WWE has given NXT and 205 Live referee Chloe Christmas the new ring name Paige and former Divas Champion Paige responded.
To coincide with the name change the referee changed her Twitter handle to @RefPaigeWWE. The original Paige then posted the well-known meme of Spider-Man pointing at another web-slinger accompanied with a laughing emoji.
Referee Paige replied with a gif of Rob Lowe stating “That is literally the greatest name I’ve ever heard”.
Christmas was an aspiring wrestler who signed with WWE earlier this year. She donned the stripes to referee on NXT 2.0, and most recently on Erica Yan’s 205 Live debut.
The Anti Diva retired from in-ring action in 2018 after a string of neck injuries. She became SmackDown General Manager the same year before managing the team of Kairi Sane and Asuka known as the Kabuki Warriors. She then joined the panel on the short-lived FS1 show WWE Backstage.
Despite her retirement, she recently revealed that her neck feels great and has hinted at a comeback.
