According to a source, Bea Priestley will travel to Japan in June to become a full-time member of the Stardom roster. This raises the question: Will she join AEW as was announced.
Priestley recently won the highest honor in Stardom, the World of Stardom Championship, in a match with Kagetsu on May 4 at Golden Week Stars 2019 Queen’s Quest Produce. Priestley is a member of the Queen’s Quest stable.
Upon winning the match, Priestley received the official Stardom jumpsuit. An honor customarily awarded to someone becoming a full-time member of the promotion.
It isn’t clear what this means for Priestley’s status with AEW. She is currently scheduled to debut in July at Fight for the Fallen. Recent events seem to indicate that Priestley may stay in Japan for a little while longer to attend to her duties as champion.
Priestley is tentatively supposed to be joining an AEW women’s division with plenty of starpower, joining Britt Baker, Allie and Brandi Rhodes, among others.
Bea originally joined Stardom back in 2017. Later, she made it to the finals of the 2018 Cinderella Tournament before losing to Momo Watanabe. She was scheduled to wrestle NXT UK Women’s Champion, Toni Storm, in a non-title match on May 16, but the match was pulled from the card.
Back in March, Priestley said she would announce a surprise that would clarify how she plans to split her time between both promotions. For now, well just have to wait and see.
