Rhea Ripley Affirms That She Isn’t Overlooking Zoey Stark

0

On the Nov. 13 episode of Raw, Mami Rhea Ripley confirms that she isn’t spread too thin and that she isn’t overlooking her Survivor Series opponent – Zoey Stark.

Stark and Ripley stood face-to-face as Stark questioned whether or not Ripley was paying enough attention to her. With all that Ripley has going on by both being Women’s World Champion, and let’s face it…the leader of the Judgment Day, is she overlooking what Stark is capable of?

Ripley would quickly cut off that thought and inform Zoey she is certainly not overlooking her. In fact, she has been watching her since she was in NXT. And since she has been on Raw she has sent Trish Stratus packing and has a win over Becky Lynch! So Ripley knows that Stark is a future champion, but just not on Raw and not while Mami is always on top.

Ripley would eventually go to strike Stark from behind but Stark dumped her over the top rope. Stark went up top but decided to back down to end the segment.

Later in the night after a recap of Stark’s win in last week’s Battle Royal to become number one contender, she has some playful words with Shayna Baszler. Baszler ultimately wishes Stark luck before Raquel Rodriguez enters and does the same. Nia Jax joins and laughs at everyone giving their well wishes to Stark. Rodriguez steps up to Jax and the two will be having a match next week.

More Raw results to come.

Xia Li vs. Indi Hartwell Set For Nov. 13 Raw

0

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has made an announcement on social media that Xia Li will be taking on Indi Hartwell on this Monday’s Raw.

Li has been on a tear recently as she has taken out Candice LeRae, Becky Lynch, and even a security guard when she visited NXT this past week and confronted the NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria.

This is the second women’s match confirmed for Raw as Tegan Nox will also go one-on-one with Piper Niven.

Can Hartwell avenge her friend LeRae or will she be Li’s next victim? Check back in with Diva Dirt on Monday night to talk about Raw live.

Asuka Aligns Herself With Damage CTRL

Asuka turns on Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in the main event of the Nov. 10 episode of SmackDown. The Empress of Tomorrow found her best friendship was back and goes by the name of Kairi Sane.

Before we get to the main event six-woman tag team match, Bayley headed to the ring earlier in the night to address what took place at Crown Jewel. This was when Sane returned to help out IYO SKY to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. This happened without the knowledge of Bayley. Bayley concerned about this, asked SKY to join her in the ring. Following SKY to the ring was Dakota Kai and Sane.

Bayley still puzzled and cautious of why Sane is here, reminded everyone what took place over three years ago when Sane left WWE. The video played of Bayley beating up Sane causing her to leave WWE. Kai tried to diffuse the situation after SKY explained that Sane helped her retain and that was the end goal. Kai states that bringing in Sane was to take some weight off of Bayley and what she has been doing to help.

Sane took to the mic and said she respects Bayley as the leader and also forgives her for what happened in the past. They all hug it out despite Bayley explaining she is no longer a hugger.

Out comes Bianca Belair who states that she couldn’t have a fair fight against SKY one-on-one. She then had Charlotte Flair and Asuka come out who she says doesn’t like Damage CTRL either. From this the six-woman tag team match was booked for the main event.

The match itself ended in a no contest as chaos broke loose when Asuka refused to take the tag from Belair. Asuka sprayed the mist in the EST’a face and would have Sane, SKY, and Bayley join her in a group hug after all three seemed surprised by the turn.

Damage CTRL who has grown to five now, all hut Kai (who is still injured) led a beat down on bot Belair and Flair. This included Belair being on the receiving end of the insane elbow. Shotzi would run in to try and help Belair and Flair but the numbers game would be too much.

Damage CTRL stood tall to end the show.

Also on SmackDown, Zelina Vega showed her anger and resentment towards Santos Escobar who turned on Rey Mysterio.

During the Bobby Lashley vs. Carlito match, B-Fab was backstage watching on the monitors. Commentary made several notices of this. Eventually Ashante Thee Adonis would appear and took B-Fab’s attention away.

SmackDown Discussion Post: 11.10.23

The fall out from Crown Jewel continues as Kairi Sane returns to WWE. The advertised segment for tonight is that Bayley will address the future of Damage CTRL. Or what Bayley calls, “the current state.”

SmackDown Preview, Nov. 10: Kairi Sane Returns

Kairi Sane made her highly anticipated return to WWE last weekend at the Crown Jewel event. This return resulted in her assisting IYO SKY to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. This was a shock to Bayley who was on the verge of receiving a KOD by Bianca Belair.

WWE has stated that with Sane’s return, she will be addressing the future of Damage CTRL tonight.

Last week, Charlotte Flair and Shotzi defeated the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green and Piper Niven. They are said to now be getting a title match, but unknown when that will occur.

With Survivor Series WarGames on the horizon it becomes more clear that the women of SmackDown will likely get a WarGames match. Will we get that announced tonight?

Check in with Diva Dirt later tonight to discuss the show live.

Trish Stratus: “Eight-time Champ, That Sounds Good To Me”

0

WWE Hall of Famer and seven-time Women’s Champion Trish Stratus has had a very surprising 2023. Not only did she return for a match, but she had several and was able to do things that weren’t thought of when she started wrestling in the early 2000’s.

Despite returning for the majority of the year, Stratus was last seen in September when she was defeated by Becky Lynch at Payback in a steel cage match. While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Stratus would not say if she has wrapped up this return run, but did say getting gold once again would be great.

“When I embarked on the journey, I came back for WrestleMania, ‘Let’s do this little program.’ Suddenly, heel Trish had to come alive. Then, it just kept going and going. I got to do things I didn’t get to do, right? Ladder Match, Saudi Arabia, Cage Match. To be able to dip my toes into the current landscape and check boxes that I wasn’t able to check back in the day was pretty amazing. Yeah, I mean, I could become an eight-time champ. That sounds good to me. Why not?” (Fightful)

During her run, Stratus was able to also help boost Zoey Stark into a contender for the Women’s World Title. Stark recently fought for the title in a Fatal Five-way at Crown Jewel. She will face Rhea Ripley in a singles match for the gold at Survivor Series this month.

Fallon Henley Reportedly Listed On Concussion Protocol

According to a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Henley (along with Ricochet) is listed under the concussion protocol her last match. The report doesn’t state when exactly the concussion may have occurred.

Henley lost the match to Stratton as Stratton now qualifies for the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline on Dec. 9.

Tasha Steelz Pins Deonna Purrazzo On IMPACT; Sonny Kiss Appears

Team Adams has fallen apart.

In the opening match of IMPACT on November 9, former friends and brief tag team partners Deonna Purrazzo and Tasha Steelz went one-on-one.

Both women stayed evenly matched for the first few minutes until Steelz connected with a headscissors takedown before twerking in the ring. Purrazzo then took down the former champion to show off some of her own twerking.

Purrazzo avoided a cutter and then they kicked and clotheslined each other to both go down. Steelz managed to trap Purrazzo in her own Venus de Milo, but “The Virtuosa” slipped out and applied a fujiwara armbar. Things took a turn when Steelz raked Purrazzo’s eyes and then sent her into the ring post. After two cutters, Steelz pinned Purrazzo to cap off a competitive bout.

Later on, Jordynne Grace was interrupted backstage by Bully Ray, KiLynn King, and Steve Maclin. While King was upset that Grace was Call Your Shot, Maclin wanted to remind Bully that he still thinks he’s weak. As a result, Grace and Bully will team up next week to take on King and Maclin.

Next week’s show will also feature Sonny Kiss vs. Trinity for the first time ever following Kiss’ backstage interview with Gia Miller.

The Bunny (Allie) Removed From AEW.com Roster

AEW’s The Bunny has had her profile removed from the AEW.com roster.

The Bunny (who went by Allie in IMPACT and the start of her AEW career) was one of the original women to sign with AEW in 2019. She debuted at Fyter Fest in a winning match against Leva Bates. Since then she went on to have a darker character, The Bunny, as a valet/manager for the Butcher and the Blade tag team.

An injury occurred earlier this year for The Bunny which was diagnosed as an orbital bone injury. She returned in August and lost a match on Dynamite against Dr. Britt Baker. She would have one more match in September on Rampage where she was on the losing side with Anna Jay and Taya Valkyrie. They lost to Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Skye Blue.

The Bunny’s husband, The Blade, is still currently listed on the men’s roster. There are no further details right now on her status. More to come when available.

Mariah May Signs With AEW; Red Velvet Returns To Action

Mariah May is officially #AllElite.

During the November 8 episode of AEW Dynamite, RJ RJ City interviewed Mariah May as it was announced that she has officially signed with AEW. May noted that she’s excited to be in AEW and is a big fan of Toni Storm.

The 25-year-old is coming off of a successful run with STARDOM where she was a one-time Goddess of STARDOM Champion alongside Mina Shirakawa. Her last match for the promotion took place in September.

This week’s Dynamite also saw the in-ring return of Red Velvet as she took on Julia Hart in singles competition.

The match started with Hart outsmarting Velvet at each turn until Velvet trapped Hart in the corner with strikes to the midsection. After the break, Velvet continued her momentum with running double knees in the ropes. But in the end, Hart secured the victory after landing a huge moonsault off the top ropes.

Post-match, Julia applied Hartless to make Velvet tap until Skye Blue marched down to the ring. Skye and Hart stared each other down for a bit until Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale walked down. Hart then stared down Statlander before exiting.

It was also made official that Toni Storm will challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Full Gear. AEW had previously announced Storm would be in the title match, but Shida’s status as champion was solidified following her recent defenses. This will be a direct rematch from when Shida dethroned Storm on the 200th episode of Dynamite in August ahead of AEW All In.

As of this writing, a women’s match has not been officially announced for Rampage or Collision.

Tiffany Stratton Qualifies For The Iron Survivor Challenge

0

The first woman, out of five, has qualified for the Iron Survivor Challenge Match coming up at the Deadline premium live event on Dec. 9.

Tiffany Stratton defeated Fallon Henley on the Nov. 7 episode of NXT to punch her into the upcoming match. Stratton vs. Henley was originally planned last week, but due to a an attack by Stratton, it never took place. At the request of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley who is helping book the qualifying matches, chose Stratton vs. Henley for this week. Lita will be appearing next week (most likely on video), to announce her qualifying matches.

The final moments of the match has Henley moved out of the way from the Prettiest Moonsault Ever as she has had her knee targeted throughout the match. Stratton hits a chop block and this time hits the PME to get the victory.

After the victory, Stratton seems to be on the same page as Kiana James. They both feel they should be at the top and the likes of Roxanne Perez and Fallon Henley shouldn’t be getting in their way or be participating in the Iron Survivor Challenge.

A second match took place this week as the Women’s Breakout Tournament winner Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez teamed up to face Roxanne Perez and Kelani Jordan. The four women had a confrontation earlier in the night in the women’s locker room. Arianna Grace tried to put her two cents in but was constantly talked over and Karmen Petrovic was tired of hearing Grace talk at all.

The match had Perez and Jordan win with Jordan hitting the split legged moonsault and pinning Lopez. This was after Vice was neutralized on the outside by a suicide dive from Perez. Grace was at ringside in a directors chair watching the match after she wished all four women good luck. She then interrupted the ring announcer who was announcing the winner. This led to Petrovic coming out and taking out Grace telling her to shut up.

Other women we saw throughout the night was Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson helping out Noam Dar retain the NXT Hertiage Cup against Akira Tozawa with the Alpha Academy including Maxxine Dupri.

A moment were an NXT referee was speaking about the upcoming Von Wagner/Bron Breakker match had Ava in the background heading into Shawn Michaels office.

Performance Center trainee Anna Keefer was seen handing Jacy Jayne a letter for Andre Chase from The Family.

Xia Li Confronts Lyra Valkyria, Wants NXT Women’s Title Match

0

The newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria returned this week to greet the NXT Universe as a new champion.

Standing in the ring with a “you deserve it chant,” Valkyria addresses her win and gave a nod to her icon Becky Lynch whom she defeated for the gold.

Valkyria further commented on her main event win and credited the fans for making it feel like magic. As she continues to talk about a locker room full of competitors, Raw’s Xia Li makes her way down the steps of the crowd with security by her side trying to stop her. Valkyria wants her to join her in the ring.

As Li enters the ring, Valkyria asks her how she can help her. Li asks the newly crowned champion if she saw what she did to her hero Becky Lynch on Raw last night. For those who may need a refresher, Li took out Lynch with her roundhouse kick preventing her from entering the number one contender Battle Royal. This also banned Li from participating in it herself.

Valkyria said that the attack was purely because Lynch kept telling Li if she wants a championship she should go and win one. Li says she plans to take the NXT Women’s Title before taking out one of the security men. The two then stare down each other and exchange words with Valkyria holding the belt high.

A date for this match has not been announced at this time.

NXT Discussion Post: 11.07.23

The NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria returns tonight after taking last week off following her championship win. Will Lola Vice have anything to say to her after winning the Breakout Tournament and holding a championship contract?

The qualifying matches for the Iron Survivor Challenge Match start tonight as Tiffany Stratton takes on Fallon Henley. The Iron Survivor Challenge Match takes place at Deadline in December.

Zoey Stark Wins Battle Royal, Set To Face Rhea Ripley At Survivor Series

0

Zoey Stark wins the number one contenders Battle Royal on the Nov. 6 episode of Raw to earn a title opportunity. She will be facing Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship on Nov. 25 at Survivor Series.

Before the match, Becky Lynch was being interviewed about her participation in the Battle Royal. Nia Jax would sneak up behind her and the two exchanged words. Jax reminded Lynch that she punched her in the face and broke her nose all those years ago. To where The Man responded that she went on to main event WrestleMania while Jax got fired.

Stark outlasted 13 other women to win this match. It should have been 15, but as Becky Lynch was making her way down the ramp, Xia Li knocked her out with the roundhouse kick. Much like she did to Candice LeRae last week. This had Lynch taken out of the match and General Manager Adam Pearce removed Li from the match.

The match would be given plenty of time and showcased many women. This included the tag team work of Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, and the Raw in-ring official debut of Ivy Nile who eliminated both Carter and Chance.

The match would get down to a final five of Nile, Stark, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shayna Baszler. It would take Rodriguez, Baszler, and Stark to eliminate Jax. Nile was on the ring apron which angered Jax who pulled her off, eliminating Nile in the process. Rodriguez would be eliminated next as this left Stark and Baszler to slug it out on the ring apron. Finally Stark would get the win after Baszler had both feet touch the floor.

This match also had Tegan Nox return from her brief injury.

The order of elimination was –

Nikki Cross
Piper Niven
Maxxine Dupri
Kayden Carter
Katana Chance
Chelsea Green
Indi Hartwell
Nattie
Tegan Nox
Nia Jax
Ivy Nile
Raquel Rodriguez
Shayna Baszler

Winner: Zoey Stark

Moments later, Ripley was being interviewed and was confronted by Stark.

Tegan Nox vs. Piper Niven was confirmed for next week.

On tonight’s Raw, Nile made her in-ring debut in the number one contenders Battle Royal for a shot at Rhea Ripley’s Women’s World Champion. Nile would make it to the final four out of 14 competitors before being eliminated by Nia Jax who was eliminated right before her. She elimiated several women in the match including Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, and Natalya.

More Raw results to come.
