SmackDown Discussion Post: 09.08.23

A tag team match developing from last week’s affairs will take place tonight on SmackDown. We will have Shotzi and Charlotte Flair take on Bayley and the WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY. Last week, Shotzi defeated Bayley after a Flair interference.

Per WWE.com –

“The Queen” Charlotte Flair and Shotzi will join forces to take on WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY and Bayley of Damage CTRL.

SKY and Bayley have dominated the SmackDown landscape for months and their antics have drawn the ire of every Superstar, notably Shotzi and Flair.

The action reached a boiling point during the latest episode of SmackDown when The Alpha Female cost Bayley a win against Shotzi, necessitating a matchup between all four Superstars.

What will happen when Flair and Shotzi take on SKY and Bayley?

Athena Retains Against Allysin Kay On ROH TV Sept. 7

0

Athena remains the ROH Women’s World Champion after facing Allysin Kay this week on ROH TV. Athena was accompanied to the ring by Billie Starkz.

The finish had Athena hit the O-Face on the highly decorated veteran to get her victory. This lands Athena at 272 days and counting as champion. Post match, Athena demands that Starkz slam Kay’s head onto the title. Starkz refuses, and Athena does it anyway for herself. Athena calls Starkz weak and leaves her thinking about what she has done.

Athena is angered by Starkz leaving her hanging three times in a row and for all she has done for her.

Other results of the show included Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale defeating The Renegade Twins after Blue hit Code Blue. Kiera Hogan hits a swinging neck breaker bridging pin on Leila Grey to score her victory. And lastly, Leila Grey defeated Lady Frost with a cross face submission.

Velvet Sky Confirms Departure From NWA

0

Velvet Sky has wrapped up her time with NWA.

Sky has been with the company since March 2021 where she worked on commentary. She posted on her social media on Sept. 8 that going forward she will no longer be with NWA and wished everyone there the best and enjoyed her time there.

Sky has not wrestled since 2016 and she is a former two-time TNA Knockouts Champion and Knockouts Tag Team Champion. It is unknown what may be next for Sky but she will be appearing on the Sept. 9 tapings of IMPACT episode 1,000. She will be ringside to support Angelina Love during the 10-Knockout Tag Team bout.

Jade Cargill Says She Brought Eyes To AEW During Her TBS Title Reign

Jade Cargill became the inaugural TBS Champion in January 2022.

She went on to hold the gold for 508 days and have an undefeated streak to go along with it. Kris Statlander defeated her earlier this year in May.

Since Cargill’s loss, she has taken time off but continues to have interest in returning. In a recent interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, Cargill talked about her time as champion and how that brought new eyes to AEW.

“I did. I brought a lot of outside eyes to this company. You can never say that — I mean, a lot of people didn’t even know about AEW. The culture was not that familiar with AEW. Everybody’s familiar with WWE because it’s a fifty something year old company, so this new company that’s four or five years old, nobody knows about it unless you’re a hardcore wrestling fan. So my job is to bring those outside eyes to our company, our company is phenomenal, we’re something that you’ve never seen before. I’m something that you’ve never seen before and that’s my job.” (Fightful)

It is unknown when Cargill will return to the ring, but she does intend on going after the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Gail Kim Talks About Her Upcoming In-Ring Return For IMPACT 1,000

0

IMPACT Knockout Hall of Famer and former seven-time Knockouts Champion Gail Kim will be returning the ring for one match this weekend.

At IMPACT 1,000 which will be taped on Sept. 9, Kim will be teaming with Trinity, Awesome Kong, Jordynne Grace, and one more mystery member to face the team of Angelina Love, Savannah Evans, Gisele Shaw, Deonna Purrazzo and another mystery member.

Kim talked recently with Sports Illustrated where she expressed her excitement and nervousness for the upcoming match. This will be her first match since 2019 when she faced Tessa Blanchard. This will also be Kong’s first match since retiring as well.

“This is the greatest passion in my life. I can’t wait to get back in the ring. I’m nervous, but I’m really excited, too. Tagging with Trinity, that gives me goosebumps. This is a dream match, and there are still surprises to come. I couldn’t have asked for a better match. It’s a great reason to wrestle again,” Kim said.

Kim has continued to work as a producer for IMPACT and has been seen on screen from time to time. Most recently she was at ringside for the match at Emergence where Trinity retained against Deonna Purrazzo.

“I didn’t even expect myself to be back, but it’s a special occasion. I found out about a month ago, and I get to work with amazing people. It’s going to be a celebration, a reunion, and some nostalgia that wrestling fans will love.”

She continued,

“I saw Kong not too long ago at ODB’s wedding, and she looked grea.t She said she was ready to scratch that itch and get back in the ring. Here we are, my greatest rival is about to become my greatest partner,” Kim said.

Diva Dirt will provide any further news and results from IMPACT 1,000 as they come about.

Eddie Edwards Sends Trinity Through A Table 24 Hours Before Victory Road

This week’s episode of IMPACT was not only Episode #999, but it was also the go-home to Victory Road.

The show kicked off with Deonna Purrazzo battling Dani Luna for the first time ever. Luna was afforded lots of offense and showcased her powerhouse skills which included a wicked powerbomb.

Purrazzo made her comeback with the exploder suplex before Luna escaped Queen’s Gambit. Purrazzo pulled off the Side Russian Legsweep before trapping Luna in the fujiwara armbar for the victory.

Later on, Alisha Edwards (accompanied by Eddie) met Knockouts World Champion Trinity in the ring for a contract signing.

Alisha ran down Canadian accents and discussed how she’s been here for a long time. She decided she needed to change and finally has this title opportunity after winning last week’s battle royal. They both signed the contract, but Trinity remained silent until Alisha called her out.

Trinity said she couldn’t understand her “stupid” accent and admits she overlooked Alisha when she joined IMPACT. Eddie interjected, which led to Trinity pointing out that he turned his back on the company. After calling Eddie “Mr. Alisha,” Alisha threw her champagne in Trinity’s face.

All bets were off as Trinity removed her hoops, wiped her lashes off, and dragged Alisha across the table for a brawl. When Trinity attempted to put Alisha through the table, Eddie stopped her and instead put Trinity through the table with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Eddie and Alisha took off to end the segment.

In addition to Alisha vs. Trinity and Deonna Purrazzo vs. the returning Jordynne Grace, it’s now confirmed that MK Ultra will defend the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship against Gisele Shaw and Savannah Evans at Victory Road on Friday night.

Rhea Ripley Invites A Challenge Of Becky Lynch At WrestleMania 40

0

The Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley is expecting a big challenge for herself at WrestleMania 40.

Both women have come into contact with each over in the past year teasing a future feud amongst them. However, the trigger has yet to be pulled. Talking to India Today, Ripley said the following of a potential clash between herself and The Man at the upcoming biggest show of the year.

“I expect a huge challenge from the Man, Becky. She has definitely made her a name for herself in this company. She’s accomplished so much. She’s going down in history, as one of the best. And she will 110 percent be in the Hall of Fame one day. She really has made her own legacy. But like Becky, like Charlotte, like Sasha, like Bayley, like the Four horsewomen, they’ve all made a name for themselves. But at the end of the day, when you step in the ring with Mami, it’s a whole different sort of challenge. And if it were to be myself and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, you know, I invite that challenge. Like you said, we went one on one in NXT. And it there was no clear winner because it was A DQ because Shayna, Jessamyn and Marina just had to come down and ruin that for me when I was on the stride of my life.”

The two competitors have only had one singles match televised and that was back on NXT in 2019. That match ended in a no contest.

So, I would like to see what the outcome would be. I would love to step in the ring with her. I think it would be a great challenge. But at the same time, I feel like she doesn’t exactly know what Mami is capable of. And like what happened at WrestleMania 39, Charlotte underestimated me. She thought I was still the child that she wrestled at WrestleMania 36. I’m not. I’m a completely different animal. I’m a monster these days. I’m a nightmare. I’m an Eradicator. And it’s me and Becky. I’m just saying Mami is gonna end up on top, just like she always does. I mean, I’ve got quite a collection going. Uh, I think that if we had Becky to the list, I think everyone would be quite happy with that.”

Ripley last successfully defended her title against Raquel Rodriguez at Payback. They do battle again this coming Monday on Raw. She also faces Natalya at Superstar Spectacle in India. Lynch was scheduled for the show but couldn’t make it due to a passport issue. It is unknown if she would have been in the match against Ripley, Natalya, or someone else.

Knockouts World Title Contract Signing Set For Sept. 7

0

Tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling will have a contract signing for the Knockouts World Championship.

At Victory Road, which will take place tomorrow, Friday Sept 8, Trinity will defend the gold against Alisha Edwards. Edwards won a number one contender Battle Royal to earn this title shot. She recently has turned heel and this is her first televised championship match since she joined the company in 2017.

Also at Victory Road will be the return of Jordynne Grace who is taking in a familiar foe in that of Deonna Purrazzo.

Diva Dirt will have the results from Victory Road up after the show.

Statlander Retains; Four-Way To Determine Saraya’s Grand Slam Challenger

The September 6 episode of AEW Dynamite featured Emi Sakura vs. Kris Statlander for the TBS Championship in the second match of the night.

Sakura brought the aggression out of the gate with a crossbody in the ropes that knocked Statlander out of the ring. Sakura then followed it with another crossbody into the steel stairs.

Back in the ring, they traded chops before Sakura connected with a stalling backbreaker onto her knee for a nearfall. Sakura went up top, but Statlander chased after and placed her on her shoulders for a face plant. The TBS Champ then nailed a discus lariat and followed it with her signature piledriver to retain.

Renee Paquette had another amusing backstage interview with Toni Storm. It was revealed that Storm, Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, and Hikaru Shida will take part in a four-way bout to determine who will challenge AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya at Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 20.

We also know that Saraya and Ruby Soho are set to speak on this Saturday’s Collision.

Rhea Ripley Defends Against Natalya At Superstar Spectacle

0

On Sept. 8, WWE will be hosting the Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad, India. Just announced is the women’s event which will have Rhea Ripley defending the Women’s World Championship against Natalya.

These two women had a feud earlier in the reign of Ripley. They faced at Night of Champions as Ripley dominated in a quick victory before the match could take off. The two would have an intense rematch in July where Ripley retained.

Thea Hail Defeats Gigi Dolin As She Continues Down A New Path

0

We may still have the Chase U graphics, but it is only a matter of time before Thea Hail has moved past her college years.

Jacy Jayne continues to influence Hail and on the Sept. 5 episode of NXT, Hail moved forward with a new look. This prompted Gigi Dolin to say a few words backstage and Blair Davenport came in to share some of her own. Dolin would then take on Hail later in the night.

Hail picked up the big win over Dolin with Jayne at ringside. But it wasn’t Dolin’s former Toxic Attraction partner that sealed the deal, it was Davenport. Davenport took out Dolin at ringside which had Hail lock in the Kimura back in the ring to secure a victory.

Elsewhere on the show, we had Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez talking in the women’s locker room. Kiana James came in angry about her loss to Stratton at the start of the show. This led to a brawl between James and Perez.

Valkyria was later seen talking to Kelani Jordan. Jordan was upset over her defeat last week with Dana Brooke. Brooke appeared and told Valkyria to leave and to stop putting bad thoughts in Jordan’s head. Valkyria and Brooke are booked for next week.

Also next week will be the return of Becky Lynch to NXT as she takes on Tiffany Stratton in the main event for the championship. You can read more on that here.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Becky Lynch Set For NXT Sept. 12 Main Event

0

Becky Lynch is heading back to NXT!

On the Sept. 5 episode, the NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton kicked off the show with a bang. She successfully defended her title against Kiana James.

During the fast paced match, James hit the 401K but shocking to her, the champ kicked out. Stratton later went for James’ bag trying to use it as a weapon. This didn’t help her, but moments later when the referee wasn’t looking, Stratton was able to rake the eyes of James. Stratton hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to retain.

After the match, The Man Becky Lynch appeared on the screen. She talked about what is next for her and that is to capture the one championship she hasn’t. Lynch challenged Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship next week in the main event.

Can Lynch become a Grand Slam Champion and defeat Stratton next week?

NXT Discussion Post: 09.05.23

0

Tonight’s NXT has the gold on the line as Tiffany Stratton defends against Kiana James. James won the number one contender spot from a Fatal Four-way from last week. That match also included Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin, and Blair Davenport.

Outside of defending against James, Stratton has had a recent run-in with Becky Lynch at Payback. Will we see Lynch show up tonight?

Enjoy.

Bayley Talks Possible WrestleMania Matches She Wants In Her Career

0

Bayley is already one of the most decorated women in WWE history. With becoming the first-ever Women’s Grand Slam Champion back in 2019, Bayley has done a lot in her career. Without a doubt a future Hall of Famer, Bayley has also won big matches such as Money in the Bank. But what about WrestleMania moments?

In a recent interview with The Comeback, Bayley mentions what she would love to do at future WrestleManias. One idea is to have all three members of Damage CTRL in a Triple Threat for the championship.

“I really have been trying to reflect on what I want personally out of what I want my legacy to be. After the Bray Wyatt tribute show, I felt I really needed to figure it out. I’m working on my legacy every day and every single week. Sometimes, you get lost in the shuffle or the travel and the busy schedule, that at least me personally, I kind of lose sight of what the bigger picture is. And what I’m trying to do.

I wanna make sure that I’m cementing my legacy, and that goes for Damage CTRL too. IYO, I want her to have the best title run of all-time. Dakota should get a title shot. All of us end up at WrestleMania in a Triple Threat for the title as best friends? I’m fine with that too. Let’s put that in the universe (she laughed). I just want to continue to cement a legacy and be able to still inspire the fans and have a connection that I’ve had since day one. And watch us all grow every day.”

She continues on the same topic saying she never has had that big singles match on that stage either.

“This business moves so fast, it’s like, onto the next thing. I think this is something I’ve heard from John Cena, or maybe he got it from somewhere else, ‘You’re only as good as your last match.’ To me, with our wrestling fans’ minds, we have short-term memories. So when I do these things, I reflect a little; now I have a live event this big. ‘Ah, damn…’ or, you get to a TV, and things change, and the story changes, and you feel like crap.

So you move back up and down. A rollercoaster of emotions of things. Being proud of things. In the moment, I still feel like, right at this moment, on this day, I feel really hungry to do more. Last night, I thought about, I haven’t had a singles match on a pay-per-view in a while, and I want a singles match at WrestleMania, and so many things I want.”

Bayley has performed at WrestleMania six times and the last time was this year in a six-woman tag match.

Lash Legend Calls Bianca Belair A Great Example, Wants To Exceed Her Path

0

NXT Superstar Lash Legend wants to follow and exceed in the footsteps of one of WWE’s biggest stars – Bianca Belair.

While speaking to Steve Fall of Ten Count Media, Legend talks Belair and how she has set such an example that many of the women in NXT have been watching.

“It’s amazing. First of all, she’s a great example. She’s making history. She already made history. So she’s definitely somebody that a lot of us aspire to and are inspired to be, and just want to follow that path of Bianca Belair. I think that’s a great example. I feel like a lot of us like [Kelani Jordan] and myself, all of us will exceed that path as well.

Legend has currently found her hone in the stable known as Meta-Four. This also includes Jakara Jackson.

As for Kelani Jordan that Legend mentioned, she has been working with Dana Brooke.

Dakota Kai Says She Will Likely Return To The Ring In January 2024

0

Dakota Kai has been sidelined with an ACL injury since May. Kai has still been on TV since IYO SKY won the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract. She was injured in the same match Liv Morgan was during a tag team bout on an episode of SmackDown.

While on her Twitch stream, Kai says she hopes to be back in the ring come January.

“Probably 2024. I do think it’s funny that a lot of people are like, ‘she’s not injured at all. Look at her walking around.’ ACL injury, I haven’t even learned how to start running and jumping again yet. I think I’m going to start running this week. ACL recovery, especially for someone in sport, we use our legs a lot. If I were a desk worker, I’d be back at work. Because it’s wrestling, I won’t be cleared until January,” she said.

Kai suffered an ACL injury earlier in her WWE career back in late 2018. This happened at an NXT live event.

The Damage CTRL member is a multi-time Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Victoria Responds To Homage Given At WWE Payback

0

Former WWE Diva Victoria stays humble and honored for the homage that took place at WWE Payback.

In a match that kicked off the show with a bang, Trish Stratus took on Becky Lynch in a steel cage match. There was a spot in the match that both women paid homage to the first-ever women’s cage match in WWE which was between Victoria and Lita. Stratus did Victoria’s infamous Widows Peak while Lynch did Lita’s Twist of Fate.

Victoria left a video response on her social media. You can view below for her reaction!

Ripley vs. Rodriguez Rematch Set For Sept. 11

0

Raquel Rodriguez called out a rematch for the Women’s World Championship on this week’s Raw.

At Payback, Rodriguez challenged Rhea Ripley for the championship but that night was Judgment Day’s night. Ripley retained but with the help of Dominik Mysterio. Now, Rodriguez will take on Ripley next week on Sept. 11 with Dominik banned from ringside.

Rodriguez confirmed this rematch after she made short work of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green. Green was booked in a singles match due to her tag team partner Piper Niven not being medically cleared to compete. Rodriguez picked up the win off the Tejana Bomb.

Also on Raw this week, Zoey Stark took on Shayna Baszler. Before the match took place, Stark was being interviewed at what happened at Payback and the seemingly end of her partnership with Trish Stratus. Baszler interrupted and said Stark should have dumped that dead weight long ago. Stark then challenged Baszler to a match.

Baszler would go on to win this match but the tenacity and guts Stark showed impressed Baszler. After getting in the Kirifuda Clutch locked in, Stark fought her way out of it twice before the referee called for the bell on the third time. Stark did not tap.

Backstage News On Piper Niven Not Being Cleared To Compete

0

On the Sept. 4 episode of Monday Night Raw, Adam Pearce stated that one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Piper Niven was unable to compete. He stated she wasn’t cleared.

This news seemingly couldn’t come at a worse time as Chelsea Green had just lost her previous partner Sonya Deville to an ACL injury. Luckily though, Niven will be back shortly.

According to Fightful Select, Niven will return hopefully shortly. Per WWE she is dealing with a short-term illness and will likely be back in a week or two as long as she continues to get better at her current rate. There are no plans to vacate the title or give Green yet another partner.

The fear of the Women’s Tag Team curse can go on the back burner.

Green took on Raquel Rodriguez this week in a losing effort.

Raw Discussion Post: 09.04.23

0

Tonight’s Raw is the fall out from Payback.

We have Becky Lynch who defeated Trish Stratus in a steel cage match. It is unknown if Stratus will continue on at this time. It seems that Lynch will be heading to NXT to fight Tiffany Stratton next.

Rhea Ripley retained the Women’s World Title after defeating Raquel Rodriguez with Dominik’s help.

There is currently nothing confirmed for the women tonight.

Statlander Retains At All Out; CJ Perry Makes AEW Debut

AEW’s All Out took place over the weekend on Sunday night. On the card was a trios match on the pre show while Kris Statlander defended the TBS Championship against Ruby Soho on the main card.

Statlander pulled out a win to retain but it wasn’t for lack of trying by Soho. In fact, she came nearly close to winning the gold. The Outcasts continue to spiral downward as the AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya was at ringside to help Soho. But Toni Storm would emerge to cause the distraction. Statlander had previously kicked out of both Destination Unknown and the No Future. She would end the match with a Sunday Night Fever for the win.

On the pre show it was Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale, and Hikaru Shida vs. Diamante, Mercedes Martinez, and the ROH Women’s World Champion Athena. Blue won for her team off of a Code Blue on Diamante.

CJ Perry, formerly Lana in WWE, made her AEW debut. She came down to the ring after her husband, Miro’s, match. He was facing Powerhouse Hobbs.

After the match, Hobbs and Miro shook hands but Hobbs attacked Miro. Perry made the save, hitting Hobbs with a chair but Hobbs did not go down. Miro hit Hobbs with a chairshot of his own.

Miro looked at Perry, but walked away, saying, “You’re not real.”

Lynch Puts An End To Stratus Rivalry Inside A Steel Cage At Payback

0

The latest WWE premium live event, Payback, kicked off with a huge steel cage match between two generational legends. In what may are considering a match of the year candidate, Becky Lynch would close the chapter with Trish Stratus with a victory inside of a steel cage.

The match was a huge back and forth battle that left both women with bumps and bruises. They battled all over the ring, on top of the ring, and from the top rope. This includes a superplex from the top of the cage from Lynch on Stratus.

We also received the two in this match paying homage to the first women’s steel cage match between Victoria and Lita from 20 years ago. Stratus delivered the Widows Peak while Lynch responded moments later with a Twist of Fate.

The final moments of the match had Lynch trying to escape the cage from the top while Stratus trues to crawl out the cage door. Lynch noticing Stratus could win quicker she came down from the cage to pull Stratus further back inside. Zoey Stark appeared and both Lynch and Stark play tug of war with Stratus. Eventually Lynch benefits until Stark slams the door in her face.

Back in the cage, Lynch hits the ManHandle Slam on Stratus after a missed Chick Kick. Stark enters the cage and breaks up the pin at two. Stratus tries to escape by climbing the cage once again. After a ManHandle Slam to Stark, Lynch executes one to Stratus from the top rope to get the victory.

Post match, Lynch leaves the cage. Stark and Stratus argue which leaders to the teacher slapping the student. Stark closes the door to the cage and leaves Stratus laid out on the mat after delivering a Z360.

During this match, the NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton was in the crowd. Later in the night, Lynch was getting interviewed before Stratton interrupted. Stratton says she wanted to apologize in person for saying Lynch was a former NXT Women’s Champion. Lynch reminds Stratton she has a title match against Kiana James this Tuesday but says she will see her soon.

The second women’s match at Payback was between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s World Championship. We saw Ripley earlier in the night when she speared Kevin Owens through the time keeper area during the men’s tag team title match. That match had new champions in that of Finn Balor and Damian Priest. This means all of Judgment Day now has gold.

Back to the women’s match, Ripley dominated first part of the match but Rodriguez would pick up most of the back half. That is until Ripley started targeting the previously injured knee of Rodriguez. It would be Dominik Mysterio as the distraction that cost Rodriguez the match. Ripley wins with Riptide.

Trios Match Added For AEW All Out Zero Hour

The AEW All Out event will have a women’s match on its Zero Hour pre show. It will be a trios match which will consist of the ROH Women’s World Champion Athena teaming up with Mercedes Martinez and Diamante. They will be taking on the team of Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale and Hikaru Shida.

This match is the second of the event as it was previously confirmed that on the main card TBS Champion Kris Statlander will defend against Ruby Soho.

There was a a different trios match heading into All Out at Collision on Saturday night. This had all three members of The Outcasts including the new AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya taking on Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, and Kris Statlander. The Outcasts would emerge victorious giving Soho an edge heading into her match against Statlander this Sunday.

Women’s World Title

Feel free to talk about the show below.

WWE Payback Predictions: 09.02.23

0

WWE’s next premium live event takes place tonight. Payback has returned and there are two women’s matches set to take place. First, we will see the Women’s World Championship defended as Raquel Rodriguez challenges Rhea Ripley. Second will be the end of a rivalry in a steel cage. Becky Lynch takes on Trish Stratus.

Below you can see the Diva Dirt staffs predictions:

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez Women’s World Championship

COLBY – Well, it’s about time Rhea Ripley gets another PLE title defense. I barely count the squash at Night of Champions, and Zelina Vega did her best to not get squashed at Backlash back in May. So, here’s hoping Raquel gets at least 10 minutes so that these two can run back some of the chemistry they displayed together in NXT. Ripley’s reign is unlikely to end anytime soon, but I’m begging for WWE to let Raquel show us that she is as strong and dominant like they say she is.

WINNER: Rhea Ripley

NICK – Unlike many fans, I love what Ripley has been doing. Now, the booking is another story with leaving her off events such as SummerSlam when she is one of the biggest draws right now. I don’t see the belt leaving her just yet. I think Raquel needs a bit more time to cook on main roster before being given the belt, or at least she should be on top as a monster heel instead of her current smiley gimmick. But if Raquel were to win, her vs. Liv when she comes back would be fun also. But for now I think Ripley keeps it.

WINNER: Rhea Ripley

Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus – Steel Cage

COLBY – I think a lot of fans are in agreement that this feud has gone on a tad bit long unfortunately. And it’s not because of those involved, but booking woes have done them no favors. Negativity out of the way, I’m stoked to see Stratus check off another bucket list item by taking part in a steel cage match. Plus, Becky is creating a solid portfolio for herself with previous cage matches against Alexa Bliss and Bayley. It doesn’t seem like Stratus is departing again — if a recent interview was any indication — but I believe Becky will win and re-enter the title picture imminently.

WINNER: Becky Lynch

NICK – Another feud that has been affected by poor booking decisions, however, we got here. Stratus has been getting a lot of what she has been wanting – MITB match and now a cage match. So that’s what has come out positive about this feud. There will like still be some interference by Zoey somehow in this match I am sure. And based off that Falls Count Anywhere it won’t be to Trish’s favor. I will have Becky winning here and then hopefully (for me at least) go on to face Tiffany would be fun.

WINNER: Becky Lynch

Check back in with Diva Dirt to talk about this show live tonight.

Shotzi Gets Revenge On Bayley, Tag Team Match Set For Next Week

Shotzi gets her revenge on Bayley on this weeks SmackDown. From several weeks ago when Bayley cut the hair of Shotzi, to her taking matters in her own hands and shaving off her hair, the two met in the ring. Dakota Kai and WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY were at ringside.

Shotzi did a good job on offense early in the match. Bayley went for a Bayley to Belly but Shotzi countered and hit a cannonball in the corner. When she went up to to perhaps put Bayley away, SKY caused the distraction. Bayley then asked SKY for the title belt to use as a weapon when Charlotte Flair’s music hit.

Flair delivered a big boot to SKY and tossed her into the barricade before jumping on the ring apron. Meanwhile on the other side of the ring, Kai attempted to get a punch in on Shotzi in the corner as the referee stopped it. This allowed Flair to get a hit on Bayley.

Shotzi planted Bayley for the victory. Next week, Shotzi and Flair will team up to face SKY and Bayley.

On NXT Level Up after SmackDown this week, Stevie Turner returned to TV for the first time since January and defeated Valentina Feroz.
