Eight Person Tag Match Added To GAB; Weapons Wild Match

On the final NXT episode before the Great American Bash this Sunday, an Eight Person Tag Team match was announced. It will be Meta-Four taking on Yulisa Leon, Valentina Feroz, Nathan Frazier, and Dragon Lee.

In a fight over who the true Heritage Cup holder is, Noam Dar called out the fact that he never lost to Frazier as it was Oro Mensah who was in that bout. The two sides would agree on a fight, but Meta-Four pointed out it is four against two.

Well the sides evened up once Feroz and Leon entered to mix and now we have an eight person tag team match for the premium live event.

Also at the event this Sunday we knew that Blair Davenport would be taking on Roxanne Perez. Their rivalry has become unglued and is showing a more vicious side of Perez. On this week’s NXT, surveillance footage showed both women in a brawl at a connivence store. It would be Perez who made the most of it as she stood tall at the end as she left when the police arrived.

This encounter between the two has led to a Weapons Wild stipulation at the GAB.

Lastly, as previously announced Tiffany Stratton will be defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Thea Hail in a submission match. You can view both promos from the competitors below.

Make sure to check back in with Diva Dirt this Sunday to talk about the GAB live.

WWE Provides Medical Update On Liv Morgan

After the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley’s attack to Liv Morgan on last night’s Raw, WWE has issued a statement.

Morgan was out of action recently for two months with a shoulder injury before returning to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles for a second time.

Per WWE.com

Last night on Monday Night Raw, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley brutally injured Liv Morgan’s left arm.

The Eradicator of The Judgment Day attacked Morgan before their scheduled match, trapped her arm in a steel chair and stomped on it twice. Screaming in agony, Morgan could be heard saying that she could not move her arm.

Morgan was examined by WWE medical staff before being taken to a local medical facility for further evaluation.

Check back to WWE.com for updates on her condition as they become available.

Ripley vs. Lyra Valkyria Set For July 25 NXT

0

NXT’s Lyra Valkyria has challenged the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley to a non-title match.

In a WWE exclusive, Ripley was backstage being interviewed. She explains that anyone that gets in her way will be stopped. Valkyria enters and says instead of proving to Ripley what she can do against Jacy Jayne, she wants to step up to her instead.

Ripley warns Valkyria that may not be the brightest idea as she is the most dominant woman across all brands. However, Ripley gladly accepts.

Ripley has shown admiration to Valkyria in the past and has spoken highly of her.

Lynch Earns Rematch Against Stratus; Ripley Injures Morgan’s Arm

Becky Lynch has earned a rematch against Trish Stratus.

On the July 24 episode of Raw, just 11 days before SummerSlam, Lynch defeated Zoey Stark. As promised by Stratus this means that Lynch will be awarded another go at the Hall of Famed. This time, Lynch determined to get the victory. It has not been confirmed when the match will take place.

As for the final sequence in the match between Stark and Lynch, Lynch was destracted by Stratus which cause a near fall roll up. Stark spilled to the apron and uses the ropes to hang up Lynch. Stark continued to use the ropes but as she leapt off the top rope she was caught in the ManHandle Slam which gave Lynch the pin.

A match later in the night was supposed to take place between the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. As Morgan was making her entrance though she was brutally attacked by the champion.

It was announced on the show that Raquel Rodriguez suffered a knee injury but now Morgan is out with an arm injury following the Ripley attack. Morgan was determined to get revenge on Ripley after what she did to Rodriguez. She was rather confident as well since Morgan is the last woman to pin Ripley in May 2022.

Maxxine Dupri challenges Valhalla to a match next week. This will be Dupri’s first singles match in WWE.

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler both state that they will be having a “fight” against each other at SummerSlam.

There was a backstage moment after a Morgan interview where the new Women’s Tag Team Champions Sony Deville and Chelsea Green wondered why they weren’t being interviewed instead.

DD Power 15: July 16 to July 22

0

Welcome to this week’s Power 15 Rankings curated by us here at Diva-Dirt. This week we are reviewing women’s action across several companies.

As well as the 15 women featured, two wildcards will be featured each week chosen by Nick and Gary. These wildcards are for women who didn’t quite make the ranking but are ones to watch for the week ahead. Without further ado, let’s get in to it.

Please Note: This list is subjective to us at Diva Dirt. We encourage our readers for respectful and enjoyable conversations.

Gary’s Wildcard – Dana Brooke

Dana Brooke’s return to NXT has not brought her much success as of yet but has granted her a new ally in the form of Kelani Jordan.

Recently, the pair have supported one another at ringside or backstage, with Brooke doing her best to boost morale after Jordan’s recent loss to Cora Jade.

This coming week, Brooke will square off against Jade in a Kendo Stick match as an opportunity for revenge but also a chance to garner some support from the NXT crowd. Gimmick matches within NXT often illicit strong reactions and Brooke may finally get some respect with a good showing.

Nick’s Wildcard – Dani Luna

With the crowning of new Impact Tag Team champions comes a new addition to the Knockouts division in the form of Dani Luna.

Luna previously faced Jody Threat in a losing effort as a visiting talent but this current run may be slightly more permanent and she is off to a solid start with a new match already confirmed for her. Luna will team up with the new Knockouts champion as they square off against The Coven this week.

Shotzi Shows Off New Look At Mexico City House Show

0

At a WWE Supershow live event over the weekend in Mexico City, Shotzi showed off her new look for the first time.

On the July 14 episode of SmackDown, Shotzi shaved her head after Bayley had previously cut off some of her hair. This has left Bayley frightened as Shotzi continued to taunt her on this past Friday’s SmackDown.

This live event had Shotzi come out with her head now buzzed as she faced Asuka and Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women’s Title in a Triple Threat. Asuka retains.

Other matches included Shayna Baszler defeating Ronda Rousey by disqualification and Rhea Ripley retaining her Women’s World Title over Becky Lynch and Natalya.

Alicia Fox Wants To Face Former Three Time Knockouts Champion

0

WWE Alum and former Divas Champion Alicia Fox (Victoria Crawford) wants to get back in the ring. She has a whole list of women that she wants to face and made her first return to wrestling at a Reality of Wrestling (ROW) event.

She appeared after a Battle Royal at the ROW Summer of Champions. She confronted the promotion’s Diamonds Division champion, Promise Braxton.

Outside of the ROW promotion she has had her eye on some women from both IMPACT and AEW. While speaking to MuscleManMalcom, she gave the following names.

“I want to wrestle Deonna Purrazzo,” she said. “I’ve been watching Deonna. There’s AEW, Toni Storm, I like her. Paige, obviously. I love Ruby [Soho]. I mean, those kinds of girls, I know they’ve got grit and stuff, but there are so many women that I’ve been seeing here [at Reality of Wrestling].

At the end of the day, it appears that Crawford is itching to face just about anyone.

“There also are a lot of girls in other promotions and I’m like right now I can’t even think I mean, I just want everyone,” she adds.

Dr. Britt Baker vs. Taya Valkyrie Set For Dynamite

After this week’s episode of Collision, Taya Valkyrie called out Dr. Britt Baker for a match this Wednesday for Dynamite.

Valkyrie defeated Skye Blue on Collision which afterward she noted that she was lacking in the win column. She stated that Baker had a recent win as well and wants to face her next.

This will be a first time match between these two competitors.

Athena Retains In ROH Death Before Dishonor Main Event

For the first time in ROH history, the women main evented a pay-per-view. Athena put her ROH Women’s World Title on the line against Willow Nightingale.

The final moments of the historic bout spilled to the outside where Athena slams Nightingale on the floor. Back in the ring, Athena executes the O Face but Nightingale kicked out. This left Athena frustrated as she and the crowd alike thought that was the end.

Nightingale powerbombs Athena but received a near fall. Moments later, Athena connects with O Face again and applies a crossface. After a struggle from Nightingale eventually she would eventually pass out causing the referee to call for the bell.

Post match, Nightingale raised the hand of Athena out of respect.

On the preshow Zero Hour, Leyla Hirsch defeated Trish Adora. Hirsch applied the armbar to get the submission victory. Afterward, Hirsch refused to adhere to the Code of Honor and locked in the armbar on Adora again. Skye Blue came down to save Adora and chase off Hirsch.

Flair Defeats SKY As Shotzi Continues To Taunt Bayley

Prior to the July 21 episode of SmackDown, it was confirmed that Asuka will face both Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat at SummerSlam for the WWE Women’s Title. Flair would be in action following this announcement against a woman who will be paying very close attention to that Triple Threat – Ms. Money in the Bank IYO SKY.

The match between the two was very back and forth and was given plenty of time. The match started to breakdown when Bayley came off of commentary to cause a distraction to Flair. SKY took advantage and went for a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the top rope. Flair was able to kick out.

A montage of Shotzi cutting her hair from last week with her maniacal laugh played on the big screen which freaked out Bayley. She kept looking around and told SKY she had to go as she retreated to backstage. SKY being left alone continued to fight off Flair.

The two continue to get near falls back and forth by trading moonsaults and even submissions. It came down to Natural Selection to put away SKY as Flair emerged victorious. Her celebration didn’t take place though as the WWE Women’s Champion Asuka attacked Flair from behind getting the last laugh.

Moments later in the women’s locker room we saw Bayley and SKY arguing about what happened out at the ring. Bayley kept telling SKY that they need to go and to worry about it later. It was then that Bayley saw her luggage was sliced up and there was a photo of her with scissors stabbed into it. Bayley and SKY fled out of the locker room.

NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton was in the crowd for the show and was seen on camera before the women’s match. She also had a dark match before the show versus Kiana James. Stratton won and reportedly played the baby face role.

The Cavinder Twins were also in attendance.

SmackDown Discussion Post: 07.21.23

Tonight’s SmackDown comes just after WWE has confirmed that Asuka will defend her WWE Women’s Title agains Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat.

WWE Women’s Title Triple Threat Set For SummerSlam

0

WWE has announced that the WWE Women’s Championship will be defended in a Triple Threat at SummerSlam on Aug. 5.

The champion, Asuka, will defend against both Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. Since Asuka defeated Belair at Night of Champions in May and since being the first woman to hold the new belt, Belair and Flair have been on the hunt to get the gold. Both challengers have had recent title matches that have ended in disqualification thanks to each other.

Earlier today, WWE confirmed that this announcement would take place tonight on SmackDown. Apparently plans have changed and they announced it early. Flair will now take on IYO SKY in singles action.

So far this is the first official women’s match set for SummerSlam. Ronda Rousey did challenge Shayna Baszler but we do not have the match confirmed at this time.

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news on SummerSlam.

Courtney Rush Outlasts Savannah Evans; Dani Luna Set To Team With Trinity

The post-Slammiversary episode of IMPACT saw Courtney Rush go one-on-one with Savannah Evans.

Evans dominated the first half of the bout and showcased her strength while Jai Vidal and Gisele Shaw provided ringside distractions. That all turned around when Jessicka finally knocked Shaw down, while Jody Threat came down to carry Vidal out of the match. In the end, Rush hit Evans with a spear for the win.

Later on backstage, Shaw and Evans were looking for Vidal when they ran into Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly. Shaw told them to move, but Kelly made it know that they won’t be going anywhere. Threat then dropped off Vidal, who was shaking on the floor.

We saw vignettes for Trinity winning the Knockouts World Championship, plus The Coven losing the tag titles. The Coven then issued a challenge to face Trinity and Dani Luna in a tag bout next week.

Elsewhere on the show, Alisha Edwards sent a message to Traci Brooks that she was no help to Frankie Kazarian. Brooks and Kazarian then walked up, leading to Brooks throwing hands and all four of them had to be pulled apart.

Two Matches Confirmed For NXT Great American Bash

0

Thea Hail is still looking to become the NXT Women’s Champion. After failing to win the title against the champion Tiffany Stratton a few weeks back, Hail is looking to prove she can become champion. She cause Stratton to tap out in that title match and if the referee wasn’t distracted we would have a new champion right now.

On the July 18 episode of NXT, Hail earned a victory against Elektra Lopez with the same Kimura submission maneuver she used on Stratton. Post match, she demanded a rematch and had the crowd firmly behind her. Stratton emerged and would agree to the match but as champion she has final say.

Hail then requested the match to be a submission match. Stratton would not agree before Hail locked her in the Kimura causing the champion to tap and scream in pain while agreeing to the stipulation. The match will take place at the Great American Bash on July 30.

A second match has been confirmed for that event and it will be Blair Davenport vs. Roxanne Perez. On this weeks NXT the two had a face to face interview backstage. Davenport told Perez that she didn’t belong here with the adults as Perez states she has had a fire inside of her ever since losing the NXT Women’s Title. The Great American Bash will be in Perez’s home state of Texas.

Kiana James and Gigi Dolin had a rematch. This time, James picked up the win. Dolin had the bag of James and as the referee was struggling to get it out of her hands, James hit the 401K on Dolin who landed on the bag.

A backstage moment between Rhea Ripley and Lyra Valkyria took place. Ripley has been singing the praises of Valkyria but wasn’t pleased that she lost to Jacy Jayne. Valkyria confirms the next time she is in the ring with Jayne she will be victorious.

There was a promo for Dana Brooke and Kelani Jordan. Jordan felt back losing to Cora Jade. Brooke and Jordan would show what they can do and what Jade can’t and that is gymnastics. Brooke will be taking on Jade next week in a Kendo Stick match.

NXT Discussion Post: 07.18.23

Tonight’s NXT has two matches on the card listed. Kiana James will be taking on Gigi Dolin and Thea Hail taking on Elektra Lopez.

Enjoy.

Two Women’s Matches Set For July 18 NXT

0

The rivalry between Kiana James and Gigi Dolin in NXT continues.

After a war of paint and office destruction, the two will go head-to-head again on tonight’s episode. The last time these two met, Dolin came out with the victory but it would be James that brought out the paint.

The second match announced is between Thea Hail and Elektra Lopez. Hail is trying to prove a point that she deserves a rematch against the NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. After all, Stratton did tap out!

Check back in tonight with Diva Dirt to talk about the show live.

Rousey Challenges Baszler For Match At SummerSlam

On the July 17 episode of Raw, Ronda Rousey challenged her former best friend Shayna Baszler to a match at SummerSlam.

The segment came after Baszler defeated Nikki Cross in about five seconds. Rousey called out Baszler after the match as she was in the upper part of the arena. Rousey continued the talk about how she used the back door to get into WWE while Baszler used the front. The difference is that per Rousey she got thrown to the wolves with little to no training and within a year became a future Hall of Famer.

Baszler responds by saying that she is a better version of Rousey. She wanted to fight Rousey right there but the Baddest Woman on the Planet declined. Rousey does want to see Baszler at SummerSlam tho. This way Baszler can actually be booked on SummerSlam according to Rousey.

Also on this week’s Raw, Maxxine Dupri was speared threw a table by Valhalla. During the Viking Rules match between Alpha Academy and the Viking Raiders, Dupri landed a crossbody on Valhalla and got her letterman jacket back. Valhalla didn’t take this lightly and speared Dupri threw a table sitting in the corner. The Viking Raiders would go on the win the match.

On Miz TV, he hosted Becky Lynch and talked about her downward spiral. He reminded her that she has lost to Trish Stratus, then lost Money in the Bank, and most recently lost to Zoey Stark last week.

Lynch wanted to cut to the chase and yelled at The Miz to just bring out Stratus and Stark. To which he did. Lynch wants another match with Stratus but Stratus doesn’t feel she has to honor that as she has already defeated her. Finally after Lynch made Stratus agree to another match, Stratus says in order for Lynch to get that she has to defeat Stark next week.

We also crowned new Women’s Tag Team Champions which you can read about here.

Deville & Green Win First WWE Gold As New Women Tag Team Champs

Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. On the July 17 episode of Raw, they defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to be crowned. This is the first gold for both Deville and Green in WWE.

Prior to the match taking place, Rodriguez and Morgan were being interviewed backstage. They were confronted by the Women’s World Champion who would head butt Morgan and then take out Rodriguez at the knee. Medical cleared Rodriguez to compete and she agreed to as she limped her way to the ring with Morgan to defend the titles.

The final moments of the match had Morgan isolated in the ring when Rodriguez was taken out at the injured knee outside of the ring. Morgan went to stack up Green for the win but she kicked out. Green executed a second UnprettyHer to Morgan as Deville hit the running knee for the exclamation point for the victory.

Deville and Green become the 17th team to hold the gold since its inception in 2019 and the 26th and 27th individuals who have been called tag champions.
