As we bring in the new year, the pro-wrestling world is surrounded with talk about the ‘Women’s Revolution’ in WWE reaching another step by holding its first ever Women’s Royal Rumble!
We finally got confirmation that 30 women will be taking part in the Rumble, leaving our minds to start all the fantasy booking of all the amazing women athletes that we’d love to see getting involved. The current WWE roster has 19 active women’s wrestlers NOT including the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. So far, Asuka, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Mickie James, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, all three factions of Absolution, the Riott Squad and the Welcoming Committee confirmed their places in the Rumble, meaning that there are still 17 positions left.
A little quick maths means that once Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke inevitably get added to the match, then that means there are 11 juicy spots open!
Over the last few years, the Royal Rumble has become known for its unpredictability: unpredictable winners, unpredictable eliminations and most importantly, unpredictable entrants. As soon as this match was announced, our brains started whirring with excitement – not just for the match itself, but we all know that the possibilities are endless.
Now, while rumours are rife about a certain Ronda Rousey taking part in this match, we’ve omitted her for this list, because we know loads of other women that we want to take the other spots!
