The WWE may be forging a partnership with WWN, the parent company of indy promotions SHINE, EVOLVE and Full Impact Pro.
According to a report from PWInsider, the WWE is interested in being able to “pick up and sign” any talent from these promotions in deals that would include merchandising and licensing rights, eliminating a lot of hassle.
The WWE is particularly interested in SHINE, it’s said, because they are “interested in having a group of women they can have official access to for potential WWE NXT use”.
Another report mentioned rumors that the WWE was interested in turning the promotions into a OVW-style organization that would assist developmental, but those were apparently unfounded.
The Tampa, Florida-based SHINE Wrestling was founded in 2012 and has run 27 events so far, all broadcasted live on WWNLive.com. Former TNA Knockout Santana Garrett is their current champion.
