Britt Baker Qualifies For AEW All In Women’s Title Match

The August 16 episode of AEW Dynamite saw two AEW originals in Britt Baker and The Bunny compete to fill the final spot in the AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In.

It marked The Bunny’s first match back since February, while Penelope Ford was also at ringside. After The Bunny dominated during the commercial break, Baker came back and hit a spinning neckbreaker for a nearfall. Britt then pulled out her signature glove, but Ford grabbed it from her. After Ford was knocked off the apron, Baker superkicked and then stomped Bunny to score the pinfall win.

Hikaru Shida will now defend her AEW Women’s title against Baker, Toni Storm, and Saraya at Wembley Stadium on August 27.

As of this writing, AEW has not announced any new matches for Friday’s Rampage or Saturday’s Collision.

Deonna Purrazzo Answers If She Would Ever Return To WWE

The former three-time IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Deonna Purrazzo has evolved tremendously during her time with the company. Being released by WWE in 2020 without ever showing her true potential, Purrazzo has had many memorable matches and moments in the past few years.

In a recent interview with Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps, Purrazzo was ask if given the change would she return to WWE. Purrazzo has been open about her past gripes with the company, but her answer said it would depend on the circumstance.

“I don’t wanna say no (about a return to WWE) and I want to say yes but I also think that it’s kind of the circumstance of it. I think I’m in a place where I’ve done a lot of partial rehabilitation to my career in the last three years.

I’ve been able to turn the tide of what people say about me in the conversations I’m in and submit my place in history and unfortunately, my first time in NXT and WWE did a lot of damage to that and so I think for me, it’s more about being cautious about maybe the situation I would be put in or something like that but I don’t wanna take it off the table because it is WWE and as a kid, I didn’t know any other wrestling.

My dream was to become a WWE superstar and my dream has evolved many times over during my career, but I think at the end of the day, it’s like, that’s something I’m gonna want to hold onto and say yes to. But I need to learn from my mistakes and do it differently if I was going to.” (POST Wrestling)

Purrazzo is also a former Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. She held that gold with her best friend Chelsea Green as a tag team known as VXT. Green has since returned to WWE and is currently a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion along with Piper Niven (won originally by Sonya Deville).

Mixed Tag Team Match Plus Ava vs. Ivy Nile Set For Heatwave

0

Next week is NXT Heatwave and two matches have been added to the card. First there will be a Mixed Tag Team match between Rhea Ripley And Dominik Mysterio vs. Lyra Valkyria And Dragon Lee. This match has developed since Valkyria helped Dragon Lee last week after his defeat against Mysterio and went after Ripley. Ripley and Mysterio challenged Valkyria and Lee and the match is set.

Also set for next week’s Heatwave episode is Ava taking on Ivy Nile. On the Aug. 15 episode, Nile along with two of the masked Schism fans (presumably The Creed Brothers) assisted Tony D’Angelo and Stacks to retain their tag team titles against the Dyad. Ava is done playing games with Nile and wants her one-on-one next week.

Two matches took place on this week’s NXT. Dana Brooke took on Blair Davenport continuing to show her more ruthless side. Kelani Jordan was by her mentors side. Davenport came out with the victory over Brooke and after the match Brooke didn’t look happy with Jordan trying to console her.

The other match was developed by Andre Chase as he got a match for Thea Hail taking on Jacy Jayne. Hail hasn’t been getting along with the leader of Chase U ever since towel gate happened. Hail ended up losing this match yet again thanks to the misjudgment of Chase.

Lastly, there was a video package for the NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. Stratton promises that she will return next week at Heatwave.

Kamille Reaches 800 Days As NWA World Women’s Champion

0

Kamille has reached 800 days as NWA World Women’s Champion.

The champion won the gold in June 2021 after defeating Serena Deeb at the When Our Shadows Fall event. Over the past two plus years, Kamille has gone on to successfully defend against names such as Angelina Love, Chelsea Green, Flammer, Allysin Kay, Natalia Markova, KiLynn King, Max the Impaler, Taya Valkyrie, Kylie Rae, Melina, and more.

Kamille is set to defend the title against Natalia Markova at NWA 75 on Aug. 26 in a No Limits Match. If she retains, then she will face the winner of the Burke Invitational Gauntlet Match on the next night.

The names so far listed for the Burke Invitational Gauntlet match are: Allysin Kay vs. CJ vs. Heather Monroe vs. MJ Jenkins vs. Ruthie Jay vs. Samantha Starr vs. Sierra vs. Taylor Rising vs. The WOAD.

At 800 days, Kamille is sitting 5th at total combined reigns for this prestigious title of all time. She sits behind MsChif and Jazz with time historically correct while Debbie Combs and the Fabulous Moolah are in the top two spots (full length of reigns uncertain).

Kamille just surpassed June Byers reign (760 days). She will be playing the role of Byers in the upcoming film Queen of the Ring. The film will also star Toni Storm, and Trinity (Naomi). It was previously reported that Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan achieved roles but they are now being played by Kamille and Storm.

Huge congratulations to Kamille on her title reign.

Lacey Evans Seemingly Finished With WWE

0

It appears that Lacey Evans may be finished with WWE.

On her social media, Evans has changed her name to her real name Macey Estrella. She also has “FKA WWE Superstar Lacey Evans” in her bio. Her handle is no longer WWE associated as it is LimitlessMacey. She has has provided the following posts on X.

And on her Instagram she posted –

Evans debuted for WWE back in 2016 as part of its NXT brand. Before that she wrestled on the indies since 2014. Her last on-screen match was in June against Charlotte Flair in a losing effort.

Her departure has not been confirmed by WWE at this time.

NXT Discussion Post: 08.15.23

After Kelani Jordan lost to Blair Davenport last week, Dana Brooke continued to show her bad side by going after Davenport with a belt. She also almost lost her cool and went after Jordan but stopped herself which caught the protege off guard.

Tonight, Brooke gets a shot at Davenport one-on-one.

Stratus vs. Lynch Brawl To End In Double Count Out, Steel Cage Up Next

0

Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch round two was finally happening on this week’s Raw.

The feud that has lasted months since Stratus turned on Lynch resulted in The Man salivating over a rematch. Their first encounter had Stratus go over with the win at Night of Champions back in May. This win was thanks to Zoey Stark who emerged as Stratus’ new protege. This time, Stark was banned from ringside.

The match was given solid time and even had some nostalgia as Stratus went to hit Lynch in the face with her face mask. This was the same spot that Stratus did to Lita in their Raw main event in 2004. This time, however, Lynch was ready for it.

Eventually, the match would break down to the outside as Stratus tried to escape over the barricade and into the crowd. Lynch followed and the two would be counted out resulting in no winner of the match.

This didn’t stop them as the women brawled up the steps of the arena and up to the concession and merchandise area. After using merch as a weapon against Lynch, Lynch would get Stratus on top of the merch table. Perhaps thinking of going for the ManHandle Slam.

An individual appeared to assist Stratus and it would be of course, Zoey Stark. The two-on-one was too much for Lynch as a Chick Kick leveled her on the ground to end the segment.

Adam Pearce found Stratus and Stark after the match and he wasn’t happy about the result. He said next time Stratus and Lynch get in the ring it will be in a Steel Cage!

Elsewhere on Raw, Indi Hartwell took on the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley in a non-title bout. Prior to the match was a nice video package to further introduce Hartwell to the Raw crowd. Hartwell was also seen preparing for her match in the women’s locker room alongside Candice LeRae and Raquel Rodriguez. Rodriguez still wants Ripley but has to wait until her injury heals.

As for the match, Hartwell got a decent bit of offense in and even a near fall towards the end of the match. But Ripley delivered a massive headbutt followed by Riptide to secure the victory. Ripley did go after LeRae during the match which cause LeRae to jump Ripley post match. Hartwell joined in on the attack. Both LeRae and Hartwell ran after the post attack as Dominik Mysterio came in to save Mami.

Maxxine Dupri continues to jot tolerate Ludwig Kaiser’s advances with a slap.

Piper Niven Returns To Raw, Becomes Chelsea Green’s Tag Team Partner

Piper Niven has made her return to Raw for the first time since April and she has demanded to be Chelsea Green’s tag team partner.

Green was in Adam Pearce’s office about to hear the fate of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships now that Sonya Deville is out with an injury. Pearce was clearly about to make Green relinquish the titles before she explained she has worked so hard to get the gold. She threatened to go to his boss or HR if he did so.

Green suggested she hold auditions for a new partner by putting on Chelsea’s Got Talent. Green and Pearce were interrupted by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. They said once Green finds a partner they want a shot at the tag titles. Niven returned with an attack to Chance before declaring herself Green’s partner and thus champion.

Green tried to object and have Niven put her name on the list to try out but Niven wasn’t having it.

Raw Discussion Post: 08.14.23

Tonight’s Raw will see the match we should have seen at SummerSlam as Becky Lynch gets her rematch against Trish Stratus. Zoey Stark will be banned from ringside for this bout.

What can be followed up on this week includes Raquel Rodriguez seeking revenge on the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. Last week Rodriguez was instructed to wait until her injury healed but that didn’t stop her from attacking the champion. Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae did their best to help out their friend as well.

With Sonya Deville now injured, it is just Chelsea Green as the Women’s Tag Team Champion. She has been holding auditions throughout the weekend and even talked it up with Tomasso Ciampa before Raw tonight. Ciampa just kept talking about Johnny Gargano so it doesn’t seem as though he will make a good partner for Green.

Hopefully we see more of this tonight.

Asuka Says The Media Hates Her In Japan, STARDOM Was Created To Defeat Her

0

The former WWE Women’s Champion has been very outspoken on social media over the past day as she comments to a fan about how the Japanese media still hates her. Also adding that she does not flatter them, which is why they hate her.

In the first post on her social media she states –

“I don’t flatter anyone. Even in Japan, the media hated me because I don’t flatter the media. In Japan, everyone was flirting with the media except me. I fought the media alone to take care of my fans. That’s why some of the Japanese media still hate me. That’s why I’ve always been a freelancer. And Everyone in Japan knows I am anti-Joshi Pro. Always.”

She continues in a thread adding in that STARDOM was an organization to destroy her personally. Asuka adds that they failed as she had gone to America and flourished.

“The former editor-in-chief of Pro Wrestling Weekly has made this point on several occasions. That is, Stardom is an organization that was created to defeat me. It is an organization that was created to destroy me personally. But they failed to defeat me. I don’t know what happened to them after that because I came to America.”

“The media could not bring me down when I came to America. They must have really wanted me to fail. I am used to it because I have been fighting my critics alone since my days in Japan. But now that I am here, I have comrades in arms. Charlotte, Becky, HHH and… I’ve walked alone in the wilderness all my life, and here I have an oasis. To the Asuka antis, I say, beat me up on the Internet all you want. I grab everything.”

She rounds out her series of posts –

Asuka has been highly successful in WWE. She is a grand slam champion and has held the WWE (Raw) Women’s Championship three times, SmackDown Women’s Championship, Women’s Tag Team Championships three times, and the NXT Women’s Championship.

Asuka has also won the Money in the Bank and Royal Rumble. She had an undefeated streak for 914-days.

Giulia Heading To Multiverse United, Answers Purrazzo And Shaw’s Challenge

Looks like we are finally getting the women’s match for Multiverse United 2 is developing. It will be for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship as Giulia has seemingly accepted the challenge from both Deonna Purrazzo and Gisele Shaw of IMPACT. The event is a crossover between NJPW and IMPACT.

During the recent STARDOM x STARDOM 2023 event, a video promo was shown of both Purrazzo and Shaw who issued a challenge to Giulia to defend her title at Multiverse United 2. Giulia’s response, “Can I really call myself the top female wrestler? I’ve always wanted to compete with someone different from those big, strong power fighters. That’s why I’m going to America next.”

Giulia later confirmed she will be in Philadelphia for the event which takes place on Aug. 20. The match hasn’t been formally announced. Previously it had been suggested it would be a Four Way match. Momo Kohgo is said to be following Giulia over.

Giulia became champion after defeating Willow Nightingale in July.

DD Power 15: Aug. 06 to Aug. 12

0

Welcome to this week’s Power 15 Rankings curated by us here at Diva-Dirt. This week we are reviewing women’s action across several companies.

As well as the 15 women featured, two wildcards will be featured each week chosen by Nick and Gary. These wildcards are for women who didn’t quite make the ranking but are ones to watch for the week ahead. Without further ado, let’s get in to it.

Please Note: This list is subjective to us at Diva Dirt. We encourage our readers for respectful and enjoyable conversations.

Gary’s Wildcard – Karmen Petrovic

We are seeing more and more new stars showing up on NXT LvL Up recently such as Kelani Jordan, Izzi Dame and also, Karmen Petrovic.

I’m picking Karmen as my wildcard due to her recent audition (and endorsement) from Chelsea in her search for a new tag team partner.

All three NXT rookies listed above are incredibly impressive with unique in-ring styles and flair. Seeing what they will all do next is one of the many reasons we all should be tuning in to LvL Up each week.

Nick’s Wildcard – Chelsea Green

Despite the loss of her partner and fellow champion, Chelsea Green has not missed a beat. Wasting no time to turn an obstacle into an opportunity, Green has begin her own search under #ChelseasGotTalent and accepting submissions regardless of experience, gender or location.

It is unclear if this will get picked up on the main show but with the traction online on entertainment alone, we certainly hope so.

As of now, Green and Sonya Deville are still listed as the champions.

Saraya Added To Four Way Title Match At All In

Saraya is the third woman who will participate in a Four Way match for the AEW Women’s World Title at All In. She won this opportunity after defeating Skye Blue on the Aug. 11 episode of Rampage.

She joins the current champion Hikaru Shida as well as Toni Storm. The last woman in the match will either be Britt Baker or The Bunny who go one-on-one this Wednesday on Dynamite. This is the only women’s match confirmed so far for All In.

Damage CTRL Takes Control Of The SmackDown Roster

With IYO SKY cashing in at SummerSlam, this has firmly put Damage CTRL at the top of the SmackDown women’s division. On the Aug. 11 episode proved that as all three members came to crash down on Charlotte Flair and Asuka’s match.

To start the show, Flair and Asuka were going one-on-one. As Flair looked to possible get the win by going for the Figure Eight, SKY’s music hit and all three members of Damage CTRL emerged. This distracted Flair and Asuka got a near fall. Bayley would hop on the apron while this positioned the new Women’s Champion to drop kick both Asuka and Flair from the top rope. This caused the end of the match and a no contest result.

With Dakota Kai looking on from the ramp, SKY and Bayley continued the attack on Asuka and Flair.

In a match between Karrion Kross and AJ Styles both Michin and Scarlett were ringside. Scarlett delivered a punch to Michin which later resulted in Michin tossing her over the announce table.

SmackDown Discussion Post: 08.11.23

We’ve reached the SmackDown episode fall out from SummerSlam. We have a new WWE Women’s Champion in that of IYO SKY after she cashed in on Bianca Belair. Belair had defeated Asuka in a Triple Threat (also with Charlotte Flair) just moments before SKY’s win.

Tonight Asuka and Flair will be in a match.

Enjoy.

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka Set For Aug. 11 SmackDown

Following their Triple Threat at SummerSlam last weekend, which also included Bianca Belair, Asuka and Charlotte Flair will go one-on-one tonight.

At SummerSlam, Belair was the one who won the match but it was IYO SKY who walked out as champion. SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank contract.

Per WWE.com

Less than a week after losing the WWE Women’s Title in a Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam, Asuka will reignite her rivalry with “The Queen” Charlotte Flair as the two face off in singles action.

Flair and Bianca Belair challenged Asuka for her title in one of the four main events at SummerSlam, and despite Belair winning that match, IYO SKY cashed in mere moments later and quickly defeated The EST with a moonsault to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.

Now, Asuka and Flair square off in a match that SKY is sure to follow closely and will more than likely have championship implications.

Check back in tonight to talk about this match and the rest of SmackDown with Diva Dirt.

Nia Jax Says She’s Training, Does Not Have The Answer On A WWE Return

0

Rumors started to circulate earlier in the week after a report by PWInsider that former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax may be making her way back to the company. The report mostly stated that her name has been mentioned as of late.

While speaking to Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Jax answered a few questions. She stated that she is still training in the ring, but as of right now she doesn’t have an answer on a WWE return.

“I am, I am training. I’ll train over at D-Von Dudley’s ring. He’s great, and then I go over to Natty and TJ’s, so they run me through some drills and stuff like that. I have matches and that. I’ll get in the ring every now and then with some of my friends like Charlotte and her husband, Manny,” Jax said.

She continued on a return to WWE specifically, “I don’t have the answer. Right now, I’m just hanging out. I’m enjoying being home with my family. I have a new nephew, and I’ve kind of started being obsessed with being in Pilates.”

Jax has done other interviews in the past several months where she admits since being a surprise entrant in this year’s Royal Rumble she has caught the bug of being back in the ring.

Chelsea Green Says The Women’s Tag Team Titles Were Cursed, Not Anymore

Chelsea Green is flying solo at this time as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Her partner, Sonya Deville, had confirmed earlier in the week that she is now out with injury due to an ACL tear. This happened in her match against Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair on a previous episode of SmackDown.

Karen Green, I mean Chelsea, has not heard word what is next for the tag belts but she intends on finding a new partner as she has opened up auditions.

While speaking on WWE After the Bell, Green had the following to say –

“Do you really think Adam Pearce is taking the bull by the horns? It’s Adam Pearce. No, I have gone ahead and contacted my lawyers, and I have contacted management, I’ve let them know, [the titles] are not going anywhere. If they are going somewhere, they’re going to have to really put up a fight because at this point in time, they are coming everywhere with me. Nobody is touching these. Do you know how hard I worked for these? Eight years. Eight years, I have been fired and re-hired from this company. They are not going anywhere.” (Fightful)

Many fans regard these tag belts as cursed, and let’s face it, they haven’t had the best track record. Even Deville when she announced her injury stated that they were cursed (not really, but really). Green says they were cursed, but not anymore.

“They were cursed. Past tense. I am now the woman to change the trajectory of these tag team championships. They are no longer going to be cursed. I’ve gone ahead and bought some items to sage them. You will be seeing that on TikTok. We’re going to make a new pact for these bad boys. I’m the perfect woman to do that.”

She continues,

“I would love to be a one-man band and defend these bad boys. With that being said, someone has to come to me and present me with a worthy opponent. At this point in time, truly, the titles are around the waist of the only worthy competitor, which is myself. I’m going to need to see the women step it up in the division and prove to me that they deserve a shot at even stepping in the ring with me. I’ll tell you what, I’m not even going to put on an ounce of deodorant in the morning if they’re not worth it.”

Green has received some applications for a new partner including R-Truth and one of NXT’s newest talents Karmen Petrovic.

More Teams Added To IMPACT Emergence Tag Title Match

The August 10 episode of IMPACT Wrestling featured Jody Threat vs. Alisha Edwards as the sole Knockouts bout. Threat initially took control, but it didn’t take long for Alisha to trip Threat in the ropes to change the momentum.

Alisha choked Threat in the ropes and then clobbered her with corner clotheslines. But Threat turned it around with double knees in the ropes followed by a release German suplex. Eddie Edwards ran down and tripped Jody with a kendo stick, which then brought out Frankie Kazarian to neutralize him. Threat finally hit the F5 on Alisha to win.

After the bout, Kazarian went to hit Eddie with the kendo stick but he accidentally whacked Alisha on the wind up. Officials checked on her while Frankie was shocked.

Elsewhere, The Coven and Death Dollz confronted Santino Marella backstage to pitch themselves to get added to the Emergence tag team title match. MK Ultra walked up and welcomed all challengers. As a result, MK Ultra will now defend against Giselle Shaw and Savannah Evans, The Coven, and Death Dollz on August 27.

Deonna Purrazzo appeared backstage and challenged KiLynn King to a singles match next week. She wants redemption from her loss last week while also putting Trinity on notice ahead of their Emergence rematch.

Spoilers: AEW Rampage Taped For Aug. 11

*Please note that this article contains spoilers for the upcoming Rampage episode.*

As always, AEW taped Rampage and the results from this week had the third woman announced who will be in the All In bout. It will be a Four-way at All In for the AEW Women’s World Title. Currently in the match is the champ Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm.

Per PWInsider –

Saraya defeated Skye Blue to advance to All In.   The Outcasts attacked after the match but Madison Rayne made the save.

Saraya joins Shida and Storm leaving the last spot open for either The Bunny or Dr. Britt Baker.

Shida Headlines Dynamite Again; Four-Way Title Match Set For AEW All In

It was announced during this week’s AEW Dynamite that the AEW Women’s World Championship will be defended in a four-way match at AEW All In. With that being said, a small tournament is being held to determine the competitors.

In the main event of Dynamite, Hikaru Shida defended the Women’s title against Ann Jay to confirm who would be the defending champ at Wembley Stadium.

In the closing minutes, Jay hopped on Shida’s back, but Shida scaled the turnbuckle and dropped Jay on her back from the second rope to break it. Shida landed Falcon Arrow for a nearfall, but it wasn’t enough. Shida then kicked Jay in the head and pinned her for the three-count despite Angelo Parker trying to assist.

It is now confirmed that Shida will defend the gold in the four-way. Plus, Toni Storm has been announced for the title bout as she is exercising her rematch clause.

To fill out the rest of the field, Saraya will face Skye Blue on Friday’s Rampage, while the returning Bunny will face Britt Baker on the August 16 Dynamite.

As previously announced, this Saturday’s Collision will see Mercedes Martinez and Diamante take on Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale.

Bayley Addresses Rousey’s Prior Comments Of The Tag Team Division

0

There’s no doubt that many people have shared their criticism to WWE’s women tag team division. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships were first won in 2019 and the first champions held the idea of tag titles close to their heart. One of those champions is. Bayley.

In a recent exclusive interview from Inside the Ropes, Bayley responded to prior comments made by Ronda Rousey how the division has a “lack of competition” and the field being “dismally shallow.” At the time, Rousey was champion alongside Shayna Baszler.

Bayley tells Inside the Ropes

“If she wants more, then Ronda should do more. I’m tired of her saying she wants more, come out here and do it. Let me see. Do I see Ronda Rousey out here doing interviews? No, I see Shayna Baszler. I don’t see Ronda Rousey. I’m here, I have a match at Money in the Bank. I’m gonna climb a freakin’ ladder, you know? Where is she?”

Rousey recently had what may be her final match with WWE (at least at this time) when she lost to Baszler at SummerSlam in an MMA Fight.

Dakota Kai Arrived At 2023 SummerSlam Mere Minutes Before IYO SKY’s Celebration

0

Dakota Kai made an appearance during last weekend’s SummerSlam event as she reunited with her Damage CTRL mates after IYO SKY successfully cashed in to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.

On her Twitch stream, Kai detailed the incredibly hectic day. Since it was a Saturday she slept in as she normally does, but when she woke up she had received numerous messages that she had to get to Detroit. So when she found out her presence was needed it was already one in the afternoon.

“I literally found out they wanted me to be there at 1 PM on that day. I was still chilling. I was like, ‘it’s Saturday, my sleep in day. Not even going to set my alarm.’ My phone was on Do Not Disturb, I always have my phone on Do Not Disturb when I sleep in. I wake up, my phone is blowing up. My anxiety was through the roof. I saw all these missed calls, all these texts. Bayley is texting me, trying to call me. ‘Do you guys know what day it is, what time it is, where I am and where SummerSlam is?’ The math ain’t mathing. If I could teleport, that would be perfect. 1 PM, I shit you not. The rest of the day, my anxiety was at a ten. There was no time to be not anxious,” she said. (Fightful)

She continues, “Are there even flights? Sure, enough, there was a flight they wanted me to get on. It was around 5:15 PM, and I could not make it. I could not. There was literally only one flight left. This shows how desperate I was to get there because it was Spirit. I’ve never flown Spirit before. ‘Please don’t let anything happen.’ This flight was set for 6 PM,” she said.

Kai goes into detail all the trouble she had to get to Detroit. Everything had gone wrong with her plane delay. The flight didn’t take off until 7:15 PM and it is a two-and-a-half-hour flight to the destination. The plane landed in during the middle of the show, she states after the Shayna Baszler vs. Ronda Rousey match.

“Boarding time passes. It’s 6 PM, we’re still standing around. We board at 6:30. It’s getting closer to 7. ‘SummerSlam starts in an hour, in what world am I going to make this?’ They were saying the plane had maintenance issues, which is why we were delayed. They’re waiting for papers. How, in today’s technology, do you have to wait for a paper? We have technology. Just text them, ‘we’re good.’ It’s 2023. Email them the papers, send a screenshot, text them, DM them. We wait for a stack of papers. We haven’t even pulled away from the gate,” she said.

“It’s after 7 PM. Everything that went wrong, could. We take off at 7:15. It’s a two-and-a-half-hour flight to Detroit. I forgot what city we were going to because I was that frantic. When I’m landing, it’s the middle of the show, I want to say it was after Shayna [Shayna Baszler] and Ronda [Ronda Rousey]. Gunther and Drew [Drew McIntyre]. Thank goodness they sent car service to come and get me. They also had a makeup lady in the car. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the airport to the venue. Luckily their match was semi-main. I wouldn’t have made it. We get to the venue, I got dressed in the locker room, and it was straight to be loaded for where I was meant to be. I didn’t even get to say hi to everyone, really,” she recalled.

Kai further adds she was dressed in fully black over her regular clothes because they wanted to hide her from the crowd to be a surprise.

Already reported, after her appearance during the press conference she explained that she is still a ways away from returning to the ring but didn’t want to miss SKY’s moment. She is currently sidelined with an ACL injury which can normally take nine months to a year to fully heal. She has been out since mid-May.

AEW’s The Bunny Reportedly Nearing A Return To the Ring

AEW’s The Bunny is reportedly about ready to return from injury.

In a report by Fightful Select, The Bunny (Allie) has been sidelined with an orbital bone injury from back in February but is nearing her return. She competed at Fight Night against then-champion Jamie Hayter in an eliminator match on Dynamite. We have not seen her on TV since.

Fightful says that The Bunny has been at recent television tapings but hasn’t accompanied Butch and Blade to the ring. She’s also done meet and greets for Smash Wrestling where many members of the show learned that she will return back to the ring shortly.

The Bunny filmed a role last fall for an upcoming movie called Bad Tenant. The film is in post-production.
