It is being reported by WrestleVotes that there was an original plan for Fire & Desire to call it quits as a tag team leading up to WrestleMania. This was a result of the recent storyline involving Heavy Machinery and Dolph Ziggler/Robert Roode. For the past several months, Mandy Rose was originally in a potential love story with Otis. This relationship hit a fork in the road when Otis was “running late” for his Valentine’s Day date with Rose.
The date, however, didn’t turn out as planned for Otis. When he showed up, he witnessed Ziggler at the table with Rose enjoying each other’s company. Since then, Rose has seemed to move on with Ziggler.
Foul play was suggested from the date. There was a mysterious text message that Otis apparently received stating that Rose was “running late,” according to Tucker. This would be why Otis showed up after Ziggler. It was never confirmed who sent the text that Rose knew nothing about. It could have been her Fire & Desire partner – Sonya Deville.
If what WrestleVotes states
The team did pick up a win on last week’s SmackDown against Dana Brooke and Carmella.
With WrestleMania being moved to the WWE Performance Center with no live audience, this idea may have been scrapped. The breakdown between Rose and Deville would also have to take place over the next couple of weeks if this were to still come to fruition. WrestleMania may just continue with the matches already announced at this time.
As for potential other women’s matches at the event, there is no word on a SmackDown Women’s Championship match. There have, however, still been comments about a Women’s Tag Team Title match. That would be between The Kabuki Warriors and Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross if it were to take place.
