Report: News On WWE/TNA Crossover, More To Come

0

In a moment that shocked everyone, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace showed up on the May 28 episode of NXT. Not only did she show up, she challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Title at Battleground and will even be in action on NXT programming next week, taking on Stevie Turner.

But will TNA see some WWE talent at their events?

According to a report by PWInsider, there is more to come.

The word backstage at tonight’s WWE NXT taping was that Jordynne Grace appearing on WWE NXT Battleground will not be the only WWE-TNA collaboration in the days ahead.

The belief among those we’ve spoken with is that there will be some sort of NXT representation on future TNA events and programming as well, although we haven’t heard how much that could be and whether it could be anyone beyond Roxanne Perez.

Diva Dirt will continue to bring you any addition news on this subject.

Roxanne Perez vs. Jordynne Grace Set For NXT Battleground

0

Yes, you read that headline right.

TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace will be challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship At NXT Battleground on June 9.

In an incredible moment on the May 28 episode of NXT, Perez made her way to ring to find out who her challenger would be for Battleground. The champs promo was all about how much the NXT Women’s Championship means to her and how much she values it. She doesn’t see it as some stepping stone and has worked nine long years since the age of 13 to become the NXT Women’s Champion.

Continuing to feel disrespected by General Manager Ava, Perez hates how she has to find out who her challenger will be in this matter. Nonetheless, Ava made her way out. She says she thinks Perez is a great champion despite what Perez feels. She then says that Perez’s challenger will be…

TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace’s music hits. Holy Shit and TNA chants spread through the crowd. Grace reintroduces herself for those who may not know her or remember her for the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Grace said that Roxanne is a great champion. She has built a name for herself in NXT much as Grace has in TNA. But, who has the strongest foundation? We will find out when then NXT Women’s Championship is on the line at Battleground!!

Oh…and the TNA Knockouts Champion didn’t just come to NXT for one match. She faces Stevie Turner next week!

NXT Preview, May 28: Roxanne Perez Finds Out Her Opponent For Battleground

0

NXT Battleground is quickly approaching on Sunday, June 9 and we need an opponent for Roxanne Perez and the NXT Women’s Championship.

On last week’s NXT, General Manager Ava left us with a cliffhanger as she spoke on the phone about Perez’s opponent. She stated she already cleared it with both General Managers of Raw and SmackDown – Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis.

So it is likely a main roster talent.

Also, we will know the final two participants to join the ladder match at Battleground to battle it out to become the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. So far in the match are Fallon Henley, Lash Legend, Sol Ruca, and Jaida Parker.

The qualifying matches tonight are –

  • Wren Sinclair vs. Kelani Jordan
  • Michin vs. Tatum Paxley

There will be a total of three women’s matches at Battleground including an NXT Underground match where Shayna Baszler will take on Lola Vice. What will we see for more build on this tonight?

Liv Morgan Defeats Lynch In Steel Cage Raw Main Event! Alba & Isla Confront Shayna & Zoey

0

Hey everybody, welcome back to Monday Night Raw! Tonight marks the first date of the championed Liv Morgan’s Revenge Tour.

The first introduction on Raw for our new Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley. Morgan hypes up her and Lynch’s steel cage match later tonight with a solid promo stating the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour is just getting started. Either way, stoked for a main event rematch. Morgan seemed absolutely certain she’s retaining hmmm.

Kiana James interrupts a backstage altercation between Bron Breakker and Adam Pearce, blink and you miss it but Kiana looked great.

Lyra is backstage slouched inside her locker, disappointed after her loss to Nia Jax. Becky sits down next to her, offers advice and shares a cryptic message hinting at her departure while looking pensive.   And Lyra should invest in some knee pads!

Kairi Sane accompanied by Dakota Kai debut’s new theme music for our first women’s match of the night as she takes on Lyra Valkyria! Don’t have any strong impressions upon first listen but it’s a far cry from her original NXT theme I’ll say that much.

Kairi Sane vs. Lyra Valkyria

Lyra’s in noticeable pain, and after replaying the Annihilator from QOTR, not hard to imagine why. The match didn’t go for too long but both women looked good with the time given. All of Kairi’s offense connected with Valkyria’s abdomen hard. Good babyface selling. After an Insane Elbow reversal, Valkyria roll’s up Kairi for the win!

Winner: Lyra Valkyria

IYO SKY is sitting in solitude backstage, walks in comes the rest of Damage Control. SKY snaps and destroys the furniture, stares down her stablemates, and storms out. A faceturn for IYO is on the horizon and considering the way IYO works the crowd during her matches, makes sense.

Promo airs prior to our main event looking back on Liv Morgan’s tour to becoming champion. Soaking it in as I’m really happy for Liv to have finally made it this point.

Cathy Kelley with #1 Contenders for the Women’s Tag Team Titles – Shayna and Zoey, Sonya Deville interrupts to make points and continue her reasoning on why she should represent Shayna & Zoey. Alba and Isla (FINALLY) make their presence in the division known, confronting the #1 Contenders. Cute segment, not a single wasted moment. Shayna feels like she’s being built back up again.

Liv Morgan vs. Becky Lynch

The weight of the world is on Becky’s shoulders as she makes her entrance but Liv is all smiles strutting down to the ring with the championship around her waist. The match in and of itself was good enough, both women were trying to punish the other with countless collisions into the steel cage but the in ring action took a backseat to advancing multiple Judgment Day storylines at once. Dom Dom has the door open, beckoning Becky to escape as the main event draws to a close. Out comes Judgment Day, questioning Dom’s motives but before they can reach a consensus Braun Strowman interrupts, circles the ring and ends up shoving Dom, who is catapulted into the open door, consequently slamming it into Lynch’s face who was about to escape. Liv capitalizes on the chaos, escaping from the cage thus successfully defending her championship.

Winner: AND STILL WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPION… Liv Morgan!

Becky looks on dejected while Morgan celebrates her victory posing along the aisle as she makes her way up the ramp. As the show comes to a close, Liv comes face to face with Dominik, pauses and smacks a big ole kiss on Dom Dom’s lips to end the show.

Mami is gonna be pissed!! The main event did exactly what it was supposed to do, Liv’s angle is the biggest talking point coming out of Raw! Interested to see if Lynch really will be taking time off considering her contract is set to expire June 1st. Considering how much Lyra has been built up, I can see her feuding with Liv in honor of Lynch as we wait for Mami to make her return.

What did you think of this week’s Raw?

Tonight’s Raw will be the fall out from King And Queen of the Ring premium live event.

In the main event will be a rematch with the newly crowned Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan defending against Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage!

Steel Cage Match For The Women’s World Title Set For Raw

0

Becky Lynch will be getting her rematch for the Women’s World Championship on tonight’s Raw.

General Manager Adam Pearce made the match official for tonight’s main event and it will be inside a steel cage. Due to the interference by Dominik Mysterio at King And Queen of the Ring this will be a true one-on-one.

Will Morgan be able to keep the championship in this high stakes rematch?

Raw Preview, May 27: New Women’s World Champion Arrives

0

With King And Queen of the Ring in the rearview, it is time to deal with the aftermath.

Liv Morgan is your new Women’s World Champion thanks in part to Dominik Mysterio who flubbed the assist he tried to give to Becky Lynch. At Saturday’s event, Mysterio tried to give Lynch a steel chair for her to secure retaining the championship. However, The Man isn’t about that life and Morgan utilized it instead to capture not only her first victory against Lynch but her second singles title in her career.

Post match in a backstage segment, an infuriated Lynch verbally assaults Mysterio and tells Byron Saxton she’s going to get a rematch for the title on tonight’s Raw. The match hasn’t been formerly announced by WWE at this time.

Also, what’s next for Lyra Valkyria? Coming up short in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament to Nia Jax leaves a reset to Valkyria.

Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler became number one contenders for the tag titles. With Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair retaining against Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae on Saturday what will happen in the tag division?

All of this and hopefully more tonight on Raw! Check back in with Diva Dirt to talk about it live!

Giulia Undergoes Surgery For Fractured Wrist

0

Giulia is doing everything she can to make sure she is back in the ring come July. This included having surgery for her fractured wrist she suffered on May 20 at Marigold’s premiere event.

Before providing us an update of her own, Tokyo Sports confirmed that Giulia has undergone surgery on her right wrist.

Giulia wants to be ready to go for her match against Sareee at Marigold Summer Destiny on July 13. There’s also the expectation she will be at NXT’s Heatwave on July 7.

Shotzi Provides Health Update, Healing With Stem Cell Treatment

0

Shotzi is doing what she can to return to the ring pain free. She has been in Mexico receiving Stem Cell Treatment.

Shotzi tore her ACL during the NXT TV tapings on February 13 in a match against Lyra Valkyria. The match has to be stopped for the officials to help her. A normal ACL injury has a talent out for nine months to a year. So she has still many months in recovery post surgery. However, Shotzi is taking this time also to heal from a nagging back injury from two and a half years ago.

She writes in a social media post:

In Mexico to finally get the stem cells I have been wanting since I hurt my back 2 and 1/2 years ago! Realizing that my knee injury is giving me the opportunity to finally heal my back has been a huge silver lining. Thank you @rejuvstem Thank you Universe. I am forever grateful. Here is to wrestling pain free when I come back! But first coconuts and cenotes!

Although out of action since Feb., Shotzi did appear with her husband at the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame in April.

Mercedes Moné Wins Big At Double or Nothing; Storm Retains Against Deeb

The night is here as the women of AEW placed their bets in Las Vegas at Double or Nothing, with gold and their pride on the line.

On the kickoff show, it’s a rematch as Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo go head to head to settle their differences once and for all.

The two lockup and are pretty even on the early goings of the match. The two end up going outside as Rosa hits a dropkick through the ropes, but is caught when Purrazzo hits a Big Boot, turning the match around in her favor.

Purrazzo takes control of the match, and Rosa tries to power through with her technicality. Rosa attempts to go for a Cobra Clutch but cannot seem to lock it in as the two continuously reverse their offense. Unfortunately for Rosa, Purazzo rolls her up with some leverage from the bottom rope to steal the win.

Next, the AEW Women’s World Championship is on the line as “Timeless” Toni Storm looks to defend her title against Serena Deeb. “The Professor” has had a one-up on Storm for the past few weeks, but Storm has taken some personal shots toward her as well.

Deeb with the technicality advantage finds ways to tie up Storm for her own good. Yet, Storm has some “unique” offense of her own as the two keep each other disoriented. The two go back and forth, but meet each other with a headbutt.

Deeb counters for an armbar, but Storm ends up powering through and locking a Cloverleaf against her. Deeb manages to fire up and make a comeback and it seems that Storm is having difficulty reversing her.

The match is all in Deeb’s favor, and Mariah May is about to throw in the towel for Storm until Luther tries to stop her. Storm snags the the towel from Luther thinking he was about to forfeit the match, and gets back in the ring to hit a Storm Zero on Deeb. Deeb miraculously kicks out and follows up with a Deebtox. But to Deeb’s surprise, Storm kicks out of her finisher as well. The two end up on the top rope, and Storm hits an Avalanche Storm Zero and follows up with another Storm Zero to retain her title.

After over a year-long injury, Mercedes Moné is back in action as she challenges current TBS Champion Willow Nightingale for her title. Moné and Nightingale have been at odds since Moné’s AEW debut at Big Business. And since their last clash for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, Moné blames Nightingale for causing her heel injury and almost taking the one thing she loves most, “wrestling,” away from her. Tonight is the night that these two come full circle.

Moné of course arrives in style to the beat of a drumline, and the Champion Nightingale arrives with Stokeley Hathaway and Kris Statlander in tow.

At the start of the bell, Nightingale immediately charges at her challenger and Moné tries to make a bail for it. Moné attempts to use her quickness to her advantage, but Nightingale uses her size and strength advantage to slow her down. The two make it out of the ring and Nightingale hits a Babe with the Powerbomb onto the apron.

Nightingale takes control over the match for a while, but Moné plays her dirty tricks and clips the knee of Nightingale on the corner ropes. Moné targets the left knee throughout the match, but Nightingale finds an opening to wear down Moné with an ankle lock and hits her patented Pounce.

Nightingale is back in control and sets up Moné to the top rope. Unfortunately for her, Moné slips out and manages to hit a powerbomb off the top. Nightingale rolls out to the apron, and Moné makes the mistake of missing a double stomp with Nightingale retargeting the injured heel. But, Moné plays it smart by getting out of the way from a whiffed cannon in the corner. Moné hits her Meteora to the outside and pushes Statlander out of the way.

While Statlander is busy with the referee, Nightingale hits Babe with a Powerbomb with no one to count. Moné tries to make a familiar statement, but Nightingale powers through. In the corner, Moné sunsets over Nightingale to set up the Moné Maker and hits it to become the new TBS Champion.

Post-match, Hathaway is irate at this loss and Statlander pushes him down seemingly annoyed. It is then that Statlander turns on Nightingale on the ramp and rips off her friendship bracelet in tandem. Hathaway is still in the ring with a giant smirk on his face.

What did you think of tonight’s Double or Nothing? What did you think of Moné’s return match? And where will Nightingale and Statlander’s friendship go from here? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

AEW Owen Hart Cup Returns, Finals Set For July 10

The Owen Hart Foundation Cup is returning to AEW for the third year.

Dr. Martha Hart appeared on the Double or Nothing Buy In to confirm the returning event. However, this time, the winner of both the women’s and the men’s tournaments will earn a title shot.

Prior winners were Dr. Britt Baker in year one and Willow Nightingale last year.

Who do you want to win this year?

Mina Shirakawa Says She Wants The AEW Women’s World Title

Mina Shirakawa is aiming to break the Forbidden Door, with a potential championship and Mariah May in hand.

Forbidden Door 2024 is arriving this June, and Shirakawa’s goal may potentially be a lock come tonight’s Double or Nothing

Per Tokyo Sports, Shirakawa says that her first goal when competing in AEW was to wrestle Mercedes Moné. But, has recently set her interests toward the AEW Women’s World Championship that “Timeless” Toni Storm holds. At Stardom American Dream 2024, Storm and Shirakawa met face to face with Shirakawa stating that she was ready to knock the Forbidden Door down.

Since then, Shirakawa has been frequently spotted on AEW, with a win over Anna Jay this past April on Dynamite. And, reunions with her former Club Venus tag team partner Mariah May. With her constant travel between North America and back, she continues her English studies and hopes to one day become more famous than the Hachiko statue located in Tokyo, Japan.

Storm will have to get through Serena Deeb first tonight at DON which will be no easy task!

Toni Storm Mocks Serena Deeb’s Prior Health Issues Before They Clash At DON

The AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm isn’t holding back any punches (or words) when it comes to her Double or Nothing opponent – Serena Deeb. The two face off later today for the gold at the pay-per-view.

On Saturday’s Collision, a clip aired of Storm addressing not just Deeb but anyone like her. Targeting Deeb’s prior health concerns, she says that with Deeb twitching on the floor she took that as a sign to keep wrestling?

Storm adds, “I’ll make your 3 seizures feel like a Sunday stroll at the bloody park.”

Storm ends by saying, don’t worry, in your obituary it will say you once lost to the champ.

Deeb provided a response in a backstage interview. She promised to stretch Storm limb from limb and will finally become AEW Women’s World Champion.

Elsewhere on Collision, the TBS Champion Willow Nightingale had her final moments before her clash with Mercedes Moné at DON.

The champion made her way to the ring for a promo. She admitted that she kept thinking about Moné grabbing the TBS Title on last night’s Rampage, saying that she and Moné were past the point of respect. She adds that she will make Moné recall the days she was on the shelf. Nightingale added that she would be damned if Double Or Nothing was the night where her title reign ends because she was just getting started. She ended the promo by saying that she would prove to Moné that the better wrestler is Willow Nightingale.

Lastly, the match on Collision was between Mariah May and Leyla Hirsch. May was victorious.

Mercedes Moné Has Been Medically Cleared Since December 2023

Mercedes Moné is about to step inside of a wrestling ring to wrestle for the first time in a year. Tonight, Moné takes on the last person she wrestled, Willow Nightingale, for the AEW TBS Championship.

Moné last faced Nightingale in May of last year where she was injured. That match was to crown the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion. That title was supposed to go to Moné but due to her injury the match result was changed and Nightingale took the honor and the title.

Moné joined AEW in March making her debut at Big Business. Many have speculated why Moné hasn’t wrestled at all until now, some saying she may have still been recovering from injury.

In a feature article by Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, it’s noted that “She was medically cleared to wrestle in December and believes she’s in the best shape of her life for her AEW debut.”

She said the first week after surgery was the “most pain I’ve ever felt in my whole life.” So the road hasn’t been easy.

“Moné said she spent the past year training in every wrestling school in the Orlando area.

That included working out with the former Scrypts in WWE, Lince Dorado and former Ring of Honor women’s champion Sumie Sakai, among others to be exposed to many styles and teachings as possible.”

For Mercedes Moné fans tonight’s match has been a year in the making.

Nia Jax Crowned 2024 Queen of the Ring

Nia Jax can be called Queen from now on. Jax defeated Lyra Valkyria in the Queen of the Ring finals on Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She was crowned and congratulated in the ring post match by Triple H. Jax defeated Naomi, Jade Cargill (by DQ), and Belair to make it to the finals.

The final moments of the match had Jax lifting up Valkyria in the corner on her shoulders but Valkyria would counter out with a sunset flip. She tried to execute the power bomb but Jax was just too strong who then delivered the most devastating Annihilator yet to get the three count and the win.

After being crowned, Kayla Braxton tried to interview Jax in the ring who cut her off. Jax says she knows nobody is happy for her win but she is happy. She says everyone will be even more unhappy by SummerSlam where she will become the new WWE Women’s Champion.

Liv Morgan Wins Women’s World Title; Jade/Bianca Retain

Liv Morgan did it! She is now Women’s World Champion. And she received an assist from an unlikely person.

Heading into this championship match against Becky Lynch in the Kingdom of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Morgan was down in an 0 and 4 record to Lynch. Never having won a singles match against Lynch, now was Morgan’s time. Her “Liv Morgan Revenge Tour” was in its final chapter after first taking Rhea Ripley out and now taking the gold off of Lynch.

In the final moments of the 20 minute opening match, Dominik Mysterio appeared at ring side. Mysterio showed up on the Countdown show to tell Morgan that he flew half way around the world to make sure she didn’t win Mami’s title.

Well….

As the referee was checking on Morgan in one corner, Mysterio tossed in a chair for Lynch to use to secure her win. He then distracted the ref so Lynch could use it. However, Lynch had no interest in it but Morgan did. She hit a DDT to Lynch on the chair and pushed it to the side to deliver ObLIVion and get the three count to be crowned the new Women’s World Champion!

On the Countdown show, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair retained the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae. Even though LeRae targeted Belair’s “injured” knee and Hartwell being unserious by playing with her pigtails it would be the power duo to come out on top.

The final moments had Belair get a chop block in on LeRae. Cargill and Belair use their tag team finisher of an assisted DDT and an Ocean Cyclone Suplex to get the win.

Dominik Mysterio Confronts Liv Morgan Ahead Of Women’s World Title Match

Liv Morgan is set to do whatever it takes to become the new Women’s World Champion at King and Queen of the Ring premium live event.

On the Countdown show, Morgan was being interviewed about her upcoming match. An unexpected guest approached her, someone who wasn’t even supposed to be in Saudi Arabia, and that was Dominik Mysterio.

When asked by Morgan why Mysterio was there, he stated:

“I flew all the way to Saudi Arabia to make sure you don’t get your hands on Mami’s World Championship”
