Reported plans for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania

In a recent report from PWInsider, the plan as of now is to have two additional matches added to WrestleMania. They have confirmed with multiple sources that both matches will surround the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Yesterday, the material was taped for next week’s RAW to set up for these matches.

First, on night one, April 10, there will be a number one contenders match. As of now it is being reported that possibly four teams will be involved. If this ends up being the case, the four teams may be Naomi/Lana, Tamina/Natalya, The Riott Squad, and Mandy Rose/Dana Brooke. All of these teams besides The Riott Squad have had recent run-ins with the current tag team champs.

Then on night two, April 11, the winner of that match would face Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

There has been little to no build leading up to the big event. The tag champs have been involved in storyline and matches with the singles champions on both RAW and SmackDown. Regardless, it will be good to see if two more women’s matches were added to WrestleMania.

Baszler and Jax took to the mic this past Monday to wonder why they don’t have a match at the biggest event of the year. They are currently in their second reign as champs and defeated Asuka & Charlotte Flair for the titles at the Royal Rumble Kick Off show. Currently, they have challenged RAW Women’s Champion Asuka and Rhea Ripley next week.
