Former WWE Diva, Former Playboy Model, Former… Stripper?

10

Remember me? I’m the one who made an official blog debut about two weeks ago, before fading into oblivion. Long story short, mid-terms will do you in. I’m slowly inching my way back into the cyber world, so hopefully you’ll see more of my posts on a daily basis. As for this topic, new or old, it’s definitely news to me. Perhaps for you, too?

Moving along, don’t you just adore the accompanying picture? Christy Hemme is a character, in and out of the ring. She’s got a red hot personality, and the hair to prove it! However, the usually optimistic Knockout has had a photo surface online that could very well give Kelly Kelly a run for her reputation as an extreme exhibitionist. Christy Hemme, Stripper. Could it be?

It isn’t exactly far fetched to have female personalities in the world of wrestling with pole dancing experiences; Lita put herself through wrestling school as a part-time stripper right by a Chinese restaurant, WCW’s Gorgeous George was a notorious stripper, before, during, and after her wrestling stint, and then there’s just a whole roster of ladies that have dabbled into both soft and hardcore porn, pole included.

But it begs the question: does that make them a slut? What is a slut in your opinion? Someone who exposes themselves on live television, via The Kat. Someone who literally spreads their legs in a mere ring entrance, via Melina. What about our Playboy cover girls, Sable, Chyna, Torrie, Christy, Ashley and Maria? Then we have controversial Divas such as Michelle McCool and her relations with the living-dead, Lita with her relations between Matt Hardy and Edge, and finally, Mickie James with her infamous photo’spread’ that just takes her reputation to a whole new level… and the way we look at Arby’s.

It just goes to show, there’s hardly anything left to shock fans of both Divas and Knockouts. For the most part, in merely every situation, it’s a been there, done that scenario. For every lady that makes a headline these days, there’s someone that has already blazed that path.

Moving back to Christy; in her defense, this photo could have been taken during her stint with her former dance team, Purrfect Angels. But as a former Playboy cover model and a featured starlet in Girls Gone Wild, anything is possible with Ms. Hemme. There isn’t much you can’t put past her. After all, she did name her finisher ‘Firecrotch’, and Lindsay Lohan, the queen of shock value herself and to whom this nickname was originally bestowed upon, would be oh-so proud!

Going Costume Shopping for Cyber Sunday

21

With Cyber Sunday Halloween Costume Contest set to go down this Sunday, I felt inspired to assign costumes to each participating Diva. Although several Divas have already shared what their costume will be, I’ve gone ahead and came up with my own ideas, making sure to avoid the more cliche and skanky costumes. I mean, I don’t know how many times you can see a sexy nurse before losing your mind. Without further adieu, take a look at the costume options below and cast a vote for your favorite! No text messaging fee here, folks

BETH PHOENIX – SHE-HULK

Women’s Champ Beth Phoenix is known for her brute strength and intimidating demeanor, so it’s easy to picture the Glamazon as She-Hulk, lawyer-by-day cousin to the famous Jade Giant. Like She-Hulk, Beth is statuesque and beautiful, and could totally kick some evil-doer ass. She’s also got the sass to match. Just paint Beth green and boom – you’ve got it!

• Get the look: Purple leotard, long black wig, black fingerless gloves, black combat boots, green body paint

• • • • • • • •

BRIE BELLA – MASQUERADE COUNTESS

Brie Bella, or is it Nicole Bella? Whoever it is, she’s constantly playing switcheroo, ducking under the ring at a moment’s notice to switch places with her twin. With the mysterious thought in mind, Brie could dress as a Masquerade Countess, brandishing a mask as her “disguise” and giving a new meaning to hiding your true identity.

SmackDown Watch: October 24, 2008

This week’s SmackDown sees a Divas tag team match between Michelle McCool and Maria taking on Natalya and Maryse. Plus, a confrontation between the Divas Champion and her #1 Contender as well as Primo Colon trying to bag a date with Brie Bella.

MICHELLE MCCOOL & MARIA VS NATALYA & MARYSE

Awesome Kong Regains Knockouts Championship

18

On a live edition of Impact last night, Awesome Kong defeated Taylor Wilde to become the TNA Knockouts Champion for a second time. Kong now becomes the title’s first ever two-time holder.

In other action, Christy Hemme defeated Velvet Sky of the Beautiful People in singles action.

Your Take: What do you think of Kong regaining the title? Happy or not? Let us know in the comments!

“Superstar” is to “Entertainer” as “Diva” is to…

10

The WWE recently made a move to change their “Superstars” moniker to “Entertainers”, reportedly in an effort to move away from the image of an organized sport and towards a “traveling entertainment” image. While it’s doubtful that the WWE will match up to a traveling theater troupe (maybe a traveling circus is more comparable), it makes for an interesting change. The WWE’s wrestlers have been dubbed Superstars for a long time now, so it will be a bit of an adjustment to refer to them differently.

A question sprung to my mind while reading the news, however: What if the Divas were forced to change their moniker? That’s not happening, clearly, but what if it did? What would you want to be their new name? Here’s a few options I thought of on the fly:

• Ladies (very old school, but I kind of like that)
• Bombshells (kind of cliche)
• Sirens (cliche, again.. and sounds sort of seedy now that I think about it)

What about you guys – what do you think would be a fitting moniker for the ladies of the WWE? Would it be something in the vain of TNA’s “Knockouts” or would you go in a completely different direction? In that same thought, is “Divas” better than TNA’s “Knockouts”, or vice versa? Put on your thinking caps and sound off in the comments!

Lilian’s in a Purple Haze

4

Lilian Garcia must be hitting the big time, because she’s been getting photoshoots more consistently than most other Divas. In her new “Lilac” photoshoot, she demonstrates her rock style in a more mod fashion, with a 60s-reminiscent white miniskirt and boots. The purple top is a bit loud, though.. Maybe if it weren’t so shiny, I wouldn’t be thinking it belonged on a rack at Limited Too. And are those extensions in her hair, because it looks like a couple pairs of shoelaces were sewn into her scalp. Not the best look, even if you are going for the “rock n’ roll rebel” thing.

Watch: Preview Dawn & Torrie’s Shoot Interviews

15

Two former Divas both have new shoot interviews coming out, produced and distributed by RF Video. Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson for the first time ever reveal all on their careers! RF has put together some preview clips of the interviews and I have to say, they look amazing!

I’ve already got Torrie’s ordered and just watching that preview, I’m so excited to get it in the mail because there seems to be a lot of juicy stuff that Torrie talks about including Divas who she has no respect for and such. Check out the previews below:

Candice Stays Cool

18

It must be the hair, because Candice Michelle‘s new photoshoot “Unforgettable” is really impressing me. She looks so good with her hair styled a bit longer – it suits her better than the shorter look. The cool blue scenery compliments her darker color scheme nicely too. I love her look too: the accessories, the skirt, the makeup – it all works together without clashing. My only qualm would be the top – maybe if it weren’t so tiny, it would look a little less hoochy paired with the thigh-high boots. But as is, I’m fine with it.

Michelle Would Like to Sell You Some Cookies

8

Michelle McCool‘s latest photoshoot, “Black & Blue” sort of personifies wrestling in a way. Ask any non-fan what they think of the sport, and they’ll make some remark about rednecks hitting each other with steel chairs while wearing sequins and tight pants. Well, Michelle’s got the last two covered, that’s for sure. I can’t say that it’s done to perfection, though. The halter top isn’t flattering, and the tights could use some sort of pattern or embellishment, because by itself it sort of reminds me of Lindsay Lohan wandering around with leggings for pants, and that kind of makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. That braided pigtails are a cute touch, but they’re probably better suited for a Girl Scout.

SmackDown Spoilers: October 24, 2008

Check out the spoilers for Friday night’s SmackDown below:

Maryse & Natalya def. Maria & Michelle McCool in a tag team match. Jesse and Festus came out with a mariachi band, distracting Maria and Michelle. This allows Maryse a win via rollup.

Backstage, Michelle confronts Maria and asks her what happened out in the ring. Maria says she needs to find Jesse and Festus.

Raw Redux – October 20, 2008

24

This week on Raw: Candice and Kelly Kelly scored an impressive tag team victory over resident jobbers, Jillian and Katie Lea. Beth Phoenix and Layla also appeared.

Thoughts & Reactions
Monday Night Raw officially seems to be in “holding pattern” territory for our Divas of late. No storyline development, no challenger determined for our Women’s Champion. One Divas match per week to fill the ‘Diva quota’ (I know, I’ve overused that phrase… sorry) and that’s your lot folks! That said, the Divas matches of late haven’t been all that bad. The past few weeks have hinged on what I like to call the ‘Rise of Kelly Kelly’ and that continued this week with K2 scoring her third consecutive victory over Jillian. One could almost dub this a feud if the fans didn’t already know that Jillian would lose each and every match. Raw’s resident jobber brought along her second in command, Katie Lea – that’s nice of her right? So she didn’t have to be humiliated on her own this week. Honestly when you saw Jillian and Katie come out, did you actually think they stood a chance of winning? Though Jillian should think herself lucky to be on TV for nearly a whole month on a show other than ‘When Plastic Surgery Goes Bad’.

Sniping aside, I thought Candice and Kelly worked really well together and the crowd was into both Divas. Honestly, it was neck and neck in terms of cheers for both Divas. Candice looked the best she’s looked since her return, she seemed shaky still at No Mercy, but at this point I think the damage is done. WWE seems to be pushing Kelly into Candice’s old role as top-ish face, I say ‘top-ish’ because hard as they try to push both Divas, Mickie James always wins out with the crowd if there were a choice among the three. I think of Candice and Kelly in a similar vain, they’ve both come in from being unrespected bimbos, let’s be frank, to learning their craft. At this stage of the game, I would judge their in-ring abilities to be equal; I don’t think one is better than the other and I felt as though the moves Kelly did in this match, Candice has or could do and vice versa. Perhaps it’s a bad thing to have two Divas so similar (aside from hair colour) but at the same time, they both seem really popular and put on a decent match against Jillian and Katie. Even if you cannot find it in yourself to compliment their ability, as more ‘conservative’ fans do, you cannot deny that they worked the crowd. Could it be because they were the first on? I’d say that factored in, but Kelly has drawn a huge crowd response over the past couple of weeks from being further down the card also.

I think Kelly came out of this match the stronger winner than Candice, she’s the instigator – the dropkick on Jillian before the match and then coming in and getting the hot tag and finishing the match. Often in the past year, we’d see Mickie do all the work for Candice to take the credit in these tag match as she was pushed for the Women’s Championship and now it seems Kelly is being primed for Candice’s spot. What does that say for Candice? I think there’s more than enough space for her on Raw (personal preferences aside) but I don’t think she’ll receive quite the push she received in 2007, now or in the distinct future looking ahead to 2009. She’s not wholly to blame for being brought back off her game, but I think her ring rust hindered her chances of being champion again and continuing her ‘feud’ with Beth; WWE seems to be writing that off. But that is just my conjecture, in reality, Kelly has only scored a few wins – it hasn’t translated into a storyline with Beth or a match for the title yet.

As for Jillian and Katie, poor Katie! I think she has a lot of potential – though she has been less than impressive in the ring – she has a great look and character that could be built on. WWE seems to have just simply confined her to Jillian #2.

I didn’t watch the Beth segment, so anyone can fill me in the comments. Thanks! For the two seconds we saw Layla, she looked gorgeous with an elongated ‘goooooorrrrrrrrr’. Even if she doesn’t do much, she does it with style.

Perfect 10: Week of October 13th

12

The Perfect 10 returns! The premise is simple: We will rank the ten Divas or Knockouts who we think have had the best week of television, similar to WWE.com’s Power 25. Who will make the grade and who will fall short? It’s all new and exclusive only at Diva Dirt!

WEEK OF OCTOBER 13th – OCTOBER 19th, 2008

10. Michelle McCool (New Entry)
The Divas Champion was barely seen on SmackDown but sent a message to her new No. 1 Contender, Maria, nonetheless. Michelle has been a dominant champion thus far, will she be able to overcome her new challenger?

Erin: As much as I dislike the idea of Maria being a contender, it’ll be nice to see a different opponent for Michelle. Will this twist her babyface image a bit? I sorta hope so.
Melanie: I expect this will be a simple squash on her way to continuing her feud with Maryse

• • • • • • • •

09. Maryse (Last Week: New Entry)
Last week, Maryse fell off the chart after placing #2 the week before. This week she’s back and has to work her way up the ladder. She seemed to do a good job by dominating the ‘Divas Las Vegas’ pole match on SmackDown, despite losing.

Erin: She came pretty close, but she’s had so many title shots, I’m not surprised she was passed over this time. Maybe she and Michelle will resume their feud after Maria gets her shot. Some have even speculated that it could become a triple threat. We’ll see where it goes..
Melanie: Maryse is still the #1 Contender if you ask me, she was built up so strong.

• • • • • • • •

08. ODB (New Entry)
ODB and her tag team partner, Rhaka Khan scored a huge victory over the Beautiful People & Cute Kip at Bound For Glory with their partner, Rhino.

Erin: It’s a step down from being a title contender, but a win’s a win. Someone’s got to put the Beautiful People in their place, and she’s definitely capable of doing that.
Melanie: ODB has rarely been on Impact lately, she could be used far better.

• • • • • • • •

07. Maria (New Entry)
Scoring her biggest victory in her entire career, Maria earned the opportunity to face the Divas Champion, Michelle McCool on SmackDown.

Erin: Her victory really shocked me, as it was starting to look like she was being left behind on SmackDown. I’m not 100% sure she deserves the title shot, however.. But I’m still excited to see how she and Michelle work together – a face vs. face match could be interesting.
Melanie: I agree, a face vs face match is something new and fresh. We’ve seen it done with the Superstars but never the Divas, could make for interesting booking.

• • • • • • • •

06. Roxxi (New Entry)
Despite a loss at Bound For Glory, Roxxi picked up an impressive win over Raisha Saeed on Impact and continued her feud with the dominant Awesome Kong.

Erin: She’s handling the 2-on-1 thing pretty well, but Kong didn’t factor in much on Impact, so it’s tough to tell if Roxxi can really match up or not. Raisha is more of a thorn in her side than anything else, so that victory wasn’t huge. Kong’s the main target.
Melanie: Roxxi is getting a real push at the moment which is so rewarding to see. She may not look beautiful and Diva-ish, but she’s a great talent and it’s nice to see that rewarded.

Whoa, Nelly!

10

You know, I’ve often complained about boring photoshoots, whether it be lack of exciting scenery or dull poses. It seems Mickie James is here to quell those fears, because her new photoshoot “Farm Girl” is pretty much the exact opposite of that. I mean, she’s posing atop a horse, for Pete’s sake! I think it’s safe to say that this may be the most unique photoshoot of the year, unless some brave Diva decides to pose with a shark or something.. Mister Ed aside, Mickie looks quite nice herself, wearing a lovely dress and a bunch of delicate flowers in her hair. She looks every bit a southern girl, and naturally beautiful at that.

Ladies of Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling

16

They’re not exactly Divas but close enough! We’re always looking to expand into new territory, so we decided to watch the first episode of Hulk Hogan’s brand new CMT reality show Celebrity Championship Wrestling. So, let’s meet the ladies of the show:

Left to right: Erin Murphy, Nikki Ziering, Tiffany and Trishelle Cannatella

Recap
In the first episode of CCW, Erin and Nikki were drafted into ‘Team Nasty’, the team led by ‘Nasty Boy’ Brian Knobbs. Meanwhile, Tiffany and Trishelle joined ‘Team Beefcake’ led by Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake. Each week, the teams have to learn three moves and then utilise them in a match before a live crowd in the CCW Arena. This week, the moves were: a kick to the midsection, a forearm smash and a clothesline.

In the ‘Main Event’ show, ‘Team Beefcake’ went first with Tiffany and partner, Danny Bonaduce playing heels against Trishelle and Butterbean (the faces). It was Trishelle and Butterbean who picked up the victory. Then, from ‘Team Nasty’ it was Erin Murphy teaming up with Dennis Rodman against Dustin Diamond and Frank Stallone. The match ended with Rodman and Erin picking up the win.

In judging, Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff and Jimmy Hart decided that ‘Team Nasty’ picked up the overall victory. That meant that one of ‘Team Beefcake’ had to be eliminated. Tiffany became the first celebrity to be eliminated.

Another Porn Hag Wants To Be Wrestler

43

It is an age old story for the new millenium. No longer do we have Cinderella stories to look up to, but porn stars who want to become wrestlers. From Candice to Mickie James, most of our Divas have dabbled in porn or Playboy. So trust porn star, Trina Michaels to fit right in! According to her publicist, she’s giving up “gangbangs to enter battle royals.” Classy choice of words. Trina writes on her MySpace:

I cant say this is my 100% retirement from porn but I will be gone for awhile. I’ve been a wrestling fan for 8 years and over the past year I have meet some really cool people in the WWE, TNA (Total NonStop Action) and several local promotions. I’ve been training for 3 months so far and I am about to take the training to the next level. I hope my fans will follow me in my journey into wrestling and promise I will kick ass.

After doing some Googling, one discovered that even for a porn star, Michaels is really rather fug. Thus no picture to accompany this post. You know what the sad thing is? This is exactly the kind of slut WWE would hire in a heartbeat…

Hit or Miss?: October 13th – 19th

10

Welcome to Hit or Miss?! We’ll be examining the week’s news bits and deeming them hits or misses. For instance, did a Diva develop some backstage heat? That’s a miss. What about a Knockout match receiving the highest ratings of the show? That’s a hit. I’ll rate each story by stars (out of 5) – more stars for a hit, less for a miss. Got it? Let’s dive in..

Story #1: Ashley is a Rebel
Ashley Massaro has been outed as a frequent no-show at her recent public appearances. One promoter felt obligated to blast her carelessness online:

On behalf of myself and my company I would like to apologize to all the fans that anticipated seeing Ashley. As you all know, she pulled another one of her now classic no shows. If some of you weren’t aware Ashley was to appear late saturday night in Atlantic City with her agent and 3 other Playboy playmates. Her agent and the 3 playmates all showed and stayed in the Crowne Plaza, being inconvenienced because they had to sacrifice for the quote on quote wrestling star. As I’m writing this Ashley has still not returned a phone call to myself or her agent stating why she decided to not get on the plane Friday night. I urge fans and other promoters to not support her in the future and make her realize that it is a privilege to be hired to come to conventions not a right she has coming to her.

Looks like this is more than a one-time thing. Does Ashley just enjoy playing hooky? (See the original post.)
Rating:
Hit or Miss?: 1 star makes it a MISS. To be honest, the only reason this story got any stars at all was the amusement derived from it. The fact that she’s hardly a Diva Dirt favorite makes the news that much sweeter. If this is a recurring thing (which is sounds like), then there’s no excuse. Ashley is simply unprofessional and possibly immature in her actions, and hopefully she’ll soon be out of luck and unable to cash in on the mediocre name she made for herself in her short WWE tenure. Stop hiring her, folks.

Story #2: The Halloween Costume Contest returns (hide your children!).
This week, the matches for next week’s Cyber Sunday PPV were announced. Amongst the matches, two Diva events were listed:

• Choose which teams will go one-on-one in a Pick the Tag Team Match. Choose from one of the following matches:
– Tag Team Champs Cody Rhodes/Ted DiBiase vs. CM Punk/Kofi Kingston
– John Morrison/The Miz vs. Cryme Tyme
– Jamie Noble/Mickie James vs. William Regal/Layla
To vote for Jamie Noble & Mickie James vs. William Regal & Layla, TEXT 3 to 44993.

• Beth Phoenix, Divas Champion Michelle McCool, Brie Bella, Candice Michelle, Eve, Jillian, Katie Lea Burchill, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Lena Yada, Maria, Maryse, Natalya, Tiffany, Victoria & Mickie James will compete in a Halloween Costume Contest. They’ll show off their creativity and fans will vote for the best costume.

So, in all likelihood there could be two Diva events in one night. That is, if you’re willing to part with a buck a pop to vote for Mickie and Layla’s match. (See the original post.)
Rating:
Hit or Miss?: 3 stars makes it a HIT. It’s always nice to see Diva involvement on a PPV, but it’s highly likely that Mickie and Layla’s match won’t be voted in. Therefore, all we’ll have is a costume contest. And, if last year’s contest is to be any indicator, it will be pretty lame. There’s always a chance that there could be entertaining and creative costumes, but I’d be willing to bet my life’s savings (take all $20 of it, I don’t care) on the fact that the majority of them will be cliche and trashy shit like Catwoman or “sexy” angels. Talk about overdone!

SmackDown Redux – October 17, 2008

This week on SmackDown: Maria scored an opportunity of a lifetime in a ‘Las Vegas Pole Match’, she will now face Michelle McCool for the Divas Championship.

Thoughts & Reactions
This week’s SmackDown was a real mixed bag. Here’s the thing: I thought the work from the Divas themselves was just fine, the match in terms of ring work was good but a pole match? Really? Raw has it’s battle royals and I guess SmackDown has now adopted the pole match? It was fine when they did it the first time but three times in one year – I hope this was the last one for the remainder of 2008.

Because of the pole situation, the Divas are restricted in what they can do and the match is always formulaic. We always have girls on the outside, two Divas battling it out on the turnbuckle and such. There’s no real focus on the action. The spotlight in this match was firmly on Maryse, even though she lost the match, I don’t think we’ve seen her dropped from the title picture. Even though the focus seemed to be on Maryse and Maria, I was more focussed on following Natalya and Victoria who were really going at it. Is all not well between the BFFs? There wasn’t even any focus on this from JR, which I found slightly odd, as they are supposed to be best friends but they’re going at it. I doubt WWE will pick up on this, but it could be interesting if WWE broke them up. Maybe it’d be the push Natalya needed to be a title contender? Get away from the goofy character Victoria has become? Maria took a pretty sick bump when Maryse pulled her right off the turnbuckle, kudos to her. I really loved that spot, it seems nearly every week now we’re getting these Divas taking real risks and making the action that much more intense. I love that we have Divas who aren’t the best wrestlers as willing to take risks as the likes of Victoria. Brie Bella also took a hit, going into the ring post. Two very good spots that made this match a little more memorable.

The backstage segment with Michelle and Maria was nicely done if a little odd. Obviously they cut out some stuff, because in the spoilers we had Michelle talking about how she’s a competitor. It seems they cut that – maybe because it did come across as heel-ish as I suspected. Instead, they went the route where Michelle respects Maria. But then here’s where it gets really interesting: That cheek pinch? It came across as slightly bitchy and slightly heel-ish. I do hope it amounts to nothing because if you ask me, Michelle is the top face Diva of SmackDown and fills the role really well. I don’t want her to turn heel. As for Michelle’s promo skills lol, stiff as a board. She may have improved in the ring, but her line delivery (as some have pointed out) was almost robotic. Her accent isn’t the most appealing either.

As for the earlier segment with Maryse and Vickie, I have always said it’s kind of endearing when Maryse messes up when speaking English. I find it cute.

So Maria scores a title shot, so where do we go from here? Everyone thought Maryse had this one down. I think the Maria vs Michelle match will end up taking place next week with Maryse interfering and costing Maria the match, continuing her feud with Michelle. This could end up being a triple threat situation or just a forum for Maryse to upstage Michelle again. We’ll see next week!

Tiffany “Banks” Carlton

9

Would you be shocked if I told you that even Tiffany, yes, the dullest of all Divas has something worth learning about? “Interesting” and Tiffany don’t usually go in the same sentence so imagine my surprise when I read that ECW’s resident blonde has a rather famous boyfriend – Mr Carlton Banks himself!

Yes the Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the hit 90s sitcom that made a worldwide star out of the incomparable Will Smith. Tiffany is apparently dating his portrayer, Alfonso Ribeiro which makes me like her a teeny tiny bit more. I know, I know, the 90s were a while ago so here’s a little reminder:

Need I say more?

Mickie & Lilian Break Out the Bikinis

9

Mickie James and Lilian Garcia have taken some time out of the WWE’s south of the border tour to pose for photos in Puerto Rico. Both look fantastic in what looks like an almost impromptu photoshoot. It’s like a second helping of Summer Skin, although by now most of you are probably bracing for the colder weather. If that’s the case, warm up with these photos! Check them out below:

iMPACT Watch: Raisha vs. Roxxi (Oct. 16, 2008)

13

Here at Diva Dirt, we always strive for equal opportunity (hush), so we’re looking to give TNA a bit more coverage. Thus, we’ll be posting each week’s Knockout action on iMPACT. Yesterday’s edition brought us Raisha Saeed (w/ Awesome Kong) vs. Roxxi Laveaux. Watch the match below:

RAISHA SAEED (W/ AWESOME KONG) VS. ROXXI LAVEAUX

All Hail Queen Layla!

11

Layla is Raw’s resident royal, and she looks positively regal in her new photoshoot, “Luscious”. I don’t like her outfit as much as I’ve liked her others – the satiny shirt kind of cheapens it – but she still looks great (I love her bangs). And, no matter how monochromatic the color scheme, you can bet that a Layla photoshoot will never be dull. But maybe she should be wearing jewelry that’s a little more flashy – a crown, perhaps?

SmackDown Watch: Divas Las Vegas (Oct. 17, 2008)

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown seens a “Divas Las Vegas” pole match to determine the new No. 1 Contender for the Divas Champion, Michelle McCool. Watch the match and backstage segments featuring Maryse and Maria below:

Note: A segment featuring Maryse aired before the match. If you so choose to watch the videos in chronological order, the backstage segment with Maryse can be found after the cut. Also after the cut is a video featuring Maria and Michelle after the match.

‘DIVAS LAS VEGAS’ MATCH

Boots + Bridges = Great Photoshoot

16

Like I’ve always said, the scenery makes all the difference in the world. We’re well aware by now that Jillian Hall has had significant work done, but this photoshoot is miles ahead of her recent work. The pedestrian bridge behind her makes for great, unique photos, and her look is a thousand times better. The boots are great. The top is kind of eh, but I’ll take it. Is it a coincidence that huge, eye-catching scenery is needed for a great Jillian photoshoot? Now, I’m not saying we need to be distracted from her gigantic lips, but…

Torrie’s Shoot Interview Available Now!

6

Thanks to the folks at RF Video for letting us know that their shoot interview with Torrie Wilson is now available for purchase on their site! It’s been just one month since the interview was filmed at the Wrestler’s Rescue event in September but the DVD is already on sale! If you ask me, this is a must have for any Torrie fan or any fan of the ‘golden age’ of Divas. I’m certainly looking forward to getting my copy in the mail!

You can purchase the DVD for $20 or $35 for an autographed DVD. Check out more details below:

Torrie Wilson, one of wrestling’s most beautiful divas sat down with RF VIDEO to conduct her first ever shoot interview! For the first time ever you will get a chance to understand the girl that lies beneath the makeup, glitz, and glamour as Torrie walked us through her entire career.

Coming into wrestling from a background of fitness competitions and modeling, Torrie described what it took to be successful in those arenas and compared them to the grueling world of professional wrestling. Going straight into the WCW madhouse, Torrie was around all the big names and controversial events and was more than willing to share her thoughts on all of them. Vince Russo. Eric Bischoff. Hulk Hogan. Randy Savage. Scott Steiner. Kevin Nash. Ric Flair. David Flair. Eddie Guerrero. Shane Douglas. The names and stories come fast and furious. We asked Torrie about the rumors of Kimberley Page being jealous of other girls’ success. Who helped her the most? What were the politics like? How hard was it being a women in such a testosterone filled workplace? How did her romance with Billy Kidman start? We also got Torrie’s reactions to some of the crazy gimmick matches she was a part of, including being in a cage and on top of a scaffold.

Torrie talked about her transition to the WWE and what type of impressions all the Superstars made upon her. Trish Stratus. Vince McMahon. Stacy Kiebler. Tajiri. Dawn Marie. Al Snow. Kurt Angle. Nidia. The Undertaker. Jamie Noble. Sable. Billy Gunn. Triple H. Stephanie McMahon. Carlito. Every major angle and storyline is covered. We asked Torrie point blank about how her family felt about her being in Playboy as well as how it changed her life. Torrie was there to see the fight between Booker T and Batista and gave us her reaction. The shoot also became very emotional when the subject of Chris Benoit came up. This is one DVD where you’ll get an interesting comparison between the workings of WCW and WWE from someone who was in both companies during some truly remarkable times.

As an exciting bonus, we’ve also included a mini edition of FACE OFF with Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie! That’s right, you’ll also getting a bunch of behind the scene stories by two of wrestling’s most well remembered females as they sat together and answered questions about their shared time in WWE. Their favorite angles. Their favorite matches. Their favorite Vince McMahon stories and much, much more. A truly fun segment!

You can pick up the DVD by clicking here. There you can also read the questions asked to Torrie! I’ll be writing up a review as soon as I get my DVD!

Natalya May Need a Straight Jacket

Natalya is turning on her usual (intense) charm for the cameras in “Laced Up”. As usual, her outfit isn’t the most enviable look in the world, but she’s amazing in her ability to go from snarling to smirking without missing a beat. I mean, what other Divas can full-on scream at the camera and look good? Not many. Mood swings? A screw loose? Perhaps.. But what can I say? I like uniqueness.
