TBS Title Match Set For June 7 Dynamite

Kris Statlander continues to be a fighting champion as she is set to face Anna Jay with the TBS Championship on the line this Wednesday. Statlander returned at Double or Nothing and ended the undefeated reign of Jade Cargill.

Last week, Statlander was able to successful defend her title for the first time against Nyla Rose. A house show over the weekend where Anna faced Statlander in a losing effort has her wanting a rematch. This time on Dynamite.

Kamille Reaches Two Years As NWA World Women’s Champion

0

Kamille has reached two years as the NWA World Women’s Champion as June 6 represents 730 days as champion. She defeated Serena Deeb at When Our Shadows Fall event on June 6, 2021.

Kamille made sure she would reach this milestone as she defeated Natalia Markova at the recent Crockett Cup event. Since being champion, Kamille has successfully defended the historic gold 36 times. She has defeated names such as Chelsea Green, Allysin Kay, Taya Valkyrie, Max the Impaler, Kylie Rae, and more.

Before she hit the two-year mark, Kamille spoke to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture where she stated what her future goals were. One of which was to surpass the 760-day reign of June Byers.

“So initially, when I won the title, I think I had either three or four matches with the NWA. So it was quick. When I got it, I set, I didn’t even tell anyone this because I was like, ‘maybe it’s silly,’ but in my head, I was like, ‘I want to have it for a year.’ It was just my own personal goal. I didn’t even tell my husband because we don’t talk about wrestling when we’re not wrestling, but it was my own personal goal. And then a year passed and I was like, ‘Oh, all right. Still going. Still going strong. I don’t I don’t see an end in sight.’ So now we’re almost up on two years. What’s what’s funny is there’s apparently this movie that’s coming out about Mildred Burke’s life. They’re literally making a movie on it and there’s this woman in there also named June Byers, that a lot of people may or may not know about. I think she had a single reign. I think it was like 760 days. So now my my goal is to pass June Byers’ reign and then that will put me in the top five all time NWA Women’s Championship reigns.”

Above June Byers is two combined reigns for MsChif at 916 days and Jazz with one reign at 948 days.

Becky Lynch Talks MITB: It’s The One Thing That I Have Left To Do

0

On the June 5 episode of Raw, Becky Lynch became one of six women to qualify for this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A match that Lynch is very familiar with having been in four prior ones including the inaugural match back in 2017.

Despite Lynch being familiar with the match, winning it has alluded her. She is a highly decorated superstar, has won in the main event of WrestleMania, and is a former Royal Rumble winner. After qualifying for this year’s match, she has a backstage exclusive with Cathy Kelley and she talks about what winning MITB would mean to her.

“I missed the last premium live event that we did in the U.K., so this will be my first premium live event in the U.K. That holds a lot of history for me. I remember when I was 15 years old and taking a plane over to London and staying there with my uncle before I went off on a one-week wrestling summer camp. I remember taking the train and imagining what life would be like as a WWE Superstar, and never really imagining that I could have gotten to where I’ve already gotten in my career, but there is one last thing that you said, and that’s winning the Money in the Bank contract. Every ladder match that I’ve been in, I’ve been the last person on that ladder, holding the briefcase. It has always been in my fingertips, but it’s always slipped away from me. So that’s haunted me. It’s the one thing that I have left to do. It’s the one thing that I can do to feel like my career has been complete. The icing on the cake there is that if Zoey Stark gets into this match, then I get to beat her up with ladders, and it’s sanctioned, and nobody can stop me, and nobody can arrest me. I said I was gonna ruin her life, and I’m gonna ruin her life.

So far joining Lynch in the MITB match this year is Zoey Stark and Zelina Vega. Three more names are yet to be confirmed. There are two more qualifying matches this Friday on SmackDown between Bayley and Michin along with IYO SKY and Shotzi.

Do you think Lynch will finally win MITB this year? Leave your thoughts below.

The KC’s Debut On Raw; Two More Women Added To MITB

Two more women have qualified for the 2023 women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. A match that will take place on July 2.

Heading into the June 5 episode of Raw we only knew one out of six women for the MITB match. That woman is Zelina Vega who qualified on Friday’s SmackDown after defeating Lacey Evans. Now, two more women join Vega and those are Becky Lynch and Zoey Stark.

Lynch defeated Sonya Deville to qualify but it wasn’t for lack of distractions. Not only did Deville have Chelsea Green at ringside with her but Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark emerged who have a special interest in taking down Lynch. In the end, Lynch would get the ManHandle Slam on Deville to give herself a victory.

Speaking of Stark, she would be the second woman on Raw to qualify after taking out the veteran Natalya with a Z360. This result came after Stratus tripped up Nattie at the ropes unbeknownst to the referee. It is very good for Stark to have a Hall of Famer in her corner!

We will find out who will take spots four and five this week on SmackDown. As a reminder, Michin takes on Bayley as IYO SKY battles Shotzi.

A third women’s match took place on Raw. The new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey continued to feel confident after their victory and encouraged any other tag team to stand up to them. NXT Alum and former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and newcomers to Raw – Kayden Carter and Katana Chance – did just that. The KC’s had their in ring debut against the champs in a non title affair.

The match was given a good length of time and the KC’s took the champs to their limits. They even delivered the After Party which gave them so many wins in the past but Shayna Baszler made sure to pull Chance off of Rousey to continue the match. Rousey even went for the ankle lock which Chance was able to escape. Eventually, the champs would win after Baszler locked in the Kirifuda Clutch on Carter who tapped out.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was a feature on Miz TV as Dominik Mysterio was a special guest. He traded words with Cody Rhodes before slapping him and running scared behind Mami to protect him. Of course Cody wouldn’t touch Rhea but perhaps another Rhodes would.

Lastly, Maxxine Dupri appeared backstage with Alpha Academy. They talked about her interaction with Valhalla last week and they think she is ready to take her own. Gable says he will help train her but she has to get her gear on.

Raw Discussion Post: 06.05.23

There are two Money in the Bank qualifying matches set for tonight’s show.

First, Zoey Stark takes on Natalya while Becky Lynch faces Sonya Deville. The only woman so far that has qualified is Zelina Vega from SmackDown.

Last week, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Will we see them tonight?

Discuss tonight’s show below.

Blair Davenport Returns To The Ring On NXT June 6

0

Blair Davenport is not set to return to in-ring action this Tuesday on June 6. She will be facing Dani Palmer.

Davenport returned to NXT last week as she was revealed as the mystery attacker. She was called out by Palmer who had been one of her victims.

This is the second women’s match confirmed for this week as there will be a number one contender Battle Royal. The winner will go on to face Tiffany Stratton.

Check back in Tuesday with Diva Dirt to chat about the show live.

Natalya Talks Ownership Of The Word “Bitch”

Come on you guys!!

The favorite meme queen of wrestling Natalya spoke to Ring the Belle recently about her iconic moments. One of which is her frequent use of “bitch” in both promos and matches.

“I don’t think anybody has embraced the word bitch the way that I have, and I’m proud of it. I think I have ownership of that word at this point, and I’m damn proud of it. That line has really brought me so much joy,” Natalya said.

What’s your favorite Natalya moment?

DD Power 15: May 29 to June 03

0

Welcome to this week’s Power 15 Rankings curated by us here at Diva-Dirt. This week we are reviewing women’s action across several companies. We are including NXT Battleground and AEW Double or Nothing in this week’s ranking.

As well as the 15 women featured, two wildcards will be featured each week chosen by Nick and Gary. These wildcards are for women who didn’t quite make the ranking but are ones to watch for the week ahead. Without further ado, let’s get in to it.

Please Note: This list is subjective to us at Diva Dirt. We encourage our readers for respectful and enjoyable conversations.

Gary’s Wildcard – Ivy Nile

Since splitting from her former partner, Tatum Paxley, Ivy Nile has mostly been ringside in support of The Diamond Mine but most of us remember how dominant Nile was in her earlier days of competition and long for a return to form from Nile.

She won’t be participating in the battle royal set for this week’s episode but does seem to be seeking a match with Ava in what will hopefully be a pit stop on her road to championship contendership down the line.

Nick’s Wildcard – Thea Hail

Chase U seems to be going in a different direction as of late with some new teachers on board that seems to have inspired a more aggressive Thea Hail.

In the celebration for our new NXT Women’s Champion, a brawl would break out as the locker room pounced on Tiffany Stratton but it would be Hail who struck the first blow after rushing the ring first. If Hail could survive all other competitors, she could make for an interesting first challenger to Stratton’s reign.

Emma & Riddick Moss Announce Engagement

0

WWE Raw Superstars Emma and Riddick (Madcap) Moss have announced their engagement. Emma took to her social media ro share pictures and a caption that reads –

“I said yes a million times in my head before you even asked.”

Emma returned to WWE in October 2022 after five years away from the company. She spent tht time on the indies and in IMPACT Wrestling. She first joined SmackDown and was at the side of Moss during his matches.

The couple went public with their relationship in August 2022 but it is unknown how long they’ve been together.

Diva Dirt sends our congratulations to the happy couple.

Zelina Vega Qualifies For Money in the Bank

Zelina Vega becomes the first out of six women to qualify for the 2023 Money in the Bank Ladder Match. She defeated Lacey Evans on the June 2 episode of SmackDown in a short match. Evans dominated most of the match and even hit a Women’s Right before the bell rang. Vega won with a Code Red.

Prior to this match there was a segment for the Grayson Waller Effect. His guest was the new Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. Waller hyped up Asuka’s title win from Night of Champions and commended her with how she used the blue mist. It didn’t take long for someone to interrupt and that was IYO SKY.

Asuka and SKY argue back in forth about SKY claiming that she will enter and win the Money in the Bank match and cash in on Asuka. Bayley’s music would hit next. Bayley would come out and say what SKY means is that one of them will win MITB as Damage CTRL will be well represented. Shotzi, Evans, and Vega would all come our afterwards to say their peace.

Asuka snuck out of the ring and made her way up the ring. But she was jumped from behind by Bianca Belair as the two had to be pulled apart by officials.

Next week it has been confirmed that Michin will take on Bayley while SKY will take on Shotzi.

Michin joined her fellow OC crew to the ring for a tag team match with Hit Row. Michin and B-Fan traded words on Twitter all day long but did not get physical ringside.

There was a vignette for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.

SmackDown Discussion Post: 06.02.23

First MITB qualifying match takes place tonight between Zelina Vega and Lacey Evans.

It has been rumored that the new Raw Women’s Champion Asuka will be on the Grayson Waller Effect.

Enjoy.

Knockouts World Title Match Set For IMPACT Slammiversary

This week’s IMPACT featured two Knockouts matches and some big pay-per-view updates.

Trinity was in action once again when she battled “The Cannibal” Savannah Evans fresh off her win over Gisele Shaw at Under Siege. Evans showcased her dominance early on, but Trinity continued to outsmart her as the bout progressed. Once Starstruck was applied, Evans had no choice but to tap out.

After the match, Trinity called out Deonna Purrazzo. To cut to the chase, Trinity challenged Deonna to a Knockouts title match at Slammiversary. Deonna accepted right before Evans, Shaw, and Jai Vidal attacked them. Jordynne Grace tried making the save but was ultimately out-powered. Shaw hit her with a few running knee strikes to send a message.

Dani Luna made her IMPACT in-ring debut against Jody Threat. This wasn’t a typical Threat squash match that we’ve come to be familiar with. Rather, Luna was able to showcase her style that matched Threat’s intensity. Despite the nearfalls over Threat, Luna was ultimately pinned to end their battle.

Looking ahead to next week, The Death Dollz will challenge The Coven for the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship after they won a non-title match at Under Siege.

Then the next night at Against All Odds, Trinity and Purrazzo will team up to take on Shaw and Evans. It was previously confirmed that Killer Kelly and Masha Slamovich will meet in the first Knockouts Dog Collar match.

Statlander Defends, Baker And Cole Win AEW Dynamite Main Event

The post-Double or Nothing episode of Dynamite featured two matches from the women’s division.

Kris Statlander wasted no time in being a fighting champion as she put her new TBS Championship on the line against Nyla Rose.

In the latter half of the bout, Statlander came back with a running knee, which weakened Rose for a Blue Thunder Bomb. Kris went up top but was tripped before Rose cannon-balled out of the ring. Back in the ring, Rose delivered a chokeslam, but Statlander responded with a jawbreaker followed by a 450 splash to retain. An eager Taya Valkyrie was shown backstage watching the bout.

New AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm appeared in a backstage interview alongside The Outcasts. Storm confirmed she will defend her title at the AEW House Rules shows this weekend.

In the main event, Saraya teamed with Chris Jericho to take on Britt Baker and Adam Cole. At one point, Toni Storm and Ruby Soho ran down to attack Baker, but Hikaru Shida made the save with a kendo stick in hand.

As the action broke down, Baker was prepared to splash on Saraya when Jericho laid on top his partner to protect her. Baker splashed on both of them anyway. Later, Britt applied a Lockjaw on Jericho, but Saraya broke it up. In the end, Cole pinned Jericho to win the match for their team.

Friday’s Rampage will be a championship-filled show as Willow Nightingale will defend her new NJPW STRONG Women’s title against Emi Sakura.

Maxxine Dupri Talks Training, Total Divas, And Prior Injury

0

Raw Superstar Maxxine Dupri sat down recently with Ryan Satin on Out of Character. Dupri, formerly know as Sofia Cromwell in NXT, was called up to the main roster and originally places as manager of the Maximum Male Models. Now she is the woman in charge of Alpha Academy.

While talking about her time in NXT and her call up along with being injured, she states – (per Fightful)

“I signed in October 2021 and then I went up in July (2022). I was only on TV for a month or two,” she said about her NXT run. “I fractured my fibula. That happened in May or June. In hindsight, I think that was a really big blessing because I wasn’t doing much in NXT because I was injured. When they were looking at who was going to be Maxxine, that ended up being a positive and allowed me heal. I was in NXT working with Von (Wagner) and (Robert) Stone, which was amazing and so much fun. I obviously wasn’t doing very much because Stone was managing Von, and I was with him, and I would get a few lines, but it was still ‘she’s new, let’s dip our toes in it.’ They started advertising this new character Maxxine was going to join Maximum Male Models. They promoted it for like three weeks, and I didn’t know that whole time, I had no idea.”

She continued, “The week before, they were in Orlando, we all went and watched, they advertised it again and I thought, ‘it has to be someone who is LA Knight’s sister, there’s no way. I’m not ready yet. I’m not healed.’ The next week, the week Maxxine is supposed to debut, I go to sleep on Wednesday and don’t get a text. ‘Okay, it’s not me,’ but I had this weird gut feeling. ‘It’s not me, next opportunity.’ I wake up on Thursday to go to training at 7 AM and I have a text from travel, ‘we need you at SmackDown tomorrow.’ I text the lead writer at NXT, ‘I’m heard I’m needed for SmackDown. Do you know what’s going on?’ I go to skull to watch film, I pulled my coach aside, ‘I got this text, I don’t know what’s going on.’ ‘No stress, they probably want to see you in person or maybe they’re bringing Von up for a dark match.’ Now, it’s 10 AM and I get to meet with the lead writer and he’s like, ‘What’s going on?’ ‘I don’t know, I heard I’m needed for SmackDown.’ ‘Let me check my email. Alright, you’re Maxxine. You’re flying out today.’ My flight is in four hours. I ran home, had to get a spray tan, packed my bag, hit the road, and took off from there.”

She was asked further if she questioned why she was selected to be in the Maxxine Dupri role –

“I didn’t. I think I got lucky and maybe somebody saw something special in me that they thought would work well as Maxxine, I’m not sure, I’m just so thankful for the opportunity.”

Dupri also talks about her training. She states that she is being trained most by Norman Smiley but also works with Dana Brooke and Nikki Cross before Raw.

When talking about what inspired her to want to become a WWE Superstar she gave that credit to Total Divas. Adding to that she says how the show opened the door to many more fans of WWE. She cites Nikki Bella as her favorite.

The full interview can be viewed below –

Kris Statlander vs. Nyla Rose Set For May 31 Dynamite

The brand new TBS Champion Kris Statlander will be in action on tonight’s Dynamite against Nyla Rose.

Statlander made her big return from injury at Double or Nothing last Sunday. She answered an open challenge by Jade Cargill after Cargill had already retained the gold and made her win streak 60-0 against Taya Valkyrie.

The title will be on the line in Statlander’s first defense against the former AEW Women’s World Champion.

Also for tonight’s Dynamite will be Saraya and Chris Jericho vs. Britt Baker and Adam Cole.

Diva Dirt will have results up after the show.

Dog Collar Match Set For IMPACT’s Against All Odds

The first Knockouts match has been confirmed for IMPACT’s Against All Odds event on June 9.

The last time these two met was a few weeks ago on an episode of IMPACT. Slamovich picked up the win but Kelly looked good in defeat with a post-match antics. She kept the Killer Clutch submission hold on Slamovich.

What can these two do in a dog collar match?!

Check back in with Diva Dirt for more news and results from the Knockouts of IMPACT.

The announcement came on the Tamron Hall Show that they appeared on Wednesday. This is the first child for the couple while Graves has three children that Carmella is a step parent to.

Carmella first confirmed her pregnancy at the beginning of the month. She is due in November. The last we saw of Carmella in WWE was when she was pulled from a tag team alongside Chelsea Green prior to WrestleMania. She helped unveil the WrestleMania stage.

Diva Dirt continues to send our congrats to Carmella and Corey.

NXT Women’s Battle Royal Set For June 6

0

For those that missed the May 30 episode of NXT missed the Tiffybration as the new NXT Women’s Champion addressed the women’s locker room. In fact, she demanded that they came out to ringside to find out who her first opponent would end up being.

As the women make their way out, Stratton starts to mock them. She says that while she was on her way home from Battleground she had a Tiffany Epiphany. There will be a women’s Battle Royal next week to determine her first opponent. She continues the celebration as balloons and confetti fall.

The women surrounding the ring had enough as Thea Hail, Fallon Henley, Roxanne Perez, and Lyra Valkyria attack the champ. Stratton retreats from the ring as all the women get into the ring. Stratton yells that her Tiffybration has been ruined.

Hail had another segment with Chase U as Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey continue to train her.

The night opened with a Weaponized Steel Cage Match between Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne. And what a match it was. Easily the best between the two. The final moments of the match had Dolin slamming Jayne’s face into the cage from the top rope. She followed up by choke slamming Jayne through a table and pinning her for the victory.

Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson appeared throughout the show as part of the new stable with Noam Dar and Oro Mensah.

Ivy Nile and Ava’s feud has boiled over as the two continue to fight. Nile came down to attack Ava during the Dyad vs Wes Lee & Tyler Bate match. Ava attempted to do the same during ghe Ivy Nile vs. Cora Jade match. A match Jade won after the Ava distraction cost Nile a loss.

Moments later, Nile stated she wanted Ava in the ring next week. The Creed Brothers said the same about Dyad. Not official but we will most likely get a six person tag match for next week.

The NXT attacker was revealed to be Blair Davenport. More can be read here.

Check back in for more news and results from the women of NXT.

Blair Davenport Revealed As NXT Mystery Attacker

0

It has been Blair Davenport all along!

The NXT mystery attacker started taking out member of the women’s locker room starting back in January. In the NXT parking lot filled with suspects, no one saw who attacked Nikkita Lyons, taking her out of action.

The attacks since then continued with Wendy Choo, Sol Ruca, Dani Palmer (at a house show), and Roxanne Perez. On the May 30 episode of NXT, fans waited for the attacker to reveal herself but no one was more ready than Palmer.

Palmer took to the ring to demand that the attacker reveal herself. After a montage of her attacks appeared on screen, she appeared behind Palmer and took her out. She then revealed herself to be – Blair Davenport.

The NXT crowd has not seen Davenport since she took on Mandy Rose and Meiko Satomura for the unification of the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Championships. That match was won by Rose and took place last September at Worlds Collide.

What will Davenport have to say for her actions?

NXT Discussion Post: 05.30.23

Coming out of Battleground we have a new NXT Women’s Champion! The division now belongs to Tiffany Stratton, how will she be introduced as new champion tonight?

Tonight the feud between Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne will come to a head in a Weaponized Stee Cage Match.

The NXT attacked will be revealed tonight. This assailant has taken out Nikkita Lyons, Wendy Choo, Sol Ruca, Dani Palmer, and last week attacked Roxanne Perez. Who could it be?!?

Enjoy the show!

Alexa Bliss Announces Pregnancy

0

Alexa Bliss has announced that she and husband Ryan Cabrera are pregnant with their first child.

Bliss took to social media to confirm the news and that baby Cabrera will be born in December. The caption reads, “The best moments in life are the completely unexpected.” The couple have been together since 2020 and were married in 2022.

Bliss has not been in the ring or on WWE television since she was defeated by Bianca Belair at the Royal Rumble. She also did not take part of the WWE draft and this explains why. She has however been on numerous game and competition shows such as The Masked Singer and That’s My Jam with The Miz.

Diva Dirt sends our huge congrats to both Alexa and Ryan on their exciting news.

New Women’s Tag Team Champs Crowned; Two MITB Qualifiers Set For June 5

On the May 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, new WWE Women’s Tag Tam Champions were crowned in a Fatal Four Way. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler became the new champions against Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi, Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, and Damage CTRL.

The match received a decent amount of time and in that Rodriguez was very much the focal point through most the match. However, the final moments of the match came down to Shotzi and Ronda Rousey. Shotzi attempted a back drop from the top rope but landed into an arm bar and tapped out to Rousey.

Elsewhere on the show, Trish Stratus gave a promo and introduced her help from Night of Champions – Zoey Stark. Becky Lynch would come out but be attacked by both women to end the segment.

Maxxine Dupri seems to be fully with the Alpha Academy now. She came to the ring dressed in a “shoosh” shirt during her teams match against Imperium. Valhalla appeared and went after Dupri. She gave her a kick to the head before running and screaming away with Valhalla chasing her to the back.

There were two vignettes aired – one for Kayden Carter and Katana Chance and the other for Candice LeRae.

Two qualifying matches for Money in the Bank are set for next week. Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark vs. Natalya.

DD Power 15: May 21 to May 28

Gary’s Wildcard – Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson

It finally looks like we will see the tandem of Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson get involved in the main NXT show after being LvL Up mainstays for some time.

At Battleground, Jackson would hit the ring during the Heritage Cup match and appear to go to strike Dragon Lee until the referee stopped her. This proved to be a ploy as Legend would then appear through the crowd and clobber Lee with a bucket and aid Noam Dar in retaining his cup.

This move comes as somewhat of a swerve as the two seemed unimpressed by Dar in recent weeks but this new stable, also featuring Mensah, will be an interesting watch on NXT.

Nick’s Wildcard – Saki Kashima

Seems to have been the week for long title reigns to come to an end as, after winning a triple threat match featuring AZM and Fukigen Death, Saki Kashima would end AZM’s 458 day reign as High Speed Champion.

This makes Kashima the 23rd champion for the title and, as she noted on Twitter, the first singles title she has won in her 12 year career!

Raw Discussion Post: 05.29.23

We have reached the fall out of Night of Champions and Rhea Ripley made short work of Natalya to remain SmackDown Women’s Champion.

We are looking forward to Money in the Bank and qualifying matches start tonight.

Plus there is a Fatal Four Way tonight to crown new tag champs.
