Qualifying Matches To Take Place To Determine New NXT Women’s Champion

It appears that Roxanne Perez will no longer be the NXT Women’s Champion heading into Stand & Deliver and a new champion will be crowned at that event. On the March 7 episode of NXT, Perez retained the championship in the main event against Meiko Satomura. However, after Satomura congratulated her and handed Perez the belt, she passed out face-first and had to be rushed to the hospital.

In a new Twitter post just an hour ago Shawn Michaels said the following on Perez’s status heading into tonight’s episode.

“As of Friday morning, Roxanne Perez was discharged from the hospital. However, after numerous tests, Roxanne’s health is still in question. With Stand and Deliver in less than three weeks, I have the obligation to announce we possibly have to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion.”

At the same time, Michaels concluded that “Starting tonight, there will be a series of qualifying matches with the winners advancing to Stand and Deliver to compete to become the NXT Women’s Champion in a Ladder Match.”

The participants in the match have not been determined, but we will find out what takes place tonight.
