VXT are still champions, but Deonna Purrazzo is looking to add another belt to her collection.
IMPACT opened with VXT’s Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green defending the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Championship against Mia Yim and Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace. Green and Grace started off the match, but Purrazzo finished off the match by pinning Grace to retain.
Later on in the show, VXT confronted Gail Kim backstage about how Purrazzo has earned a title match. Kim announced The Virtuosa will take on Masha Slamovich next week with the winner moving on to challenge Jordynne Grace at Bound For Glory on October 7.
Elsewhere in the Knockouts division, Jessicka made her “in-ring debut” by defeating Alisha Edwards with ease. Rosemary was at ringside to watch every second of Jessicka’s dominance.
In addition to Purrazzo vs. Slamovich, it has also been confirmed that Mickie James will appear on the September 1 episode to address her future.
