a vignette was shown that Dani Palmer was coming soon.

NXT Discussion Post: 04.04.23

After last night’s abysmal Raw, we can get back on track with NXT.

We are here for the fall out from Stand & Deliver. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn are new tag team champs after defeating Kiana James and Fallon Henley. And more surprising was Indi Hartwell who won the NXT Women’s Title in a six woman ladder match. This put an end to Roxanne Perez’s reign.

As always, feel free to talk in the comments below.

Charlotte Flair Reportedly Asks For Leave Of Absence From WWE

0

Charlotte Flair had arguably the best match over WrestleMania weekend in her loss against Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Flair gave it everything she had in the ring but wasn’t able to avoid Ripley’s dominance in the end.

A report that is coming out by PWInsider is stating what may be next for Flair. A leave of absence. Flair notified the company over the weekend of wanting to take time off. It was noted that the decision to have Ripley win the title was made before Flair asked for time off and she is not expected to appear on this Friday’s SmackDown.

The report added that she was telling those backstage that she and her husband, Andrade, were going to travel. There was also speculation on Flair wanting to compete in a bodybuilding competition this summer. She spoke on this before WrestleMania with ESPN.

It is not known how long this hiatus would be for. Flair just returned in late December after taking time off to get married and handle other personal matters for the back half of 2022.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match Set For April 10 Raw

On the Raw after WrestleMania episode on April 3, new number one contenders were declared for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated the team of Damage CTRL to earn a title opportunity. They will face the champions of Lita and Becky Lynch next Monday.

Here is what the tag champs say about their new opponents –

This was the only women’s match of the show after it has been reported that two other women’s matches were cut and this one was created instead. It was originally going to be a tourney to determine the number one contender of the Raw Women’s Title. It was two Triple Threats between Candice LeRae vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. IYO SKY and one that was supposed to be between Liv Morgan vs. Dakota Kai vs. Piper Niven.

Bayley was also cut from joining Damage CTRL at ringside for unknown reasons.

There was a segment between Bianca Belair and the new SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. After Belair successfully retained against Auska, Ripley let her know that she is lucky she chose Charlotte Flair and not her to face at Mania. They both stated that they will face each other one day down the road.

Various reports have been out from both Fightful, PWInsider, and others that Vince McMahon had a big hand in last night’s show and changed most things within 15 minutes before the show started and sometimes during the show itself.

For a three hour show, Raw had just over 30 minutes worth of match time overall.

Raw Discussion Post: 04.03.23

The fall out from WrestleMania is here as tonight’s Raw will see Bianca Belair still as the Raw Women’s Champion. She would defeat Asuka on night two of Mania.

Also from the Raw brand who came out with a victory was Trish Stratus, and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita and Becky Lynch. They would defeat Damage CTRL. What is next for all of these women moving forward?

At the time of this writing nothing for the women has been officially confirmed for tonight.

On the sale itself he adds –

Bianca Belair Retains At WrestleMania, Reaches 365 Days As Raw Women’s Champ

After a hard battle against Asuka, Bianca Belair is still your Raw Women’s Champion. And in fact, today marks 365 days as champion with her winning and then retaining the title in back to back WrestleMania’s.

Belair had a fun entrance where the local Divas of Compton girls did a routine before Belair made her way out. It was reported during the post event press conference that the one little girl who dance directly with Belair had lost her mother earlier in the day.

The final moments of the match Asuka attempted to spray the mist but Belair was able to avoid it, leading to a back and forth exchange. Asuka countered one KOD by rolling through and locking in the armbar, however, Belair powered out to finally hit the KOD.

The other women’s match of the card tonight was the WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four-way. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler would end up winning that match with doing nearly nothing. Rousey would enter the match after tagging herself in and apply the armbar to Shotzi to get the submission victory.

Rhea Ripley Crowned NEW SmackDown Women’s Champion At WrestleMania 39

Rhea Ripley has dethroned the Queen to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ripley defeating Charlotte Flair marks her first time capturing the title and ends Flair’s reign at 92 days.

The match went on as the match right before the main event. Arguably the match of the night, Ripley and Flair laid everything out in the ring. Both women used everything in their arsenal with Ripley avoiding the Figure 8 and Flair kicking out of Riptide.

The final moments had both competitors in the corner where Ripley slammed Flair face first on to the top of the ring post. That was enough to give Ripley the advantage. She delievered an Avalanche Riptide from the ropes and pinned the Queen to secure her massive victory!

What a match!

Ripley winning makes her a Grand Slam Champion. One of now only five women to have earned that accolade. She is also the ONLY woman to have held the NXT UK Women’s, NXT Women’s, Raw Women’s, SmackDown Women’s and Women’s Tag Team Titles.

The other women’s match from Night One of Mania was the six woman tag team bout. Trish Stratus teamed up with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Lita & Becky Lynch to take on Damage CTRL.

Despite Damage CTRL controlling a good portion of the match by isolating Lita, they weren’t able to take out the combination of legends and tag team champions.

The final moments of the match saw Lynch hit a Manhandle Slam from the second rope on Bayley for the victory. As Lynch was dealing with Bayley in her corner, Lita hit a moonsault onto IYO SKY and Dakota Kai after they had been wiped out by a Twist of Fate from Lita and a Chick Kick from Stratus.

Check back in with Diva Dirt tomorrow April 2 for the second night of WrestleMania 39.

Isla Dawn And Alba Fyre Win NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles At Stand & Deliver

0

Isla Dawn has finally won gold in her WWE career as she and Alba Fyre are the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. They defeated the team of Kiana James and Fallon Henley whose inner turmoil ended their reign at 56 days.

James and Henley came into the match with a big disadvantage as they were not fully on the same page. With the big question of “Who is Sebastian?” in the back of the mind Henley, she didn’t have much trust in James since their team has formed. And that mistrust would be their down fall.

The final moments of the match had James asking Brooks Jensen to hand over her bag. Henley felt there would be something in that bag to cheat to win so she convinced Jensen not to do it. Dawn took advantage of the distraction as she delivered a back breaker allowing Fyre to hit a senton for the win.

As mentioned earlier, this is Dawn, the former NXT UK talent’s, first gold in the company. Fyre is the former longest reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion under the name Kay Lee Ray.

The NXT Women’s Championship also changed hands at this event. Indi Hartwell defeated five other women in a ladder match to achieve her first singles gold. This ended Roxanne Perez’s reign at 109 days. You can read more on that here.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of NXT.

Gisele Shaw Speaks Out On Derogatory Remarks Received, WrestleCon Responds

IMPACT Knockout Gisele Shaw is speaking out against the anti-trans remarks she received at WrestleCon. This took place on Friday, March 31.

Shaw states it was WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner who was the one hurling insults. And despite the unprovoked derogatory comments, no one else in present company stood up for her.

Shaw writes –

I have been bullied all my life and have never stood up for myself because I’m scared that I would get beat up physically, mentally, or emotionally. The bullies in my life have always silenced me, but that ends today!

I was at an autograph signing event today at Wrestlecon and while I was walking to my table, I hear someone yelling “you’re a man” “you’re a dude,” “you’re a piece of trash,” “You are filth,” “get the fuck away from here.” I kept my head down and kept walking as I did not want to acknowledge that hate. When I arrived at my table, I spoke to another IMPACT Wrestling talent who was at the signing with me and mentioned the incident. It didn’t sit well with me and I wanted to know who was saying that because it’s unacceptable, so I decided to take a walk in that area and I hear that same person saying the same derogatory comments. I looked at the person and it was Rick Steiner saying those statements. I was shocked and could not believe that this was even happening. To have someone saying those comments who a lot of people look up to and consider their hero was quite shocking and disheartening. I was in disbelief so I asked him, “excuse me?!” He kept repeating those hateful phrases and started yelling at me in a public setting. It was inexcusable and unacceptable!

Another disappointing part about this whole incident was that there were other wrestling legends who just sat there, turned their heads away, did not want to get involved, or stand up for what’s right because it involved “one of the boys.” Judging from that experience, it was more important for them to watch something wrong go down as supposed to standing up for someone who’s being bullied and doing what’s right.

I am not writing this because I want sympathy. I am writing this because I am done being bullied to silence. Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility and I am standing up for myself and for other people who go through the exact same situation on a daily basis. I want everyone to know what kind of a deplorable person Rick Steiner is and that this cannot be tolerated. This keeps happening because people let it slide and do not take any action. If you do business with these type of people then I will not to do business with you.

I want to thank all my IMPACT peers who were present during the incident and tried to diffuse the situation. Unfortunately a member of that same peer group was also verbally accosted by Rick Steiner being called a “faggot” earlier in the day. I am very fortunate to be working alongside such incredible people in a company that has no room for hate, bullying or judgment. We’re not just co-workers, but a family.

Those legends surrounding Steiner may not have opened their mouths to help out Shaw, but she is receiving tons of support online. Those who have spoken out include – Nyla Rose, Lance Storm, Moose, Gail Kim, Diamante, Lio Rush, Allison Danger, Rosemary, Matthew Rehwoldt, Nicole Savoy, Savannah Evans, Jessicka Havok, and more…

WrestleCon has issued a statement on what took place. According to PWInsider, Steiner has been notified that he is not allowed to enter or participate in the rest of WrestleCon.

“WrestleCon regrets the events that took place at yesterday’s convention and apologizes to Gisele Shaw. We aim to promote a safe and inclusive environment for all LGBTQAI+ members of the wrestling community. The issue has been addressed and we hope the remainder of the convention can be a positive experience for all.“

Diva Dirt sends our love and support to Gisele Shaw.
