Ripley And Jax Go Face-To-Face, Confirmed As Elimination Chamber Main Event

The Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley will be defending her title against Nia Jax in the main event at Elimination Chamber.

This will take place in Perth, Australia which is not only Ripley’s home country, but Jax was born there also. This also is the first women’s main event on a PLE since Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 37 in 2021.

At the Elimination Chamber press event, Ripley and Jax went face-to-face as Ripley boasts that she has all of Australia behind her. Jax wants to then give a preview of fans what she is going to do to Ripley tomorrow. Instead, Ripley teases a Riptide but throws her drink in Jax’s face instead as Triple H comes out to separate them.

Also at the press event, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair had words heading into the chamber match. A match our of the six competitors only Belair has won. Lynch says that Belair won’t just be in the chamber with her but she will be in there with The Man. Belair says they have been enemies, friends, but they are competitors. And she sees Lynch in her way to get to WrestleMania.

Tiffany Stratton was part of the conversation, but she stormed off after calling Lynch a has-been. She says it won’t be Big Time at WrestleMania, it will be Tiffy Time.

Women’s Tag Team Title Match Set For Elimination Chamber Kick Off

Previously announced there were only two women’s matches set for the upcoming Elimination Chamber event in Perth, Australia.

Outside of the Elimination Chamber match itself, Rhea Ripley will be defending in her home country the Women’s World Title against Nia Jax. In the chamber will he Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Naomi, and Tiffany Stratton. The winner will face either Ripley or Jax at WrestleMania XL.

The Women’s Tag Team Champions, the Kabuki Warriors are indeed in Perth for the event and their gold will be defended. They will be defending against Australia’s own Indi Hartwell along with Candice LeRae.

Diva Dirt will have up a Discussion Post for the event, but due to the time zone differences, feel free to join the discussion whenever!

TNA No Surrender Predictions For Feb. 23

TNA is set to have their next live event this Friday as No Surrender is taking place. Currently, there are two Knockouts matches on the card with both championships on the line.

Knockouts World Tag Team Championships

Decay (c) vs. MK Ultra

Knockouts World Championships

Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Gisele Shaw

Shaw is cashing in her Ultimate X win with this match against Grace. She has also turned on her now-former tag team partner Savannah Evans.

Below you will see Diva Dirt’s predictions.

Knockouts World Tag Team Championships

NICK – I feel so bad for the Knockouts as a whole right now. They still have some solid workers and adding Xia Brookside and Ash By Elegance will help some, but this tag team division is non existent. It would make zero sense for MK Ultra to win the titles back here. So unless some tag teams come out of nowhere here for more competition (which eventually I hope they do), Decay is retaining. Only other team that are floating about right now is Dani and Jodi and they are way too fresh to be winning the belts yet.

WINNER: Decay

COLBY: I’m not quite sure yet what to make of TNA’s current Knockouts tag division, but I’m not mad about these four getting a spot on the card for a rematch. Decay “returning” at Hard To Kill and regaining the gold was a nice surprise despite me not being ready for MK Ultra to lose. Since I’d rather not see another hot potato title change as the division is known to have, I’m okay with Decay retaining here.

WINNER: Decay

Knockouts World Championships

NICK: Man! I want Gisele to win this title so bad. And part of me thinks she could. She dumped Savannah, giving her free space to fly solo. But with what has gone on behind the scenes and even before that, Jordynne is the face of the company now more than ever with Trinity, Mickie, and Deonna all being gone. So Jordynne has to retain, right? I do hope we get something to spice it up post match though. An attack by Ash perhaps?

WINNER: Jordynne Grace

COLBY: When I predicted Shaw to win Ultimate X, I imagined that her title shot would result in her winning the gold. But that was before Jordynne Grace appeared in the Royal Rumble. I also didn’t think she’d cash in this soon. Nevertheless, I’m excited for what is sure to be a hard-hitting contest. With TNA in yet another transitional period, I’m not sure another title change is the right move. While I’m ready for Shaw to be champion, I don’t think Grace is dropping it just yet.

WINNER: Jordynne Grace

Ash By Elegance Wins TNA IMPACT Debut

Ash By Elegance made her official TNA IMPACT in-ring debut on February 22 when she battled Savannah Thorne.

Ash would hold Thorne in the corner with a boot before doing a handspring back elbow into her. Ash then climbed up top and hit Rarified Air (a swanton bomb) for the pinfall victory.

While it was the only Knockouts match of the evening, we did hear from Dani Luna and Jody Threat who made it known that they want a shot at the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship after No Surrender from either Decay or MK Ultra.

We also heard from Ultimate X winner Gisele Shaw who was confronted by Hall of Famer Gail Kim. Gail gave props to Shaw for ditching Savannah Evans and Jai Vidal, however Shaw seemed to tune her out and remains focus on dethroning Jordynne Grace this Friday.

Looking ahead to next week, Tasha Steelz addressed her rubber match against Xia Brookside, which is set to be taped in New Orleans this weekend and will air next Thursday.

Madison Rayne Responds After Scary Spot On Dynamite

Madison Rayne made her in-ring return on the Feb. 21 episode of AEW Dynamite. She had been out of action since August. Rayne faced Deonna Purrazzo and there was a scary moment that landed Rayne on her head. It appeared to be a flatliner/DDT.

Rayne responded that she is okay and thanked those for their concern. And to those who would rather go at her over asking if she is okay she just thanked them for watching.

The match and incident can be seen below.

Toni Storm And Deonna Purrazzo Each Score Wins On AEW Dynamite

The February 21 episode of AEW Dynamite featured two women’s matches.

First, AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm was in action as she squashed local competitor Sydni Winnell. Storm dominated until she trapped Winnell in Deonna Purrazzo‘s own Venus de Milo arm submission for the tap-out victory.

Immediately after, Deonna Purrazzo came down to the ring to take on Madison Rayne.

Rayne slammed Purrazzo into the ring steps early on before Purrazzo made her comeback in the ring. Ultimately, Purrazzo trapped Rayne in Storm’s Break A Leg submission for the win.

Afterward, Storm attacked her next challenger and trapped Purrazzo in an ankle lock while the referee pleaded with Storm to break the hold. These two will square off a week from Sunday.

Looking ahead, Mariah May vs. Anna Jay has been announced for this Friday’s Rampage.

In a new video, Kamille says that she has had interest from WWE, AEW, and TNA. She says she is grateful for that and she spent all January thinking about where she wants to be. But where will she make her next home? Well, we don’t know as the video cuts out as she goes to “tell” us.

In the latest rumor, Kamille was in “deep discussion” with AEW but there had been prior talks of an NXT contract with WWE.

Lash Legend Answers Open Challenge, Shotzi Injured In Main Event

0

The Feb. 20 episode of NXT was pre taped so fans knew of at least Shotzi’s injury. In what can only be described as a freak accident, Shotzi came down wrong and suffered an ACL tear which took her out of the match. It was the main event and the NXT Women’s Title was on the line against the champion Lyra Valkyria.

Due to the injury, the match stopped, but General Manager Ava came out to still give fans an NXT Women’s Title match as she let Valkyria know this would now be an open challenge. It would be Lash Legend who answered the call.

Despite the last minute change, Legend, who had already competed earlier in the night, showcased the powerhouse that she is. However, the champion continued her reign as she would pin the Meta Four member.

Legend was victorious earlier in the night as she defeated Kelani Jordan.

There was one person who wasn’t happy with Legend answering the open challenge and that was Roxanne Perez. Perez has been trying to get a one-on-one match against Valkyria and every time it ends up not in her favor. For example, Lola Vice cashing in her Breakout Tournament contract at Vengeance Day which made that match a Triple Threat.

Perez had a victory over Wren Sinclair this week by submission, but much like Legend, Perez would have gladly stepped up. She was in the showers when Legend accepted Ava’s request. Once she found out she was irate and knocked over the monitor in the locker room.

Lastly, Jacy Jayne took on Arianna Grace. Jayne was joined by both Thea Hail and newcomer Jazmyn Nyx. Nyx was in Chase U last week and seemed to have formed a bond with Jayne.

Hail wasn’t helping Jayne in the way she wanted and it seems that Nyx is stepping up as she was the one to raise Jayne’s hand at the end as she was victorious against Grace.

Shotzi Confirms ACL Injury, Out For At Least Nine Months

0

Shotzi has updated fans on her knee injury that took place during her NXT Women’s Title match which was taped last week. The match airs tonight.

Per Shotzi –

I tore my ACL which means I will be out of action for about 9 months. Thank you to everyone who has checked up on me. I am so sorry if I haven’t responded. I am just extremely devastated and angry. Some of you know, I have been through a lot the last few years and it has been so hard to keep up with what I think is expected of me and honestly my mental health had been at an all time low. But l’ve pushed through and I was feeling motivated and like myself again. I was hoping to go to NXT to prove myself again, earn some respect, build back my confidence and start putting the heartache from the past 2 years behind me. I feel defeated right now but I’m simultaneously feeling the most motivated I have ever been. I have been through way worse. I’ve watched my sister, who is fighting cancer, fight tougher battles. I’m just taking this as a sign to slow down. I didn’t take time off when both my stepdad and my dad passed and that really affected me. Now I am looking forward to coming back not just physically stronger, but mentally also.

The match was still being advertised to air tonight as of last night’s Raw. Shotzi also missed out on her Elimination Chamber qualifying match and was replaced by Alba Fyre. She was originally set to face Tiffany Stratton. Stratton would go on to defeat Zelina Vega while Naomi defeated Fyre.

Raquel Rodriguez Returns, Wins Battle Royal To Qualify

0

Raquel Rodriguez returned to Raw for the first time since being defeated by Nia Jax in November.

Rodriguez returned just in time to win a huge Battle Royal which made her the sixth and final entry into the Elimination Chamber match this Saturday in Perth, Australia. She was the last woman standing after eliminating Chelsea Green.

The full elimination order was:

  • Maxxine Dupri
  • Valhalla
  • Xia Li
  • Isla Dawn
  • Tegan Nox
  • B-Fab
  • Zelina Vega
  • Elektra Lopez
  • Candice LeRae
  • Indi Hartwell
  • Katana Chance
  • Alba Fyre
  • Nattie
  • Ivy Nile
  • Michin
  • Shayna Baszler
  • Zoey Stark
  • Chelsea Green
  • WINNER: Raquel Rodriguez

Notable moments included Rodriguez eliminating many early on. Baszler and Stark teamed up to eliminate several. When Vega and Lopez were eliminated back-to-back they brawled on the ramp. Rodriguez thought she won after last eliminating Stark, but Green was never eliminated…until she was.

Later in the show, the six women for the Elimination Chamber match were involved in a promo. First, it started with Becky Lynch, then Liv Morgan. Rodriguez joined and said they are so focused on Rhea Ripley still being Women’s World Champion when it could be Nia Jax. And Rodriguez feels she is the only woman who can take them both out.

Naomi joined and said she has made a name for herself both in and out of a WWE ring. She is now going to climb to the top and become champion. Tiffany Stratton’s music hits with her stating that since Naomi has been gone she has now filled her spot. Lastly, Bianca Belair joins to state that she is the only woman out of the six who has won a chamber match and she will win again and go to Mania. Because you can’t spell WrestleMania without EST.

The women start to brawl as Jax appears to take them all out. Jax had a side by side interview with Ripley earlier in the night.

Five Years Of WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, Bayley Comments

It was Elimination Chamber 2019 where the first winners of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships were crowned inside the devastating steel structure. Six teams entered, but one emerged as the Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection became the inaugural champions.

Since then, there has been a lot of ups and downs with the titles. There has even been a time they were off TV after Sasha Banks and Naomi left the company in 2022. But overall in five years there have been 19 teams and 30 total women who have held the gold.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler hold the longest of any team at 215 combined days with two reigns, however, the current champions, The Kabuki Warriors, are at 201 days and counting. Baszler holds the longest individual combined reign at 247, but will be overtaken by Asuka (245 and counting).

Bayley comments on the five year anniversary.
