Just before names such as Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair made their initial impact on the main roster, Nikki Bella defended the Divas Championship against Paige at the 2015 Money in the Bank event. Firmly into her eventual record-breaking second reign as Divas Champion, Nikki not only enlisted the help from her twin sister Brie but also Alicia Fox. Together they formed Team Bella.
In this match, frustration started settling in for Paige as she couldn’t put Nikki away to win the title. The two women were trading punches on the middle rope in the corner before both women fell to the floor. Brie came out from under the ring to perform Twin Magic.
Paige nor the official were aware that the switch had taken place. Brie rolled up Paige to try and take the victory but it was reversed and Paige got the three count. Thinking she had just won the championship, Paige was shocked to find out that she in fact pinned Brie.
Once Brie showed that it was her, Paige delivered a kick causing her to roll out of the ring. Nikki re-entered and hit a forearm before the Rack Attack to get the pin and the victory. Nikki retained and remained champion for 301-days before dropping the title to Charlotte Flair at Night of Champions.
