Paige will be leaving her time with WWE as of July 7. The former two-time Divas Champion took to her social media this afternoon to give the news. She first signed with WWE in 2011 at the age of 18.
In her post, she thanked WWE for making her feel like a superstar and for also keeping her around after her neck injury took her out of the ring. She returned to the ring after surgery in 2017 as the leader of Absolution (Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville). Shortly thereafter she would have another injury to her neck that would take her out of action moving forward. She has continued to remain in high spirits that one day she can return to the ring.
After her time in the ring, WWE utilized her as a General Manager for SmackDown until that role was removed. She became the manager for The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) in 2019. Her last on-screen appearance was via Skype on SmackDown in 2020 when she notified Bayley of her WrestleMania opponents.
Paige is also the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion after winning a tournament in the finals against Emma. She would go on to have a memorable feud and eventual partnership with AJ Lee. This started when she won her first Divas Championship on her first night on Raw the night after WrestleMania XXX. A memory that holds over 10 million views on YouTube.
