Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai reached the last page in their rivalry which has encompassed the second half of the year. It all culminated in a Street Fight where Gonzalez and Kai laid out everything they had (and even before they got to the ring).
Before the match even started, Gonzalez was heading to the ring. Kai attacked her in the backstage area and the two battle all over including outside before finally making it to the ring. After using everything around them backstage, they continued to pull out all the weapons at ringside.
Kendo sticks, trash cans, tables, the steel steps, and more came into play. After a boot to the face of Kai, Gonzalez planted her nemesis through a trash can with a powerbomb to secure the victory.
After the match, Gonzalez demanded an NXT Women’s Title rematch and called out the champion, Mandy Rose. Cora Jade first answered the call and threw her name out there to face Rose. After a back and forth between Gonzalez and Jade, Rose came on the screen to announce a Triple Threat Match for New Year’s Evil between the three on Jan. 4.
The second match of the night was Io Shirai vs. Elektra Lopez. The two had a run-in earlier in the day while Zoey Stark was having her rehab appointment from her injury. Lopez confirmed that she isn’t afraid of Shirai. She was confident in taking out Shirai and this booked the biggest match of Lopez’s career thus far.
Lopez held her own in the match against Shirai until her love interest Xyon Quinn got involved. After Quinn took out the members of Legado del Fantasma ringside, he hopped on the apron with mistletoe and lured Lopez in to have a kiss. Legado del Fantasma pulled him off the ring apron which gave Shirai an opening. She delivered an open palm strike before hitting her moonsault to get the pin.
After the match, it appeared it was all a ruse on the part of Quinn as he tossed the mistletoe in the ring as he backed away.
Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta were backstage having a discussion about their match being postponed. They were approached by Grayson Waller which enraged Hartwell who is still upset at what he did to Johnny Gargano a couple of weeks ago.
