Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai made history at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day by winning the first-ever NXT women’s Dusty Classic. The duo defeated Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart in a thrilling and fantastic match.
The frantic, back-and-forth action began instantly with Moon and Blackheart working well to keep Gonzalez out of the match. Kai was singled out expertly for the beginning of the match, but the tables turned when Gonzalez stormed in and cleaned house. Her impressive power and strength were on full display as she tossed Moon and Blackheart about the ring effortlessly.
The match was full of breathtaking and high-octane spots that burst out of the screen. All four competitors worked and gelled excellently in and out of the ring and gave the fans a match worthy of the historic moment.
The end of the match came after a sequence of brutal bumps that saw Moon get slammed onto and then off the entrance ramp. Blackheart left all alone fell victim to Gonzalez’s incredible one-armed powerbomb. Both Gonzalez and Kai covered her for the hard-fought victory and became the first-ever NXT women’s Dusty Classic winners.
The duo now get the opportunity to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championships in the future.
