This past week, FCW held another one of it’s weekly events for our future Divas. Unfortunately, there wasn’t really a match. The Divas of FCW, including Rosa Mendes, Tiffany, Wesley Holliday, Jenny Cash, and Alicia Fox, came out to the ring with a plastic-looking shiny crown which was given to the first ever Queen of FCW, Angela Fong, who won the honor last week by defeating Alicia Fox in an impressive matchup. Before you check out the action below, just be aware that Jenny Cash’s gossip segment is up first. (cha ching!) You’ve been warned…
Crowning The Queen of FCW
Congratulations to Angela! I guess it was a letdown that all she got was a crown out of this. We were all speculating that she’d be the first FCW Women’s Champion or even get the call to head on over to WWE. If I were in developmental for as long as Angela has been, I’d rather get called up to the main roster instead of a crown!
At any rate, there wasn’t really a whole lot of storyline development in this week’s segment; all we witnessed was more of Rosa Mendes acting crazy over not winning the beloved crown Angela gets to wear… and I loved it! She plays the psycho character very well in my opinion, and I’m glad someone on WWE’s roster gets to play the crazy role, although I’d prefer it to be Mickie James.
Who knows, maybe FCW will keep this Angela/Rosa feud building up and then bring Angela over to Raw or ECW to continue the feud (she certainly is ready to graduate from developmental)… although that might be more wishful thinking too!
An interesting episode of Raw this week, as we saw Divas Champion, Marysetake on the Women’s Champion, Melina. Although not advertised as such, this one became a glorified lumberjack match with Divas from Raw and SmackDown present at ringside. Sorry, ECW.
It was Maryse that picked up the victory in the second champion vs champion match, we are now 1-for-1 in these types of matches with the Divas Champion coming out on top this time.
Raw in Review
Last week, WWE seemingly set up Maryse vs Melina for WrestleMania 25. Last week, we got to experience first hand the craziness that must ensue in the creative team meetings. At the time of the Raw and SmackDown tapings, it looked like we’d see that match but somehow, by week’s end, they’d opted for a 25 Diva battle royal instead.
So coming into this week’s Raw, WWE had a misfired storyline to tie up and a battle royal to set up. So our would-be WrestleMania match becomes just another Raw match. But all things considered, it was pretty decent. Maryse and Melina have never wrestled each other one one-on-one before so we had no indication as to where this one would go. They are both talented, competent Divas but at the same time, even the most experienced of Divas can clash in the ring style-wise.
Luckily, these two shared more chemistry than the Divas involved in the first champion vs champion match, Beth Phoenix and Michelle McCool. Melina’s fiery, innovative moveset was nicely off-set by Maryse’s cocky reliance on restholds and submissions, allowing her attitude to do the work for her. The result proved to be a good mix as the pace of the match was just perfect.
Given that Maryse is still a relative newcomer to the squared circle, she really worked well with Melina and this is a match I wouldn’t mind seeing again. As for our Women’s Champion, she proved that she can be a top Diva and carry a match successfully, something that many critics don’t accredit her with often enough.
The finish to this match likely caused a very split reaction amongst fans and so it should. Both these Divas are champions, both are worthy of winning in my opinion. It’s a tough call to make but someone had to win. I’m not going to lie, I was shocked that Maryse won but I didn’t mind. There had to be a winner and it gives Maryse a nice rub for her championship reign. Melina has already toppled Beth Phoenix and is at the top of the Raw roster, meanwhile Maryse has close competition with Michelle McCool at the top of the SmackDown roster. Giving her the rub here, puts her over a little more. *There’s something else I want to point out but will do so after the cut to avoid spoilers.
The match aftermath proved far more confusing. This went from being a brand pride affair to a babyface-heel affair. O… K. The highlight of this obligatory mish-mash segment was Rosa Mendes hurtling towards the SmackDown Divas and Beth grabbing her by the leg. The whole skit reminded me of the movie Bolt, with Rosa in the spot of Bolt’s (Beth’s) number one fan, Rhino the hamster who, like Rosa, shares an eagerness to get in the mix and prove himself to Bolt.
Little known FCW Diva, Saylor James – real name Catalina White – has reportedly been released by WWE over tattoos.
Word is that the Florida native who was a model prior to joining WWE, was let go after she had some work done without permission. Say what?! What’s next, needing permission to get married?
White joined the company in October last year and competed in the Queen of FCW tournament which was eventually won by Angela Fong.
Holding a hot pink, Barbie-esque title belt is every female wrestler’s dream. Well now you can live the dream too! WWE will finally be releasing authentic Divas Championship replica belts for sale. And only $300? Money well spent in this time of economic recession!
The belts will go on sale next month, but you can preorder yours at Highspots.com right now!
Rosa Mendes is looking very “secret agent” in her new photoshoot, “Black Gold”. The head-to-toe black leather, paired with glossy lips and voluminous hair sounds like a direct route to tranny town, but Rosa pulls it off. I love the booties, and she’s got the body to work the skin-tight dress. She certainly looks tougher than her character lets on. Now, if only she were a little more “take charge” instead of being Beth’s glorified cheerleader, maybe she could translate this to our TV screens.
Apparently, in America, they have green money and apparently, Awesome Kong isn’t happy about the amount of green TNA newcomer, Brutus Magnus, will be receiving. Brutus Magnus is best known as a gladiator on the UK incarnation of the American show Gladiators. You know? The one where they run into walls and hang from the ceiling. Things of that nature.
Kong’s made it clear that she feels she deserves to be paid more than Magnus. No doubt, Awesome Kong has contributed a lot to the company and helped shape the Knockouts division to be what it is today, whereas Magnus has yet to make a strong impact and is still very new to TNA. I can see Kong’s point of view. I’d take the same stance. Getting paid less than a rookie after the effort she’s put in?
Dixie Carter, the president of TNA, is said to be the person who pushed to hire Magnus. This push is due to her preference of charisma to actual in-ring ability. However, when Kong’s character doesn’t speak, it’s kinda of hard for her to be charismatic. Right?
Even though we’ve been abuzz about it for the last week, WWE has now officially announced the 25 Diva battle royal on tonight’s episode of Raw. The announcement came from interrim Raw General Manager/SmackDown GM, Vickie Guerrero.
The winner will be crowned the first ever ‘Miss WrestleMania’. Oh god, please don’t let this be an annual thing…
EDIT: WWE.com has now put up a match preview, read below:
Quit pinching yourself, you’re not dreaming.
At the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania in Houston, one gorgeous Diva will pack the ring for each year that WrestleMania has thrilled audiences in a 25-Diva Battle Royal.
Believe it or not, it gets better.
Not only will 25 of the Sexiest Women on Television be facing off against one another, they’ll also be competing to see who earns the title of the first ever “Miss WrestleMania.†The 25-Diva Battle Royal will feature ladies from Raw, SmackDown, ECW, including Women’s Champion Melina and Divas Champion Maryse. And prepare yourself for some epic clashes that you never thought you’d see as several WWE Divas from the past enter the ring to challenge those who have followed in their footsteps.
Find out live on pay-per-view on Sunday, April 5, as the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania is celebrated in Houston’s Reliant Stadium.
The Divas Championship isn’t even a year old and we can already boast two champion vs champion matches! Tonight on Raw, Divas Champion Marysevisits to face off with Women’s Champion, Melina! A lot can change in a week… just one week ago on Raw, it looked as though WWE was setting this match up for WrestleMania 25.
The first champion vs champion match took place on October 3rd last year, when then Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix beat then Divas Champion Michelle McCool on SmackDown’s premiere show on MyNetworkTV.
Will we see an official announcement for the 25 Diva battle royal also? No time like the present, considering the match is pretty much locked in!
Since leaving the WWE, former SmackDown Diva and interviewer Kristal Marshall has been making regular rounds in fitness competitions. Recently, Kristal took part in the 2009 Arnold Amateur NPC Bikini Championship. Out of a huge selection of fitness models, Kristal placed second. For someone who just had a baby with former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley, this must really be a great achievement for the Diva.
Though she really never had the opportunity to showcase her wrestling talents, Kristal was a great addition to the Divas roster, in my opinion, and given the chance to shine, I think Kristal would’ve made a great wrestler; she clearly is built for fitness and competition… and not even child birth slowed her down!
Wrestlers don’t usually have a good track record when it comes to appearing in movies (*cough* Blade Trinity *cough* anyJohnCenamovie *cough*) but Gail Kim‘s giving it a go in “Royal Kill”, a movie that’s been on the shelf for a while now (to give you a taste of how long it’s been, its star died in 2005) but its finally ramping up for a limited theatrical release. According to its IMDB page, this is the synopsis:
A high school teenage girl in America finds out that she is the last living heir to the Kingdom of Samarza. An assassin (note – that’s Gail) has been sent to kill the young princess while a noble guard has been sent to protect her.
Seems like your typical action fare, but I’m willing to give it a shot. It can’t be worse than the films that the WWE produces. Appearing alongside Gail in the movie is Eric Roberts (“The Pope of Greenwich Village”, “The Dark Knight”) and the late Pat Morita (the “Karate Kid” films). So far it’s only being released in limited locations in California, Chicago, and Virginia. I suppose that’s better than going straight-to-DVD, but I doubt it’ll be getting any wider of a release, so most of us will have to wait until it graces the shelves of our local video stores to see how Gail fares.
Until then, check out the first image of her in the film by clicking the thumbnail below. In addition, the film’s website has the official trailer, so click here to watch.
Rather than make separate posts, here is all the latest on the proposed 25 Diva battle royal at WrestleMania 25!
PWPix.net reports that WWE has done the unthinkable and contacted Stone Cold’s ex-wife, Debra, to be part of the 25 Diva battle royal! Debra is a former Women’s Champion and helped coin the term ‘puppies’ in WWE.
In recent years, Debra has been less than favourable in her judgment of WWE, speaking out on how there was a ‘code of silence’ in WWE as they refused to acknowledge the abuse laid upon her by their top star at the time. Interestingly, that top star is the lead inductee to this year’s Hall of Fame which makes the whole situation even more shocking. It’ll definitely be a sight if Debra turns up.

Speaking of controversial Divas, if she can even be considered that as she predates Divas altogether – WWE has reached out to ’80s star, Wendi Richter to appear at WrestleMania. Richter appeared at the very first ‘Mania with the Fabulous Moolah and left under a cloud of controversy in what is considered ‘the original screwjob’.
In a match against ‘The Spider Lady’, Richter was screwed out of the Women’s Championship when her opponent -Â a masked Fabulous Moolah – broke from the script and pinned her shoulders to the mat. The referee counted 1, 2, 3 despite Richter counting at 1.

And finally, TNA star Booker T spoke on the controversy surrounding his Legends of Wrestling FanFest. Torrie Wilsonwas scheduled to appear but backed out after commiting herself to be part of the WrestleMania weekend. Booker has now confirmed that she is expected to be part of a match – likely the battle royal:
”Ron Simmons is still within his 90 days, and they told him he can’t do it,” said Booker. ‘Torrie Wilson is involved in a match at WrestleMania, so they thought it was a conflict of interest. I don’t’ know how. Nick Bockwinkel hasn’t had anything with WWE for quite some time, and all of a sudden he’s doing something. Tito Santana has pulled out as well.”
There may not be a lot of time left for the Candy Coated Diva! The Cleveland Plain Dealer recently spoke with Candice Michelle about her current goals within the WWE as well as her employment status. Here’s what she had to say:
[My goal is to] win that championship, baby! Time’s running out! My contract expires in October of ’09 so we’ll see where I’m at in that point in time. I mean, I would love to get into acting and do some more modeling. We’ll see, I love where I’m at right now. WWE is home to me and I can’t take it for granted.
There were a lot of mentions of “we’ll see”by Candice which leads me to believe that she knows more than she’s giving out, or she probably feels that her contract won’t be renewed, so by mentioning that she is pursuing acting and modeling, it won’t really make her departure from the company look like the WWE got rid of her. It really is sad to see; Candice had a lot of people rooting for her comeback (including myself) from the injury she sustained in a match with Beth Phoenix. Candice went from an absolutely amazing year in 2007 with a Women’s Championship run and a Playboy cover to being put on the shelves in 2008. I always enjoyed Candice as a sultry heel and felt that was her best role. Her in-ring skills greatly improved when she was the Women’s Champion and could beat Beth Phoenix one-on-one, but unfortunately, she never really recovered in the ring after her injury, nor did she get over with the fans. Could this be the end of Candice Michelle’s wrestling career? I, for one, sure hope not. I’m still rooting for Candice despite her relatively lackluster performances and I think she really takes all the criticism she has gotten about her wrestling skills to heart and tries to fix them. As I’ve said before, a trade to SmackDown could be just what the doctor ordered to save her career!
As expected, we can add Molly Holly to the list of Divas WWE has reached out to for the 25 Diva battle royal at WrestleMania. That is the word according to PWPix.net, who note that Molly – real name Nora Greenwald – has yet to accept the offer.
Molly left WWE in 2005, right after WrestleMania 21, but has been on good terms with the company since. The Diva was much admired for her excellent in-ring skills by management and tapes of her matches have been given to Divas over the years to study, perhaps most famously Ashley Massaro ‘studied’ her matches.
Greenwald quietly retired from professional wrestling following her WWE exit, save for a few appearances here and there, though never in a full-blown match. Since her retirement, Greenwald returned for a short backstage segment at the 15th anniversary of Raw with Mickie James, Hornswoggle and William Regal.
Molly Holly is a former two time Women’s Champion and wrestled Victoria at WrestleMania XX, where she had her head shaved bald.
The names are coming in thick and fast and here’s a somewhat unlikely name you can add to the list of Divas contacted for WrestleMania 25. Former Tough Enough Champion,Jackie Gayda-Haas apparently told a fan at the Arnold Classic Expo this weekend that she’s been contacted to appear in the scheduled 25 Diva Battle Royal.
Haas went under the name of Miss Jackie during her WWE run and won the second season of Tough Enough along with Linda Miles (Shaniqua). She played mainly a managerial role, as manager to the flamboyant Rico and her now real life husband, Charlie Haas. The couple have two children.
Jackie also had a brief stint in TNA, but this ended when she became pregnant with her first child.
Among her credits include one prior WrestleMania appearance, Jackie teamed with Stacy Keibler to take on Sable and Torrie Wilson at WrestleMania 20 in a Playboy Evening Gown Match. Jackie also had an infamous mixed tag team match in 2002 which also featured Trish Stratus.
I’m assuming Jackie’s appearance hinged on her marriage to current WWE Superstar, Charlie Haas. That said, Jackie really is in great shape for a girl who has had two kids, she’s still young and has a good look – if she can go in the ring, I don’t see why she couldn’t return to WWE or TNA full time.
Diva Dirt is trying to diversify it’s coverage of women’s wrestling from North America and around the globe. More and more, you will be seeing posts dedicated to the TNA Knockouts, the Divas of FCW and the athletes of SHIMMER. We’d like to capitalise on that and continue bringing you alternative coverage other than our standard WWE Diva fare.
We’re looking for specialists that can write and contribute to Diva Dirt in the fields of TNA and the independents. Our TNA correspondents will largely be in charge of Knockout related news, columns on Impact and pay per views. Meanwhile, we are also looking for writers who can specialise in other areas of the world, for example Japan, Mexico and other places where women’s wrestling is predominant.
So, TNA, you don’t want to be like WWE. Here’s a list of things not to do: don’t bash their “Divas” for not being hardcore enough and then compete in bra and panties matches, don’t have most of your roster originate from WWE’s developmental territories, and don’t hire Playboy covergirls. Well, congratulations TNA, you have just done all 3 and further prove that you really aren’t so different after all!
TNA has just offered a contract to 28 year old ‘Survivor: The Amazon’ winner Jenna Morasca. She’s giving up posing in chocolate and peanut butter with another female ‘Survivor’ contestant on the cover of Playboy (for now) and opted to put on some wrestling gear. Although she is officially scheduled to make her TNA debut on the March 12th edition of iMPACT!, Jenna told EW.com that she will not immediately jump in the ring until she undergoes some training. (Get training before you wrestle? What a great idea!) As far as why she decided to enter the wrestling business, Jenna said, “Everyone is covered in glitter and makeup and stuff and then goes and beats the crap out of each other. This is perfect for me.” Once she finally gets trained and enters the ring, Jenna has decided to keep her real name as her in-ring name. Is the question of why she decided to do this eating at you? No worries, EW.com asked Jenna this too, which she responded by saying, “I’m gonna be me because it’s more beneficial to know it’s me from Survivor. If I had to take a name, it would be a terrible stripper name like Candy Cane Lane.” Finally, when asked what would happen if someone puts chocolate and peanut butter in the ring, Jenna said, “Oh, then it’s on! Death to all!”
Wow, TNA, you’ve really outdone yourself with this one! I might be sounding bitter about this, but don’t get me wrong, if she can wrestle then by all means let her get in the ring. However, this sounds like a ploy by TNA to get some mainstream media attention. Notice that the first outlet to break the news was Entertainment Weekly. Once she said the reason she was attracted to wrestling was because of the glitter, it pretty much did it for me. TNA is taking a page right out of WWE’s book with this hiring and this is probably the main thing that annoys me; TNA bashes and criticizes the WWE left and right yet goes and pulls this. Well, I guess we’re just going to have to keep the TV off tune in to iMPACT! on March 12th to see how TNA tries to work this publicity stunt! What do y’all think of this news?
Tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown features a match between Divas Champion, Maryseand Eve Torres with appearances from Michelle McCool and Raw’s Melina. Watch below:
SMACKDOWN: EVE TORRES VS MARYSE
Despite the Divas involved, I felt this week’s SmackDown was really lackluster and the end of this segment left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve been a great supporter of Michelle but having her stand over not one but two fallen champions? Say what?! To me it just came across as Triple H-esque ego trip booking. No one deserves to be put over like that. I was disappointed as to how this all turned out. On paper it sounds good: You have Maryse wrestling, Michelle on commentary and Melina making a special appearance too. Three of the top Divas in WWE, so why was this whole segment so bad?
The match was slow and plodded along, I think it proved that Eve is not nearly as ring-ready as some may think. I, for one, am not fooled and I haven’t been impressed at all. She just seems too average and too developmental to be getting regular matches on SmackDown. I just don’t understand why she’s getting matches while there’s Divas like Alicia Fox that could make the most of the ‘push’ that Eve is receiving as a competitor. She can get through a match sure, but she looks winded and is just rather bland to watch. She needs to work at it some more. The two Divas shared no chemistry in the ring and this wasn’t the best match Maryse has had.
Then we have Michelle on commentary. Well people complained that she sucked on the microphone and was bland and soulless as a face, being a heel hasn’t changed that. Being on commentary is a real chance to put yourself over to the audience but Michelle just sounded monotonous and boring. She didn’t come across as a heel nor a face, she didn’t really across as anything. She should have been more aggressive.
Melina’s attack on Maryse was well done until it turned into The Michelle McCool Show.
Somehow a script from this week’s Monday Night Raw managed to leak online and there are a few things I thought I’d highlight. This was however, the first draft of the script and not the final product that we saw on television. You can check out the full script by clicking here.
Show Notes
– The original draft of the script doesn’t place Maryseon commentary with Melinaat ringside. This one seems to suggest Maryse would come out and attack Melina after the match was done, which I think would have been far more effective.
– Is Candice injured? In brackets by her name, it has the date “Mar 18” (March 18th) as her return date to the road. If you look at other Superstars such as Batista, Jamie Noble and Mr Kennedy, they also have brackets next to their names with return dates. So it seems this suggests an injury.
– Gail Kim is officially listed under the Divas column for SmackDown, which could suggest she’s already on the road travelling to SmackDown tapings.
– Under ‘Transactions’, WWE makes it a point to note that Natalyais still part of the SmackDown roster and has not moved to ECW. Good move because I’m sure we all want to see Gail vs Natalya.
We can all agree that, except for a few exceptions, Divas get the short end of the stick when comes to entrance themes. While the male superstars get music from actual bands and artists or custom made songs with lyrics, Divas get stuck with crappy production music. If I had the chance I would change all the Divas music to something a little… well, better. And that’s just what I’m going to do. Here’s a few changes I would make to the Divas’ soundtrack:
The name says it all. This would be the perfect song to fit Alicia Fox’s disco dancing gimmick. Not to mention, it would be a welcome change from her current Jacko-esque theme.  The lyrics fit her outlook totally: “Just dance/ Gonna be OK”. This would have to be her theme alone, because the thought of DJ Gabriel dancing down the ramp to this is laughable.
Former WWE Diva Sunnyaka Tammy Sytch has confirmed herself for an appearance at WrestleMania 25 as part of the 25 Diva battle royal.
Sunny, who worked for WWE between 1993 and 1998, changed her Facebook status to: “is getting ready to kick some DIVA ASS at Wrestlemania!!”
Sytch also appeared at the 15th anniversary of Raw in December 2007, her first appearance for the company in nearly 10 years. Following this appearance, there was some talk about bringing her back full time, though this never materialised.
The Divas of FCW wrapped up their Queen of FCW Tournament. If you saw the spoiler that FCW provided us, well, you weren’t let down! Check out the final matchup between Angela Fong and ECW’s Alicia Fox, with Rosa Mendes as the special guest ring announcer.
Queen of FCW Finals: Angela Fong vs. Alicia Fox
In all honesty, I thought this matchup was amazing. It was a great length, more than the typical 5 minutes (or less) that the Divas on Raw or SmackDown are allowed and it is very clear that both Alicia and Angela have a great chemistry with each other in the ring. Their movesets are very unpredictable, especially Angela’s, and it really made me want to see more. Divas like Kelly Kelly, as much as I am a supporter of her, have such a predictable set of moves that they use over and over in every single match. Kelly always does her handspring flip into a back elbow as well as the back flip reversal when one leg is caught; to me, it just makes her look stale over time. But in this match, the back and forth countering Alicia and Angela did with the Matrix style flips really blew me away. It made me wonder why these Divas are not given the chance to shine while less talented Divas who haven’t mastered in-ring technique are given regular TV time. At the end of the match, it looked as though Alicia was really crying and it showed me just how much drive and passion she has for this business. The commentating by Rosa Mendes was also well done as Rosa stayed in character while delivering a lackluster introduction of Angela Fong since Angela beat her in an earlier round of the tournament. I really hope that Angela will finally get her big break and be called up to the WWE roster. She’d fit right in on Raw or ECW as she’s already got two great rivalries brewing with Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes. I wouldn’t, however, like to see her on SmackDown as I think she would end up looking like Gail Kim Version 2. Unfortunately, there wasn’t an FCW Championship belt introduced as we were all hoping, but nontheless, this had to be one of the best Divas matches I’ve seen in a while.
Well it’s only been a few hours since the news broke, but already the Internet has exploded with speculation as to which ‘blasts from the past’ will take part in WWE’s commemorative 25 Diva battle royal at WrestleMania 25.
Well one of the Divas that WWE will no doubt approach for this match-up is former Women’s Champion, Lita real name, Amy Dumas. I can confirm that Lita will be in Houston the weekend of WrestleMania… but for a prior engagement. The former Diva and Luchagors singer is set to appear at Booker T’s Legends of Wrestling FanFest on April 3rd.
Dumas’ involvement in the FanFest may hinder her chances at appearing at WrestleMania. Big story on the wrestling news sites this week is that WWE is possibly sabotaging Booker T’s convention by trying to book some of his top tier stars to come along to the WWE festivities. One such example is Torrie Wilson, who was scheduled to appear at the FanFest but pulled out in order to be part of WrestleMania weekend. Looks like WWE is telling the stars, “It’s one or the other.”
However, Lita remains listed on the FanFest’s official website as a guest, which could mean a deal couldn’t be worked out between her and WWE.
As I noted earlier today, I’m guessing WWE will reach out to their Alumni including Trish Stratus, Lita, Torrie Wilson, Victoria, Molly Holly, Sunny and Mae Young. It’ll be interesting to see if we get any shockers in there, such as Sable or Stacy Keibler, though those two seem unlikely.
You know what time it is people! Really? You don’t? Well I’ll clue you in. It’s time your weekly dose of SHIMMER goodness. Okay, so I cheated a bit with this one as Cheerleader Melissa is already a part of TNA’s roster as Raisha Saeed, but she deserves to be recognized for the gimmick that brought her to the dance: The Cheerleader.
Unbeknownst to many, Melissa is a second generation wrestler. Picking up the business from her dad, Melissa started out as a valet and had her first match at the tender age of 17. Ever since she’s been a force to be reckoned with. After being trained by the likes of Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson, Melissa trained in Japan and The UK honing her skill. After a name for herself on the independent circuit, the fierce beauty joined the ranks of SHIMMER.
Melissa made her SHIMMER debut on Volume 1 in a losing effort against MsChif. This match sparked a rivalry that spread over several volumes of SHIMMER as well as other promotions. However on Volume 8 the rivals put their differences aside to take on common enemies, The Minnesota Homewrecking Crew (Lacey and Rain). Although the lost, the two decided to remain a team and went on to gain several victories. During her tenure in SHIMMER, Melissa also wrestled a match on Sunday Night Heat against Victoria under her real name: Melissa Anderson
As of late Melissa has been competing in TNA as the mysterious Syrian manager of  Awesome Kong. I would personally love to see Raisha go bye-bye and see CM make a debut. I was never a fan of the Saeed character and the fake accent. I would even like to see her on ECW, taking on the newly extreme Natalya and Katie Lea.
So what do guys say? Lose the burqa? Stick with Kong? Get extreme? None of the above? Sound off in the comments. As usual, here’s a few vids:
PS: Make sure you watch the last vid. The spot at 1:48 is SICK!
As I was trolling Youtube for videos of my favorite Divas, I found an absolute gem and I just had to share it with you guys. First, a little backstory.
Mickie James. Ex-psycho/stalker. 4 time WWE Womens Champion. Former TNA Knockout?! *gasp*. While it may be no surprise to fellow Mickie marks like myself, before Mickie was the buxom bombshell we know today she was a scrappy, young upstart on TNA’s roster known as Alexis Laree. And boy did she have a mouth on her. Which brings us to my hidden Youtube treasure. Check out this clip of ‘Alexis’ telling poor Goldylocks off in one of her first appearances in TNA.
ALEXIS OWNS GOLDYLOCKS
Â
I know this was random but it was just so damn funny. My favorite part was Goldylocks’ expression. Owned. And did you hear Mickie’s cute lil’ southern accent? Personally I would like to see some of this tough, slightly bitchy Mickie in WWE, as she’s way overdue for a character overhaul.
What? What was that? You’d like another? Why sure! Here’s another clip of Mickie letting Goldylocks have it, followed promptly by Jeff Jarrett putting her in her place.
PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has plans to hold a 25 Diva battle royal to celebrate the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania next month. I’m assuming the match would tie in all the current Divas as well as the most recognisable names from the past.
The battle royal would quash the chances of a singles match or a title match, which I’m sure we’d all prefer. According to Mike Johnson, WWE is in the midst of booking past workers to take part. One name that will most likely be involved is Trish Stratus. Meanwhile, Torrie Wilson has confirmed that WWE has asked her to be part of the ‘Mania weekend, so it wouldn’t be out of the question to see her involved.
Mickie Jamesis working all the right colors in her new photoshoot, “Baby Blue Beauty”. I love how that shade of blue looks with her hair, and the gold jewelry is just the right shade. The dress itself is a little iffy, but if I’m reading is correctly, it’s an Ed Hardy creation, so it’s not like I’m expecting Oscar de la Renta or something. And is it just me, or does it look like she’s got pretzels hanging from her ears? (I kid, I kid.. I like ’em) Eh, nevertheless, it’s nice to see notorious over-accessorizer Mickie keep it relatively simple, even if her sleek hair, jewelry, and shoes are begging for a more flattering dress.
