Hello everyone, welcome to the honor club! This week, on the first episode of the year, we had two women’s matches.
First to open the show, we had a title match for the ROH Women’s World Television Championship. Red Velvet defended her title against Hanako.
Velvet started mocking her challenger, and avoiding her offense. She was then able to take control by isolating an attack on Hanako’s leg.
Hanako’s strength and size allowed her to make a comeback. After avoiding Hanako’s torture rack. Velvet trash talked a fan and hit her stir it up spinning kick to the head for a near fall.
Hanako was able to grab Velvet in a torture rack position once again, only for La Chef to finger Hanako’s eyes, allowing her to hit her with a sommersault cutter for the win.
Later in the night, former minion bff, Lexy Nair interviewed Red Velvet, asking her about her match at Final Battle. As she was answering the question, Leyla Hirsch interrupted and got in the champ’s face. Hirsh said that Velvet cheated because deep down she knew that she cannot beat her. La Chef responded by stating that their next match would be on her time, before leaving.
Right after, we got Harley Cameron in action against Ashley Vox.
Harley got the crowd behind her getting chants and their support while Ashley got her fair share of boos.
In the final moments of the match, Harley was finally able to get a win with a shining wizard. As her music played, Harley shaked Vox hand and declared herself a winner.
It was a nice showing for the women. Even though it is cool to see unsigned talent get the opportunity to be on tv, I wish there were more interactions between the women on the roster.
That will be it for now. Don’t forget to watch WrestleDynasty this weekend!
