Raquel Rodriguez has made a bold statement.
Rodriguez and Liv Morgan are in their third reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, which is record setting. Rodriguez herself has set two records as she is actually a four-time champ as well (she held the title previously with Aliyah). This ties her with Asuka, who has four reigns as well.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Rodriguez discusses tag team dominance.
“Well yeah, me and Liv are the greatest female tag team ever. I mean, you can’t deny it. We’re the first three time. Look at us work like a team. I mean, the past two matches, we’ve had tag matches with Dakota and Iyo, banger, the one we just had the other day when we won these bad boys back, banger, we can’t help it,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez and Morgan recently capture the tag titles from Bianca Belair and Naomi. They have yet to defend them, but Rodriguez is hoping for a WrestleMania match.
“I definitely think I go to WrestleMania as Tag Team Champions, and me and Liv retain whoever it is that we will face. Then after that, I think we hold on to these bad boys for as long as we can, and we become the longest reigning, three-time greatest ever World breaking Women’s Tag Team Champions. And then possibly, who knows? If Liv gets a singles opportunity, and she gets to be Liv two belts, maybe there’s an opportunity for me to also be Raquel two belts and get a singles opportunity. You know, that Intercontinental title looks really pretty, and so does Chelsea’s United States Championship. Since I’ve been visiting SmackDown more, I’ve been admiring it a little bit more from afar,” she said.
Rodriguez attempted to become a double champion on the March 24 episode in a match against the Women’s Intercontinental Champion – Lyra Valkyria.
