Bianca Belair has her opponent for the upcoming SummerSlam event and it is going to be Becky Lynch. Lynch has been rising back to the top and wants to face Belair at the same event she defeated her in 26 seconds just last year. At that time it was for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Belair would get payback on Lynch at WrestleMania taking the Raw Women’s Title from her.
In another rematch between Belair and Carmella, the Raw Women’s Title was on the line on the July 18 episode of Raw in Tampa, Fla. Prior to the match, Lynch opened the show on the mic stating that regardless of who is Raw Women’s Champion she will be facing them at SummerSlam.
Carmella defeated Belair last week due to a count-out and distraction by Lynch. This week, the match had a stipulation where if Carmella won by count-out she would win the title. Before the match, Lynch hit the ManHandle Slam on the champion and Carmella tried to take advantage of that attack to win the championship. She wouldn’t be able to capitalize and Belair would eventually hit the K.O.D. to get the victory and retain the gold.
Belair vs. Lynch is the second women’s match added to SummerSlam. Liv Morgan will be defending her SmackDown Women’s Title for the first time against Ronda Rousey.
