Roxanne Perez vs. Lyra Valkyria Set For Vengeance Day

0

Roxanne Perez wins the number one contender Battle Royal/Fatal Four Way to challenge Lyra Valkyria at Vengeance Day. The event is set to take place on Feb. 4.

The field was stacked with 20 women all wanting to become number one contender. This included the debut of Madi Wrenkowski, now known as Wren Sinclair.

The order of the eliminations were as follows:

  • Jakara Jackson
  • Adriana Rizzo
  • Jaida Parker
  • Stevie Turner
  • Brinley Reece
  • Elektra Lopez
  • Lola Vice
  • Gigi Dolin
  • Blair Davenport
  • Tatum Paxley
  • Karmen Petrovic
  • Arianna Grace
  • Thea Hail
  • Izzi Dame
  • Lash Legend
  • Wren Sinclair

The match then turned into a Fatal Four-way which included Roxanne Perez, Kelani Jordan, Kiana James, and Fallon Henley.

Notable moments of the match included at the beginning, Jaida Parker and Adriana Rizzo brawled on the outside before being eliminated. Storyline there between OTM and The Family.

After eliminating Brinley Reece to help out Lola Vice, Elektra Lopez was shocked when Vice then eliminated her. Vice was then eliminated by Tatum Paxley. Vice and Lopez are seemingly done as a team as they brawled to the back.

Blair Davenport was eliminated by Karmen Petrovic who paid the price as Davenport knocked her out cold. She put Petrovic back in the ring who just laid there. This was until the opportunistic Arianna Grace picked her up and eliminated her.

Wren Sinclair had a huge elimination in that of Lash Legend.

The Fatal Four way was fantastic between the final four. Final moments had Kelani thinking she had the win as she went for the split legged moonsault onto Kiana but Izzi Dame return and pulled Kiana out of the way. This allowed Roxanne to hit Pop Rox on Kelani for the win.

Lyra Valkyria came our afterwards and exchanged glances with Perez as the show went off the air.

Next week, Valkyria and Perez will have a contract signing.

Elsewhere on this weeks show, Valkyria and Paxley defeated Vice and Lopez prior to the Battle Royal. Paxley took a hit for Valkyria which caused her to fall on Lopez for the win.

Lynch Says Ripley Might Be Better Than Her; Two Tag Team Matches On Raw

0

The eradicator and the Women’s World Chanpion Rhea Ripley took to the ring on the Jan. 15 Raw to claim her top spot.

Ripley says she is tired of people like Nia Jax running their mouths and claiming that it is their division. Ripley says this is her division which is why she has the championship. She then sends out a warning for anyone who wins the Rumble match to not waste it on her at WrestleMania because Mami is always on top.

Enter Becky Lynch.

Lynch makes her way into the ring and while she speaks the two circle around each other. The Man explains how both of them have had similar journeys. Both coming from foreign lands to become the best and top of the mountain. She says she holds one thing over Ripley and that is she has main evented WrestleMania, Ripley hasn’t. Sticking that knife in deep when Ripley and Charlotte Flair weren’t given the main event spot last year.

Lynch takes a moment and says that she believes Ripley may be better than her! So she will just have to win the Rumble (for a second time) and face Ripley at Mania. Ripley says there is one other person who wishes Lynch is going to win the Rumble and that is her.

Outside of this promo on Raw, two tag team matches took place.

The division is fighting to get a title shot and Chelsea Green complains to Adam Pearce that the referee last week wasn’t competent. That she clearly had the tag match won.

Pearce responds and says that she and Piper Niven would have to still earn another rematch by taking on Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. A promo was shown for LeRae and Hartwell saying 2024 will be their year and they will become champions.

LeRae would get the pin on Green to win the match.

To set up the next tag match, Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler were having words with the champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter backstage. Stark and Baszler seem to think they will be the next champions and end the party reign. The champs say the party isn’t over until they say it is. They will first defend against Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn on this Friday’s SmackDown. Nattie and Nox enter the segment and challenge Baszler and Stark to a rematch.

The match was won by Baszler who made Nattie tap out to the Kirifuda Clutch.

Baszler and Stark had some words with LeRae and Hartwell on Raw Talk.

Lastly, a match took place between Akira Tozawa w/ Maxxine Dupri vs. Ivar w/Valhalla. A match that could have easily been a mixed tag but wasn’t. However, it did get the women involved as Dupri distracted Ivar so that Tozawa won the match. Post match, Tozawa and Dupri celebrated but Valhalla took out Dupri! This also had Ivar finish off Tozawa with a splash.

Backstage, the Alpha Academy was trying to regroup as Ivy Nile was livid. She said she would go talk to Pearce. And next week we will have Ivy Nile vs. Valhalla.

Report: Cora Jade Injured With Torn ACL

0

Another ACL tear claims another victim. This time it is Cora Jade.

Jade who just recently returned from his last hiatus, tore her ACL over the weekend at a house show. It was during a match with Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title. Her injury was reported then, but Wrestling Observer is confirming the ACL tear.

ACL injuries normally take nine plus months to heal.

Cora’s ACL injury is just one of many women (in particular) who has gone down with this injury. Sol Ruca is still currently out with this in NXT and we have Charlotte Flair, Dakota Kai (her second), and Sonya Deville who currently are out as well.

Others who have returned from ACL injuries over the past couple of years are: Amari Miller, Nikkita Lyons, Tegan Nox, Nia Jax, Arianna Grace, Bayley, and Zoey Stark.

Xia Brookside Officially Signs With TNA

0

The former NXT UK and STARDOM talent Xia Brookside made her TNA debut in the Ultimate X match at Hard to Kill. She didn’t come out of that match with a win, but she does have a new home in TNA.

TNA officially acknowledged the new signing on their socials and official website.

Per Fightful Select, here are more details about Brookside’s new contract with TNA.

Xia Brookside is a TNA Knockout.

Brookside competed at TNA Hard to Kill in the Knockouts X-Division match, and by the end of the night, the company announced the WWE veteran had officially signed with the company. We can confirm that the two sides had been in talks for quite some time.

As far back as November, IMPACT/TNA and Brookside were in contact, and the company had extended an offer to bring her to the company. The deal was done before the PLE, so Hard to Kill was the first date on what we’re told is a three-year contract.

Jordynne Grace Becomes Three Time Knockouts Champion At Hard To Kill

Jordynne Grace is once again the TNA Knockouts World Champion as she defeated Trinity at Hard to Kill.

The match between the two women was hard hitting, with Grace taking a strong hold of the first half. Trinity picked up steam about half way through and applies the Starstruck submission on more than one occasion. The last try had Grace power up out of it and left Trinity trying ot hold on the ropes herself. Eventually a German Suplex by Grace broke the hold. Grace would hit the Juggernaut Driver for the win.

Ash by Elegance (Dana Brooke) was seen at ringside before, during, and clapping after the match. Grace showed appreciation to Trinity as she exited the ring as the new champ.

The KC’s To Defend Women’s Tag Team Titles On Jan. 19 SmackDown

Kayden Carter and Katana Chance are heading to SmackDown next week as they continue to be fighting champions. Their challengers? The Unholy Union of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

Chance & Carter recently won the titles to end 2023 from Piper Niven and Chelsea Green. The former champs had a rematch on Raw, but Chance & Carter retained.

This will be the first televised match for the Unholy Union since June when they lost the unification match of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles to Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey.

The duo have made an appearances since for NXT Halloween Havoc, dark matches, vignettes, and attacked the Kabuki Warriors during the Holiday Havoc match in December.

Decay Win TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles At Hard to Kill

0

Well it was nice of MK Ultra to hold the new Knockouts World Tag Team belts for a few hours as we have new champions. Decay returned at Hard to Kill to become new champions.

The Death Dollz are put away as Decay has returned. They are the new tag team champions after Havok picked up the win for her and Rosemary. Decay was pretty unstoppable in their returned including Havok kicking out at one to Slamovich’s Snowplow finisher.

This win ended the reign of MK Ultra at 182 days.

More results to come from Hard to Kill.

New TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title Belts Revealed

0

The last title belts to be officially changed over to TNA are the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles.

The new belts were given to the current champions of MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly). They have the red straps back much like the original tag titles. You can see Scott D’Amore presenting them in the video below.

We saw Luna and Threat being very much the powerhouses of the match. Luna shows off how much she brings as the newest Knockout signed to the division. Each Knockouts had time to shine throughout the match.

The final moments of the match had Luna, Steelz, and Shaw on the cables heading to unhook the X. Using the X as a weapon swinging it back and forth, Shaw knocking off first Luna and then Steelz. Shaw would be able to unhook the X and drop to the ring mat below winning the bout.

Shaw celebrated after the match.

TNA Hard to Kill Predictions: 01.13.24

0

IMPACT is finally back as TNA today as Hard to Kill takes place. There are two Knockouts matches on the card with the return of the Ultimate X match.

The matches are –

Trinity (c) vs. Jordynne Grace – Knockouts World Championship

Gisele Shaw vs. Xia Brookside vs. Jody Threat vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Dani Luma vs. Alisha Edwards – Ultimate X Match

PREDICTIONS

Ultimate X

COLBY: I’m thrilled to see the Knockouts are getting another Ultimate X match, and what better time and place than the return of TNA. I also like this field as it’s a good mix of three familiar Knockouts plus three relative newcomers including Xia Brookside’s debut. Tasha and Alisha obviously took part in the first one and will be able to lead the charge here, but I don’t think either of them are the likeliest of winners. While Dani Luna would be a good shout, I think Gisele Shaw has the best shot at winning. I just feel like 2024 is the year she finally wins a title.

WINNER: Gisele Shaw

NICK: I know a lot of people aren’t impress with this line up but it could be a breakout for half the women in this match. I still see it as a pretty good match waiting to happen. With names in it that likely won’t win, this is a prime time to boost up Gisele. So that’s my winner.

WINNER: Gisele Shaw

Knockouts World Title Match

COLBY: I’d like to complain about the lack of build here, but the match does write itself on spectacle alone. I’ve seen many fans sharing how hyped they are on social media and I have to agree. The result won’t be as predictable as we don’t know 100% yet what Trinity’s status is in wake of rumors she could be returning to WWE. While I wouldn’t mind her reign continuing on, I think it would be fitting for Jordynne to regain the title to kick off the new TNA era seeing as though she signed a new deal to the company. Plus, Jordynne has been looking for that true bit of redemption ever since losing the title in last year’s Hard To Kill main event.

WINNER: Jordynne Grace

NICK: I really think it depends on when Trinity is leaving. Regardless, I think she is going to retain here and the Ultimate X winner is gonna cash in quick.

WINNER: Trinity

Bayley Left With No Help From Damage CTRL On SmackDown

Just when we thought everyone was on the same page, the cracks are forming in Damage CTRL.

On the Jan. 12 episode of SmackDown, Bayley was taking on her familiar foe of Bianca Belair. There were moments during the match where the referee was checking on Bayley and Belair was a prime target for the rest of Damage CTRL to attack, and they simply didn’t. No help was given. Belair would eventually get the win off of the KOD.

In a backstage segment with Damage CTRL, Bayley is upset that no one had her back. Dakota Kai did some gaslighting in making Bayley think that they wanted her to do this Ll on her own. After all, she is going to have to win the Royal Rumble on her own according to Kai.

Elswhere on SmackDown a vignette was aired for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. They emphasized that they will be fighting champions and are coming to SmackDown.

She has been working with a few injuries but was seen being the Minion Overlord and instructing her minions in training. Rose surprised Athena by coming up behind her on the ring apron and the attack began.

Rose took out several trainees before Athena went for a kick. A powerbomb took Athena down as Rose went to find a door that she choke-slammed the champion through.

Elsewhere on this week’s ROH, Billie Starkz stakes her claim to the new ROH Women’s TV Title. There will be an upcoming tournament to determine who the inaugural champion will be, but Starkz is already calling it her title.
