Results: Ronda Rousey wins her debut match

In a much-hyped mixed tag match, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle met Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

Despite numerous attempts at synching in her patented armbar, the wily Stephanie kept her at bay and was able to find creative ways out.

There was also intergender action as well. We saw Triple H almost pedigree Rousey and saw Angle lock in an ankle lock on Stephanie!

In the end, Ronda laid in her armbar one time too many and Stephanie ended up tapping giving Ronda her first match and win!

Check out Ronda and Kurt’s post celebration interview below:

Thoughts: This match was much better than it had any right to be. Stephanie and Ronda aren’t wrestlers and Kurt and Triple H aren’t in their prime anymore, but all four delivered. Ronda was feral and aggressive and Stephanie was able to take advantage of her inexperience and came off as a cagey veteran. The match wasn’t a technical masterpiece, nor did it need to be.

The crowd was on fire for Rousey, and even though she had her critics, she took the squared circle with confidence that showed throughout and made a good accounting of herself and her potential in the ring.

That being said, the MVP was Stephanie. She was verbally and physically abusive, she sold the story of fear and being ruthless, and carried this match in my opinion, and more importantly, we were FINALLY able to watch her get the beatdown she’s deserved for years. This was a solid A, it told a story, Ronda and Steph were better than expected, and the crowd was way into it, it felt like a big fight, well done!

What grade would you give it? What are your thoughts?
