Queen of the Mountain Announced for the Knockouts World Title at Slammiversary

As IMPACT! is celebrating 20-years, the Knockouts are ready to have another first. It was announced on this week’s IMPACT! that the very first Queen of the Mountain Match will be taking place at Slammiversary and it will be for the Knockouts World Championship.

As announced by Gail Kim, the participants will be the champion Tasha Steelz vs. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Mia Yim. Slammiversary takes place on June 19. At this time, this is the first Knockouts match confirmed for the event.

The rules should follow that of King of the Mountain matches that IMPACT/TNA have produced in the past. The last match of this type took place in 2016.

Before Kim could announce the fifth competitor (Mia Yim), Steelz interrupted the announcement. Once Kim confirmed Yim was the fifth competitor, an irate Steelz was tired of someone being picked off the streets and cutting the line. The lights went out and Yim arrived battling Steelz and Savannah Evans.

The rest of the competitors join the fight with Purrazzo joining Steelz and Evans. WIth the three-on-one assault, Jordynne Grace and Taya Valkyrie joined the fight to even the odds. It would be Yim, Grace, and Valkyrie standing tall at the end of the segment.

On next week’s show on May 19 the following six-woman tag team match has been booked – Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, & Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie, Jordynne Grace, & Mia Yim.

Also on this week’s IMPACT! the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles were on the line. The Influence successfully defended against Gisele Shaw and Alisha to retain the gold.
