PPV Predictions: TNA Against All Odds 2011

Who’ll be the Last Knockout Standing tonight? The Diva Dirt team weigh in…

April: Given the considerable amount of loaded glove usage in recent weeks, I’m going to have to say Mickie. I’ve stood behind my opinion that TNA needs a new Knockouts Champion. It isn’t that Madison doesn’t deserve it, she’s great at what she does but she’s stale. Her title defenses are few and far between. I’m pretty sure her reign has focused more on her partnership with Tara than Madison as the actual champion. I’d like to see Mickie take it and perhaps feud with Sarita over the gold. Their chemistry in the ring impresses me and I think Sarita has it coming. She’s done a lot in TNA and she grows on me more and more each week. So it is time to switch things up and give us a new champion.

Cryssi: It seems like I say this every time Mickie gets a championship shot. She’s going to win the belt. This time, it’s actually going to come true despite the fact I think it shouldn’t. Mickie’s been trying to win the Knockouts Championship since she arrived in TNA and finally in this Last Knockout Standing match she is going to achieve what’s probably been her goal since day one. I expect herself and Madison to tear each other shreds and after some botched interference from Tara, Mickie is gonna land the knockout (no pun intended, haha) blow. Madison will be down for the ten count and the Hardcore Country Queen, Mickie, will begin her reign as the Queen of TNA.

David: I think tonight is finally the night Mickie James captures the TNA Knockouts Championship. Mickie challenges Madison Rayne in a Last Knockouts Standing match at Against All Odds, and after months of waiting I think Mickie fans will finally see her win the title. The only problem is this type of stipulation – any “last person standing” type match – often leads to a lot of outside interference and craziness at the end, so it’s possible Madison could get some help and retain her title. But I think that would be a mistake. Mickie has come to TNA and made an imprint on the Knockouts, breathing some life into their programming, and it’s time for her to be on top. I would ditch the Hardcore Country theme song, but there is no denying Mickie’s talent and connection to the fans. Tonight that should be rewarded. Mickie wins.

Erin: Mickie’s been chasing that title for a while now, whether it’s been through the Tara buffer or by battling Madison herself. Most of the time, though, it seems as though the odds have been in Madison and Tara’s favor–2 Knockouts are better than one, I suppose. So, while Mickie’s been playing the relative underdog, Madison’s been playing dirty, and this Sunday’s “Last Man Standing” match is meant to lay all the cards on the table and let the two women go all out. This will allow Mickie to get as dirty as Madison has been in these last few weeks, and I think that enough will tip the scales in her favor. She’s been building up to an eventual title run for quite a while now, and I think this match may finally be the moment where she captures it. This match, seemingly with all the odds stacked against her–no rules doubtlessly making the way for an appearance by Madison’s favorite glove and her favorite Knockout, Tara–is the perfect opportunity for a true babyface triumph. Mickie will win, beating the odds, winning the Knockouts Championship, and giving Madison and Tara a taste of their own (knock out) medicine.

Melanie: Unless they do a stupid swerve just to be ‘unpredictable’ on pay per view (and then probably do a title switch on Impact this coming week), Mickie wins.

Steven: This Mickie/Madison feud has been going on for quite some time now and I think it’s about time it comes to a end. All signs point to Madison dropping the title tonight, but the question is, who will be the next person to step up to the plate. Expect Mickie to leave the Impact Zone as champion tonight.
