Indi Hartwell Crowned NEW NXT Women’s Champion At Stand & Deliver

0

Indi Hartwell is your new NXT Women’s Champion after outlasting five other women at Stand & Deliver!

The Ladder match would open Stand & Deliver as champion Roxanne Perez defended against Zoey Stark, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton, Indi Hartwell and Gigi Dolin.

The crowd was hot throughout as several high risk spots permeated the match with each woman coming close to grabbing the title numerous times.

One such time saw Gigi Dolin alone atop the ladder but Jacy Jayne shocked everyone by appearing, seemingly over her injury, to cost Dolin at a pivotal moment.

The end came when Indi Hartwell would knock the ladder over with Stratton atop it who would take a nasty fall to the outside and clear out the entire competition.

Hartwell was seemingly too wounded to climb the ladder but her husband (former?) would appear with encouragement and a helping hand as he raises her to the title.

The Kick-Off show would include the scheduled Schism vs Chase U 8-Person Tag Team Match.

Thea Hail would tag in early on eager to face Ava who baited the crowd before immediately tagging back out. The two would eventually meet in the ring several times, interacting with the men as well, with Ava being utilised as a powerhouse.

After a fake out turn by Duke Hudson, Chase U would ultimately come out with the win and ensure their University continues!

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the women of NXT.

WrestleMania 39 Predictions: April 1 & 2

WrestleMania’s two day event kicks off tonight April 1 and will continue through the weekend on April 2. The line up is below followed by us at Diva Dirt’s predictions.

April 1 – Day 1

Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus vs. Damage CTRL

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – SmackDown Women’s Title

April 2 – Day 2

Liv Morgan/Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shotzi/Natalya vs. Ronda Rousey/Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green/Sonya Deville – WrestleMania Showcase

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka – Raw Women’s Title

Predictions

Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus vs. Damage CTRL

GARY – I can’t believe I’m seeing Lita and Trish Stratus at Wrestlemania once again! This match has, in my own opinion, had a strong build and the promo on RAW really allowed Lynch to echo sentiments shared by many fans so it’s really make or break time for Damage CTRL. I’m going with the team that NEEDS the victory and that is Damage CTRL, I don’t even care if it has to come at the expense of a Stratus heel turn (even if I lowkey suspect Lita to also turn on Lynch and give us heel Team Bestie for a little while.

WINNER: Damage CTRL

NICK – I am gonna go with Damage CTRL because I think Trish has something up her sleeve. I am super happy to see Trish and Lita in the ring at a WresteMania!

WINNER: Damage CTRL

COLBY – Someone pinch me because I still can’t believe Lita and Trish are on a WrestleMania card again, not to mention the amount of talent they get to share the ring with. It hasn’t been a perfect build, but this has been brewing since SummerSlam when Damage CTRL formed and confronted Bianca and Becky. Damage CTRL got a couple tag title reigns since then, but other than that, they’ve often been on the losing end. My head says the babyface logically get their moment, but my heart says Damage CTRL needs… well, damage control. I’m siding with them anyway.

WINNER: Damage CTRL

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – SmackDown Women’s Title

GARY – The Women’s title matches are the hardest to call for me and I wish I could say it’s because of an amazing build between all competitors but rather the opposite. The interactions have been so limited that it almost makes it really hard to predict anything. Maybe that was the plan all along? I believe at least one of the champions will lose their title at Wrestlemania and so I’m going with Ripley finally toppling Flair this weekend and beginning her reign as Smackdown Women’s Champion. It may spell the end of her run with The Judgment Day but I think the fans may be on side with Ripley after Wrestlemania, perhaps even a double turn during the rumoured Main Event of Night One?

WINNER: Rhea Ripley

NICK – Based off the terrible booking I would think Flair would retain. However, Rhea is too hot right now not to pull the trigger on her!

WINNER: Rhea Ripley

COLBY – As I wrote in my “Road to WrestleMania” article, this should be all about Ripley getting her redemption from what’s happened over the last few years. Ripley hasn’t been able to pin Flair since November 2019, and this stage would be the perfect opportunity launch Ripley even further into superstardom. Flair rarely gets defeated on the grandest stage, and she’ll be just fine taking this loss.

WINNER: Rhea Ripley

WrestleMania Showcase

GARY – It seems a pretty done deal that Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will win this one if all rumours are to be believed but I’m going against that. They could lose this match and still look incredibly strong if it takes all other teams to take them out. I’m going with a total wildcard that is Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville getting the victory! Why? Because the heart wants what it wants.

WINNERS: Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville

NICK – The obvious answer will likely be the winners. Although I would like another team such as Chelsea/Sonya to win it.

WINNERS: Ronda and Shayna

COLBY – I’m one of those people who likes to see as many women get the WrestleMania card as possible, so I’m definitely fine with these showcase tag matches happening. It’s a bummer Carmella couldn’t make it on for whatever reason, but Sonya is a suitable replacement considering she’s been active for the last year and hasn’t had a Mania match in a few years. I also like the story aspect of several of these women feuding with Rousey and Baszler. At least it’s something. With that being said, I don’t see anyone else winning this besides the terrorizing duo, and that’s okay. It’s Hollywood, it’s Rousey.

WINNERS: Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka – Raw Women’s Title

GARY – Yes the build hasn’t been great but I am so excited to see these women show out (all the women this weekend will, let’s be honest!) I just don’t see Asuka winning here or Belair losing the momentum she has just yet. I know others feel ready for Belair’s reign to end and I believe it will be Asuka to do it but I don’t think that happens here. When Belair loses the title I believe it deserves a bit more build up and a far more aggressive feud than what we’ve seen her involved in yet. I won’t be mad at an Asuka win and I know the match will be top quality but I’m going with a Belair victory.

WINNER: Bianca Belair

NICK – Another bad build, but unlike the Rhea aspect of being red hot, WWE has done nothing with Asuka’s new character. I see Bianca holding onto it a bit longer.

WINNER: Bianca Belair

COLBY – This might be the one I’m torn on the most. I thought that Asuka returning in the Rumble would kick off a heel run, but so far we haven’t crossed that line. Is WrestleMania the place for that? Asuka has yet to win a WrestleMania match, while Belair is looking to go three for three. I love Bianca, but her act could use a little bit of a change after a year of dominating. There’s a case to be made for keeping the title on Belair, but I want Asuka to become unstoppable again.

WINNER: Asuka

Stacy Keibler Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame

She’s got legs and now a WWE Hall of Fame ring!

On Friday, WWE featured its 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony which aired on Peacock following SmackDown. The first 15 to 30 minutes featured a red carpet where many stars were interviewed and seen making their way to their seats.

Stacy Keibler was the first to be inducted and she was done so by both Torrie Wilson and Mick Foley. Foley says that Keibler asked him personally if he would help induct her. Stacy inducted Wilson in 2019. Keibler would come out to “Legs” as the crowd cheered.

Keibler would first talk and thank the fans of WWE and say how before she was a wrestler she was a super fan. She shows a photo of herself in the crowd of a WCW show with a sign that said ‘Thank You Bret.’

The former Baltimore Ravens Cheerleader and WCW Nitro Girl would go on to thank many people in the industry. Those names she included were – Madusa, Trish Stratus, Lita, Molly Holly, Ivory, Jacqueline, Jazz, Victoria, and Gail Kim. She had a separate thank you to Torrie.

Diva Dirt thanks Stacy for her years of entertainment for a well deserved spot in the WWE Hall of Fame

NXT Stand & Deliver Predictions: 04.01.23

0

We have reached WrestleMania weekend! But before we get to the biggest show of the year, NXT has their premium live event Stand & Deliver which takes place at 1 PM ET. Below is the match list and the predictions from us here at Diva Dirt! Don’t forget to check back in during the show to talk about it live with our Stand & Deliver Discussion Post.

Stand & Deliver

  • Schsim vs. Chase U – Eight Person Tag Team Match for control over Chase U
  • Kiana James & Fallon Henley (c) vs. Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre – NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles
  • Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Indi Hartwell – Ladder Match for NXT Women’s Title

PREDICTIONS –

Schism vs. Chase U

COLBY – Ava Raine making her awaited debut on a major event in Hollywood actually makes sense. I almost feel bad for her because of the pressure she’s facing, but I have my hopes that she’ll do just fine. Meanwhile, Thea Hail has been an underrated character since she burst onto the scene. Both of these women are so young and will no doubt be the future of WWE. Considering the winners get control over Chase U, I’m going with Schism on this one.

WINNERS: Schism

GARY – The big story for me going in to this match up is Ava’s in-ring debut but I know the stipulation is all about the future of Chase U. While it would be surprising to see Chase U end, that’s exactly what I am going to predict. I’m going to be bold and predict that The Schism win the match and Thea Hail joins them after being ‘brainwashed’ by them back when they kidnapped her several weeks ago. Very out there prediction and I love Thea as a babyface but I’m going with some out of the box prediction here.

WINNERS: Schism

NICK – I don’t see Ava losing her first match which makes this easy to answer. I have enjoyed this storyline more than I thought I would and the way Schism was taking over the Chase U classroom last week was fun. Even though Chase U can use a win, I see this perhaps being the end of the group – for now.

WINNERS: Schism

Kiana James & Fallon Henley (c) vs. Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre – NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles

COLBY –The story here is more about Kiana and Fallon trying to be a cohesive unit, but they’re also under the pressure of working together against a strong duo like Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. I’ve enjoyed their brief reign and the character work that has come with it. On the other hand, Dawn and Fyre seem more likely to score the win here so that the current champions can really start feuding.

WINNERS: Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre

GARY – In spite of their rocky relationship, I would really hate to see Henley and James lose the titles right now because otherwise what was the point in giving them the titles? Fyre and Dawn could have done this storyline with The KC’s in my opinion if Business Casual are just going to lose here. I expect more shenanigans to further the wedge in their team and Sebastian to not be as big of a deal as he seems but I’m pulling for a James and Henley victory here tonight.

WINNERS – Kiana James and Fallon Henley

NICK – Out of the three matches, this is one I think can go either way. I think we may find out who Sebastian is in the process. Regardless, I just think it is too early for Kiana and Fallon to drop that gold. Let this storyline of untrust continue a bit longer.

WINNERS – Kiana James and Fallon Henley

Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Indi Hartwell – Ladder Match for NXT Women’s Title

COLBY – I had no doubt about Roxanne missing this event, but the way they went about it was… an interesting choice. The rest of the field is impressive, which leaves me excited to see what all they pull off. If this was to crown a new champion, I’d have to pick Tiffany Stratton. But because Perez is still early in her underdog reign, I’m assuming she defies the odds once again here.

WINNER: Roxanne Perez

GARY – This is probably the match I am most looking forward to this weekend! I think the line-up is superb and even the swerve with Roxanne coming in at the last minute has an edge of realism for me. I expect a moment of Perez doubting herself, perhaps even overwhelmed at a crucial moment when climbing the ladder but this will just cause the NXT crowd to rally behind her and she will overcome in the end and win the match. Expect every woman to show out though!

WINNER: Roxanne Perez

NICK – As a big fan of Roxanne, I am glad they didn’t just strip her of the title for whatever reason as some people suggested. I think she is doing a great job as champion and should homd onto the fold a bit longer. I can see her winning this match and having it be the foundation of a feud against Tiffany or Zoey. I am really excited they made this a ladder match to add that much more appeal to it.

WINNER: Roxanne Perez

Penelope Ford Opens Up About Having A Miscarriage

Penelope Ford, along with her husband and fellow AEW talent Kip Sabian, opened up recently about Ford having a miscarriage a year ago. They revealed the news on their YouTube channel and stated they want to be honest with their fans.

While keeping the most personal details to themselves, the couple did reveal when they told Tony Khan and despite their nerves, he was happy for them. Sadly, at ten weeks, Ford had the miscarriage.

They wanted to share their story because miscarriages still aren’t talked about despite it being quite common. Telling their story was in hopes to help others who may be struggling themselves.

Sabian added that the miscarriage and surgery is the reason why Ford was not active in the ring or or on television.

Latest On Who May Main Event Night One Of WrestleMania 39

It seems that the main event of night one of WrestleMania 39 has not fully he determined. With that being said, the latest news is leading more towards the men’s Tag Team Title match rather than the SmackDown Women’s Title match.

Originally the thought was that Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley would main event night one. Mainly due to the fact that Ripley won the Royal Rumble, however, last year’s winner Ronda Rousey didn’t main event either.

According to Fightful Select, WWE sources indicated as of Friday that Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair had not been told they were main eventing the match. It was believed that those involved in the tag team match had been made aware that they could prepare for that slot. This would be the champions The Usos vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

The report continues, one WWE source claimed that had been the case for the last couple of weeks, and many within the company had operated on the assumption that the tag team match would main event.

Internally, Fightful was told the thought had been given to Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair main eventing because women didn’t main event last year. However, virtually everyone Fightful reached out to said that they thought the tag title match would and should main event the show. It was also noted that the tag titles had never main evented WrestleMania, and a man of Syrian descent had never headlined the show.

Those that Fightful spoke to within the company believe the tag team match is going to main event, but believe it will be finalized at Saturday morning’s production meeting.

Bianca Belair Talks Pressure Heading Into WrestleMania To Go 3-0

The current Raw Women’s Champion is looking to go 3-0 for her WrestleMania ventures but there is a lot of pressure behind that. In Belair’s first Mania match she defeated Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Title in the main event of night one.

Fast forward to 2022 where she found herself chasing the Raw Women’s Title with Becky Lynch as champion. Belair defeated Lynch as well in arguably a match of the year style match. Now, a year later and Belair us still Raw Women’s Champion. However, this will be her first Mania heading in as champion.

While speaking to Fightful, Belair had the following to say about her upcoming match and her opponent – Asuka.

“I always say that I stay ready so I don’t have to get ready. WrestleMania, we look forward to all year long. The day after WrestleMania, you’re already thinking about the next WrestleMania. I’ve been thinking about this since last year. It’s a lot of pressure trying to top the last two years, but I have an amazing competitor that I’m stepping in the ring with that plays a huge role in it as well. I know Asuka is going to bring it to the table, so I have to match that and go over and beyond and above what she brings to the table. As long as we do that, we’re going to deliver. I’m excited for it,” she said.

Belair was then asked if she was excited to be facing Asuka on the big stage.

“Definitely, when I saw Asuka won Elimination Chamber, I was super excited. ‘Okay, this is good, this is great, we’re going to go out there and have a banger match.’ In the back of my mind, I’m like, ‘it’s one thing to have a match, but you want to walk out as champion, so how can we do that?’ It’s been hard trying to figure out how to prepare for someone when you don’t know what to expect. She looks different, she’s acting different. I’m excited, but the pressure is there. I had a five star match last year, now I have to go have a six star match. The pressure is there.”

Belair will be facing Asuka on night two which is April 2. Exactly 365 days since she won the title at WrestleMania 38 on April 2, 2022. Can she continue her year long reign or will Asuka take the win?

Fatal Four-way Set For March 31 SmackDown

The last episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania 39 takes place tonight and WWE has confirmed a Fatal Four-way.

One representative from each team in the WrestleMania Showcase match will be in action – Natalya vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Sonya Deville.

Which team will get a boost heading into their match this weekend? Check back in with Diva Dirt tonight to talk about SmackDown live in the discussion post.

Zoey Stark Talks Upcoming Ladder Match, Compliments Sol Ruca

0

Former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Zoey Stark took to the media frenzy this week preparing for WrestleMania weekend and for her in particular NXT’s Stand & Deliver. At Stand & Deliver, Stark will be just one woman out of six that will compete for the NXT Women’s Championship in a ladder match.

While speaking with Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Stark talked about her preparation for the ladder match both physically and emotionally.

“I’m really excited. Like you said, the talent in that ring is absolutely insane. The prep for me is: I’m just watching a little bit of film, but I don’t feel like you can ever really get prepared for a ladder match, because anything and everything could happen in a ladder match. You can’t trust those ladders.”

She continues, “They don’t know how to work! Yeah, so I’m really excited for this. It’s going to be a great match. We’re going to have a blast. We’re going to have a hell of a run in that ring.”

Stark spoke in a separate interview with Denise Salcedo she spoke about the current NXT women’s roster. Salcedo mentioned that Stark brings out the best in the talent and wants to know her thought process on a newer talent she gets in the ring with.

“I just want to make sure they look good. You know? Get them off to a great start. Like Sol Ruca. What a phenomenal athlete. She does some great things. My goal in that was let’s have the best match we could possibly have, and she delivered. She did a great job in letting me take charge a little bit and just following. She is awesome to work with.”

She continues, “I think she has a big career. I do. I think she’s going to do very very well.”

Stark defeated Ruca in order to qualify for this weekend’s ladder match. She joins – NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, and Indi Hartwell in this match.

Check back in with Diva Dirt on Saturday, April 1 at 1 PM ET when Stand & Deliver will be taking place and chat about the show live.

Natalya Wants More Women In WWE Hall of Fame, Thinks Naomi Will Return

0

Ahead of her WrestleMania Showcase match this weekend alongside her tag team partner Shotzi, Natalya took to media day and spoke with Steve Fall from Wrestling News. Natalya answered several questions including the popular topic around WrestleMania time, the WWE Hall of Fame.

When speaking on the topic of a possible second Evolution premium live event, Natalya responded with several women she feels should be getting more opportunities. This includes Dana Brooke who previously pitched the idea of turning the 24/7 Championship into a Women’s Intercontinental Title.

“I think that we need more championships,” says Natalya. “We need more representation. Next year for the Hall of Fame, I want two women getting inducted. We have all these men getting inducted. I just think it’d be so cool to have two women get inducted. There’s so many women that deserve to be in that Hall of Fame like Miss. Elizabeth, like Michelle McCool, like Layla, like Victoria, like Mickie James. The list goes on and on.”

After going over the infamous farting gimmick that Natalya had years ago, she states that she gives whatever is given to her and does it 100%. Whether this be to losing to Aliyah in three seconds, being in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, or even winning the SmackDown Women’s Title from one of who she called the best wrestlers in that of Naomi.

When asked if she feels Naomi will eventually return, she stated –

“I think so. I think that it would be so amazing to have Naomi come back to WWE. I don’t know the particulars of why they (Naomi and Sasha Banks) really left. I am close friends to both girls, but I never really asked them. And it isn’t something we really talked about. I feel like when they are ready to discuss it they will, but I also feel like everybody has to go through their own journey.”

Natalya will be teaming up with Shotzi to face Liv Morgan/Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna Baszler/Ronda Rousey, and Chelsea Green/Sonya Deville on April 2 in the WrestleMania Showcase match.

Check back in with Diva Dirt on both April 1 and April 2 to talk about WrestleMania 39 live in our discussion posts.

Deonna Purrazzo Added To Knockouts Title Match At Rebellion

IMPACT Wrestling had a double header on Thursday with a special edition of their weekly show, plus the co-promoted Multiverse United event alongside NJPW.

First on IMPACT, Miyu Yamashita made her debut for the company and managed to defeat Killer Kelly in a physical contest that was filmed at the recent tapings in Windsor. Additionally, Knockouts World Champion Mickie James appeared on the live panel and noted that she is feeling better, but her status is still up in the air for Rebellion in two weeks.

Later on Multiverse United, the sole women’s bout saw Yamashita, Masha Slamovich, Deonna Purrazzo, and Gisele Shaw battle it out in a four-way to determine who would advance to the Knockouts title match at Rebellion. James joined commentary for the bout and was very enthusiastic while watching the action unfold.

Each woman had a chance to shine in the hard-hitting affair, but Purrazzo secured the victory when she dropped Shaw with the Queen’s Gambit for the three-count.

As a result, Purrazzo will now battle Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts World Championship at Rebellion. If Mickie James is medically cleared by April 16, she will be able to defend her title against both of her former rivals in a three-way.

What did you think of Multiverse United? Are you looking forward to Rebellion? Sound off with your thoughts below!

WrestleMania 39 Line Up Confirmed For Each Day

WWE has confirmed which matches will be taking place on each day of WrestleMania 39. For those who may not know, the event takes place this weekend and continuing the trend of the past few years it will be a two-day event on both Saturday and Sunday.

The line up that has been revealed, however, it does not appear to be in order.

Saturday, April 1

Sunday, April 2 –

At this time, the rumors are that Flair vs. Ripley will main event night one as well as there may be another match added to night two with Lynch & Lita taking on the winners of the WrestleMania showcase. At this time, neither of these rumors have been confirmed by WWE.

Diva Dirt will be posting our predictions of the event as well as NXT’s Stand & Deliver shortly.

Ruby Soho Defeats Willow Nightingale With Help On Dynamite

Former tag team partners Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale squared off for the first time ever on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

Willow hit a series of body slams to start. Soho then suckered her in and yanked her into the ropes to take control. After the break, Willow planted Soho with a Death Valley Driver before Storm interfered on the turnbuckle. Soho then hit two Destination Unknowns, but Willow kicked out. Willow then pounced Soho against the ropes and took her straps down, but Storm pulled Ruby to the ropes while Saraya distracted the ref. In the end, Soho pinned Willow with her foot on the ropes to win.

After, The Outcasts beat Willow down until Riho and Skye Blue made the save. Jamie Hayter then ran down and clocked all of the heels and attempted Hayterade on Storm, but she escaped. Hayter then shook Riho’s hand to preview their title match next Wednesday.

Before that goes down, Taya Valkyrie will take on Marina Shafir on Friday’s Rampage. TBS Champion Jade Cargill appeared backstage and said she’s upset about Valkyrie ignoring the cease and desist and that she hit Road To Valhalla on Mark Sterling. Valkyrie has one more chance to cut the sh*t this Friday.

Latest On Carmella’s Recent WWE Absence

0

WWE Superstar Carmella has been missing from WWE programming for the past few weeks. It was also reported that she was pulled from live events as well.

With WrestleMania this weekend and her having formed a tag team with Chelsea Green, it was almost certain that they would be in the upcoming WrestleMania Showcase match. Questions by fans started to arise about Carmella’s whereabouts once she was replaced by Piper Niven in an advertised match between Asuka and Bianca Belair vs. herself and Green. Green will be on the WrestleMania card but with Sonya Deville as her partner.

In a new report by Fightful Select they were able to find out that she was “sidelined” but didn’t indicate why. They confirmed that she will be in LA for WrestleMania week including the Make A Wish event and a Be A Star Rally. There was a rumor going around that she had some heat on her which Fightful’s sources deemed “ridiculous.”

Carmella was seen at the LA Angels game alongside Bobby Lashley and IYO SKY. She was asked her thoughts on Stacy Keibler’s Hall of Fame induction news.

Two Names Added To NXT Women’s Title Ladder Match For Stand & Deliver

0

The field is now set at six, as Indi Hartwell and the current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez are added to the ladder bout at Stand & Deliver.

The reason for this match even taking place is due to the uncertainty on if Perez was medically cleared to compete. After she retained against Meiko Satomura last month, Perez collapsed in the ring and hasn’t been able to wrestle since. Due to this, Shawn Michaels set in motion a ladder match at Stand & Deliver to decide a new champion. But Perez is cleared now and begged Michaels to allow her in the match as she is still champion. She stated she collapsed due to exhaustion and anxiety. He agreed after somw convincing. He originally suggested to crown a new champion and giving her a title match later.

As for Hartwell, she won a last chance match as she defeated Sol Ruca and Ivy Nile in a Triple Threat. All three women were not able to advance in their initial qualifying match. The final moments of the match witnessed Nile with a choker submission on Hartwell but Ruca out of nowhere and hit the Sol Snatcher onto Nile. Hartwell took advantage and stole the win out from under Ruca. She delivered a blow to the back of Nile’s head and got the pin for the win.

Both Perez and Hartwell will join Gigi Dolin, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, and Zoey Stark in the ladder match this Saturday.

After Hartwell’s win, all competitors for the match cam out for a staredown.

Also on this week’s NXT had a match between Elektra Lopez and Valentina Feroz. The two have a story where Feroz was being “helped” by Lopez who tried to convince her to win her matches by cheating with brass knuckles. Feroz never gave into that but did use them on Lopez a few weeks ago by knocking her out.

Now the two faced off in a match that saw Lopez come out with the victory.

Ava will be having her debut match at Stand & Deliver in an eight person tag team match. The winner gets control over Chase U as Chase U will be taking on Schism. The promo shown this week hd Schism already preparing the deprogramming of Chase U and bringing them under the tutelage of Joe Gacy instead of Andre Chase.

Lastly a vignette aired for Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre as they are challenging Kiana James and Fallon Henley for the tag titles. They focused on the fact that James and Henley continue not to be on the same page. Henley knows all about Sebastian and later in the night she intended on telling Brooks Jensen.

James was able to get a match for Jensen and Josh Briggs against Tony D’Angelo and Stacks. If they won they would have been added to the men’s tag title match at S&D. They did not win, but post-match, Henley told Jensen that James had something to tell him. Instead of telling Jensen about Sebastian, James planted a kiss on Jensen.

Stand & Deliver – April 1

Riho is the inaugural AEW Women’s World Champion and she last faced Hayter in October in a losing effort. Hayter last defended against Soho and Saraya at Revolution earlier this month.

Kelly Kelly Announces That She’s Pregnant

Former WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly has taken to social media to share that she is pregnant with her husband Joe Coba. This will be the first child for the couple.

Real name Barbie Blank Coba, Kelly shared the news on her social media but also did an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She confirms that she is 14 weeks along and is expected to give birth September 25.

“I am feeling amazing,” Kelly Kelly tells ET exclusively. “I’ve been dreaming about this journey to motherhood for so long and starting a family with my incredibly supportive husband, Joe. Now that it’s here, it’s just been such a great experience.”

“Obviously, the first trimester is not so dreamy with all the morning sickness,” she shares. “But once I got out of that, the second trimester has been great. I feel like I’m myself again and have all the energy to do the things I love and missed during the first trimester like working out, etcetera.

She continues on why she has been so forthcoming with sharing her pregnancy journey.

“I think for me, the reason I wanted to be so open about my journey was because of the positive response I got back from so many fans and people all around the world, including men, after I shared about my miscarriage and how that experience has also affected them,” she tells ET. “The overwhelming responses of ‘Thank you so much for sharing your story, I wish it was talked about more,’ was really all I needed to be inspired to want to be a strong voice and to be open and honest about my fertility journey.”

Although Kelly is no longer a full-time wrestling, she is often called back to WWE during special events. She has competed in three Royal Rumbles since 2018, worked the Evolution event, and she became the first woman to hold the 24/7 Championship.

“This definitely means taking a break from wrestling for a while for sure, to really focus on my new family,” she says. “I love getting the chance to perform for the fans whenever I can, and WWE has always been great about leaving the door open for me whenever I want to come back. So who knows what will happen in the future after the baby? Maybe we will have a future wrestler on our hands?”

Diva Dirt sends our best wishes out to Kelly and her husband as they move forward on this new journey of theirs. Congratulations!

Last Team Confirmed For WrestleMania Showcase; Becky Lynch vs. IYO SKY

The last team was confirmed for the upcoming Fatal Four-way WrestleMania Showcase. This weekend four teams will battle. The names already set for the match are Liv Morgan/Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi/Natalya, Shayna Baszler/Ronda Rousey and now we add Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

On the go-home episode of Raw on March 27, Green approached Adam Pearce backstage and wondered why she hasn’t been added to the WrestleMania Showcase. Pearce reminded her she doesn’t have a tag team partner. With whatever happened to Carmella to Piper Niven now saying she wants nothing to do with Green.

Sonya Deville approached and by the power vested in the Karen, Green has herself a tag team partner. The two faced Candice LeRae and Michin. Green would get the pin on Michin after delivering the Unprettier.

To start the show this week we had a Miz TV segment featuring Trish Stratus and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Becky Lynch and Lita. Lynch carried a majority of the promo and even threw some shade at Maryse. As Lita would correct Miz telling him she doesn’t feel like she is stuck in the background due to being a champ, Damage CTRL’s music hit.

Lynch continues to say she thought she was done with Damage CTRL after WarGames but they just keep coming after her. She continues to call out Dakota Kai and IYO SKY for basically doing nothing. This led to a solid match between Lynch and SKY with some great moments. Lynch would get the win after finally catching SKY in the Manhandle Slam.

There were two video packages for Asuka and Bianca Belair. Also a backstage promo was given by Rhea Ripley to Charlotte. If you would like the Diva Dirt preview doe these two WrestleMania matches you can click on these links –

Road To WrestleMania 39: Asuka vs. Bianca Belair

0

“When Asuka can go years being undefeated, that’s just showing that shes in a class all by herself.” – Molly Holly.

Bianca Belair looks to make it a three-peat when she defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka at WrestleMania 39. The EST’s reign is approaching the one-year mark, while The Empress of Tomorrow is out to end her WrestleMania losing streak. The question remains: Is Bianca Belair truly ready for Asuka?

Asuka’s nearly 20-year career has taken her all over the world as she started in Japan before debuting for WWE NXT in 2015. Right off the bat, Asuka was a force to be reckoned with, racking up wins until she dethroned Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship. 510 days later, Asuka’s dominant reign came to an end only because she was out of competition and moved up to Raw as a result.

She continued her winning ways on the main roster to set up the honorable distinction of winning the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018. And rather than target the Raw Women’s title then-held by Alexa Bliss, Asuka pursued the face of WWE’s women’s division in Charlotte Flair.

Flair and Asuka squared off for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in what has since been regarded as one of the best women’s matches in WrestleMania history. Unfortunately, though, Asuka tapped out. Her coveted win streak was over.

The following year, Asuka lost the SmackDown Women’s title to Flair just days before WrestleMania, relegating her to the WrestleMania battle royal. At WrestleMania 36, Asuka and Kairi Sane walked in with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, but they did not leave with their gold. WrestleMania 37 had similar fate as Asuka lost her Raw Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley, putting an end to all the work she put in during the pandemic era.

Meanwhile, Bianca Belair was on the come up. Fans learned what The EST was all about when she won the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania 37 in historic fashion by beating Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Later that year, Belair lost her title to Becky Lynch in seconds, leading many to wonder if Belair’s impressive success was all a fluke. However, The EST proved it wasn’t just five seconds of fame when she pinned Lynch at WrestleMania 38 to avenge her loss and win her first Raw Women’s Championship in the process.

Following that victory is when Belair officially had the opportunity to get acquainted with Asuka after they had minimally crossed paths in multi-woman matches in the years prior. Asuka was back from injury and hungry for gold. Lynch was lost without a title for the first time in years. And Belair was tasked with doing everything in her power to maintain her status as champion.

They were all on a collision course for a triple threat at Hell in a Cell in June. But before they got there, Belair and Asuka had their first singles matches together. The pace was quick with a matching level of intensity. In the end, Asuka thought she had dodged Belair’s moonsault, but Belair was one step ahead with a pinfall reversal. A week later at Hell in a Cell, Belair pinned Asuka again by capitalizing on Lynch’s Manhandle Slam.

Rather than continuing as rivals, Belair and Asuka found themselves on the same side while feuding with Damage CTRL. The months-long feud culminated in Belair and Asuka’s team emerging victorious inside WarGames in November. Despite winning the war, Asuka’s confidence was shaken after suffering consecutive losses to Rhea Ripley and Bayley.

It wasn’t long before Asuka returned in the Royal Rumble match with new face paint and new theme music to compliment a new attitude. She lasted over a half hour in the match to be one of the last three women in the bout. While that night wasn’t meant to be, Asuka did punch her ticket to WrestleMania by winning a six-woman Elimination Chamber match just weeks later to make Belair vs. Asuka official.

Since then, Asuka has played mind games with Belair week after week. This is a woman who has been in Belair’s shoes before — the dominant champion with no one to stop her. She might as well be considered the “fifth Horsewoman” considering she’s made just as much history alongside the four. The only issue is, Asuka doesn’t have much to show for it as far as her WrestleMania history is concerned.

Asuka has witnessed Belair’s ascent to the top while her own journey back to WrestleMania hasn’t gone as smoothly. Similar paths, but different destinations. It all comes down to whether or not Belair will be ready for this version of Asuka. Belair had plenty of time and resources to prepare for Banks and Lynch in her previous WrestleMania matches. She’s also pinned Asuka twice before, but Asuka’s mind games might just be enough to get in the way this time.

A win for Belair certainly adds to her legacy, but a loss for Asuka would hinder hers. It’s in the Empress of Tomorrow’s best interest to prove that she is still an enigmatic threat today.

Do you think it’s time Asuka dethrones Belair? Or do you think Belair should continue her WrestleMania streak? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below!

Raw Discussion Post: 03.27.23

We have reached the last Raw before WrestleMania weekend!

Set for tonight will be a Miz TV segment that will involve the Women’s Tag Team Champions Becky Lynch and Lita along with their partner for Mania, Trish Stratus. They are set to clash with Damage CTRL this weekend.

Tonight will also be the last build for Bianca Belair and Asuka heading into their Raw Women’s Title match.

As always, feel free to discuss below.

Becky Lynch Hopes To Fight On Both Nights Of WrestleMania 39

0

Becky Lynch is hoping to have two matches this year at WrestleMania 39.

The biggest show of the year takes place this weekend and Lynch already knows that she will have one match which is a six-woman tag team match. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion will team up with her co-champion Lita as well as Trish Stratus to take on all three members of Damage CTRL. But what does she want to do on the second night?

While speaking on the Tommy Tiernan Show, Lynch states – “I’m going in first night, I believe, in a six-woman match. And then, because I’m Tag Team Champion, I’m hoping that I will be defending my title the second night, too. So ‘Becky Two Fights,’ they’ll call me.” (h/t – Wrestling Inc.)

With Lynch believing she will have the six-woman tag team match on night one, this can open the door for her and Lita to defend on night two. If that is the case, they may very well be facing the winners of the WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match.

As of now, three out of the four teams have been confirmed without it being said the winner will earn a tag team title bout. The teams so far are Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan, and Shotzi & Natalya. The fourth team will likely be confirmed on the March 27 Raw.

Lynch will be joining Lita and Stratus on Miz TV on tonight’s Raw event.

Would you like to see another match get added to WrestleMania for the women on night two? Discuss below.
